Song!

A thousand million souls arise
Out of the cradle of to-day,
And, like a living storm, beneath the skies
Go thundering on their fatal way!
But ere to-morrow’s sun
His ancient round hath run,
That storm is past—and Where are they?
Is asked of Faith by pale Dismay:
“Where—where are they?”
And Faith—even Faith herself—hath not a word to say.
With her serene assurance thrown
Like moonlight into the Unknown
And all her clasping tendrils curled
About the steadfast pillars of the never-failing world,
To that wild question of Dismay
Yet hath she not a word to say,
And only lifts her patient eyes
Up from the earth’s change-trampled sod,
To fix them, out in the eternal skies,
On all she knoweth—God.

Oh Man!

Man hath harnessed the lightning;
Man hath soared to the skies;
Mountain and hill are clay to his will;
Skillful he is, and wise.
Sea to sea hath he wedded,
Canceled the chasm of space,
Given defeat to cold and heat;
Splendour is his, and grace.

His are the topless turrets;
His are the plumbless pits;
Earth is slave to his architrave,
Heaven is thrall to his wits.
And so in the golden future,
He who hath dulled the storm
(As said above) may make a glove
That'll keep my fingers warm.

Love's Phases

Love hath the wings of the butterfly,
Oh, clasp him but gently,
Pausing and dipping and fluttering by
Inconsequently.
Stir not his poise with the breath of a sigh;
Love hath the wings of the butterfly.

Love hath the wings of the eagle bold,
Cling to him strongly--
What if the look of the world be cold,
And life go wrongly?
Rest on his pinions, for broad is their fold;
Love hath the wings of the eagle bold.

Love hath the voice of the nightingale,
Hearken his trilling--
List to his song when the moonlight is pale,--
Passionate, thrilling.
Cherish the lay, ere the lilt of it fail;
Love hath the voice of the nightingale.

Love hath the voice of the storm at night,
Wildly defiant.
Hear him and yield up your soul to his might,
Tenderly pliant.
None shall regret him who heed him aright;
Love hath the voice of the storm at night.

Hymn 120

Faith of things unseen.

Heb. 11

Faith is the brightest evidence
Of things beyond our sight,
Breaks through the clouds of flesh and sense,
And dwells in heav'nly light.

It sets times past in present view,
Brings distant prospects home,
Of things a thousand years ago,
Or thousand years to come.

By faith we know the worlds were made
By God's almighty word;
Abram, to unknown countries led,
By faith obeyed the Lord.

He sought a city fair and high,
Built by th' eternal hands,
And faith assures us, though we die,
That heav'nly building stands.

What if Faith Spoke?

A lot is asked, suppositions given
treatises delivered, scripture quoted
with but a single word, one syllable…
faith.
Ubiquitous, clichéd, indulgent too,
ringing incessantly from pulpits
this word carries much of mankind
on a whim: “Just have faith, my son! ”
And the doubters? Yes, the Thomases?
Damned they are according to some.
Prayed for by others, even burned.
“Oh ye of little faith…” Repent?
But if faith could speak, extend its hand,
would all come to see it work?
Would we then, at last forever know?
Or would we not want to know?
Perhaps the mystery and answers
are best kept hidden…
behind but a single word,
this word called faith.

Mothers Day2007

She hath my heart, she is my mum.
She hath my heart, she is my only, she is my one.
She hath my heart, though rough winds may blow.
She hath my heart, still her love will flow, her love will always show.
She hath my heart, I thank my lucky stars.
She hath my heart and i have hers.
She hath my heart, i long for her presence.
She hath my heart, her name is essence.
She hath my heart and forever she will.
Lifetimes will come and go, i will love her still
She hath my heart, this fact i cant conceal
Our bond is like sentiment you just cant kill
She hath my heart in times of sorrow.
She hath my heart, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
She hath my heart, my voice will sing.
She hath my heart, she makes the bell in my heart ring.
She hath my heart, in times of trouble.
She wont stumble no i will not let her crumble.
She hath my heart in each and every way
And my love for her grows with each day
She hath my heart for we were once one.
She hath my heart, the heart of the boy inside the man
I hath her heart, the heart we once shared.
Though separated in body the hearts still paired.
She hath my heart i need her near.
She hath my heart my mama dear
She hath my heart and she already knows
In a world of thorny bushes she stands out like rose
She hath my heart for she is always by my side
When the sun sets she is my light, she is my guide.

Sonnet XLIX: How Long

How long shall I in mine affliction mourn,
A burden to myself, distress'd in mind?
When shall my interdicted hopes return
From out despair wherein they live confin'd?
When shall her troubled brow charg'd with disdain
Reveal the treasure which her smiles impart?
When shall my faith the happiness attain
To break the ice that hath congeal'd her heart?
Unto herself, herself my love doth summon,
If love in her hath any power to move,
And let her tell me as she is a woman
Whether my faith hath not deserv'd her love.
I know she cannot but must needs confess it,
Yet deigns not with one simple sign t'express it.

Unshakeable Faith

My Faith is not unshakeable,
As some of you believe,
But with all my problems in Life,
I must have Faith indeed.

Where would I be without HIM?
What Future would I have?
I know HE'll look out for me,
And for that I must be glad.

Sometimes I have my doubts,
‘Tis Human Nature so to do,
But Hope Springs Eternal,
Have Faith ~ as I do too.

My Faith is not unshakeable,
I have my daily doubts,
When things go wrong I question it,
With ‘Swings and Roundabouts'.

I know HE is there for me,
And for all HIS creations too,
But we must be true to HIS word,
If HE's to help both me and you.

He Hath Given Me Knowledge

'Behold, He hath heard my cry by day,
And He hath given me knowledge by visions in the night time.'*
He hath too ensured a test of my faith, by way
Of separation from the object of my adorement, until the right time!
Were I left to my own devices, I would surely fail;
Because He loves me so very much, my Heavenly Father saw to avail
Me with the requisite strength of mind and faith of heart
To bide with patience, and await my true love's impart.

I would bide forever, if but rewarded with one day;
No matter of time, nor of distance, could cause my faith's allay;
I do not let doubt be; I carry not, worry;
I covet not, more devoutly; I need not, hurry;
Where and when He is assured that we are prime-
Then and only then, shall it be the right time!

Sonnet: Faith

A man with faith can win the world with ease;
A war is won with faith in its soldiers;
A leader with faith brings about world’s peace;
A faithless man always has unknown fears.

Strong faith can heal an adamant disease;
Faith in oneself makes one self-confident;
Faith in religion and God gives mind’s peace;
Faith alters in our favor, an event.

Faith is needed to maintain good friendship;
You ought to have faith in a stranger too;
Faith in the captain brings to harbor ship;
Faith is needed even to win a coup!

Have faith in the man for earthly things done;
Have faith in God for Heavenly grace won.

With faith you can see

Have faith that my Jesus walked this earth.
And that he was conceived and had a miraculous birth.

And by faith as we were not there to see,
You must accept that he died on a cruel tree.

With faith our mines eyes will show,
On the cross how his blood did flow.

Showing faith in the Bible God's holy Word.
As Jesus died the crowds shouts are heard.

Also by faith we have to believe,
From Satan the keys he did retrieve.

And with faith in him you shall not oppose,
That on the third day from the grave he arose.

And if you'll keep this faith until the end.
He'll return for you, just watch and see my friend!

“The Winds and the Sea Obey Him”

Who once hath heard the sea above her graves
Sing to the stars her requiem, and on whom
Her spell is laid of shoreward-sliding waves,
Alternate gleam and gloom,
In reverent mood and silent, standing where
Her hundred throats their diapason raise,
Hath found the very perfectness of prayer
And plenitude of praise.
Thenceforward is his hope a thing apart
From man’s perplexing dogmas, good or ill;
Deep in the sacred silence of his heart
His faith abideth, still:—
A faith that fails not, steadfast, humble, kind,
Amid a vexing multitude of creeds
That bend and break with every passing wind,
Like tempest-trampled reeds.

The tide of man’s belief may ebb or flow;
Its swift mutations, many though they be,
He heedeth not who once hath come to know
The anthem of the sea.
From sages and their blindly fashioned lore
He turns, to watch with reverential eyes
The seas men fear serve ceaselessly before
The God whom men despise!
Through length of days and year succeeding year
Earth’s strongest power serves Heaven’s still stronger one,
And all the winds, in holy-hearted fear,
To do His bidding run.
Ah, likewise serving, restless hearts, be still,
And learn, like little children, of the way—
Secure in Him, Whose strong enduring will
The winds and sea obey!

Beyond the Horizon a War is Waging

Beyond the horizon a war is waging
As raging forth is the beast of mans decay.
Upon dusty desert trails they are seeking;
The homeless ever running throughout
The hills upon which they used to cast there gazes.

Now crazed and loosing sense
Of reasonable instinct
Defence hath become an attack
Upon the nature of man himself.

When one suffers we all suffer for our race,
Faith may heal but never with the zeal
Required to race cannon fire in the name
Of any Lord of the feathered heavens above.

Imagine the dismay,
The bombs ever falling as thunderous rain,
The pain of children lost,
The pains of desert frost
As striding through the night
They search without light for fear
Of more tears falling upon their forms.

This storm of mans decay,
This dismay shall lead us nowhere
But leave us drowning
In the blood of our fellow man.

How is it that we can do this to one another?
How is it that we can not love for fear
Of loving too strongly that which our ancestors despised?

The lies of politics will get us nowhere fast in search of a lasting peace And only through truth and a willingness to accept one another can we
Begin to pick up the pieces of our races ever failing yet eternal grace.

Ceasefire it seems lies not with the desire
Of these wallowing placid generals,
Whilst their men are sent to bombard the enemy
Thou they know not where he lies.

Once more has the name of unity been shamed
And painted red with the blood of the dead.

Faith vs. Doubt

Feed your faith and starve your doubt,
Confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth,
Praise His holy name with a shout,
Drive the demons of the devil out.

First and foremost read the word,
Speak it aloud to be sure it’s heard,
Don’t be like Peter starting to cuss & swear,
Tell the world you know Jesus is there.

Doubt is deceitful and doubt is doom,
Doubt is defeated and doubt is gloom,
Faith is victory and faith is success,
Faith is the word and it brings out the best.

Imagine the Colts or Steelers being 0 & 16,
Is it sinking in now, understand what I mean?
How about the New York Yankees at 0 & 162?
What other way can I make it clearer to you?

Faith is not something you buy and exchange,
God wants it permanently stamped on your brain,
D is for the devil that wants you to deny,
Satan is jealous he’s already lost eternal life.

Faith is a trait the devil can no longer possess,
He’s already been given and failed his test,
Satan doesn’t doubt God’s love being true,
This is why he’s trying so hard to defeat you.

He tried to overthrow the Commander In Chief,
Failing miserably Satan wants more to share his grief,
Sadly, too many don’t believe Narrow is the Gate,
And all you need to do is have God given faith.

Today... 'The Word

Word of love and the Word made flesh
Word incarnate forever blessed
Word of life and the Word of light
Word of power and Word of might.

Word that was spoken, Word of the Lord
Word of the Law and the Word of God
Word of peace and Word eternal
Word of truth and last Word of all.

Word of wisdom and the Word of healing
Word from heaven, a Word so appealing
Word fulfilling the Word of prophecy
Word of the Spirit and Word of destiny.

Word of exhortation and Word of grace
Word of encouragement and Word of faith
Word of promise and a Word of insight
Word from the beginning and Word of delight.

Word of knowledge and a Word of boldness
Word of peace and the Word of righteousness
Word of the covenant and Word of love
Word of the Father from heaven above.

As You Came from the Holy Land

As you came from the holy land
Of Walsingham,
Met you not with my true love
By the way as you came?
'How shall I know your true love,
That have met many one,
I went to the holy land,
That have come, that have gone?'
She is neither white, nor brown,
But as the heavens fair;
There is none hath a form so divine
In the earth, or the air.
'Such a one did I meet, good sir,
Such an angelic face,
Who like a queen, like a nymph, did appear
By her gait, by her grace.'
She hath left me here all alone,
All alone, as unknown,
Who sometimes did me lead with herself,
And me loved as her own.
'What's the cause that she leaves you alone,
And a new way doth take,
Who loved you once as her own,
And her joy did you make?'
I have lov'd her all my youth;
But now old, as you see,
Love likes not the falling fruit
From the withered tree.
Know that Love is a careless child,
And forgets promise past;
He is blind, he is deaf when he list,
And in faith never fast.
His desire is a dureless content,
And a trustless joy:
He is won with a world of despair,
And is lost with a toy.
Of womenkind such indeed is the love,
Or the word love abus'd,
Under which many childish desires
And conceits are excus'd.
But true love is a durable fire,
In the mind ever burning,
Never sick, never old, never dead,
From itself never turning.

Remain Ever Soulful in your Gaze

Through honesty as through opening our hearts to the song of the universe
We may achieve our potential and it is only when we hath become the
Master maker of our destiny that we may adorn the mask of true dreaming
And stare unafraid into the eye of the source.

Fey of healing waters beckon with promises of rejuvenation whilst we listen to he who watches the mountain grow. Observe the change that surrounds you in the instance. Allow the pipers their time to pipe as they herald in the dawn; allow their song to flow upon harmonies sweet softening whilst strengthening your soul, listen for the rhythm, the heartbeat of your muse, choose to seize the day, please others in your way.

Embrace the calling of Deaths hand as she stands emitting an aura of wisdom.
Embrace the calling of Deaths hand as she promises a change within your pace.

Keep the faith you’ve learnt to wear so happy upon your sleeve, keep your faith
In truth even if you doubt that you will ever know for sure the way to cure the
Blues within which you find yourself swimming. Require no proof but the ability
To question alongside the ability to agree with those who would disagree with you.

Know that honesty at times bears so bitter a bite and many would choose never to Know yet these are they who would so happily loose sense of themselves for the
Promise of a comfortable lifestyle, yet do they not realise that we hath been born
To embrace the dawn not to wallow whilst swallowing their dreams and allowing
The nightmare of consumerism to unfold, take your stand, know that love of this
Land our mother the earth will prevail, and though for centuries our kind hath been
Banished to folklore fairytales once again the world will ask questions deeper than
Can be answered by those who would wish to keep them sleeping, weep not for the State of the world and know your dream is not to lay by the fireplace curled, a sloth Throughout the day.

Remain ever soulful in your gaze; remain ever soulful throughout the haze of crazy Morning smokes. As the days go by, sigh not in crying and know that it is to dream and not to try, and that the universe shall turn circles in your favour if you desire to taste the flavour of the forbidden fruit of Eden’s promise.

Paradise Shall once more be ours to wander within, if only we could open our eyes and take in the skies for what they are; a reflection upon the soul of the world.

Sonnet: Pearls of Wisdom from Jesus

‘I’ve overcome the world, ’ said Jesus Christ,
‘God does not forsake, nor abandons you.’
‘Ye men of little faith, believe at first! ’
In Jesus’ name, miracles, you can do.

Christ left as hope for us, Holy Spirit;
‘Do not worry; just live right for today.’
He dwells in hearts and souls that’s grace-light lit;
Jesus Christ is the truth, and light and way!

‘Man does not live by bread alone, ’ said Christ,
‘But by each word that God utters by mouth.’
By death on cross, Jesus third day was raised
to life, and made our living on earth, worth!

‘What God hath joined, let none put asunder!
To divorce would be sin and big blunder!
