I'm fortunate in that I'm a lecturer too and this gets me out and about and away from the computer. I also have loads of friends all around the world, plus a core group of special people in my life that I can lean on, chat to, or just hang with.

Lonely Days
Woke up this morning early
and switched my computer on.
Messenger came up on the screen
and it showed I was available to chat,
but no one wanted to chat to me.
Several friends were available
and I waited and hoped to see
that one of them might want a chat with me.
Sadly none of them did.
So I sat and played a couple of games
and watched the hours pass slowly away.
Only junk mail came into my inbox,
but no messages from my friends.
It seemed no one wanted to speak to me.
I got on and did some work I had to do
and started to feel forgotten, asking myself
where had all my friends had gone.
Maybe tomorrow or the day after that
someone might remember me and want a chat,
but I am not going to hold my breath on that.
I’ll just have to pick up my pen and write a little more.

What's In It For Me?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE HAVE TIME FOR TWITTER AND FACEBOOK, BUT NONE FOR THEMSELVES OR OTHERS,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE HAVE A HUNDRED 'FRIENDS' ON FACEBOOK,
BUT NOT EVEN TEN IN REAL LIFE
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE EMOTE WITH EMOTICONS BUT NOT WITH THEIR FACES,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE PREFER TO WRITE 'LOL' RATHER THAN ACTUALLY LAUGHING OUT LOUD,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE LOVE THEIR COMPUTER MORE THAN THEIR FRIENDS,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE LIVE THEIR LIVES MORE ONLINE THAN OFF IT,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE CAN SPOT THE ERROR IN SOMEONE'S TYPING BUT CANNOT SPOT A TEAR IN A FRIEND'S EYE,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE CAN GROW ANY CROP ONLINE BUT CANNOT EVEN PICK UP A SPADE IN REAL LIFE,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE RELISH THE FOOD AT MCDONALDS AND DOMINOS, BUT CRIB OVER HOME COOKED FOOD,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE ARE READY TO KILL FOR A FEW SHREDS OF PAPER,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE KILL IN THE NAME OF RELIGION,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE A MAN IS READY TO KILL HIS BROTHER OVER PROPERTY AND MONEY,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE THE VALUE OF MONEY IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF LIFE,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE LIVING A LIFE IS TOUGHER THAN KILLING A LIFE,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE IT'S EASIER TO EARN MONEY BY CHEATING THAN BY WORKING HONESTLY,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE THE VALUE OF A GIFT IS THROUGH ITS PRICE AND NOT ITS EMOTIONS,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE THE MEASURE OF A MAN IS THROUGH HIS CAR AND HOUSE RATHER THAN HIS CHARACTER,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE LOVE THEIR POSSESSIONS MORE THAN THEIR FRIENDS AND PARENTS,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE THINGS ARE LOVED AND PEOPLE ARE USED,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD WHERE PEOPLE DO ANYTHING FOR A BETTER PAY BUT NOTHING FOR A BETTER CONSCIENCE,
EVEN IF I WIN THIS WORLD WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?
THE WORLD IS BAD AND I KNOW THAT BUT SILL IF I WIN THIS WORLD,
WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

A lot of people who were the best in their fields. I was fortunate enough to be friends with Sammy Davis, Jr. - I spent a lot of time with Sammy. I was over at his house almost every night. Those people were very special and very special for me.

Under Pressure'
Back Chat Back Chat
You burn all my energy
Back Chat Back Chat
Critising all you see
Back Chat Back Chat
Analysing what I say
And you always get your way
Oh yeah see what you've done to me
Back Chat Back Chat
You're driving me insane
It's a battle to the end, knock you down you
come again
Talk back, talk back you've got me on the rack
Twisting every word I say
Wind me up and get your way
Fat chance I have of making a romance
If I'm ever to get the last word in
Take it from there
Twisting every word I say
Wind me up and get your way
Back Chat Back Chat
You burn all my energy
Back Chat Back Chat
Critising all you see
Back Chat Back Chat
Analysing what I say
And you always get your way
Wake up stand up and drag yourself on out
Get down get ready
Scream and shout
Back off be cool
And learn to change your ways

Computer and Man
I am great
All men I educate
I am capable
I am Irresistible,
I have a lot of memory
I answer every query
I have loads of power
Around me mankind hover
I solve problems arithmetical
I carry out operations logical
I am very intelligent
From men I'm different
I am a titan
I am super human
Can you guess
Who I am?
Yes! I am the COMPUTER.
The computer, itself thus prides
And on a high horse it rides.
It cannot comprehend
That man has been his friend
And that he had been behind
The work computer had stream-lined
To execute the multitude of commands
Which man had given for his demands.
Man is equal to the computer
When he speculates he is the man of matter.
As is the computer in man's hands
Is he not the man in God's hands?

My Computer
Welcome, uve got mail {aol sample}
(computer) {sample repeats in bg}
It was sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
Chorus:
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Somebody 2 talk 2, funny and bright
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Make believe its a better world, a better life
Nothing on tv I aint seen before
Another murder on the news, I cant take no more
Evil incorporated, blowing up bombs and thangs
I have a child, huh, I have a lot 2 explain
I could write a letter, but who would I send it 2?
It was sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
Chorus
I called an old friend of mine just the other day
No congratulations, no respect paid
All she did was wonder if the rumors were true
I said - no, I aint dead yet, but uh.. what about u?
I can count my friends with a peace sign: 1, 2
It was sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Somebody 2 talk 2, funny and bright (oh)
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Make believe its a better world, a better life (a better life)
I got no mail, my computer
I told them I dont wanna see a doctor unless hes lonely 2
Every sunday night, instead of doing what I usually do i..
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Somebody 2 talk 2, funny and bright
I scan my computer looking 4 a site
Make believe its a better world (make believe its a better world)
A better life {x52}

Special Friends
To all my special friends
and especially to one in particular
who knows who they are.
Everyone has special friends
whether they be girl or boy.
These special friends
always warm our hearts
bringing with them comfort and joy.
They make our lives smile
whenever we talk to them.
They lift our spirits high
all, our special friends.

Have faith in me
Have faith in me,
That nothing will change,
It is true,
All you have to do is believe in you.
I'm always around,
You don't even have to look,
Even if I wasn't there,
All you have to do is think,
And I'll be on you mind.
Have faith in me,
If you don't believe its true,
Just look around,
And you could find me next to you.
I know you could never forget,
All of my attitudes and our experiences,
I know you would never forget,
Everything we did together.
Have faith in me,
With everything I do,
Enjoy who you have as friends,
Because we can't always be with you.
We were friends since we first met,
We would lean on each other for support,
Just believe in yourself,
Then you'll have the power to believe in me too.
Have faith im me,
That we'll remain friends forever,
We always have fun together,
No matter where we plan to go.
We always play around or hang-out,
Now we have more friends than before,
And or days have become more playful,
With more people protecting each other too.

Special People
The world is filled with special people,
who are there when you need them.
They blend into the background,
emerging only when we have troubles in our lives.
They are special people because they are there for us,
no matter how many problems their lives might possess.
They care for others more than they care for themselves.
These special people who touch our lives,
and whom we simply call our friends.

Sacred And Eternal
I am fortunate to be a poet with words periodical
I am fortunate to write poems sacred and eternal.
I am fortunate to see the world in new look
I am fortunate to be in poetic imagination
With evergreen colors sacred and eternal.
I am fortunate to be a part and parcel of the world
That is yours and only yours
And you are for all sacred and eternal.

In the animation world, people who understand pencils and paper usually aren't computer people, and the computer people usually aren't the artistic people, so they always stand on opposite sides of the line.
Panic
Panic on the streets of london
Panic on the streets of birmingham
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again ?
The leeds side-streets that you slip down
I wonder to myself
Hopes may rise on the grasmere
But honey pie, you're not safe here
So you run down
To the safety of the town
But there's panic on the streets of carlisle
Dublin, dundee, humberside
I wonder to myself
Burn down the disco
Hang the blessed dj
Because the music that they constantly play
It says nothing to me about my life
Hang the blessed dj
Because the music they constantly play
On the leeds side-streets that you slip down
Or provincial towns you jog 'round
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Hang the dj, hang the dj
Thankyou ...

Most Special Bond of All
Living in a special place called home
The smallest unit of society known
These are the definitions of family alone
But it is deeper than what is already known
To a group of people, it is a special bond
And they always give each other a helping hand
In a family, true love can always be found
That makes them sturdy as stone when together they stand
In times of troubles when you are alone
And you’re searching for someone to lean on
Do not think of any other option
Except for your kin that’s with you all along
But there’s always a storm after the calm
A lot of trials and challenges still come
That you can defeat and even overcome
If your family will only act as one
So all of us should always remember
That everyone can give love to each other
But a family will be a family forever
Through thick and thin, will always stick together

The Computer Lecturer
The cute computer lecturer clicks
the 'mouse', and to get the 'Okay' flicks.
The mice eat rice and feel glee
and with the cat soon flee.
He showed 'jobs' for their virtues to nick.

Computer Age
Cars and trucks
Fly by me on the corner
But Im all right
Standin proud before the signal
When I see the light
I know Im more than just a number.
And I stand before you
Or else we just dont see the other
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
Bikes and vans
Fly by me on the desert
But Im all right
Standing out here in the hot sun
When I see the light
I feel like more than just a number
And I stand before you
Or else we just dont see the other
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
Precious metal lines
Molded into highways
Running through me
So microscopically
Days and nights
Weeks and months and seasons
Rolling through me
So chronologically.
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
I need you
To let me know that theres a heartbeat
Let it pound and pound
And Ill be flying like a free bird
And you need me
Like ugly needs a mirror
And day by day
This horizons getting clearer
Computer age computer age
Computer age.

After a while your friends stop being your friends, or people you like and hang out with
they just become people you want to see succeed, people you wish well
because you don't know if you'll succeed and you don't know when you'll see them again
most people you hate, you loathe- or you are disinterested towards
your casual acquaintances are the people you end up spending the most time with
and the people that were your close friends become memories
people who have moved on but that you wish well

My Canadian Chronicles 13
In each life, there are special moments
we like to remember and recall.
Moments that have brought us laughter
almost cascading into tears.
Moments of great happiness
to last us through the years.
Moments with very special people
who are dearly beloved friends.
Special moments no one can take away.
They happen but once
and are captured forever within our mind.
Special moments within our lifetime.

Love's perfection
Oh I am so fortunate.
In the past and in the present.
We fell in love, and loved
and it was total
and unexpected
and revelatory
and unique, of course
and consuming
and falling in love with the whole world too
and with life itself
and a compass
and the possibility of a map
and lacked nothing
and was everything.
And it was so perfect
that now
when I see your double around the town
who looks just like you
and was you
there is no need for nostalgia
or regrets
or how-it-might-have-been-if
or even self-congratulation
because it was so complete
and completed.
I am so fortunate.
I would like to think
(for we talk, easily, but never of the past)
that it is the same for you
for that way, completeness is doubled
and something, perhaps
given to the world.
We are so fortunate.
