A person reveals his character by nothing so clearly as the joke he resents.

A signature always reveals a man's character - and sometimes even his name.
It has been said that a nation reveals its character by the values it upholds.

Wealth, like an index, reveals the character of men.
It is with trifles, and when he is off guard, that a man best reveals his character.

Two Different Sides
It's crazy how one thing can be so important and
meaningful to one person,
But can mean absolutely nothing to another
It's wild how in one person's eyes something
can be viewed as a serious subject but
in the eyes of another it is nothing more than a joke
Life presents you with many different situations
Some people have the power to see deeper into an issue than others
They can understand that there are two sides to everything
They can see that everything affects people in different ways
There are pro's and con's in life and everyone shares
a different view
I guess all you can do is brush off
those serious matters that others consider a joke
--Even if it hurts you inside

Acting is very much like a child making believe. I'm not one to become a character, but I fall in love with the character. It's like having faith; you're going to be that person for a while.

A cautious man will observe the indications of character which nature reveals in others.
When you have to play a character that seems to be a relatively decent person and seems to be like yourself, I think the trick in that kind of character, so that you don't become a cliche, is to find where their weaknesses are.

Distance tests a horse's strength; time reveals a marls character.
Character is that which reveals moral purpose, exposing the class of things a man chooses or avoids
What's most interesting and most real to me in my work is to never make the role a complete character, because then you lose a part of the truth. I can't say that this person is just like this or like that. Because you can never do that with real people in real life, so if you try that on stage you lose the truth. Since I myself strive to be able to be a great many things, I also want my character to have that very same liberty. Eventually in that way it will add to a sort of completeness. But it is the story that is told that is the interesting thing and the situations the character is in. And as we humans always are shaped by a special situation or given circumstances, I can never ever say: Thus is my character.

The only person who had any control was Jonathan Harris. His character was so flamboyant that he was able to make things happen. My character was fairly one-dimensional, so I had my relationship with Dr. Smith and with the family.

It Is A Joke
it is a joke
and it will always be
a joke
that how it is,
it is a joke, my own joke, and i laugh
when i remember it,
i send it to you and you send it back
like a ping-pong ball
it bounces and i see it coming
back to me
it hits me right in my eyes
got double vision, cross-eyed
i am hurt. It is not a joke anymore.
it is here beside
a tear, a bruise, stained and scarred.

Lies
Baby
What do I do
Playing my tune for you
Just to get you in the mood
Everybodys going to hollywood
Youre driving me mad
But Im smiling to the crowd instead
A lot of money is at stake, this is a hit and thats a fake
This is what you mean to me
This is what they all should see
Make a make up in a foolish style
Telling the truth by making a big lie
When I come, I come but nothings at ease
Breaking up the whole is a modern disease
Maybe you think tomorrows just a joke
Its a joke after joke after joke after joke
My love
Everythings an interview
And nothings really new
And everybodys looking for clues and you know what to do with a clue
My love
Get ready for the show
Theyre waiting and they will never go
This night is just a go
And its only for show
Dig that deal and be a millionaire
Drinking cocktails in the stratosphere
Getting jetlagged with my business friends in these supersonic wonderlands
Theres a flicker on the graphic display, first hes smiling then hes fading away
Maybe he thinks tomorrows just a joke
Its a joke after joke after joke after joke

I love the creating part of taking on a character. It is fun to be another person and create what it would be like to be that person.

A person's character reaches town before the person does.
Reality TV
What has all of life been reduced to?
A hyping of a joke promoted,
To be taken seriously.
And the provoking of this one joke,
Sold to be closely monitored...
On reality TV.
To leave anyone with any credibility,
Suspected as not being truly...
A natural born citizen,
If that person has a hint of sensibility.
And this creation becomes satiated,
As a taste of life...
The way it is lived and should be!
