Sonnet 07
There have been times when I could storm and plead,
But you shall never hear me supplicate.
These long months that have magnified my need
Have made my asking less importunate,
For now small favors seem to me so great
That not the courteous lovers of old time
Were more content to rule themselves and wait,
Easing desire with discourse and sweet rhyme.
Nay, be capricious, willful; have no fear
To wound me with unkindness done or said,
Lest mutual devotion make too dear
My life that hangs by a so slender thread,
And happy love unnerve me before May
For that stern part that I have yet to play.

Happy The Times Were
Happy the times were when we were free of our troubles
Happy the times were when we rode around in the car with the wind in our hair.
Dancing in the rain in the middle of the street
Running in the sprinklers at the football field at night
We were happy knowing that we weren't going anywhere
Who knew our fun would end sooner than we thought.
Winter came and all of our fun disappeared into the snow and dead leaves.
Happy the times were when everything was in our hands
But now things hang by a loose thread, not making any sense at all
Looking back at the small town with a couple of thousand to keep us company
Looking back as we drive away to the 'supposed' new great life
Happy the times were when we lived in the small town we loved so dear
Happy the times were when we had Sonora.

Two Songs
A BEE that was searching for sweets one day
Through the gate of a rose garden happened to stray.
In the heart of a rose he hid away,
And forgot in his bliss the light of day,
As sipping his honey he buzzed in song;
Though day was waning, he lingered long,
For the rose was sweet, so sweet.
A robin sits pluming his ruddy breast,
And a madrigal sings to his love in her nest:
'Oh, the skies they are blue, the fields are green,
And the birds in your nest will soon be seen!'
She hangs on his words with a thrill of love,
And chirps to him as he sits above,
For the song is sweet, so sweet.
A maiden was out on a summer's day
With the winds and the waves and the flowers at play;
And she met with a youth of gentle air,
With the light of the sunshine on his hair.
Together they wandered the flowers among;
They loved, and loving they lingered long,
For to love is sweet, so sweet.
BIRD of my lady's bower,
Sing her a song;
Tell her that every hour,
All the day long,
Thoughts of her come to me,
Filling my brain
With the warm ecstasy
Of love's refrain.
Little bird! happy bird!
Being so near,
Where e'en her slightest word
Thou mayest hear,
Seeing her glancing eyes,
Sheen of her hair,
Thou art in paradise, —
Would I were there.
I am so far away,
Thou art so near;
Plead with her, birdling gay,
Plead with my dear.
Rich be thy recompense,
Fine be thy fee,
If through thine eloquence
She hearken me.

Dear little Darling
I don't have any kids but someday when i do i would like to say this one for them on there wedding day.
Dear little darling,
My sweet little child
I woke up this morning
With a thought in my head
I love you a lot
My dear sweet child
I love you so much
I made a poem,
Just for you sweet child
I want to see you grow,
I want to see you blossom,
I want to sing you lullabies,
I want to whisper soft words,
You make me smile
You make me laugh
You also make me cry,
I cry because I am happy
Happy to see you,
Happy to see you grow
I am filled with joy to see you every day
I am glad you are my child;
I know this poem doesn’t rhyme,
It doesn’t have to
You are what the poem is about,
I watched you grow,
I watched you blossom,
I sang sweet lullabies,
I whispered soft words,
And now its time for me to say goodbye;
You are my life, my gift from heaven
Although you are grown up
And it’s your wedding day
A day of happiness
A new chapter in your life,
But just remember this
You will always, be my sweet child.
Where Can It Go
(robert palmer)
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part oh oh
A searching love
Is a precious thing
Easy to spoil
And so hard to give in to
The blame is shared
When we meet half way
Desire is real
Its a path to be taken
Even sleep can turn cruel
When your hearts confused
Whether we spend our lives together
Or we never see each other again
Ill always celebrate
The times that we both knew
Baby your love is here
Is mine with you?
In the deep of our eyes
We just wait to be taken
Sometimes weve been mistreated
By the love we gave
Honey were not pretenders
We both know life isnt only a game
Ill always celebrate the times that we both know
Baby your love is here
Where can it go?
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part
When love comes in
And takes your heart
Just let it go
And play your part oh oh
When love comes in and takes your heart
Let it go and play your part

A Holiday
The Wife
The house is like a garden,
The children are the flowers,
The gardener should come methinks
And walk among his bowers,
Oh! lock the door on worry
And shut your cares away,
Not time of year, but love and cheer,
Will make a holiday.
The Husband
Impossible! You women do not know
The toil it takes to make a business grow.
I cannot join you until very late,
So hurry home, nor let the dinner wait.
The Wife
The feast will be like Hamlet
Without a Hamlet part:
The home is but a house, dear,
Till you supply the heart.
The Xmas gift I long for
You need not toil to buy;
Oh! give me back one thing I lack –
The love-light in your eye.
The Husband
Of course I love you, and the children too.
Be sensible, my dear, it is for you
I work so hard to make my business pay.
There, now, run home, enjoy your holiday.
The Wife (turning)
He does not mean to wound me,
I know his heart is kind.
Alas! that man can love us
And be so blind, so blind.
A little time for pleasure,
A little time for play;
A word to prove the life of love
And frighten care away!
Tho’ poor my lot in some small cot
That were a holiday.
The Husband (musing)
She has not meant to wound me, nor to vex –
Zounds! but ‘tis difficult to please the sex.
I’ve housed and gowned her like a very queen
Yet there she goes, with discontented mien.
I gave her diamonds only yesterday:
Some women are like that, do what you may.

In A Simple Rhyme
Well, back in the past when I was treated so coldly,
My love life was a darn disgrace.
Needed someone to love and hold me.
Thats one of the reasons that I was out of place.
So this is love! well, she finally kissed me.
Had me all worked up inside.
I was in love, but cupid missed me.
She up and left, and I almost died.
But I was young and I was far from lonely.
I been that way for a long, long year.
Needed a girl to call my one and only.
Is that you?
You think you got the intrest.
Cmon and take the time.
cause you know I wanna be
Yours in a simple rhyme.
Well, aint life grand when you finally hit it?
Im always a sucker for a real good time.
Woke up in life to find I almost missed it.
Aint I glad that love is blind?
But I was young and I was far too crazy.
Been that way for a long, long time.
Needed a girl, but I was just too lazy.
Now that Ive found you:
You think you got the intrest.
Cmon and take the time.
Im gonna be
Yours in a simple
Rhyme,
Rhyme.
She made her mountains sing.
Birds against an icy sky.
And I heard bells ringin
I think I heard an angel sigh. and she said:
Therell be times,
There will be times
Youre gonna hear the angels singin
Ah.
Ah.
Ah.
You think you got the intrest.
Cmon and take the time.
Im gonna be
Yours in a simple
Rhyme,
Rhyme,
Rhyme.

At play
Play that you are mother dear,
And play that papa is your beau;
Play that we sit in the corner here,
Just as we used to, long ago.
Playing so, we lovers two
Are just as happy as we can be,
And I'll say "I love you" to you,
And you say "I love you" to me!
"I love you" we both shall say,
All in earnest and all in play.
Or, play that you are that other one
That some time came, and went away;
And play that the light of years agone
Stole into my heart again to-day!
Playing that you are the one I knew
In the days that never again may be,
I'll say "I love you" to you,
And you say "I love you" to me!
I love you!" my heart shall say
To the ghost of the past come back to-day!
Or, play that you sought this nestling-place
For your own sweet self, with that dual guise
Of your pretty mother in your face
And the look of that other in your eyes!
So the dear old loves shall live anew
As I hold my darling on my knee,
And I'll say "I love you" to you,
And you say "I love you" to me!
Oh, many a strange, true thing we say
And do when we pretend to play!

Its That Fear
It's that fear
Ooo very scary! !
I bet you don't know it
Keeps you worried
It's that fear...
Very loud in your ear..
But not everyone could hear
It's that fear
Why? Y u even here
Leaving people in tears..
It's that fear
Born and raised
Can be of denial
Struggles, family or revival
It's that fear
That keeps consuming..
Consuming us in out! !
Eating us away...
It's that fear
The fear we hate
Come to us in pace
In life circumstance
It's that fear
Can anyone hear?
Like a monster or dear?
I wish it was fair..
it's that fear
Some say never fear
But in the back they tear
Overwhelmed can't even dare
Trying to overcome the fear..
It's that fear
The fear which keep us
Us alive and awake
Awake from unexpected
Awake to fight against
It's that fear
I want all to hear..
You and me here..
We need to chase Mr. Fear
We could make it
Make this a better world
Without the fear
The fear of loss
The fear of famine
The fear of war
The fear of poverty
The fear of religion
The fear of recognition
Why are we in fear...?
Can't it be there not here..
It's time to chase him out there
Leaving us in peace in here
It's that fear
The fear which is not only mine
It's that fear for all
The fear we both hear
Hear from different angles
Hear in different times
We all just don't want him here...
The fear we both imagine
An illusion body..
Could affect your goals
Never entertain that fear.
An Invisible Thread
An invisible thread
Of understanding
Connects and binds
The two of us
As none other thing
Would do
It hangs on mutual
Love and affection
Care and confidence
The thread may tangle
It may loosen
However,
It will never break
Selfless purity
In our relationship
Shall make it stronger
Day by day

Happy Home
In my happy home I barely breathe
In my lovers arms I find relief
And there's a sky that's changing and a bird that sings
I never once in my wayward life was heading to run out
In my lovers arms I wait for morning
I beg my god to speak and tear me apart
I'd lay down my body I'd lay down my arms
I never once in my sweet short life meant anybody harm
In my happy home i read the signs
In my lovers arms I move in time
There's no more crying and there's no more lies
I never once in my sweet short life was waiting for desire
And there's no more crying
And there's no more pain
I never thought for one second I'd have nothing left but shame
In my happy home I barely breathe
I never once in my wayward life was heading to run out

Time Bomb?
I think i love you
But thought too late
Now it looks like
I'll have to wait
But how long am i gonna have to wait for?
You've found another
And live with her
And now i hardly see you
But think of the good times that we shared
How long am i gonna have to wait for?
Will you ever come back to me?
And start what we never started
I feel it in my heart
Still feels new
Long am i gonna have to wait for?
You always seem glad to see me
An wanna spend more time
Like i wanna spend with you
No lies
Am i gonna have to wait for?
I made you happy
Didn't i?
But it never got that far
I gonna have to wait for?
Our friends said
We were made for each other
But we never saw it then
I see it now
As clear as i see your eyes
Gonna have to wait for?
Do you love her
You said you do
But do you really mean it
Does she feel the same
Have to wait for?
What's the answer
Going to be
Will i know
Or do i carry on
To wait for?
I just don't know
Wait for?
Running outta time
For?

I Fear Everything, My Dear
I fear everything, my dear,
Though I am sad to say.
I fear many a thing, my love,
Regretfully you among them.
I fear all emotions of life, my sweet,
They cloud better judgement.
I fear, I'm sad to say this dear,
But I can never love you,
No matter how much I want to.
I fear everything, my dear,
Though I wish it wasn't so.
I fear many things, my love,
And you scare me as well.
For I fear all emotions, my sweet,
And you make my heart sing.
But I can never show my weakness,
That my biggest fear of all,
Is ever losing you.

Love Me Now
Yes I know how much you love me
But cant you realize Id cause you just pain
Cause me like me capricious and free
Live life alone and confused
Yet loving whoever they choose
Yes I know how much you need me
But I just patronize with this affair
Cause my life Ive needed to be
A man with a mind full of craves
Living to learn from each phrase
Love me now while Im here
Love you this man
Take me as I am
The storm of your life
And hear me out Ive something to say
Love is a moment in time
And now that its yours and its mine
Love me now while Im here
Love you this man
Take me as I am
The storm in your life

A Woman’s Sonnets: XII
'Tis ended truly, truly as was best.
Love is a little thing, for one short day;
You could not make it your life's only quest,
Nor watch the poor corpse long in its decay.
Go forth, dear, thou hast much to do on earth;
In life's campaign there waits thee a great part,
Much to be won and conquered of more worth
Than this poor victory of a woman's heart.
For me the daylight of my years is dim.
I seek not gladness, yet shall find content
In such small duties as are learned of Him
Who bore all sorrows, till my youth is spent.
Yet come what may to me of weal or woe,
I love thee, bless thee, dear, where'er thou go.

The Record
Fearing that she might go one day
With some fine fellow of her choice,
I called her from her childish play,
And made a record of her voice.
And now that she is truly gone,
I hear it sweet and crystal clear
From out my wheezy gramophone:
"I love you, Daddy dear."
Indeed it's true she went away,
But Oh she went all, all alone;
Into the dark she went for aye,
Poor little mite! ere girlhood grown.
Ah that I could with her have gone!
But this is all I have to show -
A ghost voice on a gramophone:
"Dear Dad, I love you so."
The saddest part of loss 'tis said,
Is that time tempers our regret;
But that is treason to the dead -
I'll not forget, I'll not forget.
Sole souvenir of golden years,
'Twas best to break this disc in two,
And spare myself a spate of tears . . .
But this I cannot do.
So I will play it every day,
And it will seem that she is near,
And once again I'll hear her say:
I love you so, Oh Daddy dear."
And then her kiss - a stab of woe.
The record ends . . . I breathe a plea:
"Oh God, speed me to where I know
Wee lass, you wait for me."

Sonnet XVII: Why Should I Sing in Verse
Why should I sing in verse, why should I frame
These sad neglected notes for her dear sake?
Why should I offer up onto her name
The sweetest sacrifice my youth can make?
Why should I strive to make her live for ever,
That never deigns to give me joy to live?
Why should m'afflicted Muse so much endeavor,
Such honor unto cruelty to give?
If her defects have purchas'd her this fame,
What should her virtues do, her smiles, her love?
If this her worst, how should her best enflame?
What passions would her milder favors move?
Favors (I think) would sense quite overcome,
And that makes happy Lovers ever dumb.

Our Story
Sweet Oh sweet smell of all the many white and pink roses you gave me,
They full my room with happiness and so much beauty of life,
Valentine’s day tomorrow? ? Already?
Everyone in love will be together,
Except for you and me: / Wish it could be different,
But I know you have your basketball game,
And I wouldn’t let you cancel it anyways.
Though seeing you only once a week is killing me inside,
It’s just way too damn hard,
I’ve never missed anybody as much as I always miss you.
Once we’re apart all of that pain comes right back so very quickly.
Can’t wait for summer…
Maybe then we can finally be together a lot more.
Here I am right now,
Reminiscing all the good times we’ve had together,
It keeps replaying over and over in my head,
So much laughter, happiness, smiles, & pure love.
Oh how you can make me so mad some times,
That I don't even want to speak to you,
But that soon fails,
I can never seem to stay mad at you for too long,
You're the only person I have ever given a 2nd chance to,
While forgiving and forgetting what you have done,
And I've never once regretted my choice to this day,
You've proven to me so much over the past 4 months,
I some times wonder how much my life would of so sucked,
without you...if I didn't give you that one 2nd chance.
Thank God I did, because really...
You're the only one who makes me happy in this world,
You make me feel so free & alive when I'm with you,
Taking away all of my pain & sins from me in just one touch.
Did you know...
When I'm so very down and having to worst day ever,
You're one phone call can completely change that in just a second.
Baby…I want you to know….
When that special time comes I will be ready,
I want you to be my first & only as well as yours,
Let’s go all the way tonight,
No regrets…just love

Love Make Me Strong
(terry britten/sue shifrin)
Theres no power capable of
Coming between us--dividing our love
To be faithful I have sworn
Together we can weather the storm
Our tomorrows are ticking away
Our hands are tied--were victims of fate
In my darkness I will pray
For destiny to send me your way
Love make me strong
Give me the strength to carry on
Love make me strong
A tower of strength to lean upon
Love make me strong
The seven seas wont keep us apart
Not with an ocean of love in my heart
My devotion will see me through
Cause nothings gonna keep me from you
Love make me strong
Give me the strength to carry on
Love make me strong
A tower of strength to lean upon
Love make me strong
Oh its a sad sad story
True lovers forced to part
Shot down in all its glory
Youll hear the sound of broken hearts
My devotion will see me through
Cause nothings gonna keep me from you
Love make me strong
Give me the strength to carry on
Love make me strong
A tower of strength to lean upon
Love make me strong
Oh oh love make me strong
Love make me strong, make me strong
Love make me strong

Baby Come On Home
There was a time
I used to call ya all my very ow__n.
We were so happy woman,
Talkin for hours an hours on the telephone.
An then one day
I said you upd and walked-a righta outa my life,
Leavin me all by myself,
All alone to cry every night.
Babe, babe, babe
Whoah,
Come on home.
I want you to come back home yeah.
Ohhh yeah.
Sweet little girl ahh,
You been gone too long.
You been away so long
Now listen to me.
I said I made up my mind,
A-woman when you left me there oh.
I was gonna find another sweet lover
A-gonna feel all-a-my, all-a-my, all-a-my care.
So I met a sweet little girl,
Just about as nice as she could be ahh.
I fell in love with that woman
But she turned around and did the same
Thing again to me ohh~ohh.
Babe, oh! babe, babe
Baby, baby
Come on home.
Please come home ho__ yeah, its alright.
Ohhh yeah.
I know
You been gone too long.
You been away so long.
Babe, babe, babe
I want you to please
Come on home.
Come home ohh.
Ohhh yeah.
You been gone too long.
So I made up my mind:
Im gonna crawl right back to you woman,
Im gonna plead and plead and plead yeah,
til youre here by my side.
I cant even walk down the same
Old streets we used to walk down
cause I keep thinkin bout all the good times.
Keep thinkin bout it, I wanna make you mine.
Ohh babe,
Babe, babe, babe, babe babe
Please
Come on home. come home yeah.
Ohhh yeah.
You been gone too long.
I want you to ohh-ah,
Babe, babe, babe
I want you to come back runnin
Come on home.
Home to me woman.
Ohhh yeah.
I want you to sing about
When we walked through the trees together.
You been gone too long.
You know we had such a real good time.
Whoah, here they come!
Babe, babe, babe
I believe its always callin.
Can you feel the brown leaf against your face?
You oughta sing and shout and say
Ohhh yeah.
Baby, baby, baby
You been gone too long.
I want you to come home.

Feels so right that it cant be wrong.

Whenever I hear that song of mine.
When it stops better press rewind.
