The U.S. Olympic spirit award is an award that is given to an athlete who embodies the Olympic spirit in more ways than just on the playing field, in showing incredible perseverance, in overcoming obstacles, and what we wanted to do is have everybody can vote on-line.

I didn't train to make the Olympic team until 1968. I simply trained for the moment. I never even imagined I would be an Olympic athlete. It always seemed to evolve.

Olympic Platinum
If I could reach to the sky and touch it for my country
Get some on my finger and take in its smell
The smell of victory land of the free Olympic dream
My Olympic dream
My promotion scheme
How hard can it be
How high can I jump
How high can I throw
How high can I run
How high can I hold my breath and stay underwater
and wave my legs around in perfect unison with my partner who really doesn't understand me
For my Olympic dream
I'll be like Dwight Stone
I'll be like Bruce Jenner
I'll be like that girl who trained all her life as a distance runner and then tripped with a quarter mile to go
But I I will get up and I will run
I will run with the Georgia peach breeze and I will win
I will win my Olympic dream
The gold's just not good enough
And I don't even think of the bronze
I've ????? my life for Olympic Platinum

I got beat real hard and heavy in the Olympic Games in 1968 by a guy who swam an incredible race one time in his whole life, but he did it right at the right time. I'd like to be that guy now. Maybe that's what I'm going to have to pull out of my hat to make the Olympic team.

The Olympic
There were ten on run in a race,
Many aiming for Gold, Silver or Bronze.
Others were there, hard in their tries
Not to finish the tenth. It is Olympic.
There were ten teams in a contest,
Each aiming for the three medals.
Others were there to give their best
Not to finish the last. It is Olympic.
How fought and not who got
Is the game of Olympic

Bid For Exclusive Olympic Coverage
a corporate news agency which shall not be named
bid for exclusive Olympic coverage purchased

of premium competitive competition
sliced diced sold coverage to its own networks
to highest secondary bidders for maximum
revenue profit reducing Olympic dynamic
motion into pathetic still photographs on most...
news channels for viewer poor who did not
sign up for elite audience viewing dreams
have been sold rendered a superbowl of pin
up stars to entertain a box office ticketed

Olympic Gold
The power the fitness of youth grips nationalistic hope
The Olympic gold only for the best with mind to cope,
Training and hard work fills the hearts to win'
To gain a place to represent and lose is no sin.
All nations hold hands in spirit to compete
Joy and flags waving with smiles, tears for defeat.
The runners, the jumpers, the swimmers and gymnasts
Thrill the world with memories that will always last,
The world of five continents together in the Olympic flag rings,
Togetherness their anthems the whole world sings.

The M.O.& A.N.O.B.B. n' W. Award
'Never in my wildest dreams,
Had I ever in my lifetime 'think'
I would be so highly honored.
With such a prestigious citation.
I have been moved emotionally,
By such an incredible and heartfelt jesture.
And...
May I say,
If it had not been for 'you'...
Those I have come to touch.
This award...
The first of its kind,
Would not have been made possible.
Just to know my efforts,
Are being duly noted!
And in this acceptance,
I express my appreciation.
I thank each and every one of you,
Responsible for this.
And may this achievement,
Be not the end...
But the beginning,
Of more of that which you expect.'
~Well,
What do you think?
Too long?
Should I 'add' or cut out something? ~
*Oh heavens no!
But I do think,
A slow dropping tear...
From your left eye...
Should bring the audience to its collective feet.
That would clinched it.
Expect thunderous applause.*
~Brilliant.
I love it.
That 'tear' falling business,
Is great.
Thank you!
And that would reek of sincerity too!
I will prove to them,
They have chosen the right one.~
*Oh, yeah...
Repeat again for me,
The name of the award.*
~Sure.
No problem.
It's The Most Obnoxious and Arrogant Negro,
To Offend Both Blacks n' Whites Award.
I am positive it will not be awarded too often.
I made sure my act would be a hard one to follow.
I've earned this.
Trust me.~
