It's so much fun that the money is just icing on the cake. There seems to be a lot of icing.

Fantasy: Seven Baby Dragonlets, Cake-and-Icing
Woke up this morning in pizza-pain, combating
it by reading how the dragon Alberic came to
stay with kids who were sad when he left, he
came back with seven baby dragonlets, leaving
one behind to take his place, thus the friendship
chain would go on - the pizza forgotten, I got up
with a feeling of bright expectation – all thanks
to Alberic – I took him along to the shops
staring in delight at chocolate cake with thick
chocolate icing, you said no, pizza’s enough, I said
if I had only three months to live, I’d go on a cake-
with-icing diet, never touching broccoli and spinach
again, I’d eat all the cake and icing I could find,
chocolate, vanilla, mocca, granadilla, with the
icing spread as thick as can be- that’s when
Alberic left me, he couldn’t stand the idea
of so many scrumptious cakes without tasting
some himself, off he went, hunting for cake;
I sought comfort in the tabloids, read with
dismay Britney had a horrible youth, Cat Woman
had been operated upon once too much - deeply
affected, I went to Alberic in a land of magic
where flying dragons love their dragonlets –
then send them forth to befriend
lonely humans…

We have always said that advertising is just the icing on the cake. It is not the cake.

If you look over the years, the styles have changed - the clothes, the hair, the production, the approach to the songs. The icing to the cake has changed flavors. But if you really look at the cake itself, it's really the same.

If the theory turns out to be right, that will be tremendously thick and tasty icing on the cake.

Chocolate Cake
I love chocolate cake.
And when I was a boy
I loved it even more.
Sometimes we used to have it for tea
and Mum used to say,
'If there's any left over
you can have it to take to school
tomorrow to have at playtime.'
And the next day I would take it to school
wrapped up in tin foil
open it up at playtime
and sit in the corner of the playground
eating it,
you know how the icing on top
is all shiny and it cracks as you
bite into it,
and there's that other kind of icing in
the middle
and it sticks to your hands and you
can lick your fingers
and lick your lips
oh it's lovely.
yeah.
Anyway,
once we had this chocolate cake for tea
and later I went to bed
but while I was in bed
I found myself waking up
licking my lips
and smiling.
I woke up proper.
'The chocolate cake.'
It was the first thing
1 thought of.
I could almost see it
so I thought,
what if I go downstairs
and have a little nibble, yeah?
It was all dark
everyone was in bed
so it must have been really late
but I got out of bed,
crept out of the door
there's always a creaky floorboard, isn't there?
Past Mum and Dad's room,
careful not to tread on bits of broken toys
or bits of Lego
you know what it's like treading on Lego
with your bare feet,
yowwww
shhhhhhh
downstairs
into the kitchen
open the cupboard
and there it is
all shining.
So I take it out of the cupboard
put it on the table
and I see that
there's a few crumbs lying about on the plate,
so I lick my finger and run my finger all over the crumbs
scooping them up
and put them into my mouth.
oooooooommmmmmmmm
nice.
Then
I look again
and on one side where it's been cut,
it's all crumbly.
So I take a knife
I think I'll just tidy that up a bit,
cut off the crumbly bits
scoop them all up
and into the mouth
oooooommm mmmm
nice.
Look at the cake again.
That looks a bit funny now,
one side doesn't match the other
I'll just even it up a bit, eh?
Take the knife
and slice.
This time the knife makes a little cracky noise
as it goes through that hard icing on top.
A whole slice this time,
into the mouth.
Oh the icing on top
and the icing in the middle
ohhhhhh oooo mmmmmm.
But now
I can't stop myself
Knife -
1 just take any old slice at it
and I've got this great big chunk
and I'm cramming it in
what a greedy pig
but it's so nice,
and there's another
and another and I'm squealing and I'm smacking my lips
and I'm stuffing myself with it
and
before I know
I've eaten the lot.
The whole lot.
I look at the plate.
It's all gone.
Oh no
they're bound to notice, aren't they,
a whole chocolate cake doesn't just disappear
does it?
What shall 1 do?
I know. I'll wash the plate up,
and the knife
and put them away and maybe no one
will notice, eh?
So I do that
and creep creep creep
back to bed
into bed
doze off
licking my lips
with a lovely feeling in my belly.
Mmmmrnmmmmm.
In the morning I get up,
downstairs,
have breakfast,
Mum's saying,
'Have you got your dinner money?'
and I say,
'Yes.'
'And don't forget to take some chocolate cake with you.'
I stopped breathing.
'What's the matter,' she says,
'you normally jump at chocolate cake?'
I'm still not breathing,
and she's looking at me very closely now.
She's looking at me just below my mouth.
'What's that?' she says.
'What's what?' I say.
'What's that there?'
'Where?'
'There,' she says, pointing at my chin.
'I don't know,' I say.
'It looks like chocolate,' she says.
'It's not chocolate is it?'
No answer.
'Is it?'
'I don't know.'
She goes to the cupboard
looks in, up, top, middle, bottom,
turns back to me.
'It's gone.
It's gone.
You haven't eaten it, have you?'
'I don't know.'
'You don't know. You don't know if you've eaten a whole
chocolate cake or not?
When? When did you eat it?'
So I told her,
and she said
well what could she say?
'That's the last time I give you any cake to take
to school.
Now go. Get out
no wait
not before you've washed your dirty sticky face.'
I went upstairs
looked in the mirror
and there it was,
just below my mouth,
a chocolate smudge.
The give-away.
Maybe she'll forget about it by next week.

At The Core Of My Being
a cake with white
icing, some sugar
red roses and
confectioner leaves
of green around
the chocolate cake
layer upon layer
to give an impression
of fullness and
solidity,
at the core is the
softness of air bubbles
trapped within,
something is empty
so soft, something like
a void unaffected still
by heat and time.
that is what i am
and i love it.

Tea
Just in time for tea,
Icing cake and strawberry.
A heavenly repast,
Eating slow, not fast.
One piece is not enough,
I know it's bad, it's tough.
Resistance is futile,
Go run a mile.
If You Love Me
YOU DO not have to say
love, you must show love,
through actions
words are nothing but
icing on the cake.

Never Shattered
Sprinkles on cake
Mixed up and shaken
Leaving their cartons
Yokes will be taken
Batter is ready
Icing in line
Funny, though broken
The eggs are just fine

I guess I feel that I was following my instincts, and at the same time being guided by the best. I became totally intrigued with Louisiana - the people, the food. It is a part of my life. Everything that has happened for me since moving here has just been icing on the cake.

Only The Best For You, Gina!
Lovely Gina ate cake with some icing
I was there, just to help with the slicing.
Took my eyes off the cake
which was one big mistake.
Well I found lovely Gina enticing.
So the slice was the shape of the Moon
and she called me a greedy buffoon.
So we ate it together
still discussing then whether
we ought to obtain a large spoon.
Full of cake lovely Gina got up
filled with Burgundy one coffee cup.
Then we washed down the cake
and went down to the lake
where I called her my burgundy pup.
So you see, when old geesers start dreaming
and imagining, lusting and scheming
it should not be alluded
or even included
in a limerick that may be redeeming.
Have a Happy and Many Returns!
As the world, that big volleyball turns,
you are one lovely lass
with a beautiful a**
can I meet you at night, in the Ferns?

It's just nice to work hard and be rewarded, which is having lots of people watch. And the icing on the cake is for me is to be able to walk around with pride, feeling that the product you put out is worthy of being watched. But honestly, it's not a big deal. I don't put too much stock in fame or celebrity anyway. I don't put it in the 'important' box.

The Ogre [2]
I had bought two-dozen eggs,
some baking soda, baking meal
along with the other groceries,
beef, chicken, lamb,
vegetables and fruit
and had forgotten
to buy icing sugar
on your command.
I carried the groceries
from the car
and placed them
in the pantry, the fridge,
or where ever they belonged.
You were baking cake
and preparing some cookies
and like a blizzard
went through the shopping bags
searching for items.
Demented, for me forgetting
icing sugar, the ogre
awakened in you
and I saw it peering
through your eyes.
First a glass mixing bowl
went flying to the ground
shattering into pieces of glass
and in shock fascination
I watch you
put a plastic bowl
on a red hot stove plate
before slamming it
right into my face.
I screamed in terror
and tried to wipe
sizzling molten plastic
from my forehead
and cheeks,
(thanking God you missed
my eyes) .
You screamed something
smashing the eggs on the floor
and then somehow
the ogre went back
to the cave
where it was hiding in you
and I knew
what the word maniac
in manic bipolar depression meant.

No Right
To those who doubt me.
Do not doubt because of misguided light that has been shed but instead realize I'm not finished and never will this conquest with words.
With an alphabet soup spinning.
I do not stand, I do not sit, waiting for your approval.
You could applaud, but what is it you are applauding too?
You could sling foul words, but who is it you think you are cursing?
In the end it is I who sits in silence, with the echoing of water facet dripping.
Leaky damn thing some would say but not me.
Yes it needs fixed, but so much needs fixed in this money pit in which I live.
You think someday this will change?
Someday I will grab at life with a silver spoon?
Please forgive me if I laugh at you, you've surely mistaken in your very provocative statements.
I can't believe the things you have insinuated.
Got love the power of suggestion, it does leave quite an impression.
But with out an ounce of proof it is nothing more then icing on a very nice cake while the cake is home made everything else is so fake.
So you think an ivy league education gives you the power to say how another person should or should not feel.
Prejudice by under a assumed name is all the same.
And you have no right.

Home Is Where The Heart Is
You are the icing on my cake...
The thrill of them all...
My prince charming in Gold-
The King of My Ball;
So dashing-so dashing-
So suave-so debonair-
You are my everything-
My knight-so fair;
You are an answer to my dreams-
A gift surely sent from above-
A treasure to forever hold-
A man for me to love;
You make me complete-
You have filled my alone-
Together we are now one-
Your heart is my home;

That Naked Birthday Cake
the best hour to think
is this
3 o'clock
when it is still dark
when finally dusk breaks
the famed virginity of
a morning
light
it is the perfect
time when your mind
is like glass
with frost
and you write your pains in bold letters
using your index finger
no one reads it
and then the mist outside
as it is still very cold
covers all the letters again
the way you like
the icing so sweet that your dear mother
once put
on your naked birthday cake

You're The Good Things
you were right im hangin round because
light and sound wont seperate us from them
you were right im underground becuase
slight of hand can't seperate your body from the dirt your standing on today
you're the good things yeah thats you.....
you're the icing on the cake on the table at my wake
you're the flowers in my house when my allergies come out
you're the extra ton of cash on my sinking life raft
you're the loud sound of fun when im trying to sleep

Christmas Alphabet
C is for the candy trimmed around the christmas tree,
H is for the happiness with all the family,
R is for the reindeer prancing by the window pane,
I is for the icing on the cake as sweet as sugar cane,
S is for the stocking hanging on the chimney wall,
T is for the toys beneath the tree so tall,
M is for the misletoe where everyone is kissed,
A is for the angels who make up the christmas list,
S is for the santa who makes every kid his pet,
Be good and hell bring you everything in your christmas alphabet!
Capital c is for the candy trimmed around the christmas tree,
H is for the happiness with all the family,
R is for the reindeer prancing by the window pane,
I is for the icing on the cake as sweet as sugar cane,
S is for the stocking hanging on the chimney wall,
T is for the toys beneath the tree so tall,
M is for the misletoe where everyone is kissed,
A is for the angels who make up the christmas list,
S is for the santa who makes every kid his pet,
Be good and hell bring you everything in your christmas alphabet!
