Strange Is The Path When You Offer Love
Do not mention the name of love,
O my simple-minded companion.
Strange is the path
When you offer your love.
Your body is crushed at the first step.
If you want to offer love
Be prepared to cut off your head
And sit on it.
Be like the moth,
Which circles the lamp and offers its body.
Be like the deer, which, on hearing the horn,
Offers its head to the hunter.
Be like the partridge,
Which swallows burning coals
In love of the moon.
Be like the fish
Which yields up its life
When separated from the sea.
Be like the bee,
Entrapped in the closing petals of the lotus.
Mira's lord is the courtly Giridhara.
She says: Offer your mind
To those lotus feet.

O my friends
O my friends,
What can you tell me of Love,
Whose pathways are filled with strangeness?
When you offer the Great One your love,
At the first step your body is crushed.
Next be ready to offer your head as his seat.
Be ready to orbit his lamp like a moth giving in to the light,
To live in the deer as she runs toward the hunter's call,
In the partridge that swallows hot coals for love of the moon,
In the fish that, kept from the sea, happily dies.
Like a bee trapped for life in the closing of the sweet flower,
Mira has offered herself to her Lord.
She says, the single Lotus will swallow you whole.
[Translated by Jane Hirshfield]
Only He Knows the Bitterness of Love
Only he knows the bitterness of love
Who has deeply felt its pangs.
When you are in trouble
No one comes near you:
When fortune smiles.
All come to share the joy.
Love shows no external wound.
But the pain pervades every pore
Devotee Mira offers her body
As a sacrifice to Giridhara for ever.
[Translated by A.J. Alston]
O my mind
O my mind,
Worship the lotus feet of the Indestructible One!
Whatever thou seest twixt earth and sky
Will perish.
Why undertake fasts and pilgrimages?
Why engage in philosophical discussions?
Why commit suicide in Banaras?
Take no pride in the body,
It will soon be mingling with the dust.
This life is like the sporting of sparrows,
It will end with the onset of night.
Why don the ochre robe
And leave Home as a sannyasi?
Those who adopt the external garb of a Jogi,
But do not penetrate to the secret,
Are caught again in the net of rebirth.
Mira's Lord is the courtly Giridhara.
Deign to sever, O Master.
All the knots in her heart.
Forgive Me My Love
Forgive me my love
I cannot offer you
the moon and the stars
or even a rainbow
in the sky.
Forgive me my love
I cannot offer you
a crown of a queen
or even a carat
of a diamond ring.
Forgive me my love
I cannot offer you
a thousand of roses
or even a lily
in a winter time.
Forgive me my love
please, forgive me my love
for only this heart of mine
is all I can offer you.

The Dagger
The dagger of love has pierced my heart.
I was going to the river to fetch water,
A golden pitcher on my head.
Hariji has bound me
By the thin thread of love,
And wherever He draws me,
Thither I go.
Mira's Lord is the courtly Giridhara:
This is the nature
Of his dark and beautiful form.

I will sing the praises of Hari
We do not get a human life
Just for the asking.
Birth in a human body
Is the reward for good deeds
In former births.
Life waxes and wanes imperceptibly,
It does not stay long.
The leaf that has once fallen
Does not return to the branch.
Behold the Ocean of Transmigration.
With its swift, irresistible tide.
O Lal Giridhara, O pilot of my soul,
Swiftly conduct my barque to the further shore.
Mira is the slave of Lal Giridhara.
She says: Life lasts but a few days only.
Life in the world is short,
Why shoulder an unnecessary load
Of worldly relationships?
Thy parents gave thee birth in the world,
But the Lord ordained thy fate.
Life passes in getting and spending,
No merit is earned by virtuous deeds.
I will sing the praises of Hari
In the company of the holy men,
Nothing else concerns me.
Mira's Lord is the courtly Giridhara,
She says: Only by Thy power
Have I crossed to the further shore.
Fundamental of Liar Chapter XXVII: Storyteller
I only offer story
not the truth
I only offer fantasy
not the future
I only offer dream

I only offer wish

I only offer memory
not the fact
I only offer chance
not miracle

Meditation
The wise say, those who wholly dedicate
their being to the Lord, receive from Him
the gift of His whole self, forever, now..
how irresistible this promise sounds!
But irresistible to whom or what?
The ego hears this promise; makes of it
what ego shapes; so offers not the whole,
the being; but what ego’s made of it…
And yet, this is a start – to offer Him
not being, gift-wrapped in entirety,
but more, a catalogue: of all that mind
knows of itself; all that it knows it’s not..
O Lord, my heart I offer to You, whole;
my mind, but part by part; in sum, my soul!

A Flower Cut From Desire
The lotus is a flower cut from desire
Whatever her hue her petals attire
She is the goddess that sank into…
The muddy waters - arose anew.
Her purity and beauty is no cauldron.
Thou portrayed to symbolize the sun
She is but a spiritual, awakening…
A flower of prosperity, meaning.
A symbol of fertility, spirituality,
And even in her purest-state eternity.
The blue lotus is victory over wisdom
Pink the supreme lotus, Buddha's pilgrim.
The lotus path to noble truths is Purple
White purity spiritual perfection mental.
The Red lotus is related to the heart,
Associated with, love and compassion.

Woman only accepts love.
Woman offers man her body
For the love expected of him.
Man offers woman his love
For the body expected of her.
He byes her flesh with his love.
She buys his love with her flesh.
The deal over, both find themselves
Wanting the gain contemplated.

Replace You
I know you are afraid that I may one day find someone who could give me more than you.
But be not afraid my love there is nothing anyone could offer me that would replace you.
Someone could offer me the hope diamond but its’ sparkle could never replace the sparkle that you put in my eyes.
Some could even offer all the gold in Fort Knox but its’ value could never replace the value you put in me.
Now, someone could perhaps offer me the world and my answer to them would be no thanks because I have the world already because I have you.
So rest your mind my love from worry because there is nothing or no one that could ever replace you.
The cat does not offer services. The cat offers itself. Of course he wants care and shelter. You don't buy love for nothing.

Lotus Hurt by the Cold
How many times, like lotus lilies risen
Upon the surface of a river, there
Have risen floating on my blood the rare
Soft glimmers of my hope escaped from prison.
So I am clothed all over with the light
And sensitive beautiful blossoming of passion;
Till naked for her in the finest fashion
The flowers of all my mud swim into sight.
And then I offer all myself unto
This woman who likes to love me: but she turns
A look of hate upon the flower that burns
To break and pour her out its precious dew.
And slowly all the blossom shuts in pain,
And all the lotus buds of love sink over
To die unopened: when my moon-faced lover,
Kind on the weight of suffering, smiles again.

All I Have To Offer You Is Love
(craig wiseman)
If all you wants a good time, baby
Theres a party down the street
If youre trying to fight an old flame
Well, I cant take the heat
If youre looking for a game to play
Well, I wish you luck
cause all I have to offer you is love
If you only want a keeper darling
I dont hold the key
If youre searching for a saviour better
Get down on your knees
If youre looking for the answers, well
Hell I dont know that much
cause all I have to offer you is love
Oh darling, theres a whole lot of things
Ive found that I just cant be, no I cant
But if youre looking for a real love, baby
Ive got all that youll ever need
It might be more than youre after
Or not nearly enough
But all I have to offer you is love
Oh darling, theres a whole lot of things
Ive found I just cant be
But if youre looking for a real love, baby
Ive got all that youll ever need
It might be more than youre after
Or not nearly enough, ahh
But all I have to offer you is love
Sweet love, baby
cause all I got to offer you is love
Sweet love
Oh baby, sugar

I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings. My wisdom flows from the Highest Source. I salute that Source in you. Let us work together for unity and love.

The Saffron
The saffron of virtue and contentment
Is dissolved in the water-gun of love and affection.
Pink and red clouds of emotion are flying about,
Limitless colours raining down.
All the covers of the earthen vessel of my body are wide open;
I have thrown away all shame before the world.
Mira's Lord is the Mountain-Holder, the suave lover.
I sacrifice myself in devotion to His lotus feet.
You Wanted More
Love Is Tragic
Love Is Bold
You Will ALways
Do What You Are Told
Love Is Hard
Love Is Strong
You Will Never Say That You Were Wrong
I Don't Know When I Got Bitter
But Love Is Surely Better When It's Gone
'Cause You Wanted More
More Than I could Give
More than I could handle
In a life that I can't live
You wanted more
More than I could bear
More than I could offer
For a love that isn't there
Love is color
Love is loud
Love is never saying you're too proud
Love is trusting
Love is honest
Love is not a hand to hold you down
I don't know when I got bitter
But love is surely better when it's gone
(Chorus)
I got to pick me up when I am down
I got to get my feet back on the ground
I got to pick me up when I am down
(Chorus)
You wanted more
More than I could love
More than I could offer
The harder you would shove
You Wanted More
More Than I could Give
More than I could handle
In a life that I can't live

Will You Still Love Me?
I only have two eyes
to adore you
I only have two feet
to walk with you
I only have two arms
to carry you
I only have one body
to serve you
I only have one heart
to love you
I only have one soul
to offer you...
Will you still love me?
