Scarlet Cloak
The scarlet cloak of loneliness
covers my sorrowed soul
and my gentle heart is benign
to any chosen fact.
Each day I gather straws
I reach out to cling to
but each one snaps within my grasp
and I wonder what I’ll do.
The hollow world I live in
echoes my vacant thoughts.
Even the hues of colours that
surround me everyday
cannot remove this scarlet cloak
that wants to smother me away.

The Scarlet Cloak
ONE may go a-many leagues a-questing yon and hither;
One may look on queens and kings, and think the vision bliss;
But he who has the wholesome heart, as lightsome as a feather,
Can find a joy in everything, no matter what it is.
Golden Miles to Burrawang, when the morn was tender! —
How your memory rises up, how it haunts and smiles!
Back again, and back it comes — all the early splendour —
All your length made beautiful, O you Golden Miles!
You that wore the scarlet cloak in the pearly morning,
When the sun came up the East, and through the heavens strode
Like a prince of great account, cloud and mist-wreath scorning —
What was in the heart of you, waiting by the road?
Birds of all the bush around were at their greeting matins,
Some with little twitterings, and some with loud acclaim;
Cloth-of-gold is fine wear, and fine are silks and satins —
Finer was the scarlet cloak that wrapped you like a flame.
You that wore the scarlet cloak in the early morning,
When the leaves were dancing all, and the dewdrops glowed,
Like a flower — a flower of flowers, the dewy way adorning —
Love was in the heart of you, waiting by the road!

Scarlet Ribbons
I peeked in to say good-night,
When I heard my child in prayer.
And for me some scarlet ribbons,
Scarlet ribbons for my hair.
All the stores were closed and shuttered,
All the streets were dark and bare.
In our town no scarlet ribbons,
Not one ribbon for her hair.
Thru the night my heart was aching,
Just before the dawn was breaking.
I peeked in and on her bed,
In gay profusion lying there,
Lovely ribbons, scarlet ribbons,
Scarlet ribbons for her hair.
If I live to be a hundred,
I will never know from where.
Came those lovely scarlet ribbons,
Scarlet ribbons for her hair.
Scarlet ribbons- theres magic in the air,
Scarlet, scarlet ribbons for her hair.

Colour
There's colour in the woodlands as far as eye can reach,
Pale gold upon the elm-tree and bronze upon the beech;
To witch the world with beauty a hundred hues ally -
But bonniest is the scarlet when a Whip rides by.
On towers of brown and crimson, on roofs of royal gold
The banners of the autumn their splendid tints unfold,
And no one will their wonder, their magic lure deny -
Yet dearer is the scarlet when a Whip rides by.
Ah! Bright September woodlands, your magic only means
That summer’s life is ebbing on the bed your beauty screens;
Not all your painted pennons on all your towers so high
Can match one patch of scarlet when a whip rides by!

As the Edge of the Moon
I have stained my soul with scarlet colors, thus this work
The ballad of merlot and mandolins, the bliss is midnight blue
The deep black is but her hungry delight
Thus I dye her desires a darker scarlet within the foils of my flesh
As the edge of the moon watched over our swallowing dance
Evening had long settled into the wit of the light and slow rain
Distinct in the thought of our lust consuming the blackberry wine
As the bottle overflowed throughout the frolic of our ecstasy
Her heart is but scarlet colored, her kisses are like tight fisted flowers
Her gentle hands in the threshold and the deep suite waters
The sharp love that blots my soul somewhat like her devilish shadow
Thereafter, my emotions are stained with her sweet scarlet
The bare bedroom in the pulp and the deep black music
As I come to bed where she lays sweet and in favor
I have stained my soul with her scarlet color, thus this work
Evening having settled into the song as the edge of the moon

Racism Is Not Justified
racism is based on how we are different
but that cannot be justified
we are the same on the inside
we all have feelings
we all have souls
no matter what colour flesh
we all bleed scarlet red
that warm scarlet
we all live off it
we all need it
we are all the same
the same where it truly counts
the inside counts

Pretty In Scarlet
Pretty in scarlet
So pretty in scarlet
We slept a while
To turn it up and get it off our minds
I slept a while
To get it all
It seems allright
To find a place without a single life
Where is the night
We run into
Cause nothings good I can explain
Im falling down and caught up the rain
I turn myself into changes
The night I kissed you goodbye
Cause nothings good I can explain
Im falling down and caught up the rain
To turn myself into changes
Your death is over
You wanna live a life pretty in scarlet
Come on
You wanna wash it down Im pretty in scarlet
To myself to say goodbye
You wanna live a life pretty in scarlet
Come on
You wanna wash it down Im pretty in scarlet
To myself to say
Its ok
Doesnt count
For my place
Deeper sound
Let me dive alone
Let me dive alone
You gave me wine
To poison me and take away my time
I can hear your cry
I wonder why
Cause nothings good I can explain
Im falling down and caught up the rain
Cause I turn myself into changes
The night I kissed you goodbye
Cause nothings good I can explain
Im falling down and caught up the rain
I turn myself into changes
Your death is over
You wanna live a life pretty in scarlet
Come on
You wanna wash it down Im pretty in scarlet
To myself to say goodbye
You wanna live a life pretty in scarlet
Come on
You wanna wash it down Im pretty in scarlet
To myself to say goodbye
Pretty in scarlet
Pretty in scarlet
Pretty in scarlet
You wanna live a life pretty in scarlet
Come on
You wanna wash it down Im pretty in scarlet

Pretty
Shes pretty
Shes pretty
And I run, and I run, and I run, and I run away
And if you throw a stone on me
And if you need some pain to see
And if you live your lies
I will run, will run, will run, run away
And if you throw a stone on me
And if you need some pain to see
And if you live your lies
I will run

Metamorphose
There are days in everybody’s life,
days when turmoil strikes every mortal fibre
and drives us down into a seemingly bottomless pit.
It is up to us to struggle out of it
and when we see the sunlight
a metamorphose takes place
and we chuck away that cloak of darkness,
replacing it with a cloak of light.
Our smile is returned
and again we faced the world
with a smile on our face.

Everyday You
Everyday you make my sun smile
In warm and tender feelings
At night dreams of you brighten as
the milky moon
All i can think about is when i will
see you soon
You the reason why my heart sails in
passionate flames
Why my heart beats with such delightful
claims
Everyday your image eclipses my heart
Everyday your embers are warmth in my soul
Everyday you paint my within
with feelings strong
Everyday with you is a sweet song
And under the romantic sun we do belong
Everyday thoughts of you erupt
through my crater and lava fills my skies
Everyday thoughts of you deep within
gentle arise

Red
Place that bayonet in my hand,
And fill this pouch with lead;
Show me the blood and leave me, and let me
Stand
By my dead.
Cover those staring eyes and go
And stab in the red, red rain.
Show me that blood and leave me. They groan
In the snow.
With the pain.
Cover his head with a scarlet cloak,
And run to your scarlet strife,
Show me that blood and leave me, where white
Snows choke
Out the life.
Turn his face to the sanguine skies,
The skies where the red stars move.
Show me that blood and leave me; a dead man lies
With his love.

Scarlet And Sheba
Scarlet wants to hold me, wearing just a red-veiled hat
Sheba's in the shadows waiting for her turn at bat
In the parlour where the lights are low
A vulture sister act, I watch their show
They're trying to kill me, want to pick my bones
Methodically, erotically
I just want your body, Sheba
I don't want your brain
Scarlet gets what's left of my remains
I just want your body, Sheba
You lock me up in chains
Scarlet, she can referee the game
Scarlet likes to scold me, showers me with all her love
Sheba's in a bad mood, sharpening her black fur glove
With blood and honey attitude
They'll never know my gratitude
I'm crossed with longitude and latitude
Upon my back... with a crack
I just want your body, Sheba
I don't want your brain
Scarlet gets what's left of my remains
I just want your body, Sheba
You lock me up in chains
Scarlet, she can referee the game
I just want your body, Sheba
I don't want your brain
Scarlet gets what's left of my remains
I just want your body, Sheba
You lock me up in chains
Scarlet, she can referee the game

Threnody
O ye who claim to be our loyal friends
Come now and build for us a funeral pyre,
And lay our emptied bodies on the fire,
Pray for our souls, murmur your sad amens;
And while the gold and scarlet flame ascends
Let he who best can play upon the lyre,
Pluck slow regretful notes of deep desire,
Sing subtle songs of love that never ends.
and when at last the embers growing cold
Gather ye up our ashes in an urn
Of porphyry, and seek a forest old
There underneath some vast and mighty oak
choose ye our grave, spread over us a cloak
Of woven violets and filmy fern.

Lonely Souls 2
When friends are few
and no one talks to you,
loneliness like a sleeking ghost
creeps through an open window
and endows you with a cloak
to smother you with emptiness.
It leads you through the desolation
that erodes your soul
and into the epos of despair.
No lifelines are thrown
and an engaging silence halos around you.
You life is held in limbo and going nowhere.
Tears like a fountain spring fall
and you ask yourself why.
Is there no one out there
who even wants to say hi?
Is everyone too busy as they pass by
to say a word or two?
However before you do please remember
there are plenty out there
who are lonely souls like me.

Harlem Hues
Colours splash across wet streets
from flashing neon signs,
some are vibrant and filled with life,
and some are dormant and almost dead.
Colours noticed by no one
in their race with life.
Some twinkle like starbursts
when thrown up by tyres
replicating dreams
as each colour mimics life
within the Harlem hues.

GINGER SNAPS...by talile ali
ONE OF THE STRANGEST TRUTHS, I GUESS
I ALWAYS KNOW GIRLS THAT I WANT TO UNDRESS
IT SEEMS KINDA STRANGE, BUT WHAT CAN I SAY
IF THEY LIKE GINGER SNAP'S, I KNOW THAT I'LL GET MY WAY
CHORUS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
I AM SUCH A FAN OF THOSE GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
SEND ME THE WOMEN I NEED
I SAID IT WAS STRANGE, BUT I'M NOT MAKING IT UP
IF THEY LIKE GINGER SNAPS, I'LL BE EATIN THEM UP
MAYBE IT'S JUST MY THINKIN, BUT I CAN SAY I FEEL
THE SIMPLE FACT TO ME STEPS INTO THE SURREAL
CHORUS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
I AM SUCH A FAN OF THOSE GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
GINGER SNAPS
SEND ME THE WOMEN I NEED

How did thy human hand paint me better than God's love did give?
In brush strokes obscure and despondent colors mine soul does live
Thou art a God with human hand which create my heart's thorns crown
And in thy sorrows for my life sorrow we pensively brood we search down
Deep in the kingdom of God which no man rule but our soul, our will's king
We hear not just our own sorrow cry, but the angels of sorrow melancholy sing
Let the blood flow down thy face and the aureole of love's light seep in
Look at thy face and let thy soul purge, life's vain hope thy life's mortal sin.
Rome's power, Jewish law, I wear it scarlet in my sorrowful raiment; Rome's mocking cloak
The blood of the God's lamb and the blood of the earth's meek sweetly soak
My heart, my manhood, the imperfect man and all his sin did not know
That the love I give, the love I live, is the love I forever show
In this painting of God's man hands and despondent souls who despair in glow…
Touch my face and let tears flow into my heart, forever I live and forever I love, thine sorrow grow.

Scarlet Fever
I stood outside the Lucky Star
Staring at the flashing sign
It read: come on in and watch young
Scarlet's body come alive
Let her dance for you and catch your spell
You'll swear you can believe her
Be careful not to catch the scarlet fever.
So I paid my fare and walked down front
And found an empty chair
As I settled in young scarlet took the ribbons from her hair
The moves her body made while the music played
Were the likes I've never seen
And she became the envy of my dreams.
One by one her teasing movements
Brought the crowd out of their seats
And all at once young scarlet
Danced straight up in front of me
From the moment that her eyes found mine
I've never been the same
Scarlet locked another heart upon her chain.
Now I get scarlet fever every time I see her
But she's a night club teaser
Not paid to notice me
Yes, I get scarlet fever
If she knew how much I need her
She'd place her hand in my hand
And dance away with me.
She looked 25 but I was told
That she was just 16
She had a way of making a man believe
She danced for only him
As she tantalized I fantasized
And felt the sound of my heart beat
And every night I'd dream
She'd fall in love with me.
Then one night while driving in
My eyes begun to tear
'Cause the sign outside the Lucky Star
Said: scarlet isn't here
She'd left that day to find a life
Of bigger and better things
And she left behind my chain of broken dreams.
But still get scarlet fever
In my mind I still see her
Out there dancing somewhere
To another fool like me.
Yes, I get scarlet fever every time I see her
But she's a night club teaser
Not paid to notice me
Yes, I get scarlet fever
If she knew how much I need her
She'd place her hand in my hand
And dance away with me...

Winter Sunset
Roses in the sky,
Roses in the sea
Bowers of scarlet sky-roses
Take my heart and me.
God was good to make,
This December weather,
All this sky a rose-garden,
Rose and fire together.
To the East are burning
Roses in a garden,
Roses in a rosy field,
Hesper for their warden.
Yonder to the West
Roses all afire,
Mirror now some rare splendid
Rose of their desire.
Pulsing deeper, deeper,
Waves of fire throb on,
Never were such red roses
At sunset or dawn.
Roses on the hills,
Roses in the hollow,
Roses on the wet hedges,
In the shining fallow.
West wind, blow and blow!
That has blown ajar
Gates of God's great rose-garden,
Where His Angels are,
Gathering up the rose-leaves
For a shower of roses
On the night the Lord Babe
His sweet eye uncloses.
All the sky is scarlet
Flaming on the azure.
O, there's fire in Heaven
My heart aches with pleasure.
Leagues of rose and scarlet,
Roses red as blood:
All the world's a rose-garden.
God is good, is good.

Ms Chancey
Oh dear lady
Such beautiful hands
The tips of the fingers lightly
Removing the gloves
Throw them down on the floor
You flirt with…who
Those indifferent sparks
Quivering in the corner of your eyes
Which many times
Called themselves little devils
But you don't sing
Fortuna
Scarlet heart
Today honey
You don't sing
Am I right
Something went wrong
Ms Chencey
Quite down those unending
Winding ways of an autumn
Down an evil September
Ominous
Scarlet heart
Today you don't sing
Not even Fortuna
You don't sing at all
Ms Chancey
Those wheels of yours
I've broken them you see
You cannot flirt with me
Sorry
I'm just too ‘lucky' for your spell

Thoughts Mind Soul Echoes
thoughts like children
scatter from our mind
thoughts were part of us?
thoughts came from us?
thoughts live beyond us?
thoughts outlive our lives?
thoughts mind soul echoes
haunting fragments of mind
light shines through prisms
separates into colour bands
thought trails sunset colours
spectrum ribbons thoughts
spiral into keen conceptions
meaning insight discriminates
