Playing music is the best thing in the world. It makes show business almost bearable.

All Is Fool's Paradise Here!
Life is journey in
fools paradise,
Some may identify and look up,
while most of us busy in playing,
these withdraw to solitude,
Search and gain ground!
Men here enjoy with pebbles and shells,
find a mare's nest,
Than leave no stone upturned,
Adventurous only
hold the field,
And reach top!
Rather than hold water, most escape,
Only few take the test,
And win time tested Truths!
We have men of business here,
some have their own business,
some have laziness,
Indifference makes lot of difference!
Danger of slipping into hell is more,
Walking along the path of life,
Keeping an on world and another on heaven,
But it may be a hard thing to achieve,
Nothing is impossible to
men of courage and talent!
Look how short lived our happiness is,
However strong and comfortable may be,
This world is momentary,
we are in illusions,
Allusion will show nothing is real,
Sustainable things
not found here!

So, when you divide the world into music lovers, music fans and then those people who are just very casual about their music, it's wallpaper to them, it's elevator music, it's just the thing that's playing in the background that helps them through their day.

Music For Your Soul
Music; Her caress.
Makes me feel comforted.
Music; Her love.
Makes me feel wanted.
Music; Her kiss.
Makes me feel stronger.
Music; Her drug.
Makes me feel further from life.
Music; Her own brand of alcohol.
Makes me feel drowned in comfort.
Music; Her gun.
Makes me feel my thoughts blasted out of my head.
Music; Her pain.
Makes me feel what others feel.
Music; Her ice cold.
Makes me feel as lonely as space.
Music; Her heat.
Makes me feel impassioned.
Music; Our connection.
Makes us feel as one.

Mind Your Own Business
Mind Your Own Business
(Words and music by Hank Williams, Sr.)
If the wife and I was fussin', brother that's our right
Me and that ole woman bought a license to fight
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If youmind your own business, you won't be mindin' mine.
Well, the woman on the party line's a nosey thing
She picks up her receiver when she knows it's my ring
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If you mind your own business, you won't be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental with ad libs ---
Well, I got a little girl that wears her hair up high
The boys all hollar when she walks by
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Just mind your own business, you wont be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental with ad libs ---
I may tell a lot of stories that may not be true
But I can get to Heaven just as easy as you
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, will you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Mind your business, and you won't be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental with ad libs ---
Now, If I want to honky tonk 'til around two or three
Darlin' that's my headache, don't you worry 'bout me.
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Go on and mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If you're mindin' your business, you won't be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental---
Mindin' other people's business seems to be high-toned
Well, I got all that I can do just to mind my own
Mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If you mind your businessmyou won't be mindin' mine.
Dear Lord, If you mind your business, you'll be busy all the time...

People Everywhere: Social Music (Original 11 03 2009)
PEOPLE EVERYWHERE: SOCIAL MUSIC
Original 11 03 3009
People everywhere over here over there people
In poor bread lines people in pony drawn carriages
People on a chariot with a rumble seat people on a
Climb on a mountain steep people on a dime on a
Corner on Wall Street –street people -people everywhere
Everywhere there’s a drummer. Where you going?
Everywhere you go you go with a beat you go with
Where the music is… where the music is “social man
What’s jazz? ” People everywhere just social that’s all
New Orleans people social all the way up river to
Kansas City on up to Chicago don’t make no difference
If your name is Santiago Obama Bergson Rothschild
Bush just social People -Montrose New York City
People social all the way to Rio Paris Johannesburg
Brazil Belize over all the bridges –London Suez
Toronto Montreal people in a dim café -social
People in church every weekday and everyday
Everywhere there’s a temple play -Joe’s Place
People social man -music social don’t make no
Difference where you get together whoever is playing
Just playing so you keep on playing with everybody
Playing -people play social music man –man or
Woman don’t understand just don’t stop playing
People everywhere want to be there to see it -up here
You playing social music -understand -just don’t
Stop playing -people everywhere get hungry lose
Patience -people everywhere not playing social music
When you stop playing social music people every-
Where stop –trying to figure out why everybody
Stop playing social music -nothing social about
Playing a whole lot of music -nothing truly social
In a lot of music -the next thing you know a short
Spell and before long you got wars breaking out
Stop playing and its hell -that’s not social any more.

I think the world is very much embracing this whole concept of musicians going out and playing their instruments and playing music for music as opposed to music that has something to do with some form of image or imagery.

What is so refreshing playing with Neil Finn and all his friends is these people think exactly the same - regular people doing their thing and separating the music from the business.

The Things That Make Me Happy
When I see the Sun
The sun up in the sky
And when the rays they
They glisten off your eyes
And when your eyes
Yeah when your eyes meet mine
That’s the thing that
That’s the thing that makes me
Yeah that’s the thing that makes me happy
And when I wake up to
To a brand new day
When we back our bags and
We take off on our way
And when we lose track
When we lose track of time
That’s the thing that
That’s the thing that makes me
Yeah that’s the thing that makes me happy
And when the clock
Yeah when the clock strikes 5
I’m heading home to you
And I’m feeling so alive
And when I pull in
Yeah when I pull into your drive
That’s the thing that
That’s the thing that makes me
Yeah that’s the thing that me happy
And in the afternoon
When were feeling the warm breeze
And we can see it
Go brushing through the trees
It makes me feel so
It makes me feel so fancy free
And that’s the thing that
That’s the thing that makes me
Yeah that’s the thing that makes me happy
And when the music
Goes rolling through my mind
Songs that could bring
Eyesight to the blind
And when we sing
We sing along with all the words we find
That’s the thing that
That’s the thing that makes me
Yeah that’s the thing that makes me happy

I enjoy playing the band as the band. I 'be' the whole band and I'm playing the drums, I'm playing the guitar, I'm playing the saxophone. To me, the most wonderful thing about playing music is that.

Nowhere At All
Hey, if you're moving too fast
Don't you want this thing last
But if you start moving slow
Hey, pretty mama, you just will have to go
Because
It's nobody's business but my own
It's nobody's business but my own
No, no, no, no, ... no
No, no, no, no, ... no
But if you start acting mean
Then I'll have to mess up the scene
But if you start treating me nice
Hey now baby, I'm gonna have to raise your price
Because it's nobody's business but my own
No, no, no, no, ... no
No, no, no, no, ... no
Nobody's business, nobody's business
Come on now
It ain't nobody's business, nobody business
No, no, no no, nobody's business, no, no, ...
It ain't nobody's business, yeah, but my own
nobody's business, but my own, no, no, no, ...
nobody's business ...

I Gotta Have A Song
Got no place to be
No ones needing me
My girl just said were through
Love was here to stay
Only yesterday
Today my world is blue
So show me to where theres music
Show me to where theres music
With music I just might go on.
I gotta have a song
To go it alone.
A happy happy song
Had a happy home
Now its turned to stone
Kitchens cold and bare
Shed cook all day for me
I still hurry home to see
But I know that shes not there
So show me to where theres music
Show me to where theres music
With music I just might go on.
I gotta have a song
To go it alone.
A happy happy song
Show me to where theres music
Show me to where theres music
With music, I just cant go wrong..
I gotta have a song.
To go it alone
A happy happy song..
(Repeat)

I think I've always had a sort of fantasy or dream that I would like to make a living playing music. It seemed to be the most noble thing I could imagine. I had no idea how it was done, how you actually break into that sphere, but I always had this belief that music, no matter who you were playing to, was always going to be nourishing to me.
Lost In The Music
the music you write
makes my mind soar
the music you write
makes me want to dance
the music you write
is like a lullaby
the music you write
makes my heart jump
the music you write
makes me want to hear it again
the music you write
is like a shooting star
the music you write
makes me fall in love with you
the music you write
is like a shower in a drought
the music you write
is like a dream that i don't want to wake up from
i get lost in the music you write

Music Is Endless
Music is life
Music is colorful
Music is passion
Music is soothing.
Music makes one romantic
Music evades loneliness
Music makes to forget worries
Music gives hope.
Music can take you ages back
Music can tell you stories
Music can control emotions
Music is always endless….

That's one of the problems with making music your business, it becomes a business. You're no longer just this kid who is a fan and going to see every show. I've been in a bar every night for the last 15 years. Going to see bands for me is work.

We're an interesting species. An interesting mix. We're capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. We feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only we're not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we've found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other.

Oh Yeah
(ferry)
Some expression in your eyes
Overtook me by surprise
Where was i how was i to know?
How can we drive to a movie show
When the music is here in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing oh yeah on the radio
And so came to be our song
And so on through all summer long
Day and night drifting into love
Driving you home from a movie show
So in tune to the sounds in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing oh yeah on the radio
Its some time since we said goodbye
And now we lead our separate lives
But where am i where can i go?
Driving alone to a movie show
So i turn to the sounds in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
Theres a band playing on the radio
And its drowning the sound of my tears
Theyre playing oh yeah on the radio
