Lost Generation, Dead Nation
She's seems so very young
She should still be playing
That's not where she belongs
Her youth is abruptly ending.
Dowry had made her a slave
To a husband who's half a man
For who ever would be so naive
To marry a child, those Afghans!
This practice will see the demise
Of their future lost generations
The nation that devours its young dies
And takes the pill of self-destruction!

So young

Insight
Young and so naïve.
Born to grow up,
On urban desperate streets.
No renovation done,
Can remove
What these young ones
Are led to believe.
The only future they have
Is what an ignorance
That comes to them
Leaves.
Young and so naïve.
Adding to the blight...
With no insight that excites
And attempts to lift them,
Up and away from this mire...
Higher.
Suppressors who conspire,
To further deplete them of hope!
They are not taught to keep!

There Is Hope For The Future
The bombs have caused death and destruction and the families mourn their dead
But there is hope for the future for better days ahead
When those for peace and World harmony will finally prevail
For those who talk of waging war are surely doomed to fail.
There is hope for the future though I may not live to see my dream
Of a better life for everyone in a World where peace will reign supreme
A World free of borders and camps for refugees
Where the smell of death and destruction is not blowing in the breeze
There is hope for the future around me not all dark
I hear young children playing in the playground in the park
The children are the future and they may well unite
Behind a peaceful leader who won't lead by power of might.
There is hope for the future and all surely not lost
Though there won't be peace tomorrow and 'twill come at a great cost
The Rose of Peace will bloom again though with the dead I lay
And the young and enlightened leaders to peace will lead the way.

Celebrate Youth
Celebrate Youth
by H-Blockx
Album: No Excuses
I can see the older man
Looking at the younger man
I can see the younger man
Looking at the boy
Over there the older woman
Looking at the younger woman
I can see the younger woman
Looking at the girl
'Cause every man sees
In the younger man the hope
Every woman sees
In the younger girl the dream
Everybody lives
The pride and passion of the young
From the womb to the tomb
We will remember what it means
Refrain:
So celebrate youth - celebrate
Those who have it - young ones
Celebrate youth - celebrate
Give them sight
The future of the world's in the -celebrate
Hands of children - young ones
So celebrate youth - celebrate
Teach them right
Looking in a child's face
There's no pride and no disgrace
There's no struggle there's no fight
I can see the older man
And sometimes in the older man
I still see the young boy
Burning in his eye
And locked up here inside our spirit
Is the child that we are, hear it
Some of us will always fear it
And some will heed the cry
'Cause every man sees
In the younger man the hope
Every woman sees
In the younger girl the dream
Everybody lives
The pride and passion of the young
From the womb to the tomb
We will remember what it means
Refrain:
So celebrate youth - celebrate
Those who have it - young ones
Celebrate youth - celebrate
Give them sight
The future of the world's in the -celebrate
Hands of children - young ones
So celebrate youth - celebrate
Teach them right
Looking in a child's face
There's no pride and no disgrace
There's no struggle, there's no fight
Fight like a youth brigade
Tear down your baricades
I know fear's a blade
Time's up, another decade
Fight to be free indeed
Wrap up the things you need
Imaturity
Celebrates the youth in me
Looking in a child's eye
There's no hate and there's no lie
There's no black and there's no white
Refrain:
So celebrate youth - celebrate
Those who have it - young ones
Celebrate youth - celebrate
Give them sight
The future of the world's in the -celebrate
Hands of children - young ones
So celebrate youth - celebrate
Teach them right
Looking in a child's eye
There's no hate and there's no lie
There's no black and there's no white

Two in a tower
Viviette, Lady Constantine, tender
Even at her thirty, was a splendour.
Her husband had no time to engage her
As with other women he was merrier.
The tender vine lady, stake less, wandered
And, on a lad in a tower, stumbled.
She endeared the lad to explore her
While he was there to explore stars elsewhere.
Her age and dignity held Swithin.
His age and purity held Viviette.
Death of her husband rescued her from guilt;
Warmth of her lover was free to travel.
The Bishop, a widower, was enchanted
With the company of Lady Constantine,
And was desperate to secure her hand,
Her young widowhood taken for granted.
Viviette had loved Swithin for her shake
And more for his shake; she subjected her
.Self-love to his benevolence, and made
Her motherly love shade her sexual love.
.
She coerced him to set out for his future
And forced herself to desert his gesture.
She made herself marry the widower
To be father for her expecting child.
Viviette again became a widow
And for Swithis’ return, she stood in glow.
The joy of reunion took her life;
The child got him, the bona fide father.
Her first husband deserted her
Her lover could not marry her.
Her second one is not her choice.
She thanked her lover with a child.
“‘tis in the mercy of her eye
If poor love shall live or die;
A silver line is her child,
In her life, full of cloud.”

Girl Eighteen, Teacher Forty
This little story is so tragic
About a young girl who was just eighteen
Her cute lovely name is Monique
The most silly girl I have seen.
Monique had an old crazed professor
Who was a witless half of a man
A forty year old bald predator
Who would get young girls if he can.
One day she ran off with this teacher
And he did the same, left family
Unmindful of his sly, dubious character
Too young to have a grasp of reality.
After five years Monique had three kids
She had lost precious youth and was fat
Her beloved teacher repeated what he did
Got another girl and Monique, he forgot.
Now Monique lost everything but her soul
She would worry 'bout food for tomorrow
She remembered the wife whose husband she stole
And her words - 'You will reap what you sow.'

I'm Still Young
I will not sit as a widow,
For i am still young and i can marry again;
And like the young birds that flies up high!
But my husband died at a tender age.

The Rich Man And The Poor Young Woman
it is a world of
symbiosis
when an old, rich man
meets a
poor young woman
lonely as he is
he offers her
romance
the moon and the stars
to her bosom
the young woman smiles
and too kind enough
to answer him with
some smiles
and welcoming
affections
he says he will marry her
and she takes him
for a husband
he needs love
she needs (so badly)
his cash
and then they live happily
shortly after

Death, and Life
so many forms of
death so many chapters
ended abruptly without
resolution
the father or mother
you thought you'd never lose
that you didnt spend enough time with
the son lost to a foreign conflict,
draped in a flag
the abortion you opted for
cause you couldnt see
any other way and now,
years later, you have doubts
the teenager who committed suicide,
that you couldnt reach,
somehow couldnt tell them or
show them they were not alone
the young man who overdosed
alone in an empty apartment
the baby left to die
in an alley and the teenage mother
who died there too!
the companion who walked away
after so many years and the
best part of you died there
the old man diagnosed with a cancer
that they cant treat and the death
of waiting to die.
the young family who loses everything,
and the dream of a future dies
as they become numbers lost
to the din of hopelessness
but what is death?
is it an ending?
or a beginning?
time worn brown leaves crumbling,
dissolving into dirt,
waiting through the winter
for a new spring to come
winter doesnt last forever!
spring is already there
in those time browned leaves
open your eyes, open your heart,
life never ends!

When I Was Young I Cried
When I was young I cried when I was sad, when I was young I cried when I was happy, when I was young I cried when I wanted something, when I was young I cried when I was lonely, when I was young I cried when I had to say goodbye, when I was young I cried when my feelings were hurt, when I was young I cried when I wasn't accepted, when I was young I cried when I was mocked, when I was young I cried for attention, when I was young I cried when I was scared, when I was young I cried when I hurt others, when I was young I cried when I felt physical pain, when I was young I cried when I was jealous, when I was young I cried when I lost someone or when I was lost somewhere, when I was young I cried when I didn't know, and now as an adult I cry because I understand.

A Woman Drowned By Culture
When this woman, no this girl,
Is drowned by her culture
her eyes hide her tears
When there is more than just a broken heart,
A family, a child, a nation, a world
In chaos, quietly creeping upon every heart
She dreams of a foreign land
Where corruption is only half as strong
She puts a brave front on
For the young child on her hip
With an unknown future
And famished eyes
For the young girls
Sold on the street like filthy possessions
She says with her eyes
What culture does not allow her to speak in words
So when man looks upon her
They don't see the covered face
But the passion and fierce hope in her sight

Youth Always Wins
Generational change
wins always
because the old and middle-aged
develop a clouded lens
and can' t see Now
because focused on Yesterday.
Is good advice for Youth Now
consist of lessons learned yesterday,
when yesterday no longer exists?
Can we tell the Young that yesterday
is relevant
when all yesterday is dead and gone?
How can we council that the old views
and yesterday make sense
when conditions have so changed
have been rent,
mangled beyond
recognition?
Young people
as they must
absorb much from us,
but their capacities
and needs are so much greater
than our meager philosophies present.
For the first time in history
young people are smarter
than their elders who
barely know how a computer works.
First time in history the young
are wiser than the septuagenarians.
Generations are additive
and while all youth stands upon
our shoulders
it also means they can see further
than we
planted on the ground below.
We see ground level and the past-
they see above the clouds to that future-ness;
and we complain
because we know in our Youth
we did
exactly
the same thing
against our parents
who always thought
they too,
knew best.

Shaela
Nocturnal,
Nocturne,
Grit,
Groggy,
Grizzle!
But, it takes one to know one's heart.
Grater,
Demerger,
Demise,
Meiosis,
Deeply felt!
But, it takes one to know one's mind.
End, ending;
Place, placed;
But, marry Mary and make merry with the muse of love!
For, i have Shaela around to help me carry the load.

Burnt Afghan Girls
They protest the burning of a book
But turn a blind eye to the burnt girls
Afghans need to take a hard look
An imbalance of Justice now unfurls.
How tragic for many of those teen brides
To lose their youth in that tradition
It benefits only the fake macho side
Of self-serving men in that nation!
Women are viewed as things to sell
To serve as wife-maids at a young age
And many have horrible tales to tell
So to escape, set themselves ablaze.
What kind of nation can treat girls like this?
They even forbid their education!
They bomb the schools to make learning cease
Such methods may soon bring annihilation!

Young Kings and Old
The Young King fights in the trenches and the Old King fights in the rear—
Because he is old and feeble, and not for a thought of fear.
The Young King fights for the Future, and the Old King fights for the Past—
The Young King is fighting his first fight and the Old King is fighting his last.
It is ever the same old battle, be the end of it Beer or Blood—
Or whether the rifles rattle, or whether a friend flings mud;
Or a foe to the rescue dashes, and the touch of a stranger thrills—
Or the Truth—or the bayonet flashes; or the Lie—or a bullet kills.
The young man strives to determine which are the truths or lies,
And the old man preaches his sermon—and he takes to his bed and dies;
And the parson is there, and the nurse is (or the bread is there and the wine)—
And the son of the minister curses as he dies in the firing line.
And ever, and ever, and ever, as it was in ages untold,
The women grow still more “clever,” and the young know more than the old;
Till the seer on the hill cries “Treason!” and the witch grins out of her hole—
And a clarion voice shouts “Reason”!—and the Drums of Destruction roll.
The young bard bounds to the office, with eyes and with cheeks a-glow,
And he meets the old on the stairway, with tottering knees and slow.
And ever the Cowards of Conscience, or Envy, or Greed—or Trade
Are forcing us back from Antwerp, or forcing us from Belgrade.
But courage! By hut or steeple!—and courage for old and young!
No song for the sullen people has ever been left unsung!
And the crudest note that was worthy has never gone by unfelt—
I shall die in peace by the Danube, while you shall sing by the Scheldt!

To Help You
Dear Eunice,
It is very sad to for you to lose your husband at your lender age;
And, i will be there always for you and to help you.
You married so young and now,
Your young husband too is dead;
Leaving you alone without a child to start life with once again,
But i will be there always for you and to help you through.
So let me know your needs and wants and,
Let me be there for you always and to carry on in this life;
For, i will make sure that you are able to reach out to the unreachable!

On the loss of a young man
On the loss of a young man
~
A young man
With a steady career
Promising future
Highly rated
Close circle of friends
A young family
Well provided for
The kind of life
Many wish to have
All too suddenly gone
Leaving repeated questions
None will ever understand
Those silent tears
He wept and kept alone
Till they became to much
An obituary in a newspaper
Reads praise from many
The ending of his story
Sad and sadly unknown
Another young man
Gone too soon

May Day
Will you go a-maying, a-maying, a-maying,
Come and be my Queen of May and pluck the may with me?
The fields are full of daisy buds and new lambs playing,
The bird is on the nest, dear, the blossom's on the tree.'
'If I go with you, if I go a-maying,
To be your Queen and wear my crown this May-day bright,
Hand in hand straying, it must be only playing,
And playtime ends at sunset, and then good-night.
'For I have heard of maidens who laughed and went a-maying,
Went out queens and lost their crowns and came back slaves.
I will be no young man's slave, submitting and obeying,
Bearing chains as those did, even to their graves.'
'If you come a-maying, a-straying, a-playing,
We will pluck the little flowers, enough for you and me;
And when the day dies, end our one day's playing,
Give a kiss and take a kiss and go home free.'

Quarshie
Flirting young girls do forget their ages as they grow!
But when they do marry after their flirting games,
There and then they do see that they are very old.
Life to them is like,
Today you flirt and tomorrow you marry;
But it will not be the same always!
Because one day they will turn and want to have children,
Then and there it will be too late for them!
Yes, they have aborted many of their unwanted pregnacies;
But i am Quarshie on this side of the river and,
I know what i see around me always.
I know what i am saying and,
I know wher i came from;
For around me are many young girls playing from bed to bed,
And these experiences in life will one day cost them a lot!
