The Outsider

There is a person, sometimes big, sometimes small
Who has a tendency to stay away from it all
When the rest of the proceedings are looked at, with wonder
This person is what everyone calls the quintessential Outsider

The Outsider could be a scavenger or a hangman
Or anybody considered unusual by a layman
He could be the maligned goalkeeper in a soccer game
Or a war-weary soldier, back to civilian life, devoid of fame

He wants to be in the thick of action, but cannot do so
He is misunderstood by a friend, as much as by a foe
His position is always lonely, always desolate, always solitary
Whether he be in a high-pressure game or the military

In every type of setting, he is a stranger
To some, he is a misfit; to some, a danger
To the well-established norms and stereotypes of the world
He is a character whose thoughts are best not unfurled

He refuses to give in to sycophancy, in this world so biased
Or conform to convention, so he is ostracized
No one seems to have time for his views
And thus his boredom with life blows a fuse

So, he is reduced to a mere observer
Of circumstances, which he becomes with little fervour
And in this way, he enlarges his experience
Of the development of life, surroundings and conscience

Outsider

The many childhood memories that I have
are lonely ones of being an outsider.
I never mixed very well
and was always the last one,
other children wanted to call a friend.
I was a quiet person
who spent much of his time alone
buried deep within his own thoughts.
At classes, I always got the lowest grades,
on vacation I almost always was on my own.
I would sit for hours just pondering on my thoughts.
I never grew out of being an outsider,
different from the rest.
My early life was over shadowed
by younger sister whom my parents adored.
Every achievement that I made
my sister could do it better.
Not only was I an outsider at school,
but also at home a well.
In 1959, I left the shores
of the place I called home
to go back to the place of my birth.
Not until forty-two years later
would, I set foot on that soil again.
Things in the world had changed,
but not so much for me
as I was still a stranger
in the land I called my home.

Outsider

(ian hunter)
Death be my mistress, guns be my wife
Breath is my witness and roads are my life
Just give my future's clean as a knife
Far on the way from l.a.
The sun heats the saddle, sand in my hair
Looking for water and there's sweat everywhere
Know that i'm nearer i smell damp air
I ain't tasted coffee for days
When the leaves are down i'll be southward bound
Hunters hunt the outsider.
When the wind grows cold, when the sun grows old,
Nothing holds the outsider
Just killed a man in a town called nightfall
Damned if i can't remember it all
My hand it was shaking but his talk it was tall
I paid for the funeral crew
And it seems like i never reach mexico
They're heading me off every place that i go
I'm sick of the fact that i've got to lay low
What else can an outsider do
I know they're near to me, i don't have to see
Just let me be the outsider
They ain't far behind, they're always on my mind
They won't find the outsider
The outsider
When the leaves are down i'll be southward bound
Hunter's haunt the outsider.
When the wind grows cold, when the sun grows old,
Nothing holds the outsider
The outsider. the outsider.

Outsider

Noone want to hang with me because I was an Asian
They laugh at me and laugh behind my back
I feel like an
Outsider
Everything was bad
Nothing going to change
I was so sad and hurt
They don't even know me and never give me chance
I feel like an
Outsider
What can I do?
They keep gossip about me and giving me dirty looks
Before it was hard to have friends
Now it's ok
Everyone accept me for who I am and didn't judge me anymore
I'm not only lonely girl anymore
Everything turn around and I'm happy

Mirroring the shades of me

I look into the mirror and
Seeing not only a reflection of myself,
This world or the world daring me to enter
But the person I use to be
The one I'm afraid to be again
The person who would tear your heart apart
And not care
The person that didn't take her education seriously
The type of person that wanted to do
What she wanted to do

I see the person I am
Someone who helps you
No matter what
Even if I'm the one getting kicked
The senior in high school getting ready for graduation
Hovering over the next level of my life
But trying to find a way up out of the middle of the ocean
Everyone calls life in an education box
This is where I will discover
The mouse and tiger inside of me
Don't want to think of separating
Of being alone
And on my own

It's faded but there as I glance into the mirror
I see the person I will be
A person who helps other people
Discover that people with disabilities
Are not so different
I have found my way up the education latter
Helping people
Showing them there is someone that cares
And believes that they can do
Whatever they set their mind too

As if my mind was coming back to me
Out of a dream
My eyes cleared
As I realized I was just
Standing in front of a mirror
Thinking of that red cap and gown again

Oh I'm an outsider outside of everything
Oh I'm an outsider outside of everything
Oh I'm an outsider outside of everything

everything you know
it disturbs me so

Oh I'm an outsider outside of everything

Everything you know
It disturbs me so

Everybody's gotta push me
Push me around
Everybody tryed to put me
Tryed to put me down

I messed up everyone
I've already had all my fun
More troubles are gonna come
I've already had all my fun
Oh yeah yeah yeah

Everybody try to push me

Dangerous Thoughts

At one point of time I dangerously thought
Lot many ideas came and bravely fought
None of them were meant to be useful
They were all bound to make me unsuccessful

'Idle mind is devil's workshop' I feel it right
No one should take it casually or light
There is heavy impetus in it and needs study
Whole concept itself is beautiful and praise worthy

'One must end the life' to test the another world
It may be looking beautiful with many features and fold
Such things invade and make mind shaky
Compel us to do the unusual things and make unhappy

Remain among family members when feel such tendency
It should not occur often and at regular frequency
It speaks of defeatist views and helpless stage
It comes in mind when faced by failure or due to age

One should be cautious enough to repeal those views
That can push individual to the advices of few
It is likely that no end solution may ever be found
One may certainly be driven from the reality of ground

Life should not be reduced to boredom
Vacuum should be avoided and felt seldom
There are many ways to keep busy
Life can be made really easy

No one can deny about life and its hollowness
Yet we are here to live with and bravely face
Not all people may be born with silver spoon
One will have to face the hot sun in afternoon

Think of those souls who are short of everything
They are provided with no means or anything
They live the life of useless animal and suffer
We are at least far better and in position to offer

Keep busy all the time and live with pleasure
Life may have ups and down but nothing is sure
You may be on the top of the height at one time
At the bottom very next moment sometimes

Outsider

I am the one outside the group
outside the circle
the one who fell through
the holes in the net
The stranger
the outsider
I came close
and you said come closer;
and I made every effort -
eager, naïve and persistent -
but you had sophistication;
you always have sophistication;
and you played with me;
you needed bodies and responses
to fill in forms and information
and your Bureau of Statistics
and I was there - guided, directed
and you knew
all the while,
I was the stranger, the outsider
And you whispered to one another
while your smooth talk was practiced and distinct
I was the stranger, am the outsider
which you knew all the while
which I only saw late in the hour
and so I live now at the borders, at the periphery
and now when we walk past each other
we gaze at each other with caution
with careful disregard

Homeless

while walking thru the woods one day
a wise homeless man came my way
and as he came closer to me
he asked me so softely.

do you have a dollar you could spare
to buy a burger for my wife and i to share.
i've lost everything in my life
home, car, children too.
and i don't know what to do.

so now my wife and i sleep under the trees
with leaves as a bed, to rest my weary head.

i know that my clothes are torn and tattered
but to me that does'nt matter.
if i could have a dollar or two
i would be grateful to you.

a warm meal is all i ask, if it's not much of a task.
all my life i was a provider, and now i'm an outsider
an outsider who finally sees, what poverty has done to me.

i've worked every job that i could find
.to be the provider that i used to be.
but life turned its back on me

they say that humanity always asks the LORD.
'why me' but poverty is the student
and hardship is the teacher.
that is the way the LORD can reach us.

for when we see all that we had, and did not want to share.
turned our backs on everyone, and did not really care.
this is the time that our lessons in life unfolds.
for in GODS teachings, to help our fellow man.
sacrifices we all must make, its part of GODS plan.

and now that i am homeless and living in the woods
i have to ask myself.
'what would have happened if in my life i was good'

i gave this man five dollars for that was all i had.
he looked up at me and smiled
and blessed me for the generosity.
then he turned his back, and departed from me.

and as he walked away, a mist covered him from view.
there was no one there, that was when i knew.
the LORD had came to me that day.
just to show me the homeless way.

The Fellow Who Doesn't Fit In

He doesn't play sports drink alcohol or take dope and you might say he doesn't fit in
And he doesn't lust after young women and he's not seen as a man amongst men
He works hard to provide for his family and he leads a good and a clean life
And he is a nice man to talk to and he is faithful to his wife.

He's not a religious type person and he doesn't attend church on sunday
And he too in some ways a sinner the religious zealots might say
And some see him as a social outsider but to live clean should not be a sin
And he deserve respect not scorn the fellow who doesn't fit in.

He doesn't watch football on the t.v. or support any football team
And he's not part of any social club nor does he crave social esteem
Yet he has his many detractors in life it is so hard to win
And his type of man getting rarer the fellow who doesn't fit in.

He doesn't play cricket or football with his children as many a young father do
On sundays with his wife and his young son and daughter he's at the cinema, art gallery or zoo
And he is a man who loves Nature and is loving Nature a sin?
For he is looked on with suspicion the fellow who doesn't fit in.

Politics, women, money and work matters of such topics he tend to stay clear
And he's just your average type of person his children and his wife to him dear
Yet he is looked on as quite boring and his name is mentioned with a grin
And life isn't meant to be easy for the fellow who 'doesn't fit in'

Xavier

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

This is my gift you.
Don't worry, I wanted to.
No appreciation is ever needed.
I'm just not that conceded.
In fact I'm a ghost.
I was never even here.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

A love for all so strong.
A free spirit.
Is that so wrong?
Life is but full of times when you will be walked upon.
I say so what?
I'm doing what feels right.
Let us hope I don't get burned tonight.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

So many screams.
How could one ever reach them all.
It's like a million calls.
Answering with this is 911 what is your emergency.
An every time you know their will be another one.
When beating upon a dead horse does it move?
Sometimes you do have too pick and choose.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

Triage on the battle field.
One wound so serious and then the next.
It goes straight in the heart.
A dagger forever piercing.
The pain of repetition.
Knowing no matter what you just cant save them all.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

For the goodness of my soul.
For the redemption from my lord.
For a better world.
So many reason.
But I don't need a excuse.
A life must never be abused.
We can not take it for granted.
For a second one will not be given.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

Tell me now is this common behavior?
A physiological analyzation.
The words and thoughts of memorization.
We can't all be your hero.
But this time just let it be me.
Let it be me.
A call to destiny.
A play upon both the heaven and earth.
A wish to remove a curse.
With all my desire burns a fire.
It can't be just put out.
It has been burning for way too long.
A life in which I belong.
Thoughts that become a continuation of a song.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

Stranger in danger.
Let me be savior.
Let me be your Xavier.

Please just let me be your savior.
You ask of my name?
And I say, It's Xavier.

It's Xavier.

It's Xavier.

It's Xavier.

My Name Is Xavier.

Rare Thoughts that Never Go away

Has anyone out there reading this
Ever thought about that one person that is always in your thoughts and they never go away?
Well many of us out there are too scared of what or whom we miss
And then there are some of us that can't stop thinking of them throughout the day
Well I am this kind of person that just met a person not long ago
And I am here to say that my thoughts are of this person that I really admire
There are so many people that say how you can feel that way about someone who you barely know
I simply tell them that I trust in the Lord's every desire
Even though finding that one kind of person in everyone's life is rare
Who is always willing to listen and be gentle and kind
I hope that everyone can find this type of person that seems to always be there
Because I want her to know this is why she is always on my mind
And this is why these thoughts never go away
Because of the friendship that has come from the Heaven Above
This is why I am glad, for these thoughts are here to stay
And hopefully those thoughts and feelings will turn from friendship to passionate love

A Soldier- Dedicated to Nicholas Shelton

There is discipline in A Soldier you can see it when he walks,
There is honor in A Soldier you hear it when he talks.
There is courage in A Soldier you can see it in his eyes,
There is loyalty in A Soldier that he will not compromise.
There is something in A Soldier that makes him stand apart,
There is strength in A Soldier that beats from his heart.
A Soldier isn't a title any man can be hired to do,
A Soldier is the soul of that man buried deep inside of you.
A Soldier's job isn't finished after an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week,
A Soldier is always A Soldier even while he sleeps.
A Soldier serves his country first and his life is left behind,
A Soldier has to sacrifice what comes first in a civilian's mind.
If you are civilian - I am saying this to you..... next time you see A Soldier remember what they do.
A Soldier is the reason our land is 'Home of the free',
A Soldier is the one that is brave protecting you and me.
If you are A Soldier - I am saying this to you.....
Thank God for EVERY SOLDIER Thank God for what YOU do!

I thought about you Mr. Shelton, I figured this is the least I could do to thank you my friend.

You Got The Deal

I lived my life one way too long.
Deal me straight, I can't go wrong.
A gambler's fate's in the cards he takes,
And now I know it's just a mistake.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
You got the . . .
Left our dreams on a lonely road.
Come back here with a heavy load.
Fight our best when the chips are down.
You go your way, and I'll win this round.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
LEAD BREAK
You live your life for the dollar sign.
And all that you've made,
You're just buying time.
But time takes it toll,
It don't care who you are
You know you're marked for life
With your empty heart.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
I don't know the game,
But you got the deal.
Don't know the game,
But you got the deal.

Outsider
Someone else is in your arms tonight
While Im all alone and blue
Someone else will kiss and hold you tight
Just the way I used to do
I used to be your love
And now Im your used to be
Outsider, thats me
Youll be dancing cheek to cheek with him
To our favorite melody
And the tender words you speak to him
Will be words you spoke to me
Once I was in your hearts
Now someone else holds the key
Outsider, thats me
*I want you so much (so much)
I can look (you can look) but must not touch
I keep waiting for the phone to ring
But I know its all in vain
When you left me you took everything
But the memories and the pain
I used to be your love
And now Im your used to be

(Choices Poem) Circumstances Unending

If you had to choose what would you do
Circumstances unending
A victim of life
A victim of death
A victim of compromises
A heart in pain either way.
To make your world a little more okay

To let the one you love go for the better
Or the happiness of poverty in suffering
Like a mother choosing for a child
you must make the decision out of true love.
Forever the greater good.
The eagle looks upon us all with his eyes.
Only if I could see it that way.

If you had to choose what would you do
Circumstances unending
A victim of life
A victim of death
A victim of compromises
A heart in pain either way.
To make your world a little more okay

When you do such a thing their is no going back
Chasing after something you threw away.
All in a attempt to be the better man.
The homeless playing a game of kick the can.
Nobody ever wins.
It is to pass time as it will always do.

If you had to choose what would you do
Circumstances unending
A victim of life
A victim of death
A victim of compromises
A heart in pain either way.
To make your world a little more okay

Regret and bitter
Feelings that will never sit well with you
Your determined to overcome, and it not be prolonged
She is gone.
Forever a bad choice.
That you wouldn't want to change.

If you had to choose what would you do
Circumstances unending
A victim of life
A victim of death
A victim of compromises
A heart in pain either way.
To make your world a little more okay

The portrait of your face betrays the feeling inside.
The things you try to bury and hide.
At one time you were happy.
At one time you smiling and so full of spirit.
But now you fall into a very empty depression.

If you had to choose what would you do
Circumstances unending
A victim of life
A victim of death
A victim of compromises
A heart in pain either way.
To make your world a little more okay

No one will come and pick you up.
If you fall it will be you last one.
Like a soldier you still march as if you were still on call.
Duty and service is all you've ever known.
And now a world sits before you.
And still your all alone.

If you had to choose what would you do
Circumstances unending
A victim of life
A victim of death
A victim of compromises
A heart in pain either way.
To make your world a little more okay
