Beauty is a precious trace that eternity causes to appear to us and that it takes away from us. A manifestation of eternity, and a sign of death as well.

A lot of places we go, when they see the organ coming in, they're expecting rock and roll, but after they hear us play they like it. To me, guitar cuts through-it carries more than organ. But organ has got more guts.

I played the organ when I went to military school, when I was 10. They had a huge organ, the second-largest pipe organ in New York State. I loved all the buttons and the gadgets. I've always been a gadget man.

Just an Organ
It has been stated that the heart is just in organ.
But if it was just in organ why when a person falls in love they can feel that emotion in their heart.
If it was just an organ why when love is lost does the sadness that one feels seem to shatter the heart?
If the heart is just an organ why when a child wins a prize does a parent feel pride in their heart?
The heart is much more than just in organ it is the house of our emotions.
From the emotion of love, and sadness to the pride that swells in each of us.
The heart is not just an organ.
Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement.

I had been inspired by an organ player named Earl Grant, who played organ and piano together. My mom took me to see him. So I went home, put my piano and organ together, too.

Lust, the root of youngness
Women portrayed
In romantic classics,
Heroines decked out
In celluloid,
Sexy music
In lusty lyrics, and
Thoughts and deeds
Fully around women
Are all manifestation
Of lust and lust
That we miss in our nest.
Lust, we need not detest.
Every action zeros to lust.
Every organ zeros to carbon.

In His Own Way
I feel I’m in heaven when
I hear that music, Father said,
Sitting in the chair in the garden,
Recovering from some old illness,
Hearing the Couperin organ masses
Playing through the open window
From your old black and red hi-fi
Record player. He was nearer to
Heaven than he thought, cancer
Was creeping through him like a
Silent snake. He didn’t go much on
Your Ornette Coleman’s alto runs
And tweaks of free jazz; what racket’s
That he’d say, trying to snooze in the
Afternoon sun, his companion Death
Lingering by, waiting for him in his
Own time to die. The garden’s empty
Now; his chair vacated, no more of
Couperin organ masses or Coleman’s
Free jazz playing out from an open
Window on a summer’s day, just birds
Singing nature songs across the way.

Violet The Organ Grinder
Chorus:
I am violet the organ grinder
And I grind all the live long day
I live for the organ, that I am grinding
Ill die, but I wont go away
I am violet the organ grinder
And I grind all the live long day
I live for the organ, that I am grinding
Ill die, but I wont go away
Ooh, wait a minute, I think u better trip on this
Ooh, wait a minute, I think u better trip on this
I was on my way to another room
When an image of u sweetly
Appeared in the mirror
Perhaps u recall
U and I were neatly
In the middle of a crystal ball
That now serves as a reminder
On the wall of u and I the organ grinder
In the greatest concert of them all
I am violet the organ grinder {chorus in the background}
And I grind all the live long day
I live for the organ, that I am grinding
Ill die, but I wont go away
Did u know that I still have your stockings?
I keep em in a drawer next to your brazier
Come hither, my sweet, lend me your attention,
Come hither lend my your ear
I do believe that my piano was stolen
I do believe that u want me near
Well I can deal with a sucker
If hes in your mouth,
But I cant deal with insincere
Im the one that lives in your heart
U love me, no matter what u say
Swear you dont miss the organ grinder
Grinding on you every day
I am violet the organ grinder (I am violet the organ grinder)
And I grind all the live long day (and I grind all the live long day)
(check this out)
Ooh, wait a minute, I think u better trip on this
I took all the pictures you gave me,
And I placed them right under my bed
And I pumped and I pumped
til the gasm much as jumped
From my feet to the top of my head, oh boy!
Im violet the organ grinder {chorus in the background}
And I grind all the live long day
I live for the organ, that I am grinding
Ill die, but I will not go away
Ooh, wait a minute, I think u better trip on this
Like a puppy, I licked your devotion
From your neck from your eyes from your ears
When you cry, I became your emotion,
And if u ever cry like that again
Ill be here
cause Im violet the organ grinder {chorus in the background}
And I grind all the live long day
I live for the organ, that Im grinding
Ill die, but I wont go away
Not even...
[peace to the mutha]
(who turned the mother out)
[peace to the mutha]
(who turned the mother out)
I am violet the organ grinder
And I grind all the live long day
I live for the organ, that I am grinding
Ill die, but I wont go away

Eternity By And By
A fictitious dream it may seem
A pie in the sky it may look
A piece of sweet music it may sound
Which the heart sooths but the pain intact remains
A childish narrative it may effect
A bitter sweetly camouflaged death pill it may spill
A delicate warm air filled balloon it may seem
That bursts into oblivion when pierced
Bribery into good actions it may be perceived
By the mortal earth inhabiting
The fear of mortal reality to subside
Yet eternity mortality thwarts
Eternity by and by ever be
As real as you breathing be
As intact and as in your conscience
Eternity by and by ever present ever real
Eternity by and by immortality presents
To the earth inhabiting mortal souls
It beckons it invites
Eternity by and by ever inviting
Eternity by and by so infinitely finite
Incomprehensible but within grasp
Within a conscience and without the universe
Eternity by and by ever within
Eternity by and by not elusive yet elusive seems
Deliberately decide its elusiveness to evade
Deliberately decide its comforts to enjoy
Eternity by and by ever comfortable
Eternity by and by …….

I really liked them, not just Syd, but all of them. Roger was very important, I thought, his contribution. And so was Rick's organ playing. It was a good band. It became something else completely, obviously.

Sleep little flea
Little boy ? me?
A freak
Am I clean?
([background whisper] sleep)
I feel like men
(sleep little flea)
I feel like boys
(little boy me)
I think Im peeling
And the ring in my ears
From playing too loud
I hear the ocean
I hear the crowd
Disconnected
I am unattached
Unmade bed makes me feel like a failure
Bedroom eyes lead to blurry vision
Blurry vision
Oh...
Oh...
And the ring in my ears
From playing too loud
I hear the ocean
I hear the crowd
Too pale, too sick
Too scrawny
But Ill sleep here anyway
And the sheets smell like bodies
Not mine
Not yours
Not yours...
Its 2 am
And its quiet again
Wheres my lip gloss?
And the ring in my ears
From playing too loud
I hear the ocean
I hear the crowd
And the ring in my ears
From playing too loud
I hear the ocean
I hear the crowd
And the ring in my ears
From playing too loud
I hear the ocean
I hear the crowd

The Most Beautiful Vision
The light caught your eye
And your smile lit the room
I felt my heart skip a beat
A warmth filled my thoughts
How amazing you looked
For there and then I looked upon
The most beautiful vision
That I have ever seen
Held in my memory so perfect
I smile foolishly at times
You filled me with a joy
Something I cannot forget
Your picture is held to my heart
The light of your smile
And warmth of your eyes
The way I saw the soul in you
You will always be
The most beautiful vision
That I shall ever see

Children Shadows
Into the wind children voices echo’s
From near and far
Laughter of joy
Having fun in a large meadow
Linking to a empty space
The first rising of the moonlit
Night
The images of children within
The moonlit night
Vision of children playing
Around the old, old oak
Tree..
In the first rising of the moonlit
Night,
Vision of children playing within
The realms of shadows run.
In and out of the moonlit night
The children softly, softly fades
Into the night..

What do I think of human beauty? What beauty will save the world?
There is only one example of beauty on earth and that is Jesus Christ. The manifestation of this figure is of immeasurable beauty and certainly a miracle.
For St. John, beauty goes in this direction: the only beauty consists in the incarnation. This is the manifestation of Beauty. Beauty, understood as spiritual beauty, will save the world in the sense of privileging life.

This Was Once History
A grey cloud appeared today
And the rain came down
The sky was angry it seemed
Because the sun wore a frown
This Was Once History
The winds picked up again
How the silence filled the room
A vision of a lonely land
Filled with tears and gloom
This Was Once History
