Guidance To A Better Life

Many of us seek out
those older and wiser than ourselves
for the guidance to a better life.
We seek out the old and wiser
learning from the mistakes they made
so as we travel down the same path
we know which pitfalls to look out for
with guidance to a better life.
We can take less wrong turns
and journey forward in the knowledge
we will not make the mistakes they made.
We know life is never easy
so we seek out the guidance
from who have lived it longer than us,
those older and wiser than ourselves
for the guidance to a better life.
Then one day when we are as old as they,
we can pass on our knowledge to those young
who need guidance to a better life.

Guidance

When I walk.
Which path do I follow?
Who will tell me?
The high road or low.

Who do I ask?
What is right
or will be wrong?
Who will be my sight?

When times grow hard
and temptations abound.
Who will show me
safe detour around?

Guidance I seek.
To whom can I turn?
From what wise sage
wisdom can I learn?

That truth I chase
so often elusive.
Frustration abounds
to the point of abusive.

So many times
my efforts are checked
by demons of doubt and fear.
Still I shall not be deterred.

The path of truth
the only way I seek.
With guidance it I shall find.
No longer must I be weak.

Parental Guidance

You say I waste my life away
But I live it to the full
How would you know anyway
You're just mister dull
Why don't you get into the things we do today
You could lose twenty years right away
So we say

We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here
We don't need no
No no no
Parental guidance here

Every day you scream at me
To turn the music low
Well if you keep on screaming
You'll make me deaf you know.
You always chew me out

Open My Heart

Verse 1
Alone in a room
Its just me and you
I feel so lost
cause I dont know what to do
Now what if choose the wrong thing to do
Im so afraid, afraid of disappointing you
Chorus
So I need to talk to you
And ask you for your guidance
Especially today
When my life is so cloudy
Guide me until Im sure
I open up my heart
Verse 2
My hopes and dreams
Are fading fast
Im all burned out
And I dont think my strenghts gonna last
So Im crying out
Crying out to you
Lord I know that youre the only one
Who is able to pull me through
Chorus
So I need to talk to you
And ask you for your guidance
Especially today
When my life is so cloudy
Guide me until Im sure
I open up my heart
Bridge
So show me how
To do things your way
Dont let me make the same mistakes
Over and over again
Your will be done
And Ill be the one
To make sure the its carried out
And in me, I dont want any doubt
Thats why...
Chorus
I need to talk to you
And ask you for your guidance
Especially today
When my life is a little bit cloudy
Guide me until Im sure
I open up my heart
Chorus 2
All I need to do
Is hear a single word from you
I open up my heart
Just one word could make
A difference in what I do lord
I open my heart to you
Youre the lover of my soul
Captain of my sea
I need a word from you
Thats why I open up my heart

D. W. Suite

Written by lindsey buckingham.
A tribute to the late dennis wilson of the beach boys.
A. the wish
If we go, go insane
We can all go together
In this wild, wanton world
We can all break down forever . . .
I want to go, go forever
I want to go, go forever
It's just a memory
It's just a memory
It's just a memory . . .
Gone forever . . .
Gone forever . . .
B. the prayer
The closing of a chapter
The opening of a door
Brings forth life
Where there was no life before
I won't be here; i'll be watching from above
Always do you should
Always be good
And when push comes to shove
Pray for guidance from above
Shadow all your hopes with love
Live your life without a doubt
Outside in, inside out
Pray for guidance from above
Shadow all your hopes with love
Never be afraid, never be afraid
Pray for guidance from above
The closing of a chapter
The opening of a door
Brings forth life
Where there was no life before.
C. the reflection

God’s Helping Hand

Let The Lord help you today, to find the path of His favored Way,
God’s Way unto abundant Life, the way above the grief and strife.
The helping hand of The Lord, will intervene when He’s implored,
As men seek God’s helping hand, in ways we cannot understand.

God’s helping hand, full of Grace, can help you any time or place,
When you truly desire to live for Him, in this world of darkened sin.
God wants to lead us in His Light, on a path that is pure and right,
So all men can come to know, that He’s a God who loves them so.

God’s hand above is lifted friend, for pending Judgment in the end,
Judgment that’s not destined for, all those men who love The Lord.
For God’s helping hand truly is, His heavenly guide to earthly bliss,
Anchored in The Savior’s Love, sent from The Spirit of God above.

God’s guidance is available to all, leading to Grace from man’s fall,
Where we can meet at the cross, The One who died for all the lost,
Christ who was pierced for you, so you can seek His Guidance too.
Where from the cross of Calvary, Jesus Christ will guide to Eternity.

Jesus Christ who died for all of us, now lives so we can put our trust,
In The One who died for man’s sin, so eternally we can live with Him.
Through God you can be assured, you will find life in Christ our Lord,
For the moment you come to Christ, God shall grant you Eternal Life.

I Seek To Hear God Guide

Your enemy aint here in me.
I refuse to breathe that life you see.
Or stay prolonged on bended knees.

I seek,
To hear God guide.

When I listen I believe.
I'm to follow not to lead.
And rise above those petty pleas...
Of who says what just to compete.
God's guidance is what I seek.

I seek,
To hear God guide.
I seek,
To hear God guide.
I seek,
To hear God guide.

God guides me both day and night.
God is always by my side.

Your enemy aint here in me.
I refuse to breathe that life you see.
Or stay prolonged on bended knees.

Oh I seek,
To hear God guide.
I seek,
To hear God guide.
I seek,
To hear God guide.
God guides me both day and night.
God is always by my side.

Oh I seek,
To hear God guide.
I seek,
To hear God guide.
Oh I seek,
To hear God guide.
God guides me both day and night.

When I listen I believe.
I'm to follow not to lead.
And rise above those petty pleas...
Of who says what just to compete.
God's guidance is what I seek.

Oh I seek,
To hear God guide.
Oh I seek,
To hear God guide.
Cause God guides me both day and night.
And God is always by my side.

We Need Inspiration

What do I do now
NOT KNOWING WHICH WAY IS UP
Where do I go from here
What do I do
What can I do
WHEN I DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT ME
BESIDES MY NAME AND EVEN THAT
SUBJECT TO CHANGE
So what do I do
I AM LOST CONFUSED
PRAYING THAT SOME ONE
MAY HELP TELL ME WHO
I AM AND WHERE I AM FROM
GUIDANCE IS ALL I NEED
NO NOT GUIDANCE
GUIDANCE IS
A EUPHEMISM FOR DICTATORSHIP
I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS
BUT HOW CAN I WHEN I DON'T
KNOW UP FROM DOWN
I AM JUST MEANDERING THROUGH THE WORLD
HOPING THAT I MAY SOMEHOW
COME ACROSS SOMETHING GOOD
BUT WHY GO SEARCHING
I COULD MAKE SOMETHING GOOD HERE
BUT what and how
WITH NO IDEA WHAT
DIRECTION UP MAY BE
SO I SEARCH NOT FOR THE GOOD STUFF
BUT THE INGREDIENTS YOU NEED TO MAKE IT
AS IF IT'S SOME EXOTIC RECIPE I SEARCH HIGH AND LOW
NOT KNOWING WHICH IS WHICH
NOT KNOWING WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR
OR WHAT I AM LOOKING AT
AND THEN IN DESPAIR I CALL TO GOD
FOR INSPIRATION
AND REALIZE THAT IS ALL I NEED
ALL I HAVE EVER NEEDED
ALL ANYONE NEEDS
ALL WE NEED IS INSPIRATION
AND ALL OF OUR WILDEST
FANTASIES WILL COME TRUE

A past mistakes

Did i learn from past mistakes?
Did i attempt to to retake?
The lost ground and claim glory
Have i ever felt sorry?

It is easy going and not taken seriously
Letting opportunity slip continuously
As escaping the life miraculously
No bid for full thrust and wonder aimlessly

Seldom you try rise to the occasion
You action is not full hardy and raises many questions
It may pay you no award
You will be denied full reward

One has to be fully contended
The thrust has to be well intended
It is to learn from past and surge ahead
No to cry for split milk and positively lead

I shall have to mend the ways
It is useful and guidance always
The things can’t turn bright all of sudden
You will have to make all out efforts even

It is not the correct way to sit idle
Some one has to be made as your idol
Try to have inspiration from his contribution to the cause
You must strive hard, work relentlessly and not pause

It may look all philosophical talk
It may help us really when in life we walk
The life is meaningless without any talent
You have think twic before giving consent

What else can be decisive factor?
It may be faced in any sector
You got to emerge as victorious
But the efforts have to be continuous

Not to look back but march towards destiny
It may be looked as idealism to many
No other way is left to think over
You need proper guidance and cover

Living My Life

I’m living my life the way I want to
No one’s going to tell me what to do.
I’ve got to make my own mistakes
And if it’s wrong then it’s my fate.

You’ve already lived your life and like most
Mistakes you’ve made quite a few
That is what we all seem to do.
I’ll make mine so I can’t pass the blame
And I’ll hang my head in shame.

I am young and a teen, and there is
So much in life to be seen.
I’ll make mistakes, I know that’s true
But it’s something that I have to do.

I love you mom and dad, and I know you care
But you can’t live my life
It’s just not fair.
You should know for you went through the same
And on your parents “ did you pass the blame? ”

The dress, the talk, the way we look at life
We do not think about it once or twice.
We just do what’s in that style
And we’ll grow out of it in a little while.

Trust your children “ mom and dad”
For your future is our plan.

The Intellect And The Heart

One day Intellect said to the heart
'A guide to the misguided ones I am

Being on the earth I reach up to the sky
Look, how deep in comprehension I am

Guidance on earth is my sole occupation
Like the auspicious Khidr 1 in character I am

Interpreter of the book of life I am
The Manifestation of God's Glory I am

You are only a dropp of blood, but
The invaluable ruby's envy I am'

Hearing this the heart said, 'All this is true
But look at me as well, what I am

You understand the secrets of life
But seeing them with my own eyes I am

Concerned with the manifest order you are
And acquainted with the inward I am

Learning is from you, but Divine Knowledge is from me
You only seek Divinity, but showing Divinity I am

Restlessness is the end of Knowledge 2
But the remedy for that malady I am

You are the candle of the assembly of Truth
The lamp of the Divine Beauty's assemblage I am

You are related to time and space
The bird recognizing the Sidrah 3 I am

Look at the grandeur of my station
The throne of the God of Majesty I am

Guidance Absence Prudence

“God chooses
God keeps secrets
too many secrets”

far too many
guidance is there any
for life decisions heavy?

We need a little guidance
more faith more patience
forbearance offers balance.

I Sit Back And Think

I sit back and think
What do young ones really know?
How to be a mother
A friend who really knows
Then you meet a young person
With ideals and their dreams
And suddenly your face
With an adult not a kid
You know not their past
Of teething and games
That’s a life you have with your own

You look past the youthful
Way that they are
And let them be humans
And live life to the full
We use to be young
At one stage of our lives
What makes us different?
Is were older and wiser
So we like to think

So I say with a smile
To young adults of this world
I bow down low and say
Hello my friend
We may be much older
And wiser we think
But at times you surprise us
With love and wisdom
That is beyond all your years
And yes I bow and acknowledge you all
Simply because you’re our future
Leaders of tomorrow
Good luck to you all

The Elevated Places (Chapter 7, Verses 191-193, Holy Koran)

I ask for refuge to Allah from Satan the exiled evildoer.
In the name of Allah the Kind and the Merciful Giver.

Do they associate with Him that
Which cannot create anything
While they themselves are all created being
And they are unable to provide them help
Nor can they help themselves
And if you invite them to guidance
They won't listen
So it doesn't make any difference
Whether you invite them to guidance
Or keep up silence.

Sonnet: On Knowledge

Knowledge is one thing priceless, people want;
Knowledge is something gained by labor long;
Knowledge is infinite; master, you-can't;
Knowledge is changeable, much like a song.

Knowledge is deeper than the oceans deep;
Knowledge is larger than the Universe;
Knowledge is barely in life, just a peep;
Knowledge if badly used becomes God's curse.

Knowledge remains undiminished, tho' you- share;
Knowledge gives man, a civilised outlook;
Knowledge if improper, you ought to pare;
Knowledge is gained from Nature and by book.
Knowledge can make a man a wiser one;
Knowledge gives Wisdom in the longer run.

Adrift In Life

Adrift in life without a course, not plugged into a Heavenly Source,
Moved about by the waves in life, with no reliance on Jesus Christ,
Moved along without direction, by choice without Godly discretion,
Looking for other sources to cope, drifting in life without real hope.

We need true guidance from God, not from man with a worldly nod,
This will lead one further astray; from the Truth that God has to say,
So it is God’s lead, we must take, in all the decisions that we make,
To walk, not drift through our days, walking with God, to His Praise.

Only God can help those adrift, when they’re found in a spiritual rift,
Who are separated from the light, mingling in the darkness of night,
Living life with little thought of, The Lord and Savior reigning above,
As from Him they carelessly stray, living on their own day after day.

Truth upon you God will not force, but, He’s not an alternate source,
All guidance must come from Him, while in a world darkened by sin,
God must be involved in the plan, in the life of every believing man,
Not simply involved but to lead, as God’s Truth we prayerfully read.

In a world of trouble and strife, we must trust to God our whole life,
Not simply to trust, but to obey, when a thought tempts us to stray,
No longer to drift along in life, but, to follow our Lord, Jesus Christ,
While receiving Blessing from God, lead by Christ’s Staff and Rod.

Life

Life is measured by consequences and deeds
How one lived their life and helped those in need
By the journeys taken and the dreams we did seek
And not accepting sin or temptation when the soul was weak

Life always begins here and it ends way over there
It starts with a birth and always ends with a prayer
Loved ones will remember with a kindness and care
As sinners and the unrighteous will be remembered with a stare

Life is learning every day as we get older
To say no to temptation and yes to truth as we get bolder
In life our journey must be truthful and straight forward
Not a life of lying and cheating and looking over ones shoulder.

Life Alone

Time passes hoping for a helper,
a mire of rejection recieved in his shelter.
Journey alone, training to be brave,
to face a group of soldiers who are coming like a wave.
Trying to seek refuge but still a loner,
thoughts troubling him like a big moner.
Wanting a leader to show him the way,
otherwise without guidance might go astray.
Yet sober and listless crying tears that never fall,
hoping there will be a light which lies among them all.
Clues and plans are yet to unravel,
yet a sign of hope in him is still to travel.
That is in this world of darkness there will be light,
which will only be revealed if he fights with all his might.
Life has been so cruel to a person like him,
for him to travel and to seek a better whim.
Answers is still to be answered and battles to be fought,
walking miles together through a land of drought.
Time passes hoping for a helper,
still searching who will be his true saviour.

An Arrow

We listen to many things
in our willingness to learn.
Our teachers guide us
to the knowledge,
the wellspring
where we might learn.
However, guidance isn’t wisdom
only an arrow leading to it.
It’s up to us to choose
which wisdom that we seek
and nurture it with loving care
so like and infant it might grow.
