We got lucky tonight
I'm standing still on my drive
I hear the crowd marching on
the road with their heads held high
holding the most love I've ever saw
all as one with signs saying stop the war.
Mothers who have lost their sons
claimed as heroes they are dead
due to oil and the bulls eye guns
you run from
propaganda, goverments and queens
as I follow the marines.
But now I watch my mother cry
marching with her sign held high.
So where are you?
where ever you are?
if you are at work?
or sat in your car?
if you are at home?
or when you get home
turn on your tv
watch the news
watch the news
if a soldier has not died
then we got lucky tonight.
My mother watches it
and she doesnt know I am by her side.

Reaching High (demo)
I stand alone
on the street Where I have walked you home alone
I see your house, I hear your main gates moan
I watch two silhouettes turn into one
And then you're gone
Your name upon the door, the heartbreak's home
I make a call, you disconnect the phone
I watch two silhouettes turn into one
Reaching high, reaching high
My love was once a flame
Now I'm putting out the fire, with a pocket full of rain
Yea yea
I don't know why
you kept me hanging on all this time
I hear the drums on Radio Goodbye,
I watch the shadow dancing in the night, tonight
I see the car,
your hunter rides a silver Jaguar
And how I'd like a star before the sun.
I watch two silhouettes turn into one
Reaching high...

Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree
Don't sit under the apple tree
With anyone else but me
Anyone else but me
Anyone else but me
No no no
Don't sit under the apple tree
With anyone else but me
'til I come marching home
Don't go walking down lovers lane
With anyone else but me
Anyone else but me
Anyone else but me
No no no
Don't go walking down lovers lane
With anyone else but me
'til I come marching home
I just got word from a guy who heard
From the guy next door to me
The girl he met just loved to pet
And fits you to a "T"
So don't sit under the apple tree
With anyone else but me
'til I come marching home
Don't give out with those lips of yours
To anyone else but me
Anyone else but me
Anyone else but me
No no no
Watch the girls on the foreign shores
You'll have to report to me
When you come marching home
You're on your own
When there is no phone and I can't keep tab on you
Be fair to me I'll garuantee
This is one thing that I'll do
I won't sit under the apple tree
With anyone else but you
'til you come marching home
Don't sit under the apple tree
With anyone else but me
I know the apple tree
Is reserved for you and me
And I'll be true
'til you come marching home

Kargil Warfare
Words shall never describe
what a soldier is
with a family brave
loosing in wars
all they have
yet smiling to the nation's pride
such is what a soldier is
for when they came with guns and arms
the soldier faced it all
heads held high
for the nation
he was ready to die
such is the sacrifice a soldier makes
and yes!
words shall never describe
what a soldier is
Kargil was the place
this time the fight was for mother land
the soldier could not be held
he marched
without fear
smoke rose high
there on the dusty land
fought the soldier
with no fear of death
he knew beneath
he had to win
and yes he did
his land he saved
but lost many his friends
and we salute
bow our head
for our words shall never describe
what a soldier is.

See You See Me
Where is the rhyme, where is the reason
Who stands to judge me in this way
Some call it choice, some call it treason
Why find me guilty on this day
Stay home and watch it on T.V.
Stay home and watch it on T.V.
See you - See me
Now is the time, now is the season
When we should have something to say
You keep your faith, I'll keep my freedom
Why should we listen anyway
Stay home and watch it on T.V
Stay home and watch it on T.V
See you - See me
How is there no way of pleasing
And who has the answer of the day
When will they stop all of the squeezing
Why should we play the game their way
Stay home and watch it on T.V
Stay home and watch it on T.V
See you - See me
Stay home and watch it on T.V
Stay home and watch it on T.V
See you - See me

In The Eyes Of An Modern Day Aristocrat
Coverage deciding and yet meaningless.
Who are you but a mere shadow held with little regard.
Still it doesn't stop them from their approach.
These little cockroaches lets crush them.
Here's a million give it to the men with the guns and lets sit back and watch the fun.
For your personal entertainment we proudly present.
More like resent the fact, of being bought.
But of the choices that sit before us what can one do.
A deluge of propaganda and plausible denial-ability.
Responsibility what is that?
It is not our fault, it is but the squatters of this meagre society.
They bring nothing to table, so we are holding all the cards.
And we will play them as we see fit.
You can't do nothing about it like it or not.
So just watch as we take your home and make you sleep on street like the dog you are.
Money talks, and the poor must walk.
While we drive in prestigious cars.
Maim and marred they aren't even fit sit in our presence without being cleaned up.
Disgusting and homely.
We are so much better then them.
For we stole everything they had without them even taking notice.
Not even a blink of an eye.
So we don't have to make any compromises.
We've earned every penny by an illusion of a given credit.
So tell me do you regret it?

As you watch television tonight
As you watch television tonight
Spare a thought about me somewhere
Between the intervals AND squeeze a thought
About me for that one lingering moment
They're sure to say something about me
I've long been out of the popularity stakes
I'm sure I'm part of the seven o'clock news
They might show parts of my mangled body
Or they may show me as part of that happy crowd
Be sure to watch me on T.V tonight maybe I might
Be alive or dead it don't matter what shape you
See me in because you never cared anyway so watch
Television tonight and go to sleep happy that
You've finally really got rid of me

Unexpected Father.
Your mother
had brought Helen
home for tea after school
and she had held on
to the handle
of the pram
your mother pushed
and you walked
along side
thinking of whether
to show her
your toy soldiers
and cowboys and Indians
and the guns
that fired
loud banging caps
or whether to just sit
and watch the TV
and eat your tea
and show her nothing
but once you got home
and your mother went off
to the kitchen to prepare
the tea stuff and such
Helen looked at you
and shyly smiled
and said
Can I see your sister's dolls
and pram
and does she have
a doll's house
I could play with?
you dismissed the idea
of showing her
the guns that fired caps
or your toy soldier collection
and took her
into the room
where you kept the toys
and pointed to
your sister's dolls
and the pram
and said
Take care
my sister doesn't like
people messing
with her stuff
and Helen nodded
and picked up a doll
and held it to her chest
and rocked it
to and fro
and walked up and down
murmuring there there sounds
that echoed softly
around the room
Where's your sister?
Helen asked
will she mind me
rocking the baby to sleep?
Guess not
you replied
and stood watching her
as she walked
and talked to the doll
in an undertone
and you stood there
hands in pockets
like a father
of an unexpected child
wondering what to say
or do and taking in
her thick lens glasses
and her eyes
seemingly enlarged
focusing on the doll
and the way her head
moved from side to side
so that her plaited hair
went from side to side
and up and down
and she said softly
and suddenly
We may have a baby like this
one day and you had better
say something more
than you are now
or I'll think
you didn't want it
and off she walked
up and down the room
and hoped your mother
would come soon
and save you from the fate
of being the father
of a doll with a dodgy eye
and a painted smile
but having a tender spot
for Helen
all the while.

Haunted
Treachery abstinence in consequence,
Open eyes blinded to the obvious
Right wing twitch spreading the disease
Of Idiocies conquering with ease
Tonight, Tonight I slowly bleed
Haunted by the will of unease
Shattered by the sound of your screams
Tonight, Tonight I watch you plea
Gasping for air, holding your throat
Choking feeling starts to distort
Propaganda for future wars
Nothing ever settles the score
No relief for ignorant stress
Mindless fiends under duress
Vomit from your crooked mouth
Scratch and claw you can't get out
The mocking voices never end
Pointless views are such a trend
Wish I was a holy savior
I'd turn my back on all of you
Wish you were a different person
One that wasn't so confused
Vomit from your crooked mouth
Scratch and claw you can't get out
The mocking voices never end
Pointless views are such a trend
Wish I was a cruel infection
Killing off most all of you
Wish you were a rotting corpse
Haunting all of those like you
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight I watch you bleed
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight I hear you scream
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight I watch you plea
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight I watch you bleed
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight I hear you scream

Rocket Robin Hood
Come gather around me. Space travelers surround me.
Hark now to the ballad of Rocket Robin Hood.
I may well confound you, astound you, spellbound you,
With heroes and villains, the bad and the good.
Watch now as our rockets race here from afar.
For now, with our Robin, we live on a star.
Three. Two. One. Blast off!
Band of brothers, marching together.
Heads held high in all kinds of weather.
With fiery blasts, our roaring rockets rise,
Beyond the Earth, beyond the skies!
At the sight of Robin, take your stand,
With the gallant leader of our band.
Send a joyous shout throughout the land!
For Rocket Robin Hood!

Superhero
Mother may I lay my head down
What would you say?
If all thats lost may never be found
It's gone away
I never thought it would be me
Held so high
Fell so far
Mother may I lay my head down
I'm a falling star
Superhero won't you come and take me away
Superhero won't you come save my day
If I ever could have faked it
Oh it would show
And if I ever could have made it
Would I be gold?
I never wanted to be what they even wanted me to be
And now this story ends untainted
Without me
Superhero won't you come and take me away
Superhero won't you come and fly me away
Superhero
Superhero
Superhero won't you come
Save my day
Won't you
Won't you
Won't you take me home
Won't you
Won't you
Won't you take me home
Won't you
Won't you
Won't you take
Won't you come and take me
Won't you come rescue me
Won't you come and take me
Hero
Hero
Hero
Won't you take me home
Superhero won't you come and take me away
Superhero won't you come and fly me away
Superhero
Superhero
Oh my hero
Oh my hero
Superhero won't you come save my...
Mother may I lay my head down
What would you say
If all thats lost may never be found
It's gone away
I never thought it would be me
Held so high
Fell so far

Lost & Found Pt.2 - Found Child
A baby born into addiction,
Fighting for his life before it began.
Held by his mother just once in his life,
Then he is taken from her hands.
Taken to be given a chance
To be healthy outside and in.
A chance to grow big and strong,
Free from his mother's sins.
The child has a family now
And a very loving home.
They took him in for what he was
And raised him as their own.
Years have passed since his birth
And he questions who he really is.
Looking at his loving parents
He knows thier features are not his.
One night with the television on,
And his family sitting around,
The news man tells a story
Of a tragedy across town.
A woman found dead at home.
In her arm was a syringe.
The woman's picture flashed on screen
And made his mother cringe.
He could feel something too;
Some sort of strange connection.
Then he heard a soft whimper
Coming from his mom's direction.
He softly asked her what was wrong.
She couldn't look him in the eye.
She said I have someting to tell you son.
Then she began to cry.
All the questions you asked of us;
If you were ours, or another's.
You see, the woman who died tonight...
She was your true mother.

Mummy News Cries
Mummy don't leave me today.
Mummy he hurts me again and again
Mummy I'm sorry I upset you
Mummy of course I'll go again.
News in the paper of a little girls death
News in the paper of the abuse
News in the paper of a grieving mother
News in the paper of a life gone too soon.
Cries the mother who didn't heed the cry
Cries the mother who failed to hear
Cries the mother who sent her there
Cries the mother for her dead child.

On Hearing Of The Death Of Kevin Hickey
Sad news a news that travels far and wide
And I was told of how young Kevin Hickey died
On the Shannaknock road of his car he lost control
And the reaper claimed his body not his soul.
He was pre-deceased by his Mother Kathleen
And his better days in life he had not seen
And his father John is left to bear sorrow's cross
And grieve the tragedy of his heart-breaking loss.
And though the accident that claimed young Kevin's life happened a few years ago
The scars of grief to heal are always slow
And the pain at the loss of his son in such a tragic way
With John Hickey till his own end will stay.
At the spot where Kevin died John erected a grotto as a memorial to his son
And it would seem that is as much as anyone could have done
To honour some one that they loved so dear
Such stories of love are heartening to hear.
I have heard of how young Kevin Hickey died
And such sad news does travel far and wide
And his remains will rest in peace forever more
But his soul lives on the soul has wings to soar.

Honeycomb Child
Melting honeycomb
Tie my shoelace on my own
That boy laughing
Wearing my hands (?)
To pull me back in
Home, home, home
To your love
Home, home, home
To your love
Climb down the oak tree
Feeling the dry grass
Under my feet
I'm here without you
Holding on, holding on
Nothing to lose
And I don't mind
You protecting me
To the end us
And I don't mind
You protecting all the others
You, you carried me in
To bed from the car
I painted your face
But I had to ask
Permission to go
But don't go to far
And we like to watch
All the flickering stars
You don't like your face
But that's who you are
I got all those shells
And put them in a box
How far would you go
If I didn't want to stop
I looked in your eyes
And it was all gone
Home, home, home
To your love
Home (to your love)
Home (to your love)
Home (to your love)
To your love (to your love)

Mother may I
Mother may I
throw food around
because I am contrary as an infant?
Mother may I
play in the mud
because I like when you have to bathe me?
Mother may I
eat all the cookies
just because they taste so yummy?
Mother may I
draw on the walls
because I like your attention?
Mother may I
not do my homework
because I want to grow up faster?
Mother may I
stay out all night
because I feel like I'm suffocating at home?
Mother may I
have sex in your bed
because you arn't home to know about it?
Mother may I
borrow the car
so my friends and I can get high on the bridge?
Mother may I
take the TV
because I'll need something to do at college?
Mother may I
borrow some money
because I spent all of mine on the raised cigarette tax?
Mother may I
take you for granted
because I don't know any better?
Mother may I
have an abortion
because I am scared to become you so quickly?
Mother may I
cry in your arms
because I finally know what it feels like to be used?
Mother may I
come home to you
because I still love you more than anything?
Mother may I
have another cookie
because now I know to ask?
Mother may I
take your advice
because I want to know if he's right for me?
Mother may I
fall in love
because I want to be whole?
Mother may I
have your grandchild
because I want to be just like you?
Mother may I
give her your name
because she's just as beautiful to me as you are?
Mother may I
love you forever
because you are my loving mother and never gave up on me?

See Myself In You
IF I MET YOU, ON THE CORNER,
WOULD I KNOW YOU, AS YOU ARE
WOULD I TAKE YOU, FOR A STRANGER,
AND BRUSH PAST YOU IN THE DOOR
IF YOU CALLED ME, WOULD I HEAR YOU,
OR WOULD I WALK AWAY TOO SOON
IF I LINGERD FOR A MOMENT, WOULD I SEE MYSELF IN YOU
IF I FOUGHT YOU, LIKE A SOLDIER,
IF I HAD YOU, IN MY SIGHTS
WOULD YOU ASK ME, TO REMEMBER,
WHO IMAGINED, I WAS RIGHT
IF YOU WITNESSED, MY SURRENDER,
DO I KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO
IF YOU HELD ME, LIKE MY BROTHER,
WOULD I SEE MYSELF IN YOU
WELL I DREAMED MY END WAS NEAR,
I WAS ALMOST GONE
IF I DREAM THAT DREAM FROM HERE,
CAN I STILL COME HOME
IF YOU CALLED ME, WOULD I HEAR YOU,
WOULD I KNOW, WHAT I WOULD DO
IF YOU HELD ME, LIKE MY FATHER,
WOULD I SEE MYSELF IN YOU
IF YOU HELD ME, LIKE MY MOTHER,
WOULD I SEE MYSELF IN YOU

By Your Side
I wasn't myself for so many years it seemed
Cold and confused my mind lost in the shadows
When I awoke I could see so much clearer
Held high it seems I won't be there to hear her
And I won't be by your side
No way of knowing
And I won't be by your side
Well I'll take my chances
In this place I was left for dead
Held down and mocked by all eyes watching
Now free well I'll be standing much taller
What won't kill me makes me stronger
And I won't be by your side
No way of knowing
And I won't be your side
Well I'll take my chances
And I won't be by your side
I'm free from you chains
And I won't be by your side
There's no time to cry

One of the reasons why when Elvis dies or the Son of Sam is captured ABC News' ratings go up is because people who don't normally watch news are watching then. The question is, do you want to attract people who don't watch network news or fight over the people who do?
