I'm at a point where I don't have to wait for the income from the record to survive, so I'm in a comfortable zone, but I'll make rap records as long as I feel I have something to rap about.

Blackheart Records being 25 years old represents staying power and the fact that we weren't able to get a record out through conventional means, so we had to create this record company to put out our records if we wanted to be a band that had records to give out to their fans.
Danger Zone
Shaking off the tresholds of a long forgotten dream
And you just can't make it last
Coaching paradise on a personal line
But you get fired to fast
And you lie, memories drifting by
Love don't make it on those pin-striped nights
When you're looking through someone's disguise
You can't make it alone, so you gotta make a move
But you're looking at nobody's eyes
Well that's love, or maybe love come and go
Looking for love is a danger zone
Love don't go begging in the danger zone
You won't get nothing from the danger zone
Tales that you tell from the stories that you'll hear
And you'll get what you can while you may
Don't understand when you're looking for a dame
But it's only a heartbreak away
And you'll learn, faking has no return
No way when you're feeling that way
Will your feet get caught up in the crowd
And the song that you sing is too soft to be heard
But your speakers are way too loud
Like the pain, loving is no big game
Looking for love is a danger zone
No don't go living in the danger zone
You won't get nothing from the danger zone
Don't take no chances in the danger zone
Love don't go begging in the danger zone
No don't go living in the danger zone
You won't get nothing from the danger zone
Don't take no chances in the danger zone
Love don't go begging in the danger zone

We made records to document ourselves, not to sell a lot of records. I still feel that way. I put out a record because I think it's beautiful, not necessarily commercial.
I've been around for such a long time. My first hit record was over 20 years ago and the people who bought my records then are married now and they probably still play these records and their children like them.

Are u conducting a talent search?
Yes, thats true
We are conducting a worldwide talent search
What are u looking 4?
What are we looking 4?
Yes
Well, first and foremost, u have 2 get free
Free?
U know, when it comes time 2 download your work into your fans computers
U cant have any other contractual obligations
Ahh
Second of all, u have 2 get smart
Wait a minute
The more substantial your education, the more substantial your income in
The new city
Really?
And thirdly and above all
What?
In the face of all adversity, u must be able 2 ...

Danger Zone
Midnight, something dont feel right
Its been too much, too far away from home
Hard life, living the hard life
I cant resist, Im falling
To the danger zone
All day long Im pushed and shoved
I just cant get enough
In the danger zone
Red light, dont stop for no red light
You know Im always trouble on my own
Lonely, ever so lonely
Ive got too much time
Im heading for the danger zone
All day long Im pushed and shoved
I just cant get enough
In the danger zone
Im eager, eager to please
I cant stand no more
Its got me on my knees
Aint gonna feel no hurt
Aint gonna feel no pain
I got nothin left to lose
I aint got no shame
Dont try to stop me
Just leave me on my own
Im gonna live or die
In the danger zone
Im living in the danger zone
In the danger zone
Hard life, Im living the hard life
Im gonna take a chance
In the danger zone
Lonely, ever so lonely
Im gonna live or die
In the danger zone4
Midnight, cant wait until midnight
Help e Im falling to the danger zone

The Comfort Zone
Where do we go
When theres a need to be loved
Like you need to be loved
Oh, Ill let you know
Just what to do and where to go
Hey welcome to the comfort zone
When you need to be loved like you need to be loved
Welcome to the comfort zone
Do whatever feels right and turns you on
After a hard days work
Theres one thing to be certain of
This ol familiar love
Its not unusual to find that its sensual
Its all you need to let go
Theres no need to try
Or compromise
Or settle for another outside of my love
The thing to do
When you get through
Heed the message seek the comfort of my zone
Hey welcome to the comfort zone
When you need to be loved like you need to be loved
Welcome to the comfort zone
Do whatever feels right and turns you on
Hey let me make you comfortable
Let me take control
And give your mind a break from the day you made
Lets turn the lights down low
And oh the rest you know
Ill be here for you
cause you just stepped into the comfort zone

Our Survival
We shall survive distance.
We shall survive space.
But can we survive the loneliness
that we have to face?
We shall survive winter.
We shall survive spring.
But can we survive the guilt
of the wedding ring?
We shall survive long nights.
We shall survive days.
But can we survive the longings
that always and forever stays?
We shall survive suspicion.
We shall survive fear.
But can we survive living
without each other, dear?
We shall survive all of this
if we put our love first.
We shall survive hunger.
We shall survive thirst
only if this love is true.

When it all started, record companies - and there were many of them, and this was a good thing - were run by people who loved records, people like Ahmet Ertegun, who ran Atlantic Records, who were record collectors. They got in it because they loved music.

I think some people record songs and make records a certain way to cater to radio. If you're born to make commercial music that's cool. But if you're born to not make commercial records, maybe you're meant to cater to another market.

Approve With Each Nibble As You Taste It
Never try to justify,
The kind of life...
You like!
Feel comfortable and live it.
Never try to justify,
The kind of life...
You like!
Feel comfortable and live it.
What you choose for you and do,
Feel comfortable and live it.
No one but you can be you but you.
And make that choice to do what you choose.
With a taking of a bite out of life to taste.
Savoring it and enjoying this too!
Never try to justify,
The kind of life...
You like!
Feel comfortable and live it.
Never try to justify,
The kind of life...
You like!
Feel comfortable and live it.
What you choose for you to do,
Feel comfortable and live it.
No one but you can truly approve...
With each nibble as you taste it,
Without limits.

Danger Zone
New York is a real cool town
society really brings me down
our playground is a pharmacy
kids find trouble so easily
other countries are just as bad
the Soviets really make me mad
on the boulevard where the police hide
let's steal a car for a joyride
they say you're just an awkward kid
you flipped your lid you flipped your lid
you love wine like they love cash
feel your rage spread like a rash
you flipped your lid you flipped your lid
you flipped your lid you flipped your lid
they say you're just an awkward kid
you flipped your lid you flipped your lid
all alone in the danger zone

all alone in the danger zone

Here We Go Again
[fresh prince]
Loyal fans and newfound followers
Whassup yall? hello how are you doin out there?
Youre chillin, Im winnin
Oh, by the way, the albums out, go get it
We went to the studio and then we made a video
We didnt make a movie though, maybe the next year or so
Yo, I got a message for my fans and friends
The last album was dope yall, and here we go again!
No applause, no applause, thank you, thank you
Were back again, and were plannin on rockin you
Ten times harder than any other crew can
Jeff is like conan, Im like tarzan
In other words, wherever we go
Hahah! were runnin the show, but no
Seriously, its been a while since we dropped one
But its out now, go buy the album
If you bought the last one you know it was krush
But if you didnt man, you must not
Know what youre missin friend
The last album was dope yall, and here we go again!
A lot of people may not have bought the last album
Yo jeff, straight up, we cant allow them
To go out like that, our music is too def
We produce hit records right and left
Daytime, nighttime, def beat, def rhyme
Chorus line, bass drum, snare drum, bassline
All of this makes our records rock til the partys end..
.. here we go again!
When we first came out, we had a smash hit song
Then people started askin, whats takin so long
For yall to put another record out for the airwaves?
I said, hold up - let me explain.
When you hear a record on your radio station
Its probably getting played all throughout the nation
But we got lucky, ours was played in germany
France, japan, sweden london italy
So therefore, we had to go on tour
City after city, encore encore, bravo bravo!
Sorry we gotta go
We got another show tomorrow night in rio
The point Im tryin to make is to let you all know
It takes a long time to travel the globe
But now we gotta start this whole process all over again
The last album was def, and here we go again!
Special thanks, to everyone that helped us
Without you, we would not have been able to sell
As many records, we went top ten
And got real and well do it again
It was a long hard road, believe me
People tryin to steal from me, and deceive me
But thats cool, you live and learn my friends
We did it before, and well do it agaim

Shed dance with dan till two or three
If old dan could see he now
I know hed shout out loud
Dig out old dans records
Bring out old dans records

Well dance all night to the seventy-eights
If old dan could see us now
I know hed be so proud
If old dan were with us still
I know hed come around
Get out old dans records
Dig out old dans records
Back to nineteen thirty-five
The foxtrot, jitterbug n jive
If old dan could see us now
I know hed be so proud
Get out old dans records
Bring out old dans records
High above the fireplace
Theres a smile on old dans face
If old dan could see us now
I know hed be so proud
If old dan were with us still
I know hed come around

Survival Shake
This is no story its the key of existence
A little thing you better not forget
I dont know nothing bout its a water-resistance
Why dont you use your head
And survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
Survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
So tell me darling what you wanna be
A welcome idiot in an appletree
I shake you up and I shake you down
Down to the ground
To survive, survive, survive
You got to survive
Survive, survive
All you got to do is to survive
You just got one life
All you got to do is to survive
You just got one life
So better be careful boy
Survive, survive, survive...
