Theres A Girl In Texas
(trace adkins/vip vipperman)
When I rode out of dallas
Chasing down a dream
I thought I knew what I was looking for
But the neon nights have blinded me
til Im lost in tennessee
Not sure I know who I am anymore... but
Theres a girl in texas
Theres a girl in texas
Theres a girl in texas
That does
Youre a truly lovely lady
And you sure light up the night
Im a lonely man but Im leaving here alone
I wont try to lie to you
About this heart of mine
That I cant give, that I dont really own... cause
Theres a girl in texas
Theres a girl in texas
Theres a girl in texas
That does
If this dream that Ive been chasing
Ever sets me free
And I wake up to find it dont need me
Theres a girl in texas
Theres a girl in texas
Theres a girl in texas
That does
Yes, theres a girl in texas that I still love

Prairie Rose
(ferry/manzanera)
Texas thats where i
Belong
It seems to me
Texas lonesome star
Shine on
The big country
Texas with open skies
And you
For company
Texas oh prairie rose
How happy
I should be
Hey hey you can take it from me
Hey hey ill be coming, youll see
Hey hey oh what a state to be in
Hey hey youre tantalising me
Texas I will compose
In fancy rhyme
Or just plain prose
Texas a song of praise
To you
Prairie rose
Texas though im not sure
I can explain
Your strange allure
Texas prairie rose -
A crown of thorns
A scented flower
Hey hey id better leave right away
Hey hey I can hear you calling me
Prairie rose

Pell Grants
The USA has fallen behind in college graduates in many areas especially the sciences and technology. We need more kids with ability graduating from college and getting master degrees etc. Pell grants allow a young or older person who cannot afford a college education to get one. People pay the loans off by the percentage of wage they make at the time. This democratic benefit to the middle and lower classes would be dropped by Romney/Ryan and the republicans if they are elected.
The implication of this would be college is for the wealthy and the extremely gifted with scholarships or in sports. Is this fair? Is it right for a young person with an IQ of a hundred with rich parents to go to college and another child with an IQ of a 120 with parents that can't afford 20,000 dollars a semester not go? Is this the America that you want? I am not voting for people only but justice, equality and a real America with real opportunity for all not just the rich.

Deep In The Heart Of Texas
The stars at night - are big and bright
Deep in the heart of texas.
The prairie sky - is wide and high
Deep in the heart of texas.
The sage in bloom - is like perfume
Deep in the heart of texas.
Reminds me of - the one I love
Deep in the heart of texas.
The cowboys cry - ki-yip-pie-yi
Deep in the heart of texas.
The rabbits rush - around the brush
Deep in the heart of texas.
The coyotes wail - along the trail
Deep in the heart of texas.
The doggies bawl - and bawl and bawl
Deep in the heart of texas.

Ill Take Texas
When the texas moon is shining down on austin
When it shines across the rio grande
When it comes to makin love
Under the stars above
Well honey Ill take texas everytime
We danced in every ballroom down in beaumont
And we strolled the river walk in san antone
Its where we fell in love
Like to young turtle doves
Well honey Ill take texas everytime
When it comes to makin love
Under the stars above
Honey Ill take texas
Honey Ill take texas
Honey Ill take texas
Honey Ill take texas everytime

I Cant See Texas From Here
I come and go as I please
From down here, up north and in between
But baby its a shame, cause I always feel the same
When I cant see texas from here
I cant see texas from here
No matter how I try, it makes me wanna die
So if you see me looking down, Im trying not to show this frown
cause I cant see texas from here
I cant say I dont like tennessee
The people here have all been good to me
So please dont take offense if I start to gettinõ tense
Its just cause I cant see texas from here
I cant see texas from here
No matter how I try, it makes me wanna die
So if you see me looking down, Im trying not to show this frown
cause I cant see texas from here

If you ask the people who are professional political analysts, they would say that the way redistricting has worked, that the Republicans have something of a lock on the House until a redistricting occurs after 2010, particularly as a result of what DeLay did in Texas.

Texas
There wouldn't be no Alamo,
No Cowboys in the Superbowl:
No "Lonesome Dove", no "Yellow Rose",
If it wasn't for Texas.
I wouldn't be a Willie fan.
Nobody'd swim the Rio Grande.
I wouldn't be an American,
If it wasn't for Texas.
Fort Worth would never cross my mind,
An' there'd be no Austim City limits sign.
No Lonestar of any kind.
If it wasn't for Texas.
Instrumental break.
I'd never've gone to Tennessee,
To sing my songs an' chase my dreams.
Only Heaven knows just where I'd be,
If it wasn't for Texas.
Fort Worth would never cross my mind.
There'd be no Austin City limits sign.
An' no Lonestar of any kind.
If it wasn't for Texas.
It made me the man I am:
Thank God for my old stompin' ground.
I wouldn't be standin' right here, right now,
If it wasn't for Texas.
If it wasn't for Texas.
If it wasn't for Texas.

I'll Take Texas
=========================================================================
There's no reason I should go
When I really want to stay
There's no place that I know
I'd go to anyway
If you ask me, I'll take Texas any day
There's folks who travel 'round
Ain't no place they will stay
And they never can be found
Anywhere but on their way
But you can find me here in Texas any day
There's everything and more than you could hope to find
From the sandy beaches to the mountains and the pines
My mind's got room to wander
But my heart will never stray
And you can find me here in Texas any day
There's no reason I should go
And you really ought to stay
By now you've got to know
There's only one thing I could say
If you ask me, I'll take Texas any day
There's everything and more than you could hope to find
There's miles of smilin' faces, all just one of a kind
My mind's got room to wander
But my heart will never stray
And you can find me here in Texas
I'll be right here in Texas
If you ask me, I'll take Texas any day

Shouldn't We Be More Republic?
Why is the fight...
For democracy
A vision to be enforced by republicans,
Who have long divorced themselves
From the needs of common people?
They are not democrats at all!
But yet they do not hesitate or stall...
To label them librals!
This they will not confess...
Even complex them in distress!
Shouldn't we all be 'republicans'?
Fighting these endless battles?
Shouldn't we all be 'republicates'
With these issues to harnest and saddle?
'I pledge alligence to the...
...and to the 'republic' for which it stands,
One nation under God,
Seems to have slipped from sliding hands! '
There is something very republic about it...
That markets a democracy it misunderstands!
Democratic they may be...
For poster displays plastered in inner cities!
But 'republicans' true they say they are...
And democracy is pursued!
But none is used by far!
For purpose and content...
Their views aren't worth the trash in cans!
If it is true they move as republicans...
Why is democracy costing lives,
By actions 'republicans' command?
'Repeat that pledge again!
This time in its entirety.'
