As one looks across the barren stretches of the pack, it is sometimes difficult to realise what teeming life exists immediately beneath its surface.

Initial Attraction
What lies beneath the surface smile?
which you display to everyone?
The mask you wear to be in style.
What lies beneath is yours alone.
Does it indicate interest?
What lies beneath the surface smile?
And will I perhaps pass the test
enjoy your company for a while.
Is it a sign of practiced guile?
or simple act of self defence.
What lies beneath the surface smile?
Must I rely on my sixth sense?
My need to know grows more intense
I am prepared to wait awhile
to try and gain your confidence.
What lies beneath the surface smile?

Poem For Sam
'always going, never arriving.'
i've thought about this one
for a while.
and i think there's another step!
the bare limbed tree in winter,
frozen branches, no sign
of life.
and yet beneath the surface,
life is forming, having been lost,
begins again!
perfect stillness.
no need for going,
or arriving ... you're
already there!
all that is life
is present.
what you seek for
you already are!
take off your shoes,
lay down your pack,
and embrace each breath.
the tides come in
and go out.
but the ocean remains!

Life or something like it
A flower stretches toward the sun.
alone. unoticed such a pitiful sight
she will not give-up, no not this one
as darkness decends upon the land
a flower stretches toward the sun
alone in the shadows, there she will stand
and sit, and wait for coming of the sun
spring is over, summer is soon done
around the corner comes Winters icy blast
a flower stretches toward the sun
in the cold the lonely flower dies, at last
with a push and with some screams
somewhere a new life has just begun
a life full of hopes and of dreams
and a flower stretches toward the sun

Vastly The Veldt, The Bush Stretches Out About Me (Idyll) (In Answer To Sir Philip Sidney)
I
Vastly the veldt, the bush stretches out about me
where nature is left to its own existence,
where all kinds of game roam free
and here is nothing to bother with an insistence
and the weary traveller on this earth
can find a new kind of longing, a new kind of hope,
like a kind of refreshing new birth
while thoughts go past the normal human scope
where a person wonders about the creator of things
while serenity is displayed where ever you look,
bees and birds continually sing about happy tidings
and nowhere one can get this experience in a book
that comes as some kind of divine blessing,
you have got to realise that there is more to life and living.
II
You have got to realise that there is more to life and living
that every word and deed leaves a mark, a own impact,
comes as benevolence or a kind of attack,
that there’s more to life that taking and giving
that nature’s innocence and violence draws and sting
and our actions on to it we can never take back,
even our wanderings on a natural track
leaves its mark on mere existing
that somehow nature needs to be left unspoilt
while we live in a kind of ruling arrogance,
this deadly paradise has its own kind of dazzling
while we effect change, like gods live rich and spoilt
while we hide beyond a cloak of ignorance,
seldom do we realise the beauty of the coming spring.
III
Seldom do we realise the beauty of the coming spring
and yet on a farm I have met a rural girl
who brings another feeling to existing, something touching,
while in the veldt sometimes dust clouds whirl
the strange solitariness feels as if it’s alive
and she has taken me to her hidden places,
the places dear to a sweetheart or wife
where violets grow wild, wildflowers have different faces
and the sun shines friendly in a blue hued sky,
where you can feel the great tranquillity,
see birds in their coloured swarms fly
and realise that here is some strange kind of unity
a kind of unspoilt idyllic life
that exists happily without any kind of strive.

Prosperity
Come, thou queen of every creature,
Nature calls thee to her arms ;
Love sits gay on every feature,
Teeming with a thousand charms.
Meet me mid the wreathing bowers,
Greet me in the citron grove,
Where I saw the belle of flowers
Dealing with the blooms of love.
Hark! the lowly dove of Sharon,
Bids thee rise and come away,
From a vale both dry and barren,
Come to one where life is gay.
Come, thou queen of all the forest,
Fair Feronia, mountain glee,
Lovelier than the garden florist,
Or the goddess of the bee.
Come, Sterculus, and with pleasure,
Fertilize the teeming field;
From thy straw, dissolved at leisure,
Bid the lea her bounty yield.
Come, thou queen of every creature,
Nature calls thee to her arms;
Love sits gay on every feature,
Teeming with a thousand charms.

Art Elastic Time Stretches
art time
art elastic time
stretches
into art objects
art achieved
stretches stayed
into life poverty
or life prosperity?
still life time
distilled thoughts
writing time
web skill lifetimes
mind eye painting
heart hand drawing
soul clay beating sculptures
fine arts ability embellishes
art achieved stasis
stretches framed plays
into frozen life poverty
or sales life prosperity?

Life Is Difficult
Life is difficult-
Surprises are not always what we hoped they would be-
People misunderstand us-
We imagine we are kind
And they understand us differently-
Some problems never get solved
Some remain lingering for years-
There are cruel people in the world
Stupid ones also-
The fair do not always get the prize
The pushers push push push the good guys aside-
We see the Evil grinning and we cannot touch them-
All kinds of Hopes we have are disappointed-
Rejection is the Fate of everyone at one time or another
One has to try and try and try
And often that is not enough-
Life is difficult
And after a certain age is more difficult
And when young is also difficult-
Life is difficult in some time or some way for all of us
It just is-
Life is difficult
And even when it seems not to be
There is another time coming-
Life is difficult
And so long as we live
It will be.

There are two sorts of curiosity -- the momentary and the permanent. The momentary is concerned with the odd appearance on the surface of things. The permanent is attracted by the amazing and consecutive life that flows on beneath the surface of things.

In It For The Ease of It
It's not difficult to perceive,
That there are those living who believe...
Some folks live lives that are easy.
And these folks should assist others to succeed!
In fact...
Hold them by the hand.
And show them how to breathe!
It's not difficult to see...
Others sitting on their butts,
And complaining from sun down to sun up!
With nothing good to say...
About anything that comes their way.
They are in it for the ease of it.
In some deluded and fantasized existence.
Waiting they do for some golden ship...
To spend the rest of a 'blessed' life,
Removing reality from it!
Although surrounded by a shallowness.
A deepened one that for them now exists!

All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital.

The Wonder Of It All
In the time it takes for us to blink our eyes
somebody is born and someone else dies.
The way of the world is through life and death
all that exists is nourished by food and breath.
In just a fleeting moment so much goes on
it’s a wonder for our mind to reflect upon.
Yet all that ever happens has a beginning and end
in the vastness of time and space it has to contend.
What is life about and our purpose on this world here?
Is it not to grow and expand, to realise something dear?
We all have basic desires to achieve one thing or another
a sort of instinct or legacy through our father and mother.
In self knowledge and expression we all reveal the way forward
one step at a time or in leaps and bounds we come closer toward
where this impulse of life leads us or directs each one to go
while the emphasis is always to learn, live, love and to grow.
In life we all have to face situations by which we gain or lose
yet it depends so much on our ability and freedom to choose.
If we see beyond our present circumstances it’s a positive sign
and experience may prove that there was only an imaginary line.
In relationships there are certain things that we all come to know
whatever doesn’t appear on the surface, otherwise hard to show.
To cultivate or develop the best in ourselves and others is a worthy ideal
though many people have a tendency for the false instead of what is real.
There are so many aspects of life we take for granted or even miss their point
in our daily struggle for survival whoever we are or find ourselves at this joint.
It takes much discriminative knowledge based on experience to come out ahead
at the end of each day be able to relax or rest and even sleep soundly in our bed.
We’re all prone to the malady of living wherever we may happen to be
as long as we don’t make it harder for ourselves or others in being free.
And in seeking the right solutions to those problems or dilemmas that we face
we should realise them to be relative not just to one particular time and place.

Saawan Season!
Here come now
the teeming clouds of saawan season
for weary, dry and thirsty soil
bring the message
from the worthy sacred Heaven
the teeming clouds of Saawan season...
they shower kind and gentle rain
fast in speed
but mild in temper
and change in a while entire vision
the teeming clouds of Saawan season...
but-that's a fact
with flowers' smile and pleasant scent,
with eyes' glow and hearts' glee
there's a fear and a wish beside
' May He save us from destruction
of teeming clouds of Saawan season...'

It's funny how...
It's funny how its requires us to lose some one in order to realise what we had in that person
It's funny how some thing drastic needs to occur for us to realise who was there for us every time we needed them but we just neglected them
It's strange how life occurs
Testing us every second of every hour of every day just for us to realise what's what and who's who
But we just dont do what life asks for
We oppose it
And lose sight of what really matters
It's funny how what you do to some one will come back and bite you in the butt when you least expect
So you can have a taste of your own medication
Live and let live
Enjoy life to the fullest
Treasure everyone who comes into your life
The fack ones will disaspear when you are in need the most
Life sure is funny how it operates......

Run With The Pack
You never give me my money
you only give me your sympathy
cause I keep on running
there Is no way to catch up with me
I'm leaving you
don't make no fuss
you want even see me oh no for dust
I'm running with the pack, running with the pack
I'm running with the pack, never looking back
you try to keep me In cages
but baby you got to catch me first
you think your law Is contagious
I'll do my best you can do your worst
I'm leaving you
now who can I trust
you want even see me oh no for dust
I'm running with the pack, running with the pack
I'm running with the pack, never looking back
I'm running with the pack, running with the pack
I'm running with the pack, never looking back
I'm running with the pack, running with the pack
I'm running with the pack, never looking back
you can hold me now......
On my own way, running with the pack
never never looking back
keep on running, keep on running
movin on, movin on

Introductory Verses
Oh, you who read some song that I have sung –
What know you of the soul from whence it sprung?
Dost dream the poet ever speaks aloud
His secret thought unto the listening crowd?
Go take the murmuring sea-shell from the shore-
You have its shape, its colour – and no more.
It tells not one of those vast mysteries
That lie beneath the surface of the seas.
Our songs are shells, cast out by waves of thought;
Here, take them at your pleasure; but think not
You’ve seen the beneath the surface of the waves,
Where lie our shipwrecks, and our coral caves.

Sweet Miracle
I wasn't waling on water
I was stadning on a reef
when the tide came in
swept beneath the surface
lost without a trace
no hope at all
no hope at all
Oh - sweet miracle
oh - sweet miracle
Of life
I wasn't walking angles
I was talking to myself
rising up to the surface
raging against the night
starless night
oh - sweet miracle
love's sweet miracle
of life
Oh salvation
Oh salvation
I wasn't praying for magic
I was hading in plain sight
rising up from the surface
to flight into th night

Six Pack Girls
Gonna find some girls tonight
My friday night has washed away
Beer bong has me wandering around
The girls that look like drugs and alcohol
Six pack girls,
Six pack girls
Six pack girls
Six pack
So you pick her up and you bring her home
And you think about it for a while
Wake up the next morning and sure enough
Its not two girls!
Version 2
Go to work, and then go to bed your friday night,
Has washed away your bummed out,
About your work cause youve already put in,
Your thousand hours theyre all
Six pack girls,
Theyre all six pack girls,
Theyre all six pack girls,
Six pack
So you pick her up,
And you bring her home
You take her out,
And thats all youre alone,
And you want it sure
Enough your, stuck with her theyre all
Six pack girls,
Theyre all six pack girls,
Theyre all six pack girls,
Six pack

One sun and one moon
One sun and one moon
Bright sun with hot noon
One moon with dark light
Cool and peaceful silent night
Stars many with vast horizon
Too many secrets under belly not made known
High above ground exist mysterious world
Below the surface too many secrets many fold
On the earth surface exists human race?
Life is to be pursued with lots of chase
Tremendous fight for domination and control
Animals too fight back for loosing battle
Who knows about the real outcome?
Whatever be the case can be only welcome!
Life is everywhere but must be liked
Whoa are we to say” like or disliked”
Accept it as it is ought to be
All are born with liberty and free
It belongs to all and may stay as ever
Make best use of it and think it over
