Mortal Shower
I met my butt in a Pittsburgh
hotel room. My face
still looks like my face
but not my butt, my hair
no longer resembles an ad
for Jell-O pudding, people thought
it was chocolate pudding for years,
so thick
and rich. There was fog
in the bathroom and then not fog,
I faced my face
and then not my face, the mirror
staring at my ass
winked at the mirror
staring at my face
and the future was defined
as an effort
to use the word sag in my resume.
Have sagged, will
sag, am looking for a position
in which to maximize my sagging
potential. I once cared
what went on back there, about
the extent of grip and rise, just
as some birds crave
the reddest plumage, and I propositioned
mirrors, watched women’s eyes
follow, turned in shop windows
to see if my pants
fit their purpose. Then love
and car payments, love and the sofa
needs to be moved, love and her grandmother
dies, my grandmother
dies, love
and she comes home and I’m thrilled
by her coat and voice
and the brown habit of her eyes. She
likes my ass and lies
about its travels, how it’s lost
focus, and there are wattles
to come, please God
if dentures
only partials, may Depends
be cheap in bulk and the earth
generous with its telepathy, I’m
in Pittsburgh tonight
and with her,
mirrors don’t scare me,
room service is a gas
because she’s alive, I’m a giant,
a tight-assed
titan because she’s alive
and says
come home, the Honda needs
new brakes, a robin flew
into the window today
but shook it off, just
dizzy, stunned
by reflection.

My heart is a mirror
Your face is like my mirror, I can see it all
Your face is like a mirror, a mirror on my heart’s wall
You smile and so does my heart
Frown on your face and my smile breaks apart
The glow on your face has its reflection in my heart
Tear in your eyes and my sorrows start
The love on your face is felt by me
Your success is my ecstasy
If you feel the pain
The sorrow of my heart, I can’t explain
If you go away
My heart will no longer stay
Your face is like my mirror, I can see it all
You have my heart and so you control…

The old mirror
I look in the mirror tainted and old
What do i see? ?
I see this woman staring back at me
She does'nt speak, she does'nt smile
She looks lost with a frown
I look in the mirror is it something from the 50's?
What do i see? ?
I see this man staring back at me
He does'nt wave he does'nt nod
He stands and stares with a glare
I look in the mirror the frame varnished dark
What do i see? ?
I see this girl staring back at me
She does'nt laugh or d a cheeky face
She turns away and begins to cry
I look in the mirror round and smoke stained
What do i see? ?
I see this boy staring back at me
Glasses and combed over hair
I wonder who they are
the people in the old mirror

Mirror To Mirror
Written by gerry beckley, 1994
Found on hourglass.
I havent seen forever
Dont even know her name
I call on dreams and other schemes
To try and win that game
Now that its over, darling
Look into my eyes
Seein your own reflection
Much to your surprise
Were seein mirror to mirror
Face to face
We look but we cannot see
Mirror to mirror
Seems to trace
What happened to you and me
And though we tried in earnest
The distant silence yells
We call on wings and other things
To try and break that spell
Now that its over, darling
Truth in the common cause
We stare at our own indifference
By seeing the others flaws
Were seein mirror to mirror
Face to face
We look but we cannot see
Mirror to mirror
Seems to trace
What happened to you and me
Oh, mirror to mirror, mirror to mirror
Mirror to mirror, whats come over me
As we look inside, theres nowhere to turn
Theres nowhere to hide
Now that its over, darling
Look into my eyes
Seein your own reflection
Much to your surprise
Were seein mirror to mirror
Face to face
We look but we cannot see
Mirror to mirror
Seems to trace
What happened to you and me
Oh, mirror to mirror, mirror to mirror
Mirror to mirror, whats come over me
Mirror to mirror, mirror to mirror
Mirror to mirror, whats come over me

Face in the Mirror
She calls out to the face in the mirror
And runs her fingers down the varnished frame
Then she lights a cigarette and inhales deeply,
Leaving the lighter lit and staring into the flame.
The sun shines in through the half opened curtains
It lights up the room but not her face
The mirror still darkened as the face stands staring
Darkness wraps around her, concealing the empty space.
She never chased the dreams
Or ran through the morning light
She was never heard above the screams
She just hid in the darkness of the night,
With the face in the mirror.
Now the sun's gone down, she looks through the window
At the faces and places and motion below
The face in the mirror watches her shadow
As she sits on the window ledge waiting to go.
She sees cars drive by with their bright lights
She hears voices carrying away into the night
The face in the mirror incites her to jump
And she leaps and falls downwards flight after flight.
She never chased her dreams
Now she's chasing the ground
She wasn't heard above the screams
Now she doesn't make a sound,
And the face in the mirror smashes.

As Old As
It’s early January
Early morning
My feet are cold on the bathroom tile
And that’s not my face
Staring at me from the mirror
An older face than the one I went to bed with
Puffy skin wrinkles I don’t remember that
One gray hair does not belong to me
I am not this old man
The song of youth still
Plays in my skull my heart my
Bones ache
Eyes blur
After long day working
Hard to keep them open and
I sometimes nod off
To the late news or Letterman just like
My dad did when I was a boy
And I would look at him and think
He’s old and I
Will never be
Am not as old
As that face staring
From the mirror on this
Cold January Morning

Face of God
Someone asked; God what if we were to meet face to face?
What face would I see?
Would your eyes be slanted and blue?
Would you have a jewel in the middle of your forehead?
Would your noise be pointed or would it be flat?
Would your lips be thin or would they be full?
God what face would I see?
God answers with these words.
If we were to meet face to face here is what you would see.
Pick up a mirror and the face staring back at you is not only you it is also me.
Mirror Mirror on the Wall
*couldn't find Two Souls Intertwined so here*
Mirror, mirror on the wall. Sit and watch me take my fall.
Reflect the world right back to me and mock me against it all.
Mirror, mirror on the wall. It’s not as it should seem.
The truths are lies the lies are truth and I can’t even scream.
Mirror, mirror on the wall. You lie straight to my face.
Though the picture may be clear my mind you slowly erase.
Mirror, mirror on the wall. You’re complexion is smooth and cold.
But beneath that reflecting beauty lies something worse than bold.
Walls that see my every move; that hear my every word.
Can you hear my heart beat quicken like a tiny caged bird.
Windows that show the freedom. Out there beyond my world.
What you paint is like the mirror; deceiving at every turn.
Mirror, mirror on the wall. You see what’s in my hand.
Walls that know my secrets. I think you know my plan.
Windows that show my freedom. Shall I toss her out of you?
Face that reflects with a glimmer. Is this what you choose?
Eyes that stare back at me. I do not recognize.
The walls, the mirror, the windows too are all out for my demise.
Mind that’s been corrupted. Stare upon thy face.
If I destroy this ‘home’…shall I to be erased?
Mirror, mirror on the wall. You have seen me take my fall.
Mirror, mirror on the wall. You were never there at all.

The Mirror
'-Em que espelho ficou
perdida a minha face? '
(Cecília Meireles*)
The old mirror
In what I've looked so much times
In what I've seen my many faces
It looks like never to change
It looks like to be always the same.
But my face is not anymore
The beautiful face that I had before.
It has changed through all the ages
Like a book turning its pages.
I see the time goes by
leaving old memories
Everytime when I stare at the mirror
I see its wounds on me.
With a lot of colours
Through the years
I've painted my soul
Black, brown, gray
for the bad ones
White, yellow, blue
for the good ones.
And all my wrongs
that I've regreted
are just few stains
on the mirror.
I've cleaned the mirror
with my rights
but some of the stains
won't never disappear.
I've faced my fear
But the mirror broken
When the person for whom I fell in love
Left me alone in the cold room.
And the mirror was so dirty
When I did it bad
And it was so embarassed
when I felt myself so sad.
In this mirror I see my soul
All the scenes of my life.
My life has chaged a lot
But the mirror remains the same
through the time!

Hall of Mirrors
Starring down the long impenetrable hallway
Mirror after mirror after mirror
They always bring you back to the same spot
One turn and you walk straight into glass
Another turn and you fall on your ass
You only come face to face with yourself
There’s no escape
From the dark egotistic mind
That brought you here
To the hall of mirrors
Nobody is around to save you
It is only you
It’ll only ever be you
Trapped, lost and suffering
In a field of your repetitive reflection
It's that egotistic mind
That brought you here
To the hall of mirrors

Reflections In The Mirror
When you look in the mirror
Do you see only yourself?
Could the reflection be your soul,
Staring yoack in the face?
If there is a crack in the mirror,
Is that not a reflection of you?
The mirror reveals merely what your eyes
Want us to see
But could not a clearer reflection
Mirror infinity?

The Metaphor Of The Mirror And The Light
there is this face
in the mirror and it is talking to the body
to remind its skin
that it is real,
lights are turned off
and the face only hears a voice
from its mouth
it is assured still that it is a face
of someone it knew
so well
and will not deny it
the voice faded in darkness
and the face
hears nothing
and sees nothing about
its skin
and eyes
it is dark
and there is no voice anymore
except the
silence
and the loneliness that is about
to make a scream
to the mirror
that had long shut itself
because there is no light
the face demands a voice
the mirror begs for light
for the voice is a security
that life exists
and the light is the only
anchor of the mirror
when it becomes a boat
in the sea
of emptiness
but there is no light
and there is no voice
the mirror breaks the silence
the face becomes the wind
there is no boat
much less an anchor
there is only a word written
on paper
left on the floor
and it is spoken for no
one....

My Mirrors Past
I look into the mirror
and stare at this face.
Life has gotten dearer.
Time has left its trace.
What happened to the innocence?
Where is that youthful glow?
This isn't the mirror I saw myself in
So many years ago.
Innocence became reality.
Youth gave way to mature
Now I wish I had the mirror
I looked into before.
Mirrors show an image
We may not want to see.
The way we are today.
How we used to be.
Remember while you're looking.
The reflection doesn't last.
Just think of how it was
When you looked In Mirrors Past.

Waiting
Tonight i'll dream a girl called home
And wake up in tears
All on my own
With the sun coming up
And my head against stone
Balcony dressed and drawn
Tonight i'll dream a room so far away
Frost pale blue
The colour of a perfect day
And then screw up my face
In the mirror
As i wait for the others to call
But if i don't believe in magic
And i don't believe in blood
And i don't believe in miracles
And i don't believe in love
Then how come i believe so soon
In a cherry tree girl
And a dust blue room?
Tonight i'll dream an hour so long
Shadow soft smiles
And everyone loves me
To open my eyes
In a drag myself face undone
Hard back into the world
Tonight i'll dream a dream i dream
Without even trying i'm flying i scream
As i practice the move
I spit at my pillow stained face
And the others all come
But if i don't believe in magic
And i don't believe in blood
And i don't believe in miracles
And i don't believe in love
Then how come i believe it seems
In a girl called home
And a world called dreams?

Every Time I Face the Mirror
Every time I face that mirror
I see the face
The face of fear
Every time I face that mirror
I hear those words
I should have said
Every time I face that mirror
I see the eyes
The eyes filled with tears
Every time I face that mirror
I see the girl
The girl that is ashamed
Every time I face the mirror
I see the pain
The pain she faces every day
Every time I face that mirror

Face To Face
(b. gibb/m. gibb/g. bitzer)
Love cant be love
If its just for the moment
Only to pass the night away
As we both get nearer
Deeper love is so much clearer
Long as we do it face to face
And I have known
All the lost lonely people
My world has found a place in your smile
If youre searching
For a different love than mine
Youll never stop me loving you
More of your love
More of the warmer ride
May love for everyone be as true
No letting go, but let each other know
If we never try
Then we never lie face to face
You make a man
Like a child with your power
Help me to find my way inside
Let me drink your potion
Let me drown in your emotion
Lover to lover, face to face
In time we learn
From the lost lonely people
That love can last as long as time
There was never born another one for me
And youll never stop me loving you
More of your love
More of the warmer ride
May love for everyone be as true
No letting go, but let each other know
If we never try
Then we never lie face to face
Ill be with you when the world is lies
And the music dies
Just as long as I know there will be
More of your love
More of the warmer ride
May love for everyone be as true
No letting go, but let each other know
If we never try
Then we never lie face to face
Ill be with you when the world is lies
And the music dies
Just as long as I know there will be
More of your love
More of the warmer ride...

Think Mirror Mirror Don’t You
Mirror Mirror Don’t You Think
Mirror mirror on the wall
Don’t you ever think?
When I wash in the bathroom sink
That I want to be alone but all I see
Is the mirror reflection of me
Copying my ever move
Staring at me just to prove
I’m alive at the most
Ah you’re so wrong for I’m a ghost
So for your wrong detection
I should show no reflection
So being the good ghost I am
I will let you off with a little crack
An if you do it again I will be back
With a hammer attack!

I Saw It In The Mirror
I saw it in the mirror, I saw it in my face
That Im no longer needed, anyone can take my place
I saw it in the mirror when I look into my eyes
cause something sure is wrong when this boy cries
(this boy cries)
I saw it in the mirror, my head is hanging low
And I aint too familiar with the feelings that I show
I know you say you love me, but Im looking through your lies
It doesnt really bother you if this boy cries
(this boy cries)
I never thought I could cry for you
But honey I will miss you til the day I die
(til the day I die)
I saw it in the mirror, I saw it in my face
That Im no longer needed, anyone can take my place
I saw it in the mirror when I look into my eyes
cause something sure is wrong when this boy cries
(this boy cries, this boy cries)

Men don't care
Men see…when they look in the mirror
Grey hair, wrinkly face
replete with wisdom
So mature…so sage
Women see…when looking in the mirror
A pretty face
But with an ego that
Slowly diminishes with age
Women see…when they look in the mirror
Rearranging…
looks a-changing
Time wooshing past
Men see…when they look in the mirror
That same goofy face looking back from the glass
Doesn’t land a blow on a cast iron ego, because
Men just don’t give… a rat’s ass

The Man In The Mirror
My body is not what you think it is,
Ny face is not what you think it is,
But i ma here to love you;
For this world is not my home.
The smell of sulphur,
He died 18 years of age;
And of the decaying facial features!
For she also died 20 years ago and,
I am at the Neverland Valley Ranch to say my mind.
I am the man in the mirror,
But how do i heal the world with my love?
I am the man in the mirror,
But how do you heal the world with your love?
I am the man in the mirror,
And with vanity fairy tales around me!
But i am here to love you only.
Unnatural sounds,
He died between 18 to 20 years ago;
And of things so dangerous to me!
But i am here to love you only.
Heal the world and come to me,
Love my face and be my lover;
For i am the man in the mirror!
