Ups And Downs
Each life has its ups and downs
and I always figured
my life had more downs than ups.
However, when I stopped to look at it,
I think the reverse may well apply.
There have been more up than downs.
I have a wonderful wife,
which has to be an up.
I have been blessed with three lovely children,
which has to be another up.
I have friends from every four corners of the world.
There is no denying that is an up.
When I tried to look at the downs,
I really couldn’t think of any.
Therefore, at this moment
I am one of the few
real lucky people
who have more ups than downs.

Life Has Downs and Then There's Ups
Whatever that you do,
Do it to yourself and no one else.
If you are ever feeling despondant...
And there is no one to correspond this with,
Or discuss before you bust a gut...
Why share your feelings of being in a rut?
Give that up to discover...
Life has downs and then there's ups!
It's a doing on everyone that is executed.
Life has downs and then there's ups!
Why share your feelings of being in a rut?
Give that up to discover...
Life has downs and then there's ups!
It's a doing on everyone that is executed.
Life has downs and then there's ups!

Walking through the garden of life
Walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs
Sometimes we see beautiful flowers
Sometimes we are in midst of the prickling thorns
Sometimes we are surrounded by the colorful butterflies
Sometimes we are stung by the angry bee
Walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs
Sometimes we have to walk over the smooth grass
Sometimes we find a slippery path
Sometimes we have to swim across a long river
Sometimes we find a constructed bridge
Walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs
We don't know what we might find next
But this suspense makes the journey interesting
And at last when we reach the destination
The entire journey becomes memorable
Yes, walking through the garden of life
We do experience many ups and downs

I've had 60 years of ups and downs, and all of the downs that I've had, I'm happy that I've had them because it's taught me to appreciate all the ups.

Ups And Downs
So precious are our days upon this earth,
From life's very start, at our moment of birth,
Through our childhood years, so free from cares,
Then into adulthood, with its many shares
Of ups and downs, and sadness and joy,
Children for us perhaps, a girl and a boy.
Into middle age, then way beyond,
If only we could wave a magic wand
And choose each step that we should take,
The right decisions, that we should make,
But alas, our judgement is not always right,
Sometimes we can fail to see the light.
So life will be filled with ups and downs,
Days of laughter and days of frowns,
But through our days, whether stormy or fine,
These precious days are still yours and mine.

Ramshackle
You've been so long
Your blind eyes are gone
Your old bones are on their own
So take off your coat
Put a song in your throat
Let the dead-beats pound all around
We will go
Nowhere we know
We don't have to talk at all
Hand me downs
Flypaper towns
Stuck together
One and all
The bargains you drive
Buckets and bags
And all your belongings
Your train's in the sand
Ramshackle land
Let the rats watch the races
We will go
Nowhere we know
'Til we find our one and all
Hand me downs
Flypaper towns
Stuck together
One and all
Praises get spent
Your trick face is bent
Pigsties and prizes
'Cause there's no kind of 'well'
You're suiting yourself
You leave yourself behind
We will go
Nowhere we know
'Til we find our one and all
Your hand me downs
Flypaper towns
Stuck together
One and all

I' m Gonna Be Around
It's been so long since we took the time
To share words
From deep inside us
We're in our own world spinning our wheels
But you know how I feel
Well since the first time I took your hand
My love for you
Has just been growing
You always seem to understand
You know how I am
(chorus)
I'm gonna love you 'til the end
I'm gonna be
Your very true friend
I wanna share your ups and downs
I'm gonna be around
When you're alone 'cos I'm away
Don't be sad
Don't be afraid
I'm gonna turn my thoughts to you
Like I always do
(chorus)
I'm gonna love you 'til the end
I'm gonna be
Your very true friend
I'm gonna share your ups and downs
I'm gonna be around
Catch you when you fall
Hold you when you're down
Sharing every moment
I wanna show you all I do
I believe I've found a miracle
In you
(chorus)
I'm gonna love you 'til the end
I'm gonna be
Your very true friend
I'm gonna share your ups and downs
I'm gonna be around

Billie Boy With Downs
Shocked with what the doctors had found
That their child was born with downs.
I recall when I was young, that
our neighbor had a son.
He was always different from me
But there was something that I could not see.
He was born with downs
But always laughing and joking around.
He had the strength of 2 or 3
Which was amazing to me.
We would always play “ Johnny on the pony”.
There was never anything about him that was phony.
All of us kids wanted him on our team
Because he would not fall and scream.
He could not run as fast as us
But in us he put his trust.
His brother Nicky told us that
He was born that way, and was always
Wanting to joke and play.
He was called BILLIE BOY
And he was our fun and joy.
Billie Boy got sick one day
And no longer had the will to play.
Then to be closer to the hospitals
“ they moved away”.
Now I am much older and I understand
That GOD put him in front of me
Because he had a plan.
That extra chromosome that they have called “21”
Makes them different from you and I.
But they’ll love you till the day they die.
Children with downs can do almost anything
That others can do, just at a slower pace.
But they are not in a hurry or in a race.
But this will have them love you longer
And in them your faith grows stronger.
So Billy Boy where ever you may be
You will always be in my memories.

People Make The World Go Round
People...
(round and round and around...)
People make the world go round
(round and round and around...)
Teachers on strike, no more school today
They want more money but the board wont pay
People
Everybodys talkin bout ecology
The airs so polluted that its hard to breathe
People
Rrefrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...
Old folks judge you by the clothes you wear
Theyd swear youre a hippy if you have long hair
Young politicians fight for poverty
While people still cry for equality
Refrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...
(instrumental)
Refrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...

I'm About To Come Alive
I can hear you downstairs crying on the phone
Telling someone that I'm here but you still feel all alone
Maybe we were too young
Goodbye, I've gotta go
I can hear the baby waking up
Got to get back to the life I know
I should have never believed him
Maybe I should just leave him
Maybe I'm not but you're all I got left to believe in
Don't give up on me
I'm about to come alive
And I know that it's been hard
And it's been a long time coming
Don't give up on me
I'm about to come alive
No one thought I was good enough for you
Except for you
Don't let them be right
After all that we've been through
'Cause somewhere over that rainbow
There's a place for me
A place with you
In every frame upon our wall
Lies a face that's seen it all
Through ups and downs and then more downs
We helped each other off of the ground
No one knows what we've been through
Making it ain't making it without you

Climb Over That Hill
When your reach,
Is not towards the top...
Only you are there blocking,
What should not be stopped.
When your reach,
Is not towards the top...
Only you are there blocking,
What should not be stopped.
If you've got a lot on your mind,
A rollercoaster you will find...
Tripping you with up and downs,
Until on the ground...
Where you can be found.
Hanging around.
A dance romanced with feebleness,
Attracts like bread to feed insects.
And keeps you in check,
With no wish for the best!
Don't leave your heart on your sleeve.
Decide to be released and free.
And refuse to accept,
Disrespect and neglect.
If you've got a lot on your mind,
A rollercoaster you will find...
Tripping you with up and downs,
Until on the ground...
Where you can be found.
Hanging around.
Declare more of joy with peace and harmony!
Decide today it is okay to have prosperity.
And you will,
Climb over that hill!
Yes you will...
Have a life fulfilled.
When your reach,
Is not towards the top...
Only you are there blocking,
What should not be stopped.
Declare more of joy with peace and harmony!
And you will,
Climb over that hill!
Yes you will...
Have a life fulfilled.

Past Days
I.
Dead and gone, the days we had together,
Shadow-stricken all the lights that shone
Round them, flown as flies the blown foam's feather,
Dead and gone.
Where we went, we twain, in time foregone,
Forth by land and sea, and cared not whether,
If I go again, I go alone.
Bound am I with time as with a tether;
Thee perchance death leads enfranchised on,
Far from deathlike life and changeful weather,
Dead and gone.
II.
Above the sea and sea-washed town we dwelt,
We twain together, two brief summers, free
From heed of hours as light as clouds that melt
Above the sea.
Free from all heed of aught at all were we,
Save chance of change that clouds or sunbeams dealt
And gleam of heaven to windward or to lee.
The Norman downs with bright grey waves for belt
Were more for us than inland ways might be;
A clearer sense of nearer heaven was felt
Above the sea.
III.
Cliffs and downs and headlands which the forward-hasting
Flight of dawn and eve empurples and embrowns,
Wings of wild sea-winds and stormy seasons wasting
Cliffs and downs,
These, or ever man was, were: the same sky frowns,
Laughs, and lightens, as before his soul, forecasting
Times to be, conceived such hopes as time discrowns.
These we loved of old: but now for me the blasting
Breath of death makes dull the bright small seaward towns,
Clothes with human change these all but everlasting
Cliffs and downs.

Ways Of Life
Strange are the ways of life
With all its ups and downs....
The wheels of fortune turns
And all of a sudden
Haves become have-nots,
Have-nots become haves...
But what must happen
does happen
and we have to face it all
with courage and a steely resolve...
Strange are the ways of life
With all its ups and downs...
The morning alarm rings
and all of a sudden,
Fear and anxiety threaten
to suffocate me to death.
Then I remind myself
But what must happen
does happen
and I must face it all
with courage and a steely resolve...

Get Up Thankful To Be Blessed
Feeling Blessed.
And with each day I am more receptive.
Less inclined am I to accept a restlessness.
With a peace of mind,
That having an openness...
Achieves and gets.
And...
How you doin?
'I aint so lucky,
To have my life that way.
I have to get up to go to work!
And be annoyed everyday.
My life aint nuthin'...
But ups and downs.
I've got bills to pay!
And my creditors are always around.'
Oh!
So you're saying,
That's the way you choose to live?
Looking for something to complain about.
And deciding there's no reason,
To be positive.
'No!
I'm not saying that at all.
That's just the way my life is.
I can not afford to fantasize,
Like 'some' people who pretend...
They've got it made,
With no pot to piss in! '
Well...
I guess you do have a point.
I get up thankful to be blessed,
I have a toilet...
Where I conduct all my private business.

You Found Me
Is this a dream
If it is
Please don't wake me from this high
I'd become
Comfortably numb
Until you opened up my eyes
To what it's like
When everything's right
Oh I can't believe
You found me
When no one else was looking
How did you know just where I would be
Yeah you broke through all of my confusion
The ups and the downs and you still didn't leave
I guess that you saw what nobody could see
You found me
So here we are
And that's pretty far
When you think of where we've been
No going back
I'm fading out
All that has faded me within
You're by my side
Now everything's fine
I can believe
I was hiding
Till you came along
And showed me where I belong
You found me
When no one else was looking
How did you know just where I would be
Yeah you broke through all of my confusion
The ups and the downs and you still didn't leave
I guess that you saw what nobody could see
The good and the bad and the things (everything) in between
You found me

Life is a Journey of Ups and Downs
Even on a newly paved road, we can still encounter a constructors’ bumpy works – or maybe these exist purposely for travelers’ safety – but we don’t know until we passed them to our rides. Same as life: it is journey of ups and downs. We can ponder the past, as beautiful sceneries and yet we missed some details by obstruction of bumps, which we cannot look back by the speed of our commute. Same as life: we can look ahead and enjoy smooth rides towards sunset in an open view, like a dream full of colorful wishes or ambitions, yet only to be sighted by careful attention and guidance of our hands. Same as life: each one has final destination in this crazy world, and time is our age with unknown stoppage of seconds, but we all arrive to our own destiny.
Yes! Life is a journey of ups and downs – whether today is a joyful result of good fortune, and yesterday was the absence of luck, while tomorrow remains in the vein of the wind. Life, like given clays to perfectly shape them into a ball, and each print of fingertips are imprints of struggles. We can mold them in any sizes and shapes – as greatness to our endeavors – of how we work our fate throughout our given time. Some succeed and some fail.
And yes! Life is a journey of ups and downs – whether we are surrounded by thinkers or traitors; lovers or haters; good friends or enemies – to carefully eye them with our best judgment: Such judgments that do not offend one as opposite but as a protection to our own well being to learn of what we must know and gain of what we must earn.
Indeed, life is journey of good and bad, joy and sorrow, luck and misfortune, like post-signs: we can only repair the repairable and leave the un-repairable, so we can move on until our final destinations were reached upon God’s will.

Behind The wall
Why I always feel
Trapped behind the wall
waiting for the spring
To give me joy's call
So I can join in
And enjoy this lonely game
Known as ups and downs
Of life's basic aim
Why I always feel
Trapped behind the wall
Waiting for the summer
To give me joy's call
so I can move on
with time to catch
what fate has sent aside
For me to match
Why I always feel
Trapped behind the wall
waiting for the winter
To give me joy's call
So I can sing a song
Of joy and mirth
And find a purpose
To be on this earth
That God has created
For all of us to stay
Where time moves on
like waves in the bay
With its ups and downs
From the start of day light
And stretches till the curtain
Falls on the peaceful night.

Quarks
They're fundamental particles
Described in complex articles.
They have six flavors which is strange;
They form a hadron when arranged.
The ups and downs are very light,
But stable and a common sight
Could we observe them, for we're blind
To quarks, which are, colour confined.
The others are the strange and charmed,
(in writing this no quarks were harmed)
And top and bottom are the last
With these four changing very fast
To ups and downs by their decays,
For they were made by cosmic rays.
They have two charges, mass and spin,
And there is broad agreement in
Each published scientific source
That every quark feels every force;
And for each quark an anti mate,
So if they meet what is our fate?
If we are just a cloud of quarks
Could we end in a shower of sparks?

Growing Pains
I was a child
Beguiled and fresh
Of innocents and new
Who played like many
With trust and hope
For the future that would be new
But unlike many
I broke in two
A rag doll in despair
And knew not of the
Wrong been done
To a child of one so young
Suppressed I learned
So young in life
Of what not to share
Love, life and Happiness
Were things to me not real
I walked around half dead half live
Thinking alas is this my life
And every day I cried in vain
Crying I want to take my life
But life for me continued
In suffering and pain
Never really sharing
All that I had gained
Life can take its ups and downs
For me more so the downs
But then I learned to look for hope
That carried me to higher ground
So from childhood to teenage years
To young adult I grew
With all those years of doubt and shame
Suppressed with in my pain
The burden I carried for so many years
Turned to hatred and pain
So for many years my anger
Took me through a life of pain
Of self doubt and helplessness
So I always hide my pain
You learn to live you bare the pain
Of all that life can give
Then grow into a women
That your burdens you bare alone
But now I stand before you
A women of today
Learning, Love, Life and Happiness
And this time for me it’s real
And with open arms I learn
To share my love once again
With all my family and Friends
I say thanks once again.
