We Stand In Awe

The moon slips across the sky
on a cloudless night
as the stars wink at one another
saying everything is all right.
The fireflies dance
as soon as darkness descends
with an amusing firework display.
These wonders our eyes behold
as every evening falls
and we stand in awe of it all.

A Lovers Moon

The moonlight silhouettes
two lovers in the park
as they walk arm in arm
within their wonderland.
A warm scented breeze
filled with honeysuckle
ruffles their hair.
They stop and kiss
among a firework display
of dancing fireflies
as Cupid watches
from a tree top perch
awaiting with his arrows ready
for the midnight chime
and the crickets sing their chorus
under a lovers moon.

Our Mementoes Of Love

In affairs of the heart,
we always keep mementoes
in our memory of the affair
so in the lonely times
we can remember as if we are there.

A stolen kiss under the moonlight,
when no one is around.
A dance under the stars,
without any musicians about,
our mementoes of love.

The first time our eyes met
and the questions they asked.
The warmth of each other’s arms
as the cool night descends,
more mementoes of love.

Hungry Moon (Ghazal)

It slowly creeps across the sky prowling for escapades, that hungry moon.
Darling, come with me, flirt with the night, I’ll protect you from that hungry moon.

We’ll dance the habanera and let it have its way with us all the night.
Then we’ll slip into the darkness under the shadow of that hungry moon.

With the conversation of the dance we’ll outshout cries from that hungry moon.
Together we’ll evade the ever-watching eyes of evry hungry moon.

We’ll outrun the loneliness that has stalked us throughout the slow-turning day.
A long day awaited, gobbled up during the night by a hungry moon.

We’ll look into the dream-lit stars until we’re dizzy, remember this night.
We’ll head for the shadows where it is darkest, away from the hungry moon.

With the swooping and snatching of an owl as it seizes its frozen prey,
I will not leave you in the shadows of the night or prey to that hungry moon.

Like a yelping dog, with the name of Ben, we’ll be racing across the ridge.
Encircled in my arms I’ll protect you then from that ever-hungry moon.

Moon And Stars Above

A candle flickers
as the night breeze descends
casting shadows on the wall
of things we never saw.
They dance to the gentle rhythm
created by the breeze
as the clouds of evening
begin to gather in the sky.
Young lovers walk under
the moon and stars above
to kiss and cuddle in profusion
under the nearest tree.
Slowly night closes in
as the night chorus serenade
the young lovers
under the moon and stars above.
All too soon, they are parted
as night turns into day
and they have to wait again
until the night chorus signal
another close of day.

Helaman 14: 31

When the heavens cast their eyes on me,
they cried - I felt their tears on my face;
their tears, they drench me...
and I felt cold.
When the stars cast their eyes on me,
they fell - and I was left in darkness
with the ringing evening bells.
The moon, when she cast her eyes on me,
she died - and was buried in dark clouds;
I was left alone and homeless...
and thought I might as well die;
for the evening bells are ringing...
the heavens - they're still crying.
The stars are all but fallen.
But no, I'll never stay in darkness.
I cast away the dark clouds in my thoughts
and looked up in the heavens.
They still cry but their tears are sweet -
I smiled and felt the tender coldness
it brought in my weary feet.
The stars have fallen, the moon has died,
for the sun has risen and has brought its light.
Heavens gave way, the evening bells retired.
The darkness chose me but I have chosen light.
Death has crept its way and chose me
but I have chosen life.

Moon Goddess’s Rapture

The soft clouds of night
drift slowly across the moon
as the rhythm of the night
brings a melody of love
to the cool evening air
and kisses are stolen by lovers everywhere.

The stars dot an ebony sky
like jewels on a regal crown
while deep in the undergrowth
crickets enhance the night
as their calls mingle among
the light by a fireflies dance.

The babbling brook tells tales
to the whispering trees
of love’s romantic encounters
under the moon goddess’s rapture
that captures all in her sight
while she looks down at night.

Into The Night Long

Within the flickering candlelight
a romantic evening is born.
Two hearts entwine like ivy
into the night long.
The moon hides behind a cloud
briefly as they kiss.
In their moment of ecstasy,
the two hearts tip toe
among the stars
as they wait together
for the morning call.

Look Up At The Sky

…look up at the sky – Oh, do look up at the sky…look up at the sky that stretches in all directions and wherever one may turn…look up at the sky all above and that falls beyond the end of the visible earth…look up at the sky that stretches beyond one’s vision and look beyond the sky into limitless space…

…see, time and care and the narrowness of one’s conditioning confine one and bends one’s mind – as one’s back is bent, and one’s neck is loaded down; and one’s eyes are fixed to the spotlight-defined meters as one stands one’s ground…Oh, but just look up at the sky…

…look up at the sky in the day and see its deep blue…look up at the sky and see the clouds and the sun, and the brilliance and the lack of limits and confines…look up at the sky in the morning and see the sun rise, and behold its wonder and its colors…look up at the sky at twilight and look at it at night with the moon and the stars and the infinite space that stretches beyond…

…look up at the sky and behold its wonders and splendor and its power… look up at the sky and the space beyond and behold its brilliance and limitlessness…

Oh, look up at the sky and the space beyond – and behold the limitlessness of the mind…behold there the infinite stretch of your mind, of the mind…behold the skies and space, and behold the power and glory and the unconfined, unconditioned freedom and brilliance of your mind and your being, of the unconfined mind and of unconditioned being…

Captivating Mountains

The snow capped mountains
are an inviting sight.
They beckon you to them
with all their finery
and when you stand on them
the world is at your feet.

Cameras capture moments
never to be forgotten in time.
For one moment again
all the beauty and regal splendour
will be yours to enjoy
again and again and again.

As evening falls with darkness calling
they are silhouetted against the moon.
Another scene emerges
for your eyes to behold
and again the mountains
capture you with mysteries untold.

Said the stars to the moon

The stars said to the moon
As they came out to grace the sky
With their twinkling presence
You do not have to dance alone

There are those that have no choice
They must feel the sting of loneliness
Be one apart from many
And make it through night after night

The stars said to the moon
You do not have to dance alone
The moon asked why and the reply
Was because together we are the moon and stars

Nocturnal

As the light of day descends
and darkness falls like a shroud
covering everything, in its wake,
the night becomes alive
and the nocturnal creatures awake.

The shriek of an owl
swooping silently on wing,
and the shadows of a bat
silhouetted in aerobatics
under the moonlight.

Struggles of life and death
are hidden from our eyes
when the night becomes alive
and the nocturnal creatures
hunt to survive.

Nothin New Under The Moon

Nowhere to go.
All night took everything.
Another nice try with mr. wrong.
Late night tv on my horizon.
National anthem and Im barely hangin on.
Just a typical saturday night.
Feeling like the rest of my life.
There was nothing new under the moon.
Same old dance, same old tune.
Just wishes on stars that never came true.
Just one more night to get through.
But there was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Hey what a change.
Hey what a concept.
Heres a true heart wanting mine.
News flash! whod ever thought you could
Have the same feeling at the very same time?
Look at what your loves doing to me.
I cant believe I used to believe
That there was nothing new under the moon.
Same old dance, same old tune.
Just wishes on stars that never came true.
Just one more night to get through.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Nothin new under the moon
Same old dance, same old tune.
Just wishes on stars that never came true.
Just one more night to get through.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Nothin new under the moon, til you.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.
Nothin new, til you.
There was nothing new under the moon, til you.

My Treasure

This is mine...
Safe and locked up...
Hidden from evening shadows;

The fireflies dance around the Moon...
Making ready our Garden...
While the emerald green ivy creeps up the wall;

Remembrance reflects like a mirror...
While an Autumn leaf announces Fall...
My eyes behold your likeness...
Near a Lake Of Glass;

The two of us together (forever) ...
Yes, this is mine...
Only mine to remember...
Come November;

Modern Love XXXII (Okie the zen golden retreiver)

Evening star gives eternal kisses of fireflies
to the dark face of the moon
the joyful moon cracks an ocher grin
and falls in love with a reflection
on the green river
the red tails of dancing fireflies
escape from the moon's mouth
into the adoration
Racoons take off their masks
preparing for bed
the river politely refuses
to carry the lunar mirror
leaves it at the waterfall's door
who returns it to the evening star
during the moon's void
a mocking bird awakens the meditating trees
the rocks hidden under the falls miss the sun
the sun's lover lives an hour of light years away
the lunar grin, reflection, evening star
seek hiding places from the dawn
the sudden stillness gives birth
to thousand of mohican souls
who dance in concentric circles
while running down whitmore falls
the evening star ashamed of history
fades into the blue
the moon finds great happiness
in disappearing
the unseen ocean opens arms
and awaits the moon's image
arias of water sing
eternal mantras
where mind's heart dances
joyous silence of a single note
a breath whispering by
between the longing of the ocean
and the moon's love of infinite reflections
and the adoring evening star
an open window creates a wall
of antigue white and mauve moths
as a golden retreiver leaps from a black rock
chasing a teasing blue heron who flies
up over black trees into the bend of the river
creating dawn, as the golden bellyflops laughing

Possession

The first star which appears in the morning -
I look deep into your eyes -
I love the surprise -
I see more in the expression on your face, by the blue crystal display in the skies -
By your touch the flowers bloom, the stars quake as they rise with the moon -
Watch the moon -
Watch her subside in the sky -
Wink a kiss to receive a wish -
She shines to sparkle at night -
With the stars she lights the ways of the milky, bright by sight -
Will she surrender a spoon -
Will she be tender at noon -
Alone she floats in the dark -
But together, we will steer her clear from fear -
Our passion -
Is our transgression -
Love is our possession

A Dance For The Night Sky

Let's dance to this song
Just this once, we lose all bonds
Our bodies, cascading
We make the world our dance floor
To this final waltz, we sway like waves
Beneath the envious stars
Hearts bursting like fireworks on New Year's Eve

Every star, we claim as ours
We make our mark
Under the moon we dance
The only spark in the night
That could ever be brighter than the moonlight

I am the burning red, and you lush as gold
We illuminate the night's endless fold
A duet of colors, to light the desolate night sky
Brighter than the moon and stars, you and I

For just one night
Take my hand
My last chance
Lasts in this dance under the night sky
For I swear on my last breath
With you I'll make the moon and stars weep
As we dance the most beautiful waltz
The constellations will ever see

Dancing To The Music Of Fireflies

Sound of gravel crunching
On a lonely country lane
Then parking neath an ol' Oak Tree

Radio softly playing
An ol' George Jones song
Of broken hearts and misery

The hypnotic rise,
before one's eyes
That only fireflies can bring

The swirling sigh
of hormone's tide
The intoxicating smell of spring

The night slips by
The moon hangs high
honey locust blossoms scent the air

My hands cradle your head
I bury my face
in the musky perfume of your hair

Your lips to mine
Our legs and arms entwined
Our bodies start to sway

And we slow dance…
To the music of fireflies
…Until the light of day…

Being Teenagers Again

The flickering flecks of stardust
dance in your hair
as we run along the beach
being teenagers again
enjoying the freedom of the young.
The ocean waves caress the shore
with each new wave that falls.
The moon and stars shine bright
when night begins to call
and here are we running through
each wave that rushes up the sand.
Enjoying our evening out
being teenagers again.
Tomorrow is another day,
but for now, we’re having fun
enjoying the moon and stars
as we run along the sand
being teenagers again.

Stars have eyes! !

Stars have eyes

Did anyone ever see the eyes on stars?
The eyes on stars full of soul
Look any longer they take control

Did anyone ever see the eyes on stars?
The eyes on stars behold the sight
Look any longer and glide free like a kite

Did anyone see the eyes on stars?
The eyes on stars oh what a smile
Look any longer they’ll lite your darkness for a mile

Did anyone see the eyes on stars?
The eyes on stars share the love
Look any longer you know it comes from above

Well now you’ve seen the eyes on stars
Shared the beautiful soul amazed by their wonder
Enchanted by the smile
And overwhelmed by the love

But look any longer you will see the pain
The pain on the eyes of stars
Never to be concealed by the rain

The eyes on stars cry
Never to be wiped dry
The eyes on stars cry
The eyes on stars cry blood tears
Permanently there reminding of fears

The eyes on stars cry
The eyes on stars cry

Stars eyes cry
Stars eyes cry
Stars eyes cry
They cry blood
Stars eyes cry

Stars eyes smile
Stars have eyes
Stars eyes.

Temptations of The Night

Looking at the stars at night I feel small
The darkness wraps my body like a shawl
Through the pale light from the moon above
I see silhouettes of things only dreamed of
Grey and black shadows bear new life and meaning
While the voices born at nightfall are intervening

A dark leaf falling to the ground really slowly
Becomes a mysterious object foreign and unholy
Thoughts of times past mystic dances under a pale moon
I like to surrender to that and stay with nature attune
Water lilies gracefully accompany me on a nightly swim
While creatures of the night dance around my love to win

Tall grass on the waterside looks like prophets of doom
Inviting me for a quick chat to a beautiful marble tomb
I'm thinking of fireflies that could save me tonight
But instead I fall in love with a beautiful black knight
The night holds promises mesmerizing and waiting
Becoming one with the shadows luring creatures are mating

Cries into the dark echo and become nights temptations
Dark muddy waters disclose confessions in consultations
Dragonflies like lovers sing to the tunes of a silent silver light
While the darkness protects me and keeps me out of sight
My eyes linger before the night gives in to a new day
Bathing in the moonlight touching the silver crystal display
