Old Town Types No. 23 - Little Miss Mix
In a rather tiny building at the bottom of the street,
With a green door and a window small and very neat,
With its shock of beads and button-cards, cottons, bones and braid,
Miss Mix, the village dressmaker, plied a modest trade.
The front shop, with its counter, was a miniature affair,
And trivial the business that was conducted there.
But the back room - the workroom - 'Hours from Nine to Six' -
Was a vestal shrine whose priestess was little Miss Mix.
Tho' man had never gazed within, the sanctum held, 'twas known,
A wealth of female mysteries, for female eyes alone:
Dress-dummies, skirt-stands, a host of fashion fads,
Hip improvers, buckram shapes, curious bustle-pads.
But Mr Mole, who owned a store, and sold things ready-made,
Was oft-times strangely bitter over Miss Mix and her trade.
'A tittle-tattle factory!' said he. 'A gossip-shop!
With its babbling cotton-biters. Why, the thing had ought to stop.'
And many another male declared that Mr Mole was right -=
Chiefly husbands - for the charges of Miss Mix were never light.
And, tho' they talked in that back room of fashion, style and cost,
Many characters were shattered, many reputations lost
As scraps of spiteful sibilants came drifting thro' that door:
'A hussy dear!' ... 'Such goings on!' ... 'And I heard something more.' ...
And many an unsuspecting wench was hounded to her doom
In mousey little Miss Mix's little back room.
When last I saw the old town, nigh twenty years ago,
Its street was little altered, its tempo still was slow;
But where the wee dressmaker's shop in old days used to stand
A 'modern' shop-front glittered, very 'arty,' very grand.
Now Miss Mix was known as Sarah in the days when I was young,
And her trade was 'Plain Dressmaking'; but now a shingle swung
All done in fancy wrought-iron, with twirls and scrolls and tricks:
'Costumiere. Parisian Modes. Direction: Sara Miques.'

I Miss
i miss your laugh
i miss your jokes
i miss the old days
when you used to chase after me
i miss the way you used to hold me
i miss the way you used to kiss my lips
i miss the day you taught me how to dance
so come back to me
i miss you my dear
i miss the way you used to touch me
i miss the day we have our first kiss
so come back to me
back to where you belong
where we both belong
oh my dear, i miss you
i miss your voice'
so come back to me
i miss you and i love
my love come back to me

Down the Sweet Shop
The little corner shop
full of special treats
Chocolate, bottles of Pop,
and jars and jars of sweets.
With pocket money in hand
given to me by my Dad
sometimes a little bit extra
if he heard I'd been a good lad.
I really loved that little shop
it was every young boys dream
you could get everything you'd want
Football Cards, Toys, and Ice-Cream.
My dad used the shop as well
he'd pop in to buy his fags
and Mum did her weekly shop
she'd get me to help her with the bags.
Then along came the big supermarket
the little shop began to lose it's trade
so sadly it had to close it's doors
an end of an era again I'm afraid.
But I'll always remember the little shop
stood there at the bottom of our lane
yes it may have only been small
but it had more style than any supermarket chain!

I miss u
I miss u in the mirror as it does not reflect u in my eyes
I miss u in my arm when I feel I am alone in the shades
I miss u when a girl shys
I miss u when a bird flies
I miss u when rain starts toopur toopur
I miss u when I heard leafs mutter
I miss u seeing a purple saree
I miss u seeing a talking eye
I miss u in a pic standing like a queen
I miss u serving a chat for u and me
I miss u in my arms
I miss u in my nights
I miss u when oggy runs after cockroaches
I miss u when bacardi and bear flashes
I miss u in the late night thinking of the old times
I miss u searching for help on new reciepies
I miss u when I see the phone ringing but its not a call of yours
I miss u when I try to call u but cut it as u r busy in urs
I miss u in facebook
I miss u in every book

Say You Miss Me
I've been sleepin' alone, out on my own
I'm sure it seems like I'm takin' my time to get back to you
You been doin' your part, working real hard
I'm not lying, sure it seems like I'm trying to get back at you
Do you miss me too?
Baby say I'll miss you, just say you'll miss me too
Do you miss me too?
Baby say I'll miss you, just say you'll miss me too
I've been losing my mind, wastin' my time
I'm not crazy, sure it seems like I'm lazy, lets get back to you
You been takin' it hard, I know it's hard
I'm not lyin' sure it seems like I'm tryin' to get back at you
Do you miss me too?
Baby say I'll miss you, just say you'll miss me too
Do you miss me too?
Baby say I'll miss you, just say you'll miss me too
Well I been mixed up since the break up
Well all I need you to say
Well everythings o.k.
Baby say I'll miss you, just say you'll miss me too
Baby say I'll miss you, just say you'll miss me too

I Miss You
I miss you…
but not the you
that you are now
I miss the you that I used to know
Not the you that’s
Changed somehow
I miss the one,
with the smile
bright as the sun
I miss the you
that could make me feel
As if I were the only one
I miss your leg tight against mine
in the front seat
of my ol' Chevy
I miss the you that I could take to
lonely country roads
down by the levee
The one that I couldn’t
Get out of my car, tho’ I didn’t
Really try too hard anyhow
I miss you…really, really
Miss you…just not the you
That you are now

I Miss
I miss
I miss the way you say my name
I miss your smile
I miss the way you make me feel
I miss you
I miss the sparkle in your eyes
I miss the love you had for me
I miss having your shoulder to cry on
I miss your arms around me
I miss the way you make me smile
I miss the way you hug me
I miss the way we always met
I miss everything about you
I miss your warmth
I miss the love raidiating from you
I miss the softness of your lips
I miss you

I miss my childhood
I miss my childhood,
Miss my mommy’s lap,
The lullabies that my grandpa sung,
The breakfast my granny prepared for me.
I miss my childhood,
Miss the brother-sister fights,
The way the small secrets we kept,
The days we dreamt of becoming someone big.
I miss my childhood,
Miss the friends’, who were never mean,
The teacher so caring,
The playground where we played for hours’.
I miss my childhood,
Miss my dad’s arms which did hold me and wrapped me throughout,
The chocolates he bought so frequently,
The wonder rides he took me to.
I miss my childhood,
Miss the tree where I sat for hours,
The teddy which was my life,
And the way you consoled me dad whenever I cried….

Back When
Dont you remember the fizz in a pepper .
Penuts in a bottle at ten, two, and four.
A fried bologna sandwitch with mayo and tamata, sittin around
the table dont happen much anymore.
We gotten to complicated, its all way overrated, I like old and outdated
way of life.
Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crakes what you were doing when you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said i'm down with that , well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when
I loved my records, black shiny vinyle
clikes, pops, and white noise man they sounded fine.
I had my favorite stations the ones that played them all.
country, soul, and rockin roll what happend to thouse times.
I'm reading street slang for dummies cause they put pop in my country.
I want more for my money, the way it was back then
When a hoe was hoe
Coke was a coke
And cracks what you were doing when you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said i'm down with that, well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when
Give me a flat top for strummin
I want the whole world to be hummin
Just keep it comin, the way it was back then
When a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crakes what you were doing when you were crackin jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said i'm down with that, well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when

Our Town Awakes
Six o'clock. From the railway yard
The engine toots; careering hard,
A milk-cart rattles by and stops;
A magpie calls from the gum-tree tops;
The pub 'boots', sweeping out the bar,
Waves to the early service-car,
While the town's chief toper waits outside,
Woe-begone and bleary-eyed;
Two cows go lowing down the way;
A rooster crows. It's another day.
Eight o'clock. The tradesmen come
Shop-boys whistling, masters glum,
To stand at doors and stretch and yawn;
Fronts are swept and blinds are drawn;
The washerwoman, Mrs Dubbs,
Slip-slops off to her taps and tubs,
Washing clothes for other folk;
The cheery barber cracks a joke,
But the day's first client fails to laugh -
Fresh from a tiff from his better half.
Nine o'clock. Precise and neat,
Miss Miggs comes mincing down the street,
The town's dressmaker, pert and prim,
Sly eyes, from under her hat's brim,
Gathering gossip by the way:
The same old goings-on today -
That grocer off for his morning nip;
The chemist, too, that married rip,
Flirting again with the girl next door.
Miss Miggs gleans twenty tales to store.
Ten o'clock. The town grows brisk;
Down the main street motors whisk;
Jinkers, carts and farmers' drays
Stop at shops and go their ways;
In soleman talk with the town surveyor
Comes Mr Mullinger, our mayor,
Pausing at doors for a friendly chat;
He bows, he smiles, he lifts his hat…
Now a brisker rush and a sudden din:
'That's her!' And the city train comes in.

I Miss You
(Acoustic Guitars)
I miss the ocean.
I miss the time we made love under the stars.
I miss the summer rain.
I miss those big ole fancy cars.
I miss the blue sky.
(Cant figure this line out.)
Most of all baby, I miss you.
I miss you, oh I miss you, oh I miss you.

Miss T
It's a very odd thing -
As odd can be -
That whatever Miss T eats
Turns into Miss T.;
Porridge and apples,
Mince, muffins and mutton,
Jam, junket, jumbles -
Not a rap, not a button
It matters; the moment
They're out of her plate,
Though shared by Miss Butcher
And sour Mr. Bate;
Tiny and cheerful,
And neat as can be,
Whatever Miss T. eats
Turns into Miss T.

I miss my childhood
I miss my childhood everyday
This missing increases day by day
I miss those days of happiness
which were full of joy and naughtiness
I miss my grandpa's magnificent love
I miss my grandma's food serve
I miss my village and my darling home
Now I am sad and alone
I was used to go garden daily evening
where I see the day changing
I play their with my friends
who were perfect in that and were legends
I miss stealing of mango from trees
I miss those mountainy friendly trees
I miss play of hide and seek
we hide on guava's great peak
I miss my fields and ponds
I miss that sweet smell of my lands
I miss the scolds of elders
I miss my village builders
I miss my grandpa's old shoulders
I miss my village's brave soldiers
I miss my cow's sweet milk
I miss my cranky and playful tricks
No one can return my childhood
And that hunt for fruits in woods
I have left my childhood very far
But I need life like that with no bar
I am hungry for that love of village
my hunger becomes more with age
In this world of stress and worries
I want back my childhood glories
Life is such a name
That plays with everyone, a different game
But in every game there is some hopeful ray
I miss my childhood everyday.

I Miss You Like Christmas
The years look good on you
but I expect them to
I sure miss that smile
Look you got me grinnin'
Then I'm blushin' too
Don't have to be a genius
To see the honest truth
I miss you like Christmas baby
That's just how it's been
Yes I kind of miss us
like we were... back when
Sure I've gone on since you baby
lost my heart a time or two
I miss you like Christmas baby
That's it, I just do
The leaves begin to change
first frost is back again
... cards and pumpkin pie
jingle bells and silent night
and that old familiar end
I can't deny
I miss you like Christmas baby
that's just how it's been
Yes i kind of miss us
like we were... back when
Sure I've gone on since you baby
Lost my heart a time or two
I miss you like Christmas baby
That's it, I just do.
I miss you like Christmas baby
That's it, Ohhh I just do..

As Time Goes By
In our town there were many small shops, one selling
buttons the other socks; and a hardware store should
you need a hammer and nails to hang up a picture of
your mother -in- law, in the living room.
There was also a shop selling scarves, another selling
ladies hats, and a third one, quite posh, selling suits and
ties. I mustn’t forget the shoe shop, leather footwear
black or brown and white tennis shoes.
In our street of trade most shops have shut, those still
open are run by the Orientals where you can buy all
you need for a very small price. If your shoes wear out,
no point going to the old cobbler, buy Chinese instead.
Red lanterns sway in the fiscal breeze of decline where
wistfulness has no price tag. But you must remember
this, a shop is just a shop, yet, for us sentimental fools,
are remembered as a sweet memory of times gone by,

i miss you,
i miss your smile,
i miss you,
i miss how me you'd go the extra mile,
i miss you,
i miss your sense of humor,

i miss you,
how you would be so nice,

i miss you my sis,
i miss you,

I like walking in the park
When it gets late at night
I move 'round in the dark
And leave when it gets light
I sit around by day
Tied up in chains so tight
These crazy words of mine
So wrong they could be right
What do I get out of this?
I always try, I always miss
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't show off without someone else
In the end you will submit
It's got to hurt you a little bit
I like talking in my sleep
When people work so hard
They need what they can't keep
A choice that leaves them scarred
A view without a room
Unveils the truth so soon
And when the sun goes down
You've lost what you had found
What do I get out of this?
I always try, I always miss
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't show off without someone else
In the end you will submit
It's got to hurt you a little bit
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself

I Miss You
Thought I heard your voice yesterday
When I turned around to say
That I loved you baby
I realize, it was juss my mind
Played tricks on me
And it seems colder lately at night
And I try to sleep with the lights on
Every time the phone rings
I pray to God it's you
And I just can't believe
That we're through
I miss you
There's no other way to say it
And I can't deny it
I miss you
It's so easy to see
I miss you and me
Is it turning over this time
Have we really changed our minds about each other's love
All the feelings that we used to share
I refuse to believe
That you don't care
I miss you
There's no other way to say it
And I, and I can't deny it
I miss you
It's so easy to see
I miss you and me
I've got to gather myself as together
I've been through worst kinds of weather
If it's over now
Then I'll be strong
Can't believe that you're gone
I've got to carry over
I miss you
There's no other way to say it
And I, and I can't deny it
I miss you
It's so easy to see
I miss you and me
Oh there's no other way to say it
I can't deny it
I miss you baby
It's so easy to see
I miss you and me
Oh no other way to say it
I miss you baby
There's no other
That you're deprived of me now
That you're deprived of me now
I miss you
Said I can't deny it
I, I, I, I miss you baby
It's so easy to see
I miss you and me
