In the Spirit of Rumi - 15
To My Beloved I said
O My Beloved,
tell me of Yourself;
I yearn to know
My Beloved said
O my dearest one,
tell me, rather, of yourself;
for only in knowing yourself
and knowing what you do not know
may you know Myself
to My Beloved I said
I breathe; and yet
I was never taught to breathe.
I breathe perfectly;
who taught me then, to breathe?
In the light of the Sun,
I see all that may be seen;
who taught my eyes to see?
who taught the Sun to shine?
With my breath,
with my eyes,
I see love, breathe love in my heart;
who put it there?
Every day, I eat,
every day I need to eat;
every day there is some food;
who makes earth into bread?
Every day I make mistakes,
yet every day I live again;
my children I forgive their mistakes;
who will teach me my mistakes,
who will forgive me my mistakes?
Every day I find my world the greater,
every day my powers are greater;
every day the world’s glory is greater;
who made these boundaries to be boundless?
Every day, I think of death;
every day, I am alive;
every day, I seek the truth;
who joins these three, and who divides?
my Beloved said to me
In your questions, love.
In the answer, love.

Harvard Crimson
Harvard..
crimson with the blood of hundreds of millions of animals
dead in their underground vivisection labs
Harvard crimson, as the US university with the largest endowment,
invested in war, animal and fish flesh, factory farms, killer drugs
Harvard crimson, with the dollars it has stolen from the US poor.
Harvard which lost prion discoverer Stanley Prusiner, who was tired
of the university's animal flesh investments putting his research on
the back burner.
Harvard economists, destabilizers of the Russian economy
Harvard, driving the poor out of their homes, paying $4000 in the 70's
for homes in surrounding neighborhoods
Harvard, way behind Oberlin in ending exclusion of women and African
Americans
***************** ****************
Boston is the vivisection capital of the US, and Harvard receives more
vivisection dollars than any other university.

The galleries are full of critics. They play no ball, they fight no fights. They make no mistakes because they attempt nothing. Down in the arena are the doers. They make mistakes because they try many things. The man who makes no mistakes lacks boldness and the spirit of adventure. He is the one who never tries anything. His is the brake on the wheel of progress. And yet it cannot be truly said he makes no mistakes, because his biggest mistake is the very fact that he tries nothing, does nothing, except criticize those who do things.

Thanks Mom for Everything!
You are my Mother,
My Mentor
My Maker
You taught me how to be nice
To read
To write.
You taught me how to pick up after myself
Believe in myself.
You showed me your mistakes
So I could be a better person.
You taught me to believe in Jesus.
You are my MOM
You are the reason I am here today!
Thank You Mom.

Is It?
Is it perserverance
That makes us strive and achieve success?
Is it guilt
That makes us try again when we give up?
Is it practicality
That makes us learn from our mistakes?
Or is it pigheadedness
When we can't reach success
Or whining
When we feel like giving up
Or carelessness
When we make mistakes we shouldn't have?
~
Is it mercy
That makes a person end the life of a pained and ailing family member?

I won't say there aren't any Harvard graduates who have never asserted a superior attitude. But they have done so to our great embarrassment and in no way represent the Harvard I know.

Think For Yourself
You think you know just what it means
To be alone
You think youve suffered for your cause
Youre wrong
I dont really need to know what makes you tick
Or what you think is right
I dont want to know the reason you believe
Right now youre like the others
Your thoughts are not your own
Try thinking for yourself and act on what you know
Still you try to defend these things
You were taught
Youve got to try to change the way
You learn
Sometimes it feels just like Ive burned
Every single bridge
That I have ever crossed
I always try to learn
From all of these mistakes
Mistakes that I have made
But pride is a worthy adversary
In the struggle for yourself

OK, the wonderful thing about soccer is, a football is a perfectly round object, and it doesn't make mistakes. The player using it makes mistakes. And the more you use it, the less mistakes you make.

The New Way
You're alright, you're alive, you're the number one
They said that you're not ashamed of what you've done
Everyone makes mistakes
Make it up you'll be OK
That's what they tell you
You won't get the special treatment
I don't care what you do or say
Don't let them tell you what you're already thinking
It's a no win situation
Well enough of the old way
It's not working and the rules have already changed
What we need is a new way
There's something else just a little bit better
It's on the way
You're a drag, you're a bore, you're a rainy day
You take offense to almost everything they do or say
Everyone makes mistakes
Make it up you'll be OK

Open Up Your Wallets...
I appreciate the participation,
However...
Why do you find it neccessary,
To interrupt my reading.
'It's not poetry.
It's some form of a narrative.
At least that's what I was taught at Harvard.'
I see.
And were you also taught at Harvard,
To be disrespectful, insidious and a flaming fool?
'That's what I mean...
This delivery is a narrative.'
IF I am stretching my creative expression,
To incorporate the evolution of humanity...
With my interpretations,
By keeping up to date....
WHO are YOU to define that direction,
With attempts to confine it within your limitations?
Haven't you Harvard people done enough already?
'That's offensive!
And what is that suppose to mean? '
I have no idea!
You're the one equipped with the definitions.
And...
I am...
Quite pleased!
You were wonderful.
Ladies and gentleman.
Give this man your applause.
Wasn't he great.
Sir...
Absolutely stunning.
Thank you so much for agreeing to assist,
With my expanding reach to bring this form of expression...
To broaden a field once regarded,
As speech for the elite.
Thank you.
Now...
My next poem will be,
'Open Up Your Wallets...
Pull Out Two Twenties.
Approach the Podium...
And Show Me Your Love.
'That title is rather long.
AND...
I regard that as solicitation.'
Sir...
Come here please.
I have something I need to say,
Only to you.
Listen up.
Within this poem,
You will discover...
There is no need for a duet delivery.
Trust me.
I appreciate your assistance,
When upon request.
I'll slip you a buck.
Now...
Your attention is requested.
And...
Forgive my directive.
But...
Please shut up,
And return to your seat!
Attention everyone.
I am about to recite my last 'piece'.
This is my most endearing,
Heartfelt composition.
I am needing your thorough concentration.
Silence.
Thank you.
And...
~Open up your wallets,
And...
Lift, lift from out of your wallets quick,
Two twenty dollar bills...
And approach the podium with it.
Put them in my hand,
And then leave.
No need for applause...
That alone will please me.~
I thank you all for attending.
You have no idea how appreciative,
You have made me this evening.

Biasin
Biasin, basin, sin, in, as, bin, ban!
Hotel Biasin;
Louis and Louise,
To be in love;
And, were met at the Hotel.
The kiss,
Hot, . cold!
Way in and way out;
Like Harvard man and Harvard woman.
Amazing!
The atmosphere;
Come, welcome!
Efficient, sufficient;
And, with a compromise.

Lessons
Many things have been taught me
by teachers I have had.
But the one who taught me the most
was taught by you, my lad.
Facts and dates and figures
that at one time filled my head
don't have any importance now.
In fact they are mostly dead.
But you, my lad have taught me well
things I never knew.
I don't think I could ever forget them
nor will they ever be through.
They're more than facts or figures
or dates from long ago.
They're all about what makes you happy
and keeps your heart aglow.

A poor Barber's Rabbit
I have only one carrot
And I feed you little portions.
Please do not get misunderstand me
I am going for an interview now
For a barber's position!
If I get a chance to hold the razor firmly
Definitely I cut all the carrots in Judas's illegal farm
And bring you a lorry load in his wheelbarrow!

Paris Went to Hilton, Uhm, Harvard
Paris, Paris you finally made it to Harvard.
Let’s party and you’ll cry if you want to,
50 Cent can be your own personal muse, Urban Poet, a poetic sage,
When he said to you, Paris, “Get the F$$k off of my stage.”
(see observation It’s My Party)
Was it because you found the solution the world’s problems?
Had you discovered how to extract in formation from DNA within seconds?
Had you discovered the link between gravity and the electromagnetic spectrum?
Or had you brokered peace between the Israeli and the Palestinian Nations,
That would end violence?
But you declared “Harvard is Hot”,
Amazing you can put three words together two of which had the same starting letter.
You are a GENIUS!
NOT! ! ! ! !
You are epitome, that means you are the highest, of a joke that Harvard Lampoon honored,
You were dishonored and rightfully so,
I hope you will peel off your blinders to hopefully see,
You are wasting your life and providing fodder for the paparazzi.
Your grandfather wanted nothing to do with you.
Paris when you’re out money, when you had fallen from the top,
Maybe I’ll find your Lampoon Award in a pawn shop.

Path To Happiness
Life gives you many choices,
But it's up to you which path you take,
Good or Bad,
No ones perfect,
Everyone makes mistakes,
But its up to you to move forward and learn from the past.
Yes life is hard and very complicated,
Though God knows we're strong enough to live on this earth.
Me my friend,
I'm different,
One of a kind,
I choose the path most people don't,
I will learn from my mistakes,
As it just makes me stronger,
Believe no matter what happens,
Stay strong, Don't give in,
And I will see you on my path to Happiness...
