Lotus Hurt by the Cold

How many times, like lotus lilies risen
Upon the surface of a river, there
Have risen floating on my blood the rare
Soft glimmers of my hope escaped from prison.

So I am clothed all over with the light
And sensitive beautiful blossoming of passion;
Till naked for her in the finest fashion
The flowers of all my mud swim into sight.

And then I offer all myself unto
This woman who likes to love me: but she turns
A look of hate upon the flower that burns
To break and pour her out its precious dew.

And slowly all the blossom shuts in pain,
And all the lotus buds of love sink over
To die unopened: when my moon-faced lover,
Kind on the weight of suffering, smiles again.

Appears like risen from your lotus-nascence
Aurora's auspice
Bearing a clement presence
Sprawling incessant fulgence
Traversing by a sunny cycle along the days
With ardent love for Mother Earth

Appears like risen from your lotus-nascence
Sacred Shiva's cherubic Bala
Grown into a damsel of Tripura
To vanquish Bandasura beateous Lalitha
In valorous eloquence to conjoin Shiva
Meenakshi leering fledging love-arrows

Appears like risen from your lotus-nascence
Verdant Lakshmi pining for Vishnu
Firm in the lord's heart be seated to accrue
Sought His espousal reflects you

How I wonder sans any difference

Of your persona verdure
A scholar, benefactor I discover
And I wish you be so for ever

Ballads Of Four Seasons: Summer

On Mirror Lake outspread for miles and miles,
The lotus lilies in full blossom teem.
In fifth moon Xi Shi gathers them with smiles,
Watchers o'erwhelm the bank of Yuoye Stream.
Her boat turns back without waiting moonrise
To yoyal house amid amorous sighs.

A Flower Cut From Desire

The lotus is a flower cut from desire
Whatever her hue her petals attire
She is the goddess that sank into…
The muddy waters - arose anew.

Her purity and beauty is no cauldron.
Thou portrayed to symbolize the sun
She is but a spiritual, awakening…
A flower of prosperity, meaning.

A symbol of fertility, spirituality,
And even in her purest-state eternity.
The blue lotus is victory over wisdom
Pink the supreme lotus, Buddha's pilgrim.

The lotus path to noble truths is Purple
White purity spiritual perfection mental.
The Red lotus is related to the heart,
Associated with, love and compassion.

The lotus eye

A lotus is born in muddy water

You cannot grow lotus anywhere else

A sage is born in a decadent world

Jesus never comes during any golden age

He came in an age harrowed by humbugs

A lotus has eyes

They are enamoured of the Sun

Jesus had lotus eyes

They could see the Sun and nothing else

He saw light and nothing else

He was always in light

The lotus is the Sun on earth

Jesus was the Sun on earth

When we pray to Jesus

Our prayer goes to a lotus

When we caress a lotus

We caress God the Son

The Lotus-Flower

All the heights of the high shores gleam
Red and gold at the sunset hour:
There comes the spell of a magic dream,
   And the Harbour seems a lotus-flower;

A blue flower tinted at dawn with gold,
A broad flower blazing with light at noon,
A flower forever with charms to hold
His heart, who sees it by sun or moon.

Its beauty burns like a ceaseless fire,
   And tower looks over the top of tower;
For all mute things it would seem, aspire
To catch a glimpse of the lotus-flower.

Men meet its beauty with furrowed face,
   And straight the furrows are smoothed away;
They buy and sell in the market-place,
And languor leadens their blood all day.

At night they look on the flower, and lo!
The City passes with all its cares:
They dream no more in its azure glow,
Of gold and silver and stocks and shares.

The Lotus dreams 'neath the dreaming skies,
Its beauty touching with spell divine
The grey old town, till the old town lies
Like one half-drunk with a magic wine.

Star-loved, it breathes at the midnight hour
A sense of peace from its velvet mouth.
Though flowers be fair -- is there any flower
Like this blue flower of the radiant South?

Sun-loved and lit by the moon it yields
   A challenge-glory or glow serene,
And men bethink them of jewelled shields,
A turquoise lighting a ground of green.

Fond lovers pacing beside it see
Not death and darkness, but life and light,
And dream no dream of the witchery
The Lotus sheds on the silent night.

Pale watchers weary of watching stars
That fall, and fall, and forever fall,
Tear-worn and troubled with many scars,
They seek the Lotus and end life's thrall.

The spirit spelled by the Lotus swoons,
   Its beauty summons the artist mood;
And thus, perchance, in a thousand moons
Its spell shall work in our waiting blood.

Then souls shall shine with an old-time grace,
And sense be wrapped in a golden trance,
And art be crowned in the market-place
With Love and Beauty and fair Romance.

I Love You, Love, Except When I Hate You

I love you, love, except when I hate you
For sweet things whispered in the still of night
For how beautiful you were in my sight
Oh, love, how my love remains ever true

I hate you, love, except when I love you
For all the pain you've caused my heart to feel
For questions now had as to what is real
Oh, love, how the hate burns from red to blue

I love you and in the same breath hate you
Dichotomous paradoxes remain
Hope and logic have long ago been slain
Leaving just ashes where, once, stood the two

I love you, love, except when I hate you
And, love, how that hate burns from red to blue

Strange Is The Path When You Offer Love

Do not mention the name of love,
O my simple-minded companion.
Strange is the path
When you offer your love.
Your body is crushed at the first step.

If you want to offer love
Be prepared to cut off your head
And sit on it.
Be like the moth,
Which circles the lamp and offers its body.
Be like the deer, which, on hearing the horn,
Offers its head to the hunter.
Be like the partridge,
Which swallows burning coals
In love of the moon.
Be like the fish
Which yields up its life
When separated from the sea.
Be like the bee,
Entrapped in the closing petals of the lotus.

Mira's lord is the courtly Giridhara.
She says: Offer your mind
To those lotus feet.

The World Of The Silent Blooming Lotus

floating like a lotus
red concentric petals stretching
wanting to kiss the cheek of the sky

i am the monk in my own
spreading kingdom of a still pond

beside me are the frogs listening
surrounded by a soldier of tadpoles

beneath me is the stock of dirt
i keep my purity on top

the sun looks at me with pride
at night the moon smiles

such is the world of this silent lotus
calm amidst the night, clean atop the mess.

Sweeter Than Wine

The Almond flowers,
With buds and blossoms from my lover;
How sweet is the entrance of your tent?
Braided chains of pure gold,
The apple of your sweetest love;
With pure incense of sweet spices.
On one branch,
On one's love,
With buds and blossoms from her taste;
An Olive Oil from her light to share with you like,
That of her skills and abilities.
Your sweet love crowns the night,
In the midst of her mountains with love;
This is my deisre towards her.
Her love is sweeter than wine,
See how her breasts feed among the Lilies;
Of the Almond flowers,
Refresh me with your sweet apples my love;
You are so beautiful among women my love,
Your sweet aroma of the Almond flowers fills my soul.

Where Is The Love?

where is the love?

you ask me when i kiss you
you doubt the warmth of my lips
the truthfulness of my arms
the civility of my fingers
the trustworthiness of my hands

where is the love?

you look into my eyes
like you are a woman swimming in my river
you feel the coldness of my waters
the silence of my stones
the calmness of my sands
the coyness of my fish and snails

where is the love?

you ask me
you find the lotus without a flower
you find the driftwood on the water

my love, try finding love in the sky above

do you see love in the sun?
do you feel love with the moon?
do you hear the love from the tiny stars?

tell me.

The Red Mist

SHE thinks aloud as she sits alone,
And the magpies call in the evening grey —
Oh, sorrow to her with the heart of stone
Who stole my lover away, away!
There is no peace in the light of the moon,
And little enough in the shine of the sun;
And it's grieving and grieving that darkens the noon,
And troubles me sore till the salt tears run.
There's Joyce with the red cheeks says to me,
Herself as gay as a crowned young queen:
'It's pale you are, and it's sick, maybe;
And what is it ails your heart, Noreen?'
At that I say, with a laugh in my voice
(For grief is an ill, dark thing to show):
'It's you with your tricks and your capers, Joyce,
And the imp in your eyes that makes me so.'
There's one and another from near and far
Who come with their kind, sweet neighbour-speech;
'It's sick you look, and it's pale you are;
And what have you done with your bloom of the peach?'
I sit and listen, but may not tell;
As an actor plays, I play my part;
It's little they'd care (as my heart knows well),
If they but knew the hurt of my heart.
And even Joyce, who is kind as kind,
Would make a jest of my pain, perchance;
For a feather afloat on an idle wind
Means more to the world than a spoiled romance.
If I were a man I would do so much —
Be brave, make light of my weight of care,
Bring ease to my mind with a master-touch,
And find fit food for my heart elsewhere.
Yet soft and shy as a cooing dove
(For that he thought me, and thinks me yet)
I cannot rest for remembering love,
Nor dream of a time when I may forget.
I think of his kisses that warmed like wine
When the low night-winds in the pine trees played,
And the lilies, white in the white moonshine,
A startling light in the garden made.
I think of his voice in those honeyed hours,
And wonder if words are flowers sometimes,
All scent and colour — are chiming flowers
That thrill the blood with their magic chimes
And then, the thought of the Other comes,
Her wiles and wonder and luring lies,
And the blood in my ears is a throb of drums,
And a red mist glimmers before my eyes.
And I go to the place where the thing lies hid,
And its blade takes fire at my burning touch;
And I say to myself: 'If the world were rid
Of three lives more, would it matter much?
'Would it matter much in the big world's sight
If the sorry farce to the end were played.
And three ghosts trod through the Outer Night —
The Loved, the Lover, the Love Betrayed?
'If one that suffers and two that sing
Were made cold clay, were it well or ill?'
And I grasp the haft of the jewelled thing,
And stand in the lamplight pale and still.
And then I shudder, and sob and sink,
And lie, eyes hid, with the light turned low,
Like one who stands on an awful brink,
Wild-eyed, and trembling, and breathing slow;
And then comes Joyce with her joyous cries:
'Come out in the night, come dance with me!'
And I smooth my hair and I soothe my eyes —
But I know what the end of it all shall be.

Lotus

(buck/mills/stipe)
I was hell
Sarcastic silver swell
That day it rained
Tough spun. hard won. no
Ocean flower aquarium
Badlands. give a hand
Honey dipt. flim flam
Hey hey. hey hey
That cat can walk like a big bad man
So happy to show us
I ate the lotus
Say havent you noticed?
I ate the lotus
Storefront window, I reflect
Just last week I was merely heck
Tip the scale. I was hell
Picked me up, then I fell
Whos this stranger? crowbar spine
Da, da, da, and I feel fine
Let it rain, rain, rain (rain)
Bring my happy back again
So happy to show us
I ate the lotus
Say havent you noticed?
I ate the lotus
I ate the lotus
Let it rain, rain, rain (rain)
Save me from myself again
Wash away my ugly sins
Opposing thumb, dorsal fin
That monkey died for my grin
Bring my happy back again
Let it rain (rain), rain, rain (rain)
Bring my happy back again
So happy to show us
I ate the lotus
Say havent you noticed?
I ate the lotus
I ate the lotus
I ate the lotus
I ate the lotus

Unopened rose

At first glance,
An unopened rose never shows its true beauty
At first try,
It’s impossible to touch a shooting star
The first time we’ve met,
I didn’t know how gorgeous you could be

Just like the unopened rose,
I know after time, the unopened rose turns into a beautiful rose
A shooting may never be touched,
But it’s possible to get closer

A shooting star comes and goes once in a while
And I know it’s impossible to bring it for you
But if you get the chance to glance at it,
You will know what beauty is.

Also an unopened rose bloom once in a while
But each time the rose is in blossom,
You can really appreciate the beauty of it

Just like an unopened rose,
You are my unopened rose,
Some one who you deeply want to meet and keep meeting
Just like the rose opening with each day that passes,
you become more precious each day to me
But unlike an unopened rose that comes and goes,
You will stay forever in my heart and mind.

O my friends

O my friends,
What can you tell me of Love,
Whose pathways are filled with strangeness?
When you offer the Great One your love,
At the first step your body is crushed.
Next be ready to offer your head as his seat.
Be ready to orbit his lamp like a moth giving in to the light,
To live in the deer as she runs toward the hunter's call,
In the partridge that swallows hot coals for love of the moon,
In the fish that, kept from the sea, happily dies.
Like a bee trapped for life in the closing of the sweet flower,
Mira has offered herself to her Lord.
She says, the single Lotus will swallow you whole.

Lotus of River

Amid the irreconcilable, unbridgeable distance
between two banks
Flows a brawny mighty river
hiding the satiation satisfaction
of caressing a lotus atop
its meandering flows
battling the intrusive sea, fauna and fowl
The river a philosopher, a poet, a warrior
to all that gawk at its might
remain indulged; involved; and
into its lotus

Two Worlds

Like a dream, my life has gone past me
Taken so soon but love burns so true
Love never ending that shines like the stars in the sky
And I sing but so few can hear me
Words from the heart to set your souls free
Time has no distance deep in love
Know everything goes
Everyone knows theres something beyond us
There is a light believe me
Time turns into dust
Cry if you must
But love is the answer
Bringing two worlds together
Who can see the secrets that bind us?
Back to the earth til love rings so true
Eyes of compassion and tears of a deepening heart
I have seen the pain of a cruel world
And reached out a hand for suffering to ease
Bringing some comfort to the tears
Know everything goes
Everyone knows theres something beyond us
There is a light believe me
Time turns into dust
Cry if you must
But love is the answer
Bringing two worlds together into one
A mountain of flowers and the perfume
Floating so high
Hush and the stillness in a million minds
Know everything goes
Everyone knows theres something beyond us
There is a light believe me
Time turns into dust
Cry if you must
But love is the answer
Bringing two worlds together into one

River Lilies

Saw a boy three lilies white,
Lilies in the river,
Half heart-open to the light,
Full of golden arrows bright,
Each a silver quiver.
Lilies, lilies, lilies white,
Lilies in the river.

Said the boy, “I’ll pluck you there,
Lilies in the river!”
Said the lilies, “If you dare
You shall drown, or homeward fare
Dripping and a-shiver!”
Lilies, lilies, lilies white,
Lilies in the river.

Wilful still the boy would clasp
Lilies in the river;
Tumbled in ere he could grasp,
Scrambled out with puff and gasp,
Plucked no lilies ever.
Lilies, lilies, lilies white,
Lilies in the river.
