Veni Seer
Come, Holy Spirit,
bending or not bending the grasses,
appearing or not above our heads in a tongue of flame,
at hay harvest or when they plough in the orchards,
or when snow covers crippled firs in the Sierra Nevada.
I am only a human being: I need visible signs.
I tire easily, building the stairway of abstraction.
Many a time I asked, you know it well,
that the statue in church lift its hand, only once, just once, for me.
But I understand that signs must be human,
therefore, call one person, anywhere on earth,
not me-after all I have some decency-
and allow me, when I look at that person,
to marvel at you.

Am I not a person?
Am I not a person?
It would appear.
That im not a person.
Not quite human.
More like a zombie so to say.
Am I not a person?
That is the question.
Im not a person.
Not quite human.
An emotionless wrekage.
Within the walls of brakeage.
Am I not quite a person?
Im not quite humane.
Not quite the person.
I once used to be.
Am I a person?
Or just a big mess.
And a sorry excuse
For a person?
Im not quite a person.
This I do now no.
Im more like a zombie.
Am I not quite a person.
Nope Im not.
I just one sad sorry mess.
A zombie of my formerself.
Just a sad sorry mess.
And a pethetic excuse
For a life.

Never Met A Person As Wonderful As Me
Well, I stare at myself in the mirror
When I wake up every morn
And I marvel at how great Ive been
Since the day that I was born
Ive made so many albums
Ive run out of things to name em
My fans all want to be like me
And really, who can blame em
Teenage groupies all surround me
I guess I know why
No one else can match my charm
Why do they even try
All the girls in college
Turned me down for other fellas
But I know why, it seems to me
Theyre just insanely jealous
Who wouldnt be
Some people call it self-indulgence
But they just dont understand
That its hard to be too humble
When you know that youre so grand
And Im not trying to say Im perfect
I just want you to see
That Ive never met a person
Whos as wonderful as me
Now, Im not arrogant or haughty
And Im certainly not conceited
But anyone trying to match my wits
Is very soon defeated
Im a marvellous human being
Im just one big hunk of man
Sometimes I have to marvel
At how very great I am
Some people call it self-indulgence
But they just dont understand
That its hard to be too humble
When you know that youre so grand
And Im not trying to say Im perfect
I just want you to see
That Ive never met a person
Whos as marvellous, spectacular
Fantastic and terrific
And so very great and wonderful as me

To Amuse At The Expense Of Wasted Time
Would these be betting odds,
That an asking of someone...
Who has done something in their life,
For more than 'sixty years'.
And approached to be questioned,
What they have been doing...
Since they were last seen ten years ago?
And that question has been asked,
By that same person rerpeatedly.
And the response is known.
What would be the likely odds,
That the person asked the question...
Would 'not' be doing,
What has become an obvious love...
For what that person does.
Should the one asking that same question,
Take a gamble and ask another question...
That would initiate a conversation,
Expressing a real interest?
And not just say the same thing to re-tread.
I maybe wrong about this,
But...
Leaving the person feeling a sense of being appreciated,
Would probably reveal a human being existing.
Instead of a novelty to amuse at the expense of wasted time.

The conception of worth, that each person is an end per se, is not a mere abstraction. Our interest in it is not merely academic. Every outcry against the oppression of some people by other people, or against what is morally hideous is the affirmation of the principle that a human being as such is not to be violated. A human being is not to be handled as a tool but is to be respected and revered.

Suspicious Signs
Say whats that thing
On your back
Well I guess its a hair
And the hair is black
I got you on the phone
You said youre all alone
I heard these boots on the floor
And I beg you baby please no more
Suspicious signs
What do I see
Suspicious signs
Suspicious signs
Now everythings so strange
Not how it used to be
I call you up at three
And you say you cant talk to me
Say whats it all about
Why do you talk that loud
I hear your fingertips
Playing with italian hips
Suspicious signs
What do I see
Suspicious signs

Signs
This is not about age
Time served on the earth doesn't mean you grow in the mind
This is not about God
Spiritual insinuations seem to shock our nation
Come with me I'm fading underneath the lights
Come with me
Come with me
Come with me now
This is not about race
It's a decision to stop the division in your life
This is not about sex
We all know sex sells and the whole world is buying
Come with me I'm fading underneath the lights
Come with me
Come with me
Come with me now
Can't you see the signs?
See the signs now
Can't you see them?
See the signs
You see them
All the signs we see them
Can't you see them?

A Walk on the Snow
It feels cold inside
when people cannot break the stillness
when human tongues revolve
around cars, TV and food
when the painful silence
is deep deep in the human heart.
I walk out of this coldness inside
away from the comforts and heating
installations in the house
away from the speed and heat of a car.
I simply walk on the field
looking at the vast space of emptiness
treading on the snow,
the snow that has
covered the grasses.
It gives me a deep sense of joy
that the walk to turn away
from coldness inside
becomes a walk with the Lord.
I walk with God on the snow.
Cars pass me by
Houses stand in the stillness
of their comforts.
I continue walking until
my exposed ears, hands and feet ache.
I walk with God on the snow
and I understand why people
fear the cold.
The Lord himself walks with me
on the snow and on the cold inside me
on the snow that covers the gound
on the snow that hurts and frightens.
But such a time of journeying
with God on the snow
becomes a cleansing and a healing
just as from the ground
the green will be reborn in spring.

God Notes
i believe God is both
male and female, and neither!
both human, and spirit...
beyond our conceptual thoughts.
person, non person, creator,
and created. the image of
the life force we just cant
seem to see in ourselves, and
in others. both the question,
and the answer, enlightenment
and compassion.... the need,
and the food, the light, and
the darkness from whence it came.
the cry of humanity for understanding,
and what we would see if we stood
naked in front of a mirror!
both the path, and the feet...
and the revelation of human destiny!

Telltale Signs
1: You never send me flowers
You don't wanna hold my hand
When I was sad or lonely
You used to understand
Maybe these are the tell tale signs
Of our love slipping away
2: You never say you love me
You never kiss me anymore
When I come home late
You never meet me at the door
Maybe these are the tell tale signs
Of our love slipping away
3: Anniversaries come and go
They're just another day
Remember when our love was new
The promises we made
Love was so exciting
The feelings were brand new
But that's another place and time
And another you
4: Can there be a happy ending
Is there any turning back
Or have we fallen into
That same old lover's trap
We see all the tell tale signs
Let's stop our love slipping away
We've seen all the tell tale signs
Of our love slipping away

Pride Prevents Progress
There is one God Creator Who controls the Universe
No matter what you call Him when you worship or converse Material images by man will Holy God insult
He is not in the works of man or in a human cult God made the planets and controls the endless outer space
God made the many genes deciding every human race God can be seen in everything the human cannot do
Produce a seed, a mighty tree, a tiny bird egg too Because God "Mighty Spirit" wanted to communicate
He came to earth to talk with people all about their fate So God would need a human to convey to man His Plan
God Spirit chose to come to earth to walk and talk with man- But sinful man and Holy God are not compatible
Atonements made by humankind are not acceptable God Only could provide for man a Sacrifice for sin
One worthy of a Holy God, Blood cleansing from within God's Love provided righteous Blood, His Son the Righteous One
By Virgin birth all prophecies were fulfilled by God's Son God now can walk and talk with man possessed with Spirit God
Who listens when God's Word speaks by Messiah: Christ and Lord.

The Underdog And The Stranger
sometimes we simply have to be vulnerable
to be mortal
and it happens when we extend a hand and let the other feel
that your hands are real
with blood and veins and flesh and bones
that when someone gets a sharp knife and slices your wrist
you bleed real blood
because you are not a ghost, a virtual image of somebody else,
because you are not a mannequin or wood,
or someone else appearing in another person's name
vulnerability is humanity, it happens when you walk alone and you
wear your face without a mask, a veil, a hat, a head dress,
it happens when you expose yourself
to someone and you tell him that you are lonely and you need a friend
that the weather is cold and that you need someone to be with
simply to talk without any self-interest at all
then someone laughs at you and even tells that if you keep
following him he will kick you in the ass
that there is simply no possibility of a connection between a hand to another hand
anymore
vulnerability is when you finally accept that other people are strangers too
and they do not have time for any other intrusion
for another stranger like me
vulnerability is simply letting the other person know that you have no other name except your name that you have no other reserved spare tire for
yourself except yourself
that you are yourself and that you are hurt is vulnerability
but that is not the end of it all
vulnerability is also realizing that you are finally human
and that you have learned to live with this humanity
despite the strangeness and the weakness
as others keep the wall within themselves
fortifying fences and excluding
others till the end of night
till another day
and another
night

When A Person Does Not Know What
When a person does not know what to do with himself
When a person feels empty
When a person feels everything he had done and everything he can do do is meaningless
When a person is bored
When a person does not know what to do with himself
And wonders why he is on this earth
And how he will endure more of it
When a person does not know what to do with himself
He must do any little thing he can do
To get himself going-
He must wash the dishes or clean the house or take something to eat or take a small walk or read a page
Or do any one of a million or more other small things to get himself going
And once he is going he must somehow go on and on and from this to something else
So that at some point somewhere along the way somehow
He is doing something
Perhaps not that great
But doing something
And in doing something
Perhaps forgetting about himself
A bit
Perhaps.
WHAT DO I KNOW? \AND WHO AM I?
What do I know?
And who am I?
The real questions
I cannot answer
They are beyond me.
And I don't think
I have anything to give
Even in beginning to answer them.
Just another human being
Who has come this way
And soon will be gone
Without ever having answered
The real questions.

The art of dancing stands at the source of all the arts that express themselves first in the human person. The art of building, or architecture, is the beginning of all the arts that lie outside the person; and in the end they unite.

Sierra, Sierra
Sierra, sierra
Tell me where is this place you are from
You speak of a land
Filled with warm sea and sand
And the ladies who lie in the sun
Sierra, sierra
Your distant lights fading away
Crossing those stars to the music and bars
Sierra, is it just like you say ?
Sheep counting never worked well
Since the day that I fell
For your ****** dreams
Of a thousand this worlds so *******
And Im pulsed to the wind
At the sight of the song and the sea
Strange cigarettes
Clothes so warm and so wet
You can see through so quite easily
Sierra, sierra
Sierra, sierra,
Please tell me youll stay
Sierra, sierra,
Till night turns to day
I got so many dreams they can never run dry
My bedrooms becoming a crates on the sky
Filled with dancing tequilas and chickens on spits
White-shirted waiters and girls with big tails
Love in the night in the ways of moonlight
Sierra, please tell me it fits

A Piece of Sky
No one can own a color; no one can own a cloud.
No one on Earth could ever, I'm glad it's not allowed!
No person owns a person, though some may think they do.
No person owns the ocean; I know this to be true!
I cannot own a sparrow, I cannot own a tree.
Even in my own backyard they don't belong to me!
No one can own the starlight; no one can own the sun.
No person owns a river, it simply can't be done!
No one can own a desert, the planets or their moons.
We’re all just One Race: Human, same words with many tunes!
No one may claim ownership to TEAR or SMILE or SIGH!
Or take away your DREAMS so...

The city
Love
Shifting through dark channels
And illuminated signs
Sounds
Shifting through
Cubic's power amplifiers
Human walking angles
Tactic direction changing rhythmically
Variances
Transfixed steps
Breaking the long loud silence
On human tongues
Hopes
Owing to the existence
Of silver enwrapped surrounding hot stars
And hot feelings
Unavoidably reflected upward
Appearing just as a lightning bolt
Or like a peculiarly fierce faithfulness
Gray clouds
Dropping their snow bracer
Ringing bells
Dropping their sad resonance
In death
For love.

My dear alcohol
My dear alcohol
How nice are you to us
Your ingestion takes us to heaven
We float with confidence
We feel we have solutions for
All problems
Your circulation within
Makes us understand
The purpose of our living
What magic you perform
Within us is a still wonder to me
Medical science says a
A number of things
You can do to us
While you are present
In our blood stream
I do not understand a word of it
But, yes, I experience
Such a good person like you
Cannot harm us
But, not less frequently
I hear a number of
Uncomforting things
About you
You are quoted often
A reason for a number
Of road accidents
You, I, understand
Affect the human liver
You, probably, do not know
How important this organ
Is for human beings
My knowledge, though, limited
Says that the liver has a major role
In digestion of food
They say you enlarge liver
And you have the potential
To cause liver cancer
Which can be fatal
The one great strength of yours
Is that you make a person addicted to you
And make the person dependent on you
You do this especially to
Our poor fellow folks, who
Do not earn enough to feed
Your hunger when you are inside
Most often they are the
Ones, who become the
Most blessed of your grace
And bear the brunt of having consumed you
In good faith
Our efforts to
Prohibit or restrict
Your human consumption
Failed miserably
And the painful episodes
Associated with you
Still continue unabatedly
Take it from me,
We do not find fault with you
And your nature
It will be unwise on my part
To request you
To develop a distaste in us for you
On your first consumption
Though I can request you this
Can you change a bit yourself
Intoxicate your consumers
In their first drink itself
So much that they cannot
Even lift the glass a second time
