I've got a Range Rover. It's brilliant actually but it's manual.

Red Rover
Why do you come around?
So very much
You know it just brings you down
Its just something you can touch
You dont belong here
I guess you never did
Whisper look up in your ear
You just keep it so well hid
Anyone at all
Could see what was missin
Could see you were dyin
But no one was cryin
And I did hear what you said
Now I can go home
All my days are blue
All my days are bright
Red rover, red rover, red rover
We come, we come, we come, we come
To take you over
Take you over
Red rover
Take you over
One of the quiet ones
One of the few
Now fall down onto your knees
Show us all what you can do
We came around here
To see if you were well
And theres nothing for you to fear
In heaven or in hell
Anyone at all
Could see what was missin
Could see you were dyin
But no one was cryin
And I did hear what you said
Now time to drive home
All my days are blue
All my days are bright
Red rover, red rover, red rover
We come, we come, we come, we come
To take you over
Take you over
Red rover
Take you over
Red rover
Take you over
Red rover
Take you over

Red Rover, Red Rover
Red Rover, Red Rover, send Missy on over.
I hear the cries on the playground of my childhood, but many years ago my childhood was over.
Red Rover, Red Rover send age to make me older.
I feel with age that wisdom makes me sober.
I hear the orders of youth recalling.
I'm falling and falling into the abyss and stalling.
As I hear the cries of childhood.
Let it be always understood.
Red Rover, Red Rover send death away forever more.
But alas as a line in a song once asked; What is forever for?
I do not know the answer moreover.
So, Red Rover, Red Rover this poem is now over!

One Irish Rover
Tell me the story now
Now that its over
Wrap it in glory
For one irish rover
Tell me you wiser now
Tell me you older
Wrap it in glory
For one irish rover
Bridge:
I can tell by the light in your eye
That youre so far away
Like a ship out on the sea
Without a sail, youve gone astray
Tell me the facts real straight
Dont make me over
Make it come out alright
And wrap it in glory
For one irish rover
For one irish rover
One irish rover
One irish rover

Cleared Path
I don't need a pat or a slap on my back.
Nor do I need to be seen behind the wheel,
Of a spanking brand new Cadillac.
Or a Range Rover.
To show I have overdoesed on ego!
What i want to get from you,
Is a cleared path.
Done fast.

Cuppacumalonga
'Rover, rover, cattle-drover, where go you to-day?'
I go to Cuppacumalomga, fifty miles away;
Over plains where Summer rains have sung a song of glee,
Over hills where laughing rills go seeking for the sea,
I go to Cuppacumalonga, to my brother Bill.
Then come along, ah, come along!
Ah, come to Cuppacumalonga!
Come to Cuppacumalonga Hill!
'Rover, rover, cattle-drover, how do you get there?'
For twenty miles I amble on upon my pony mare,
The walk awhile and talk awhile to country men I know,
Then up to ride a mile beside a team that travels slow,
And last to Cuppacumalonga, riding with a will.
Then come along, ah, come along!
Ah, come to Cuppacumalonga!
Come to Cuppacumalonga Hill!
'Rover, rover, cattle-drover, what do you do then?'
I camp beneath a kurrajong with three good cattle-men;
Then off away at break of day, with strong hands on the reins,
To laugh and sing while mustering the cattle on the plains -
For up to Cuppacumalonga life is jolly still.
Then come along, ah, come along!
Ah, come to Cuppacumalonga!
Come to Cuppacumalonga Hill!
'Rover, rover, cattle-drover, how may I go too?'
I'll saddle up my creamy colt and he shall carry you -
My creamy colt who will not bolt, who does not shy nor kick -
We'll pack the load and take the road and travel very quick.
And if the day brings work or play we'll meet it with a will.
So Hi for Cuppacumalonga!
Come Along, ah, come along!
Ah, come to Cuppacumalonga Hill!

Brilliant Genius, April Fool So Tedious
April Fool So Tedious……,
Brilliant Genius, Brilliant Genius …..,
Through an elite prism he sees us……,
Brilliant Genius, Brilliant Genius …..,
One step short of Jesus…….,
No doubt he doesn’t need us……,
And would never heed us……,
But wants to clothe and feed us……,
Poor bare lawn, he’d even seed us…….,
Just like a lonely, forlorn Venus……,
April Fool So Tedious……,
Brilliant Genius, Brilliant Genius…..! ! !

At Baobab Stop Over
Sun rise at Chikhwawa triangle stop over
Near and under the roof of baobab tree
Tossing and sweeping arms' thirsty rover
Laughing, gaping ashort freedom trip
Fused in the king waiting his assent
But he came and tested the rover
The Mr GPS under hungry lion
The Baobab tree calling to silence
It quenched undernearth and reappeared
That was an exchange the rover story
Stopped it turned to work grave haze
And seriously absorbed the change
That's another move, but at baobab stop over
It cared lives below supper shades!

Its Automatic
(graham russell)
All my life Ive been a manual man
I like the floor all the power in my hand
Driving up and down the road all day
Overtaking anything in the way
Alongside us came a man in a grin
Winding down the window clever again
You know manual is far too old
To keep pace then he left us cold
Its automatic, its automatic
Its automatic, it goes by itself
Quick thinking and a mutual aim
So on finding out the name of the game
A different unit was ordered that day
Who wants to go thru the gears anyway
The same color the same design
The same car with a different mind
Knowing now we wouldnt take second place
Both saying with a smile on our face.

A Knock
Black Rover and Red Rover,
The crystal ball is clear to me;
Then, i suddenly heard a knock at the door!
There she stood like the beauty of the moon,
And the heavens were opened to me and i saw the beauty of her love.
Like the expanse of dazzling crystal,
There is a bright future for me on this love.

Rover Chronicle
The rover leaves his home
Leaving his father with right hand
Leaving his mother with left hand
Leaving his brother with right foot
Leaving his childhood with left foot
He moves forward and release the burden
Put the cushion from his back
Put the robe from his shoulder
Put the wine from his waist
The rover goes and sacrifices all
Sacrifice his fellowship
Sacrifice his lover
Sacrifice his soul
He still moves forward though lost everything
The Gods condemn him
All mothers wail over him
Because the rover keeps moving forward
Leaving tears
Leaving past
Looking for redemption
For everything he left
When he moves forward

Bill And Rover
The old black labrador Rover his muzzle it is gray
And looking at him one would know he has known a better day
His master Bill too looking gray the years on him do show
I often see them in the park they both are walking slow
Old Rover not the dog he was when he was in his prime
His end for him not far away he's running out of time
His sense of scent remains quite keen though his sight is beginning to fail
Yet he remains a friendly dog even at strangers he wags his tail
His master Bill says Rover is thirteen for a dog in years that's getting on
His prime lost in the passing time his better days are long gone
All forms of life as we know well are only born to die
That is a simple fact of life and facts do never lie
Down the gravel path of the Townpark the old dog and the old man
Walk slowly in the evening sun time has stripped them of elan.

The Range War
Yore daddy runs sheep and mah uncle runs cattle
Nothin can keep us out of this battle they wage
As it burns up the range, til no man is left
In the saddle
Yore ranch is upstream and they dammed up the water
Thirsty cows scream for mah uncle to slaughter
The sheep while yore daddys asleep
And I do the same for his daughter
If I had my own way, we would be together
Back in pittsburgh
Its the only town east of the river I know
And I feel kinda bad, bringin our grief
Upon this pore old farmers house
But we aint got nowhere else to go
Three years on this range since they started the range war
Nothing has changed except maybe change for the worst
If Id married you first,
There might not have been any range war
You wouldnt be lost to the range war

Lead Balloon
Kiss my ass! I said
And I threw my drink
Tequila trickling
Down his business suit
Must be the irish blood
Fight before you think
Turn it now
You cant cowtow
You cant undo it
Its his town
And that went down
Like a lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon
He said sic her, rover
That went over
Like a lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead balloon
An angry man is just an angry man
But an angry woman
Bitch!
I had to ask him for a helping hand
It came with the heart
Of a bonaparte
Of a frozen fish
Its his town
And that went down
Like a lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon
He said sic her, rover
That went over
Like a lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead balloon
Lead balloon, lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead balloon, lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead balloon, lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead balloon
Its his town
And that went down
Like a lead balloon
Lead lead lead balloon
He said sic her, rover
That went over
Like a lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon
Lead lead lead lead balloon

One Of These Days (feat. Ozomatli)
Fifi, That ain't a name for this mutt.
So how about Champion?
Champion you're anything but.
We could call him Tiger, But there's no bite in him,
Tiger!Kittens would frighten him.
Rover! When you think it over,
Rover is the perfect name for this dumb look-in' dog.
Sandy, Sandy's his name if you please.
If you don't be-lieve meask anyone of the fleas
Residing on Sandy,
True he ain't pedigreed, Sandy, there ain't no better breed.
And he really comes in handy,
'Specially when you're all alone in the night
and you're small andterribly frightened it's
Sandy, Sandy who'll always be there!

Treat Me Like The Dog I Am
Red rover, red rover
Got a bone but I cant come over
Never broken, never trained
You got me in the doghouse
On this dog chain
You treat me
Like the dog, like the dog I am
You beat me
Like the dog, like the dog I am
Oh master, go faster
Youre my bitch and Im your bastard
At the dog pound make me beg
Got me with my tail between my leg
You treat me
Like the dog, like the dog I am
You shame me
Like the dog, like the dog I am you treat me
Like the dog, like the dog I am
You kick me
Like the dog, like the dog I am
Just beat me, just bite me, just break me
Treat me like a dog
Just blame me, just shame me, then cage me
Treat me like a dog
Cause I need it
And I want it
And I deserve it
Treat me like a dog
Please slap me, please smack me
Crack me, whack me
And attack me

Remix American Wild West
there was a time
in American history
when horse thieves
were shot or hung
robber man who stole
your horse had stolen
your life your livelihood
your means of travel
survival you were left
as good as dead without
your horse in country
where horseback was life
there was a time
in American history
when cattle rustlers
were shot or hung
stealing beef on sly hoof
hot irons changing brands
fast rustled up retribution
justice from a rope hung
there was a time
in American history
when cruel range wars
were fought with guns
settlers driven off farmland
starved their crops ruined
their homes stolen burned
cattle grazed homesteaders
land cattle barons prospered
water rights grazing rights
unfenced unowned range land
farmers ranchers fought wars
frontier justice lynchings
local residents fought
fast gunmen hired bought
no weak law range wars
old west is time dead gone
rustlers free range modern
well executed wars oiled
