To the Superior Animal

To sum up all, I'm old -- and that's
A fact the years decide;
It is a common thing with cats
And not a thing to hide.

But to feel what it is -- how kind
How true to love and law
For this you must be quite resigned
And not avoid its paw.

It does not come as reckless foe
A shrinking prey to take,
But with soft footstep that we know
By comfort in its wake.

Though it spoils something -- that is true,
Which we must learn to lack
And takes alike from me and you
What never does come back.

It caters for our failing strength
In many a dainty scrap,
And gently lays us at our length
In some secluded lap.

It may bless you -- (I think it should)
Beyond what I make out,
With things perhaps too great and good
For cats to talk about.

Since I find in it blessing free
From all it can destroy,
And so its progress is to me
A miracle of joy.

But my look out to occupy
And make the most of that.
You must be quite as old as I,
If not yourself a Cat!

Its Gonna Take A Miracle

(chick rains/wade hayes)
Rainbows and falling stars couldnt change
The way things are
Or Id be in your arms tonight
Wishing dont make dreams come true
Or Id be holding you
I could change the past and make it right
Its gonna take a miracle
To bring you back
Ive got to face the fact
I broke your heart so bad this time
Nothing else is gonna change your mind
Youre gone for good I believe
Its gonna take a miracle to bring you
Back to me
So Ill climb up the stairs--get down
And say a prayer
Thats the only thing I havent tried
Lord knows I was wrong & if my faith
Is strong
I just might wake up by your side
Its gonna take a miracle
To bring you back
Ive got to face the fact
I broke your heart so bad this time
Nothing else is gonna change your mind
Youre gone for good I believe
Its gonna take a miracle to bring you
Back to me
Its gonna take a miracle
To bring you back
Ive got to face the fact
I broke your heart so bad this time
Nothing else is gonna change your mind
Youre gone for good I believe
Its gonna take a miracle to bring you

We Need Not Fight

We don't need to fight.
To make a wrong thing right.
We don't have to scream,
To demean.
For childish reasons.

Why are we so mean to each other?

And...
We don't need to debate,
Or escalate a hatred.
We should find what it takes,
To stop our hearts from aching.
Breaking into pieces.
Without a forgiveness released.

We need to pack more of that.
We need to chill and relax...
As a matter of fact!

We need not scratch like two cats.
Or run and hide like we are criminal rats.
We need to come face to face...
Without desires to attack.

Forgiveness needs to come back.
We need to pack more of that.
We need to chill and relax,
As a matter of fact.

We need not fight.
We need not fight.
We need not fight.

Forgiveness needs to come back.
We need not scratch like two cats.
Or run and hide like we are criminal rats.
We need to come face to face...
Without desires to attack.

We need not fight.
We need not fight.
We need not fight.

True Love Takes Time

This song was first released on the one world album. it is the only album it has been released on.
As I travel down the road and search the empty sky
Waiting for the moment when my eyes will see
Many are the memories the mysteries of time
How they dance around and whisper endlessly
Yes Ive travelled down this road before
Where so many men have come and gone
But you know it takes time
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
And its so very hard to find
(true love takes time)
You know that love takes time
It seemed impossible that I could care again
So it seemed I had forgotten how to give
What is this miracle that brings me back my dreams
All at once I can remember how to live
Yes Ive travelled down this road before
Where so many men have come and gone
But you know it takes time
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
And its so very hard to find
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
I have been too much alone for oh so many years
Looking for someone to sing with me
Sweet harmony
My heart is open now and tender to the touch
But there is love enough to heal me in your hands
Ill give you all my nights
All my sun and rainy days
Ill give you all the time it takes to understand
Weve travelled down this road before
Where so many fools have come and gone
But you know it takes time
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
And its so very hard to find
(true love takes time)
You know that true love takes time
(true love takes time)
(true love takes time)
(true love takes time)

Thats Good

Everybody its a good thing
Everybody wants a good thing
Everybody aint it true that
Everybodys looking for the same thing
Aint it true theres just no doubt
Theres some things that you cant do without
And thats good
Aint it true as the sun that shines
You got yours and you got mine
And thats good
Everybodys just like you its true
Everybody wants a good thing too
Now lets have a great big hand
For everybody who can understand
Lifes a bee without a buzz
Its going great till you get stung
And let us not forget to toast
Everyone who might have missed the boat
And to everybody else who waits
Until the next one sails in again
Everybody its a good thing
Aint it true its a monumental good thing

Cattitude for M'Lady Ernestine

She tells her kittens this and that
Like any feline mother would
and she makes sure they’ve understood
Just what it means to be a cat...

For cats can trace their ancestry
much farther back than humans can
They are superior to man
although humans may not agree.

There was a time when humans knew
the feline race was born to rule.
The race of man was just a tool
cats used to do what they must do.

The menial tasks of every day
beneath a felines dignity.
A cats place was to oversee
that men did their work properly.

But times have changed and now today
Cats are seen by men as pets
but no true cat ever forgets.
That they will rule again one day.

Mean while cats have to rule by guile
A wise cat always gets her way
it is a role cats have to play.
Though cats may vary in their style.

Cats make the men provide our food
and somewhere warm and dry to sleep
Cats do not need to earn their keep.
There is no reason why we should.

That’s what men were created for.
Although they claim authority
they misperceive reality.
They’re born to worship and adore.

Perhaps cats will reward them when
Cats can assume their rightful place
as rulers of the human race.
The wheel is sure to turn again.

What Makes A True Friend?

What are the qualities that a friend should
have – that which would make a true friend so true?
A friend is one whom you like to be with
while a true friend insists on being with you.

A friend likes you when you have so much in
common. True friends like you who for who you are.
True friends make you feel as though they are at
all times near, although they are very far.

A true friend is one whom you can always
talk to, even at night when it is late -
when loved ones are asleep, a true friend is
always there to hear what you have to say.

Friends like to share, but a true friend always
gives you – not what you want, but what you need.
The feelings you hide, as well as your thoughts,
and your dreams, a true friend can always read.

A friend may forgive you or they may not
forgive, for something wrong you've done to them.
A true friend forgives even when you don't
ask. True friends forgive - again and again.

Friends are close when you are close to them. A
true friend wants your friendship to be closer.
A true friend does what is best for you, and
hates that you would end up with the losers.

A true friend teaches you lessons to help
you grow – lessons that are hard and easy.
A true friend is always there - having a
true friend can never make you feel lonely.

Friends may sometimes make mistakes, but a true
friend is always careful not to hurt you.
A true friend is a guide and a teacher.
A true friend knows everything you go through.

The true friend I mention is our God,
who kept you company before you were born.
The friendship of God, if you truly keep
and cherish, you will never feel forlorn.

The true friend we all need is God (Allah) –
the One who guides and can teach us lessons,
the One who hears our calls and understands,
the One always near – in every season –

Allah, as a Friend, never judges us
by the way we look and how we appear.
Allah, as a Guide, if we ask Him for
guidance, He guides us and makes our paths clear.

Allah is with us – each day and each night –
He is always there when all are asleep.
Allah always listens when others don't.
He gives you comfort when He sees you weep.

Fortunate are those who have Allah as
a Friend. Friendship with God is friendship true.
May Allah bless me with His Friendship and
May Allah's Friendship be shared with you too.

Ameen.

What You Won't Do For Love

Yeah, I make steady for love
Venetic love
But if I'm not around
You won't think enough
I'm gonna make it real for you
Whenever I deal wit you
I do do do do anything
I guess you wonder where I've been
I searched to find the love within
So I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you
And I can't let go
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Well I'm in a daze from your love you see
I came back to let you know
Got a thing for you
And I can't let go
Some people go around the world for love
But they may never find what they dream of
What you won't do, do for love
You tried everything
But you won't give up
In my world only you
Make me do for love
What I would not do
Do for love
You tried everything
Won't give up
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Cause I'm in a daze from your love you see
So I came back to let you know
I got a thing for you
And I can't let go
And though I only want the best it's true
I can't believe the things I do for you
What you won't do, do for love
You've tried everything
But you don't give up
In my world only you
Make me do for love
What I would not do
Yeah, come on now, listen
Do they get it when the project is a queen
I gotta get to you cause you do them things to me
My love shows
Nobody knows how my ???
Cause when you're filling me up
You're enough when you're ready for that nut
Baby I'll be that buttercup
And I catch every drop
You got a chick of love
For you go to the storm
And skip to the road block
We can rumble in cuss
We can fight
We can fuss
But no I'm never giving up
It's nothing I won't do
Nothing I won't go through
You are of the joy and the pain
I will keep it true
What you won't do
Do for love
You tried everything
But you won't give up
In my world only you
Make me do for love
What I would not do
Do for love
You tried everything
Won't give up
Do for love
You tried everything
Won't give up

Peace And Propriety

in the name of propriety
to cats we must be cats too

you know what happens when
we show to the cats that we
are really dogs in feelings and
actions,

there will be a chase of course,
and chaos, and there will be war
and there will be losers and
winners,

and in this matter
and manner of speaking we choose
to be dogs to assure that we win

but that is not always the case
the cats have advanced in their feline
technology and breeding

so my dear, let us just be proper
to cats we shall be cats
and make this world a happy place
for all.

This Kind Of Love

This kind of love ain't right
Won't take us through the night
This kind of love's not true
Not good for me or you
Woke up to find myself
Standing in another day
Filled with anxiety
I'm praying for a different way
I give it all I have
Till I have no more to give
I used to think I'd die for love
Now I'd rather live
If everywhere you look, you find some misery
The view from there can make you feel
Just a little crazy
This kind of love ain't right
Won't take us through the night
Some think love equals pain, but...
This kind of love's not true
Not good for me or you
I think we got to get out of this rain
Stay walking through life
Waiting for the other shoe to fall
Dreams cut like a knife
When you think you shouldn't dream at all
I saw a dark cloud
Looks like it follows us around
It doesn't take that much, you know
To make it tumble down
How did we ever go from being so happy
To suffer alone and be strong
Just so we can keep on giving up
This kind of love ain't right
Won't take us through the night
Some think love equals pain, but...
This kind of love's not true
Not good for me or you
I think we got to get out of this rain
If everywhere you look, you find some misery
The view from there can make you feel
Just a little crazy
This kind of love ain't right
Won't take us through the night
Some think love equals pain, but...
This kind of love's not true
Not good for me or you
I think we got to get out of this rain
(Repeat Chorus)

Cats In The Well

The cats in the well, the wolf is looking down.
The cats in the well, the wolf is looking down.
He got his big bushy tail dragging all over the ground.
The cats in the well, the gentle lady is asleep.
Cats in the well, the gentle lady is asleep.
She aint hearing a thing, the silence is a-stickin her deep.
Bridge #1:
The cats in the well and grief is showing its face
The worlds being slaughtered and its such a bloody disgrace.
The cats in the well, the horse is going bumpety bump.
The cats in the well, and the horse is going bumpety bump.
Back alley sally is doing the american jump.
Bridge #2:
The cats in the well, and pappa is reading the news.
His hair is falling out and all of his daughters need shoes.
The cats in the well and the barn is full of bull
The cats in the well and the barn is full of bull
The night is so long and the table is oh, so full
Bridge #3:
The cats in the well and the servant is at the door.
The drinks are ready and the dogs are going to war.
The cats in the well, the leaves are starting to fall
The cats in the well, leaves are starting to fall
Goodnight, my love, may the lord have mercy on us all.

Can We

[VERSE 1]
Let me tell you the (truth)
I may not be what you want me (true)
I may not have all the money (true)
You cannot say that my love ain't (true)
'Cause you know that it's all about you now (true)
Sometimes I trip and be buggin' (true)
Then turn right around and want lovin' (true)
So understand me when I'm wanting (true)
Feelings for me coming from you now
[B-SECTION]
Baby you know I love you so
We can't let go never know
So I want to stay right here
Stay here with you
So can we?
[CHORUS]
Can we figure it out?
Can we talk it out?
Can we work it out? (Can we?)
Can we make it true?
Can we show it prove?
Can we make it through? (Can we?)
[VERSE 2]
Now it's (true)
Sometimes it's hard just to love me (true)
And I say some things that ain't really (true)
But that don't mean that I say ain't (true)
When I say that I do love you (true)
I've said this before but this time it's (true)
'Cause I cannot lose the one thing that's (true)
'Cause I look at you and I see a (true)
Story about me and you
[B-SECTION]
[CHORUS]
[BRIDGE]
Baby I know that we're going through
But if you put your trust in me I will please you
And baby I'm trying to show you I do
I need you right here next to me
So baby don't ever leave

Down With Love

I must have been high
I must have had plenty
If she had one
I don't know i might have had twenty
Flat on my back with the wind out of my sail
My friends all say i look a little skinny and pale
I caught a nasty little bug
One thing sure there ain't no cure
When you're down with love
My head's too hot
My nose a little runny
My family doctor
Stuck me twice and stole my money
Mirror mirror on the wall let me tell you what i see
Some kind of strung-out fool staring back at me
I need a miracle drug
One thing sure there ain't no cure
When you're down with love
Chorus:
Enough to make a grown man cry
Enough to make a mule comply
Enough to make a made dog tame
And give a man a good name
One thing sure there ain't no cure
One thing sure there ain't no cure
When you're down with love
Flat on my back with the wind out of my sail
My friends all say i look a little skinny and pale
I need a miracle drug
One thing sure there ain't no cure
When you're down with love
(chorus-twice)
One thing sure there ain't no cure
One thing sure there ain't no cure

How many can a man love?

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one but two
Yes, that’s nothing new
It’s called the midnight blues

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, not two but three
Well I suppose if the third is for free
Then so is his love meant to be!
If the third gives better head in bed
Then nothing more can be said.

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, not two, not three but four
Yes if that man is hard-core
Will the four not find him a bore?
Phew! His magic wand must be bruised and sore

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, not two, not three, not four but five
If he is poor, he needs them rich so he can survive
Or sadly he may need five only to feel sexually alive

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, two, three, four, five but six
Yes if his mates have done him a fix
Then he will do it just for the kick
Just imagine if all six, he give underneath licks
The contents alone of his mouth will make him sick

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, two, three, four, five, six but seven
Many say to a man that is like heaven
A blessing, only the chosen are given

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, two, three, four, five, six, seven but eight
I suppose that is a question for debate
Wouldn’t all the eight end up with a feeling of hate?
Each day, how does he decide whom to date?

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight but nine
Perhaps if he has had nine bottles of wine
Then he may think he is finer than fine
Loaded with bounteous cash is his sign
To get them queuing for him in an orderly line

Is it true?
Can a man love
Not one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine but ten
Well if he is not scared of producing an ocean of children
Then he may as well love eleven
And make a real football team of women and men

What It Takes To Be A Good Friend

A good friend is always kind,
Should always speak their mind,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

A good friend is there for you,
They are real, they are true- blue,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

A good friend will be there when you marry,
A heart full of memories, they will carry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

They'll be there if your father dies,
They'll weep with you when you cry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

If a good friend you do find,
Make sure they treat you kind,
Understanding they shouldn't lack,
And they would never stab you in the back,
On top of everything always remember,
A best friend is forever.

Im Free

I was stranded in the dark
Trying to find an open door
So alone
Chains were wrapped around my heart
Didnt know what love was for
No more
Heard these voices in my head
Telling me youll never escape
No you cant get away
When the spirit in me said
Your love could show me the way
My whole life changed on that day
Now Im walking in the light
All aglow
All I see is sunshine in my eyes
Skies of blue, its true
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free
Now when clouds surround me
They have no place around me
All because your love has set me free
Im free
From the time that I knew
That I could find love in you
My hearts been renewed
Now all my dreams are coming true
Im free
I was frightened in the cold
Desperate when you found me in time
You saved me from the world
Got my life back in control
Chased away the madness in my mind
You saved me right in time
Now my futures looking up
Skies of blue, all because of you
Got the sunshine in my life
All aglow, baby, dont you know
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me
Im free
Now when clouds surround me
They have no place around me
All because your love has set me free
Im free
From the time that I knew
That I could find love in you
My hearts been renewed
Now all my dreams are coming true
Im free
Im free
Out from under shadows
The only thing that matters
Is that youve worked a miracle in me

I Suddenly Felt a Great Happiness

I suddenly felt a great happiness-
The dream of so many years has come true
The one thing I wanted more than anything in the world
Has been given to me
A grandchild -
God has been so good to me
Why?
Who am I to deserve such blessing?
Still alive after all these years,
And with a daughter
Who now has a family of her own-
God Bless God, parents and children everywhere,
Israel.

Praise

I wake each morning
and count my blessing
thankful for what is given
so great and small
with praise for the Great Spirit
I learn to love and live

When those do me wrong
I learn how to forgive
and in my heart forget
with each footstep I take
I learn from each mistake
but refuse to fall

In His praise I sing his song
to every living thing He created
with His touch I've been blessed
and surely awaken
