All That We Have
To survive all that we have survived
to live all that we have lived
to feel all that we have felt
to see all that we have seen
to be all that we have been
Are we blessed
or are we cursed

Blessed To Be Cursed
I awaken early,
With thoughts that seem...
Already out of date.
Already out of time.
Already...
I feel I am too late.
Bombarded I am,
With images that feed.
And some I feel,
I am not yet ready to taste.
Am I cursed or blessed?
At times I feel in between.
And aging hasn't made this attraction,
Any easier for me...
It seems.
Am I cursed or blessed?
OR blessed to be cursed?
Is it possible to enjoy something,
And not quench that thirst?
I awaken early,
With thoughts that seem...
Already out of date.
Already out of time.
Already...
I feel I am too late.
Bombarded I am,
With images that feed.
And some I feel,
I am not yet ready to taste...
Although I enjoy,
Achieving those impossible dreams.
Am I cursed or blessed?
OR blessed to be cursed?
Is it possible to enjoy something,
And not quench that thirst?
And I think to myself...
'What am I getting out of this?
How am I benefitting,
When I am the last to think of myself first! '

Before Your Love
I wonder how I ever made it through a day
How did I settle for a world with shades of gray?
When you go in circles all the scenery looks the same
And you don't know why
Then I looked into your eyes
And the road stretched out in front of me
And I realized
Chorus:
I never lived
Before your love
I never felt
Before your touch
I never needed anyone to make me feel alive
But then again
I wasn't really living
I never lived
Before your love
I wanted more than just an ordinary life
All of my dreams seemed like castles in the sky
I stand before you and my heart is in your hands
And I don't know how
I survived without your kiss
Cause you've given me a reason to exist
Chorus
I never lived before your love
And I don't know why
Why the sun decides to shine
But you breathed your love into just in time
I never lived
Before your love
I never felt
Before your touch
I never needed anyone to make me feel alive
But then again
I wasn't really living
I never lived
I never lived
Before your love

Researching of Your Rebirth
None of it has been rehearsed.
The researching of your rebirth.
Every detail of it has been lived.
And moments of it,
You had felt neglected and cursed.
No steps first awakened,
Came with ease.
No temptation tasted,
Lasted to please.
Few you met...
Had souls complete,
Of truth and honesty.
Although you held onto the myth...
Everyone you knew,
Was born with a goodness,
To free joy and happiness...
Within them existed
None of it has been rehearsed.
The researching of your rebirth.
Every detail of it has been lived.
And moments of it,
You had felt neglected and cursed.
From the moment of your first birth.
Now on a path of enlightenment.
Accepting reality as it is meant.
Freed from beliefs that decreased as you grew.
Comprehending this,
Increased your higher consciousness.
And you realize the clarity before your eyes.
None of it has been rehearsed.
The researching of your rebirth.
Every detail of it has been lived.
And moments of it,
You had felt neglected and cursed.
But what has been revealed...
At first may hurt.
Until acceptance heals!
To allow the growth from a stunting to bloom!
Waiting for you to decide to give it room...
To rise above and beyond,
Limitations of despair that keeps one teased.

Alone At Sea
Alone I lay on a wooden raft
Alone I stay in the dark
Alone I pray to survive
Alone I may not survive
Alone I look out to the sea
Alone I wake up on the sea
Alone I reach out for help
Alone I may not survive
Alone I eat my dry food
Alone I drink the salty water
Alone I sit in the cold
Alone I may not survive
Alone, yes, alone I stare at the storm
Alone, yes, alone I live on the sea
Alone, yes, alone I wait for the rescue boat
Alone, yes, alone I may not survive
Alone, yes, alone I pray to be safe
Alone, yes, alone I call out for help
Alone, yes, alone I get on the boat
Alone, yes, alone I was rescued
Alone, yes, alone I lived on the sea for months
And alone, yes, alone I walked ashore unaided

Turn
I want to see what people saw
I want to feel like I felt before
I want to see the kingdom come
I want to feel forever young
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a world where I belong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn

Little Black Boy
A Little Black boy was born one late winter day.
He’d be lucky if he survive through the night the doctor did say.
But he did more than survived.
The little black boy lived.
And yeah problem arose because he did not have enough air to breathe.
He ended up with Cerebral Palsy.
But that did not stop that little black boy.
In fact it gave him the will to fight even more.
He had trouble with speech he could barely be heard.
But he overcame that and became a master of spoken word.
My life is not over but this part of it I felt need to be told.
Because I’m proud to admit I was and am that little black boy.
I Will Survive
(f.perren & d.fekaris)
(this is dedicated to my girls)
At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin I could never live without you by my side
Then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so youre back from outer space
I just walked in to find you here, with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second youd be back to bother me
Go on now, go walk out the door
Just turn around now
coz youre not welcome anymore
Werent you the one who tried to break me with goodbye?
Did you think Id crumble?
Did you think Id lay down and die?
Oh no not i, I will survive
For as long as I know how to love, I know Ill stay alive
Ive got all my life to live
And Ive got all my love to give
Ill survive
I will survive
Hey hey
(i, I will survive)
Hey hey
(i, I will survive)
Every day
(i, I will survive)
Oh yeah
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Just trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart
And I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry, but now I hold my head up high
And you see me, somebody new
Im not that chained up little person still in love with you
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free
But now Im savin all my lovin for someone whos lovin me
Go on now, go walk out the door
Just turn around now
Youre not welcome anymore
Werent you the one who tried to break me with goodbye?
Did you think Id crumble?
Did you think Id lay down and die?
Oh no not i, I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love, I know Ill stay alive
Ive got all my life to live
And Ive got all my love to give
Ill survive
I will survive
Hey hey
Go now, go walk out the door
Just turn around now
coz youre not welcome anymore
Werent you the one who tried to break me with goodbye?
Did you think Id crumble?
Did you think Id lay down and die?
Oh no not i, I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love, I know Ill stay alive
Ive got all my life to live
And Ive got all my love to give
Ill survive
I will survive
I will survive
(i, I will survive)
Hey
(i, I will survive)
Every day
(i, I will survive)
Yeah yeah
(i, I will survive)
Oh
(i, I will survive)
I will survive
(i, I will survive)
(i, I will survive)
Ive got all my love to give
(i, I will survive)
Ive got all my life to live
(i, I will survive)
My loving is not in vain, oh no
(i, I will survive)
I will survive
(i, I will survive)
I will survive
(i, I will survive)
Hey

Baby I Love U!
Baby I never knew I could feel
The way I felt when I felt the way
You were feeling me baby Im so out ofcontrol, yeah
Eveytime you look my way
I relize more and more
How much I adore those pretty eyes
Of yours Im helpless baby
What I wanna know is
Are you willing to try
Can you love me for a lifetime
In just one night
(chours)
Baby I love you (love you)
Baby I need you(need you)
I gotta have you(gotta have you babe)
Cant be without you
(repeat)
Blessed and cursed on the same day
The day that I first felt the power of you
Inside of me, such a strong feeling
There comes a time in everyones life
When you know, and everyone around you knows
That everything is changed,
Youre not the same, its a new day
Oh what I wanna know is,
Are you willing to try
Theres gotta be more meaning to this
Than what meets the eye
Baby I love you
Baby I need you
I gotta have you
Cant be without you
Oh, I love the way you kiss mee
Oh, baby please
Im about to lose my mind
0h talk to me, cause Im begging for you
And Im down on my knees
Baby, I know youre the one that I need
Baby I love you(love you)
Baby I need you(need you)
I gotta have you(gotta have you babe)
Cant live without you(be without you)

I play the stereo loud
When Im away from the maddening crowd
Smokin, jokin
Clowns we all are
Sometimes, kinda get real ill
When I receive my monthly telephone bill
But you say it, and Ill pay it
cause it just helps me to
Chorus:
Survive (survive), stay alive
til I see you again
Survive, stay alive
Cant say where it ends
Clouds lift and therere mountains below
Been awhile since Ive seen any snow
Its chillin, so thrillin, so good to be back
Feels nice, to be home for awhile
Lets sip champagne till we break into smiles
Well go dancin, romancin
cause youre the reason i
Chorus:
Survived (survived), stayed alive
Through the thick and the thin
Survive, stay alive
Where will it all end
But my bags aint unpacked
cause Ive got to go back and play
But I know well both
Chorus:
Survive (survive), stay alive
Through the thick and the thin
Survive, stay alive
Until it all ends
Oh well, survive (survive), stay alive
When will it all end
Survive, stay alive
Till I see you again

Two Flags
Some people are born under two flags.
Their parents are of two countries
and this is the situation of me.
I live under one flag,
but wish I lived under the other.
For a while, I lived under the other flag
and felt the world belong to me.
Now I live under the one flag
and everything seems to be taken from me.
Those who inspire my life
live under the other flag.
While the ones whose flag I live under
fail to recognise the potential within me.
It is a dilemma I face everyday,
whether to go or to stay.
However I am not the only one,
there must be many more just like me
who live under two flags
and wish they lived under the one farthest away.

God Has Blessed
God has blessed our lives
God has helped us to survive
In all life's pleasures 'n pains
In all sorts of losses 'n gains
God has blessed our lives
God has helped us to survive
And has kept our spirits high
In all life's weather cool or dry
God has blessed our lives
God has helped us to survive
And he is the one who has shown
Life's nice days and bright morns
God has blesses our lives
God has helped us to survive
And he has given us sunshine
In the form of parent's loving wine.

Unload the Excess Baggage
I am not the one,
To walk around validating...
Every pinch felt from an illness.
Or am I the one to carry pain,
As if I've been awarded...
A medal for valor and honor.
Each day as I pray...
And after I awaken,
I feel tremendously blessed...
That God has pulled my sisters and I,
Through much heartbreak and stress.
We, in those days, believed we needed to address.
And when I hear some folks,
Making excuses for mistakes they've made...
I can go through any day,
Without seeking to be medicated.
To fake my feelings to numb the aches.
I want to keep it real.
That's how I feel.
I am not the one,
To walk around validating...
Every pinch felt from an illness.
Nor am I the one,
Seeking to skate through a life...
Speeded by an easy breeze.
God has blessed me!
And I know this.
And there is nothing better I can do...
Than to hold my head up,
And unload the excess baggage.
To live the best life feeling grateful.
And blessed to be able to confess it!

Survival Shake
This is no story its the key of existence
A little thing you better not forget
I dont know nothing bout its a water-resistance
Why dont you use your head
And survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
Survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
So tell me darling what you wanna be
A welcome idiot in an appletree
I shake you up and I shake you down
Down to the ground
To survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
Survive, survive
All you got to do is to survive
You just got one life
All you got to do is to survive
You just got one life
So better be careful boy
Survive, survive, survive...

Our Survival
We shall survive distance.
We shall survive space.
But can we survive the loneliness
that we have to face?
We shall survive winter.
We shall survive spring.
But can we survive the guilt
of the wedding ring?
We shall survive long nights.
We shall survive days.
But can we survive the longings
that always and forever stays?
We shall survive suspicion.
We shall survive fear.
But can we survive living
without each other, dear?
We shall survive all of this
if we put our love first.
We shall survive hunger.
We shall survive thirst
only if this love is true.

A Born Survivor
He is old, he is fragile.
He is my grandfather.
He has fought everyone and everything.
He will protect me from illness,
Why can't I do the same?
He survived my mothers' dreadful battles,
His parent's death.
What if he can't survive the cancer?
I want him to live forever and ever,
Two hundred years even!
He said he will love me no matter what I do,
Even if I walk out of my parent's life,
He will support me all the way.
If he dies, I won't survive anything,
Not life,
Not breathing,
My heart will stop beating.

Pep Talk
How dare I
feel sorry for myself?
My trials are so small,
so insignificant
beside the agony
so many others
must survive.
Do not all men struggle?
Already so blessed,
my arrogant, self pity
is the height of
insensitivity.
The time has past
for the luxury of tears.
I must dry my eyes
and live on.

It Was Me Who Let You Keep Me On Hold
It is not about you.
Although it had been,
For a number of years.
I awakened in a new mood.
And it was not attitude.
It was a consciousness.
No longer did I feel a need,
To be there for others...
Without my own needs addressed.
I am addressing my needs.
And you may believe it is selfishness.
After I awakened I just cared about what I felt.
And I feel blessed to realize,
Part of my life has been kept...
To live in the pleasing of myself.
It is not about you.
Although it had been,
For a number of years.
Now it is about me!
My needs and wants.
With desires missed I have yet to live.
It is not about you.
It was.
And it was me who let you keep me on hold.

Blessed child,
Blessed child,
Blessed child,
You will live to see Eternity,
Either way,
There is the blessed in your love,
Let it reign,
Maybe you are blessed than any other,
You will not die blessed child,
You will live to see Heaven in your heart,
Either way you are a blessed child,
I can see it in your eye's,
That you are far much blessed.

Know Your Life
You've got to be,
Alive.
You've got to be,
A lion loose.
You've got to feel...
Your juices pumping,
And...
Goose bumps to chill you too!
You've got to grow,
Up to cope.
You've got to accept,
And to let go.
You've got to be,
Both strong and weak...
To...
Stand and walk on two feet.
To know,
Life.
Yes,
To know...
Your life.
You've got to be,
Alive.
You've got to be,
A lion loose.
You've got to feel...
Your juices pumping,
And...
Goose bumps to chill you too!
To know,
Life.
Yes,
To know...
Your life.
To live your life...
Knowing it was given to live.
To live your life...
As a gift blessed to get to live.
To live your life...
Knowing it was given to live.
To live your life...
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to be,
Alive.
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to feel...
Your juices pumping,
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to feel...
Those goose bumps that come to chill.
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to be,
Both strong and weak.
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to...
Stand and walk on two feet.
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to...
Stand and walk on two feet.
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to...
Know your life,
As a gift blessed to get to live.
You've got to...
Know your life,
As a gift.
You gotta,
Let go of unrest to know...
With that moanin' gone to go.
You gotta,
Let go of unrest to know,
With that moanin' gone to go.
You gotta,
Let go of unrest to know...
With that moanin' gone to.
You gotta,
Know your life!
And...
Live it righteous.
Know your life!
And...
Live it righteous.
