Comics as art. I do comics as comics, and my opportunity to tell stories. Simple. Basic. Let the characters have the excitement, not the package. That's where I come from.

Laugh Out Loud
Have we lost our sense of humor?
We must laugh on every day.
For without laughter life is dull
Like a stage without a play.
Funny little quips that people say
are the gems that sparkle and shine
Right within a placid soul
that's in need of bright sunshine.
So laugh inside, laugh out loud,
Laugh whenever you can.
And when you think you've laughed too much,
laugh out loud again.

We grew out of the superhero comics, but we still liked comics, so we started putting our own experiences in the stories we were doing for our own amusement.

Comics were going down for the second time and here, all of a sudden, came this thing and for the next fifteen years, romance comics were about the top sellers in the field; they outsold everything.

A nice, easy place for freedom of speech to be eroded is comics, because comics are a natural target whenever an election comes up.

I have this certain vision of the way I want my comics to look; this sort of photographic realism, but with a certain abstraction that comics can give. It's kind of a fine line.

Comics are too big. You can't say any kind or genre of comics is better than another. You can say so subjectively. But to say it like it's objective is wrong. It's wrong morally, because it cuts out stuff that's good.
I quit comics because I got completely sick of it. I was drawing comics all the time and didn't have the time or energy to do anything else. That got to me in the end.

I have worked with a great many comedians as opposed to comics, although I have worked with comics as well, I make the distinction.

My grandfather was a newspaper publisher and his paper had all the comics in NYC, so some of my earliest memories are of reading the family paper and heading straight for the comics insert.

We thought everybody read comics. We didn't know we were weird. We didn't know people that collected comics were strange. It was as normal as listening to rock music on the radio.

The misconception is that standup comics are always on. I don't know any really funny comics that are annoying and constantly trying to be funny all the time.

People stare because I laugh
When there's nothing to laugh about
I know that if I didn't laugh
The tears would all spill out.
You see me when I'm all alone
I cry and scream and shout
I hit the wall and broke my hand
It bled: I laughed out loud.

Sonnet
Comrades of risk and rigour long ago
Who have done battle under honour's name,
Hoped (living or shot down) some meed of fime,
And wooed bright Danger for a thrilling kiss, —
Laugh, oh laugh well, that we have come to this !
Laugh, oh laugh loud, all ye who long ago
Adventure found in gallant company !
Safe in Stagnation, laugh, laugh bitterly.
While on this filthiest backwater of Time's flow
Drift we and rot, till something set us free !
Laugh like old men with senses atrophied,
Heeding no Present, to the Future dead,
Nodding quite foolish by the warm fireside
And seeing no flame, but only in the red
And flickering embers, pictures of the past : —
Life like a cinder fading black at last.

We Want It Loud
Tonight - is a show
And I gotta be there
Banging my head to a metal attack
We got nothing to fear
Dancing and screaming begging our heroes for more
Burning the streets cause we gotta be first thru the door
We want it loud
Theres no other reason we came for
We want it loud
The louder the better we need more
They keep us locked, locked in
For hours and hours we wait in line
You get pushed to the limit
We cant even breath no more
Like a volcano were boiling and ready to blow
Fight all the way got to see this damn rock and roll show
We want it loud
Theres no other reason we came for
We want it loud
The louder the better we need more
We want it loud - we want it loud - we want it loud
Yeah, its gotta be loud
Yeah - we want it loud
Theres no other reason we came for
We want it loud
The louder the better we need more
We want it loud
Theres no other reason we came for
We want it loud
The louder the better we need more
We want it loud - we want it loud - we want it loud
We want it loud - we want it loud - we want it loud
Yeah, its gotta be loud

Loud
Loud songs
loud colours
loud gossip
loud drummers
loud fragrance
loud worship
loud laughters
loud roar
loud snore
loud thunders
sink into the waters of silence
Silence is louder than loudness
Silence is the sister of death
Have you heard the breath of silence
Have you heard the noise of death

Fundamental of Liar Chapter XXII: Laugh
there's laugh, forced laugh
laugh, gentle rejection without word
laugh, looking sympathy with laugh
laugh but actually doesn't laugh
hiding anger, hiding pain
cheerful laugh but alone inside
why you try hard to impress people?
tired and wounded more
laughing your foolish joke
and crying life in the dark room
laugh for yourself
laugh with your heart
and you'll never regret to try an honest laugh

Speak the Words
I had enough words to say that I was sorry
I had enough ways to make it go away
But foolish pride has ruined the path before me
I guess the sun can only shine here once a day
I drowned myself in a wave of lost ambition
I filled your world with my hate and disbelief
I trapped my soul in an awkward disposition
And deep inside I hope that no one sees me
Can you feel the pain I hide
I laugh out loud but cry inside
No one's there to save me from my doubt
Cause I don't dare to speak the words out loud
Try to find me in my sorrow
Time won't take away the truth
Can't change the way that we are changing
I hope that we will finally learn to
Can you feel the pain I hide
I laugh out loud but cry inside
No one's there to save me from my doubt
Cause I'm too scared to speak the words out loud
I walk the dessert all alone
No place to rest my mind
The sun is burning in my soul
