Have you seen walking through the village
A man with downcast eyes and haggard face?
That is my husband who, by secret cruelty
never to be told, robbed me of my youth and my beauty;
Till at last, wrinkled and with yellow teeth,
And with broken pride and shameful humility,
I sank into the grave.
But what think you gnaws at my husband's heart?
The face of what I was, the face of what he made me!
These are driving him to the place where I lie.
In death, therefore, I am avenged.

Broken child
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has seen more than his young eyes should.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who would run away from it all if he could.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has been ravished by the likes of you and I.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child with to much pride to cry.
I see the face off a broken child.
a child who fights off anyone who cares.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wishes his mother was there.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wont let his hardships keep him down.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who refuses to give up and reveal a frown.

Take A Look
Im a ragged man with a ragged heart
But I wear my soul with pride
You can see me on the road
See my carrying my home
And perhaps it seems that Im all alone
But Im happy here inside
You can keep your fancy dress
cause to me it dont impress
When I look in your face
That camera smile looks out of place on you
By the look in your eyes
I can see you realize
So lend yourself to me
Ill show you what could be
Well Ive come so far down so many roads
Ive experienced your pain
You know that thats a fact
I can see the way you act
But I learned to see what was wrong with me
And I wont go back again
I know Ive made mistakes
But I also made the break
You surround yourself
With secrets you are afraid to show to the world
You convince yourself
Theres no other way to go dont you
See the smile on my face
Does it look so out of place
So lend yourself to me
Ill show you what could be (yes I will)
So many ways
For you to spend the passing days
Loving and living or losing and using
Life is forgiving so use it well
Feeling revealing or wheeling and dealing
Lifes not for stealing and time will well
Take a look at your face
Take a look at your face
You must surely know
If man made heaven then man made hell
So take a look at yourself
Whats this secret you cant tell me
(when I look in your face
I see that smile so out of place on you
And by the look in your eyes
I can see you realize, oh yeah)

My Secret Joy
If it were not for you
It seems that every day would be
A life unfulfilled.
Winter then forever and no smile of spring.
An icy lake without a melted heart within.
You are my secret joy.
When first I saw your face
A satisfaction took the place of sad distraction.
I knew my mind had been in a phase of leaving,
You drew me back a pace, with you I saw commitment,
This time there could be no dreaming,
No time for grieving what was past.
My secret joy was here with me.
So many times, I saw her face in your face.
That special wisdom of her eyes in your eyes,
I knew a child I thought was gone for always
Had brought joy home.
I watch you watch the joy you have made
Wonder if you know the joy that you gave
Would like you to know that the joy that you made
Is my joy too.
However long before the joy that you made.
That little blue the two of you gave.
I had a little joy of my own.
Even though the joy that I made,
Has gone the road that life takes.
Singing love songs to the joys of her own,
I see reflections of the Joy that I made,
In the eyes and the heart of the Joy, she has made.
I can see pink joy reflected in blue joy,
When I see it.
My secret joy.

Aima
The burden of guilt,
Self abuse;
But Aima came in and told me what went wrong!
And like narrowing the boundaries in the land of your muse;
But, i am seriously watching you.
The face of a broken hearted man,
The face of a broken hearted woman,
The face of a broken hearted boy,
The face of a broken hearted girl,
The face of a broken hearted lady,
The face of a broken hearted gentleman,
And like your bedtime stories with your bed-mates;
But, i have no customer service on this issue at hand.

The Everlasting Beauty
The everlasting beauty
fades upon her face,
Tears stream down
her beautiful frown
Even in death her beauty will be everlasting,
her eyes are like the clearest of lakes
I look upon her face and notice the beauty and youth that will never die
When she smiles her face is as bright as a rocket,
when she laughs we all
laugh
Everlasting beauty
That will never fade
Her eyes are a brown shade
When she is upset or sad and carries a frown
I turn it upside down
Her everlasting beauty will carry on
in my mind no matter what
The everlasting beauty that never fades

Walking
Just keep on walking whatever u don't look back cause when you do the memory of the past will haunt you,
You had done enough damage towards me,
I will keep on walking till the sun goes down until the night shades above and beyond the sky,
I am moving on with this life,
I can’t bare it no more but the thoughts of you still haunts me,
I will keep on walking until there is no more you,
I know I can’t run forever,
Soon or later I have to face my demons,
My demons are you,
You the one that makes me want to run till I give up,
Walking away from this pain might not last forever,
Please quit haunting me,
Leave me be,
I want face my demons but too scared but to think of running,
You made me this way,
Soon I will face you when I am more ready.

Definitive Beauty
When I first saw that special girl, I had to say a prayer...
As if she set my heart a-whirl, I wanted God to share...
Of course He knew just how I felt, as if filled to the brim,
As if my very heart would melt, right there in front of Him...
I told Him straight! She's wonderful! I feel I could propose!
She's like a walking miracle! She fills my heart with prose!
Is she the one, the one for me? Or should I walk away?
With God, there's some uncertainty... His silence makes my day...
Just lost in wonder and in thought, like God's not on the phone,
No way to know when God says nought, it's like you're on your own!
She smiled at me and I smiled, too, but smiles can still deceive...
It's hard to tell with I love you, so what could I believe?
But sad to say, it all went wrong, I left without a friend,
The two of us did not belong, my hopes were at an end...
I still recall her gentle face, my dreams of happiness...
My beauty's in another place... while I know loneliness...
Perhaps her beauty's just skin deep, that sometimes not enough
And yet sweet memories I can keep, my fantasies of love...
I hope God leads her to her man, her husband, given time...
If not, I'll always be her fan... Her beauty was sublime!

Natalia’s Resurrection: Sonnet XVII
Nor yet in vain. For to him through the rout
Behold, 'mid herald whispers of her name
And laughing eyes and welcome hands held out,
Natalia's self behind her husband came,
Her face arrayed in smiles, as who should say
She held a secret string of happiness
Joined to her heart grief could not take away.
And Adrian gazed at her in rapturous bliss,
Knowing his love had triumphed o'er the grave
And she at last was his, a heritage
For ever for his heart to hold and have,
In spite of change and death's untimely rage
And the long tempest of forgotten tears,
The pain, the anger and the grief of years.

Her Face!
Face! A kind of identity
She has got his quality
To change her face
In the clouds of grace
I want to see her again
In the season cloudy rain
When her face is watered
Nothing could be uttered
Seeing her face I think
I don't want to blink
But it's shameful eyes
Plays off when she shys.

Looking At The Face Of An Old Man....
when is see that old man,
whose face is hardened by the changes of the seasons
by the cruelty of time,
his skin is dark brown, thick as a pachyderm
now loose, and bones curving
like a question mark of
existentialism,
he must have been tough, as i bring him back to the past of his youth,
riding on a black horse, carrying his scimitar
conquering tyrants
worshiping God and wooing his woman
making love
gently with the softness of her being
and i go back
on that wrinkled face, bowing to his destiny,
surrendering
calmly to the embrace of death
his final friend....

The Eyes Of Death
I have stared into the eyes of death with my own
It is hard to see death eye to eye, face to face
Many times death leaves a cold darkness
Other times death leaves a bright light
There are many who may welcome death
They are ready to meet their maker face to face
Others attempt death by their own hand
For whatever reason I can see the torment in their eyes
I have stared into the eyes od death only to see darkness
It has been my own death that I have seen
Many times by my own hand
Others by the hand of others I have seen my death in their eyes
Whatever death is my fate let me face it
Eye to eye as I have seen others no regrets
Even though I would be dead
Let others see that I have made peace with my maker and others

Lightscapes of Eternity
In the face
Of hopelessness
I stand for hope.
In the face
Of torment
I will not cry.
In the face
Of darkness
I see the light.
In the face
Of death
I see new life.
And when the dawn
Of new worlds rise
I see the beauty of eternity
Reflected in a newborns eyes.

Natalia’s Resurrection: Sonnet XVIII
Nor were the rest astonished. Even he,
Natalia's lord, in all complacent grace
Looked on approving of her act when she
Stepped forward with her face to Adrian's face,
And touched his lips and told him of the truth
How all was ended now of her old life,
With the sad barrier that had marred their youth:
Husband no longer and no longer wife,
Natalia had grown free. Then the proud lover
Gave thanks to God and took her arm in his,
Fearless how now their love they should discover
To any anger of suspicious eyes,
And led her forth his bride before them all
With solemn music to the banquet--hall.

The Face of Love
When I gaze upon your countenance
I see all who I have and will still love
and your eyes a blue summer sky
warming the very core of my being
The alabaster perfection of your skin
crowning your lustrous beauty
Your inviting mouth drawing me in
to savour your sweet taste
to guess at your secrets
hidden behind an enigmatic smile
You are like a secret rendezvous
hankered after by all
Time cannot be defined
for you are infinite
in your freedom
Face of my beloved
the face of love

The Face of Love
by Ingrid Jonker
Your face is the face of all the others
before you and after you and
your eyes calm as a blue
dawn breaking time on time
herdsman of the clouds
sentinel of white iridescent beauty
the landscape of your contesses (sic) mouth
that I have explored
keeps the secret of a smile
like small white villages beyond the mountains
and your heartbeats the measure of their ecstasy
There is no question of beginning
there is no question of possession
there is no question of death

the face of love

I Will Lead You
Come along take a ride 'cross the sky for an hour
Leave your mind take your soul fill the hole with flowers
From the lake through the trees in the streets for the powder
In the creed for the freeze I gotta place this power
'Cuz I am a lie
'Cuz I am a lie
'Cuz I am a lie
'Cuz I am a lie
[Chorus:]
I will lead you for awhile
Take your place to place
Bring you to this pyre
See you face to face
Come along to this flick take your sympathy with your symphony
See this dish a wonderful wish it's the perfect kiss it's the real thing
See the pitch it's the greatest of hits it's the missing with the wishing
At least you caught a smile when you coughed awhile when you did this kissing
'Cuz I am a lie
'Cuz I am a lie
'Cuz I am a lie
'Cuz I am a lie
[Chorus]
I will lead you
I will lead you
See you face to face
Face to face
See you face to face
Face to face
Yeah
See you face to face
Face to face
I see you face to face
Yeah

Face To Face
Key:-
A - anita
R - ray
A: face to face and eye to eye
Face to face and eye to eye
Face to face and eye to eye
Face to face and eye to eye
R: leaves from the tree, fall down on the floor
Life comes and goes, you cant ignore
Touch your soul when you finally realize
Youve heard it all before all the lies
Youre on a mission, no time for wishing
It can be magic, like a magician
Face to face and eye to eye
This is your last and final try
A: face to face and eye to eye
We look the world right in the eye
Face to face and eye to eye
Youve one last chance and baby, so will i
R: will we all succeed or is it over soon?
Nobody around just stars and the moon
A race against the clock, is there some time?
Just wait for the light, wait for the sign
You made the same mistakes that you made in the past
Didnt help you out, didnt make you last
Face to face and eye to eye
This was your last and final try
A: face to face and eye to eye
We look the world right in the eye
Face to face and eye to eye
Youve one last chance and baby, so have i
R: face to face and eye to eye
This is you last and final try
A: face to face and eye to eye
We look the world right in the eye
Face to face and eye to eye
Youve one last chance and baby, so will i
A: face to face and eye to eye
We look the world right in the eye
Face to face and eye to eye
Youve one last chance and baby, so have i

Mocking Grin
Seated at my Uncle's funeral fire
Are family close, all well attired
In the middle of them like a well fed hen
Is he who took aim, and recompense
A virgin's vow, a promise given.
My face burns as his chin mocks mine
Three lies told, only one is closed.
Husband bare, he stripped me-
Of the future promise given by another.
Leaving me to deal with the fruit within
Without bother from any other hand.
A father extracts a lie,
A promise, a plead of things that are not -
It doesn't matter, now, the blood cleanses all.
I sit up taller, holding a new husband's vow
In my closed palm-
Promises that never faltered.
He mocks me
His eyes dance with the secret he holds.
The virgin's lie is finally over.

On The Wall
On the wall hangs a face, not a face of love or hate.
Not a face of expectancy hope or curiosity.
Not a face of hurt, sadness or anger.
Not a face of colour, shadows or darkness.
Not a face of life or death, but just a face, a hanging face.
