As a civilian during the Second War, I was exposed to danger in circumstances which removed any distinction between the man in and the man out of uniform.

When I First Put This Uniform On
When I first put this uniform on,
I said, as I looked in the glass,
"It's one to a million
That any civilian
My figure and form will surpass.
Gold lace has a charm for the fair,
And I've plenty of that, and to spare,
While a lover's professions,
When uttered in Hessians,
Are eloquent everywhere!"
A fact that I counted upon,
When I first put this uniform on!
I said, when I first put it on,
"It is plain to the veriest dunce
That every beauty
Will feel it her duty
To yield to its glamour at once.
They will see that I'm freely gold-laced
In a uniform handsome and chaste" -
But the peripatetics
Of long-haired aesthetics,
Are very much more to their taste -
Which I never counted upon
When I first put this uniform on!

Danger
There is danger atop our heads;
There is danger around us all;
There is danger beneath our feet;
There is danger to man and beast!
There is danger in the skies;
There is danger in the seas;
There is danger ev’n on land;
There is danger to man and beast!
There is danger from earth’s bowels;
There is danger in forests;
There is danger in hills, vales;
There is danger to man and beast!
There is danger from our brethren;
There is danger from kith, kin;
There is danger from strangers;
There is danger to man and beast!
There is danger within us;
There is danger from space;
There is danger to our soul;
Nevertheless, God protects us.

Man In A Uniform
Oh, she said
(hut!)
She said c man in a uniform

She said c 3rd time this week u wore that old suit
But I dont give a damn, u see?
Because man in a uniform do funny things 2 me
And I said c its the 3rd time, but I dont mind
Cuz that sister just so damn fine, ah
Man in a uniform (hut!)
Thats what I am
Man in a uniform, uh
Thats what I am
She said c man in a uniform
Sufferin every stroke of my hand
From the dusk until the early morn
U will grant this girls demands (why? )
Cuz she need 2 be drunk with pride
Wait a minute, Im gon tell u why
2 make up, 2 make up
2 make up 4 the emptiness that she feel inside
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Come on
Man in a uniform, mama
Thats what I am (hut!)
(hut!)
Man in a uniform
She said c 2night (2night)
I want your attention (tention)
She said c 2night I want your violent tongue
2 swallow my stench and be loyal 2 me
Shell never be free
Until u do me like a man in a uniform (hut!)
Man in a uniform (in a uniform)
Thats what I am
In a uniform (baby, baby, yeah)
Thats what I am
Dirty little man in a uniform
Thats what I am (hut!)

Women In Uniform
Beehive hairdo, 45 on the hip
Patrolwoman Saunders, don't you give her no whip
Took me to the station for a breathtest
then back to the bedroom for some house-arrest
[Chorus:]
Women in uniform, sometimes they look so cold
Women in uniform, but, Oh! They feel so warm
Coming back to London on a 747
Stewardess made me feel like I'm in heaven
Looking up the aisle to see what I could see
She leaned over said; Give it to me
White apron, brown leather shoes
The nurse at the clinic left my heart all bruised
Gave me a massage, sprained my right
Now she takes my temperature every night
[Chorus]
Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Commando raid on the Lebanese border
Sergeant Anita, she gives the order
Khaki jacket and a love gun
Baby, I surrender, let's have some fun
[Chorus]
[Solo]
[Chorus]
Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Women in uniform, Women in uniform
Women in uniform, Khaki, white and blue
Women in uniform, coming after you
Women, women, Women in uniform
Women, women, Women in uniform
[Chorus]

With freedom comes responsibility, and I can think of no responsibility greater than putting on a U.S military uniform and standing in the gap between an enemy threat and civilian life.

In certain trying circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity furnishes a relief denied even to prayer.

A Victim Of Learning Too Many Lessons
Why is it that it seems,
You express little empathy...
Towards those who are currently,
Suffering from hunger, homelessness.
And a loss of their dignities.
'I began to express that years ago,
When the sight of it would hurt me so.
And I witnessed those with turned up noses.
Pretending what was exposed,
Had been a dilemma others chose.'
But the circumstances today are quite different.
'How and why? '
Those who suffer,
Have lost their homes and valuables.
And images that impressed,
Others in a lesser position...
They never took time to address.
With their empathies expressed.
'And...
Your point is what?
Their suffering done is more effective?
And my empathy given to them,
Should be more reflective? '
But the circumstances today are quite different.
'How and why? '
These people have never experienced,
A life lived like this before.
'Neither had my ancestors.
But guess what? '
What?
'When my ancestors suffered,
They never discriminated by looking away.
And today you can say...
I am a victim of learning too many lessons.
And when I am shown a negligence,
By them expressed...
What am I to do?
Show them I have not been taught by the best? '
But the circumstances today are quite different.
'How and why?
Are these new lessons I have not recognized?
Have those old lessons been changed,
And are now disguised? '

Ive Got A Funny Feeling
Well my babys wearin a permanent smile
A satisfied look I aint seen for awhile
I aint had no rings, fulfilled any dreams
But somethins come over my baby it seems
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealin my honey
Lord I love that child, love to see her smile
But these circumstances aint funny
Where lies a danger, is he a stranger or a pal
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealing my gal
If I came home early, lord what would I find?
Maybe Id rather just walk around blind
I know baby loves me, lord I understand
I love how emotions can get out of hand
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealin my honey
Lord I love that child, love to see her smile
But these circumstances aint funny
Where lies a danger, is he a stranger or a pal
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealing my gal
Wherever he is, well Im callin his bluff
Im gonna start wearin that good smellin stuff
And Ill be the lover that I used to be
Whatever shes missin, shell get it from me
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealin my honey
Lord I love that child, love to see her smile
But these circumstances aint funny
Where lies a danger, is he a stranger or a pal
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealing my gal
Ive got a funny feeling somebodys stealin my gal

We Are Not Removed
The oceans roars its fear to us,
But we are not removed.
The wind beats its fear to us,
But we are not removed.
The earth shakes its fear to us,
But we are not removed.
The people scream their fear to us,
But we are not removed.
Ocean, wind, earth, and people
May try to strike us down
But evermore shall we endure-
For we are not removed!

Knowing
There is a danger of knowing too much
knowing too much danger
Crossing a road without looking
Taking a risk with your cooking
A danger in knowing
There is a danger in knowing too much
Having digitalised lives
synched to computer
GOOGLED
There is a danger
Is there a danger in knowing?
Too much danger?
Too much knowing?
Too much?
we have/are becoming
More like a shopping mall
Packed full of brands
And gadgets
our apps additives
There is a danger of losing your child
In a shopping mall
Losing your self
In the underground
A danger in knowing
A danger in looking
The sign
The times
Are a changing
A danger of unseeing
Unliving
A danger of touching the edge of extinction
Without feeling
Bottled emotions
Formaladehyde Brains
Mask for a face
Stone for a heart
There is on a lighter note
A danger in eating my cooking
Knowing too much
Too soon
Too late
or a danger of knowing nothing
Simply eating what's arrived on your plate

The Outsider
There is a person, sometimes big, sometimes small
Who has a tendency to stay away from it all
When the rest of the proceedings are looked at, with wonder
This person is what everyone calls the quintessential Outsider
The Outsider could be a scavenger or a hangman
Or anybody considered unusual by a layman
He could be the maligned goalkeeper in a soccer game
Or a war-weary soldier, back to civilian life, devoid of fame
He wants to be in the thick of action, but cannot do so
He is misunderstood by a friend, as much as by a foe
His position is always lonely, always desolate, always solitary
Whether he be in a high-pressure game or the military
In every type of setting, he is a stranger
To some, he is a misfit; to some, a danger
To the well-established norms and stereotypes of the world
He is a character whose thoughts are best not unfurled
He refuses to give in to sycophancy, in this world so biased
Or conform to convention, so he is ostracized
No one seems to have time for his views
And thus his boredom with life blows a fuse
So, he is reduced to a mere observer
Of circumstances, which he becomes with little fervour
And in this way, he enlarges his experience
Of the development of life, surroundings and conscience

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.

One of the chief tasks of any dialogue with the Gentile world is to prove that the distinction between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism is not a distinction at all.
Danger Zone
Shaking off the tresholds of a long forgotten dream
And you just can't make it last
Coaching paradise on a personal line
But you get fired to fast
And you lie, memories drifting by
Love don't make it on those pin-striped nights
When you're looking through someone's disguise
You can't make it alone, so you gotta make a move
But you're looking at nobody's eyes
Well that's love, or maybe love come and go
Looking for love is a danger zone
Love don't go begging in the danger zone
You won't get nothing from the danger zone
Tales that you tell from the stories that you'll hear
And you'll get what you can while you may
Don't understand when you're looking for a dame
But it's only a heartbreak away
And you'll learn, faking has no return
No way when you're feeling that way
Will your feet get caught up in the crowd
And the song that you sing is too soft to be heard
But your speakers are way too loud
Like the pain, loving is no big game
Looking for love is a danger zone
No don't go living in the danger zone
You won't get nothing from the danger zone
Don't take no chances in the danger zone
Love don't go begging in the danger zone
No don't go living in the danger zone
You won't get nothing from the danger zone
Don't take no chances in the danger zone
Love don't go begging in the danger zone
