We usually use that mostly on the weekends because we have access to the range during the week. But I can tell you a number of times they have had a training holiday at Fort Benning, so nobody trains, and to drag him in is like pulling teeth.

Motion of Pulling the Fire Alarm
Feverish children running with joy
All but one had fun, a little boy
Left on his mind was the tiny farm
And the motion of pulling the fire alarm
His mind on the farm with nothing to say
Wearing a mask of a happy son
looking back at the angry days
but finally he was done

Johannesburg 1965
As a baby barely able to walk,
I walked in the long corridors
of the apartment block that belonged to us
pulling-pulling on the big collie dog
that was smiling at me all the time
and wanted to lick me in my face,
taking a broom
I held the handle against my head
and when I slipped and fell
my whole forehead was cleft open
with blood pouring out
as if from a fountain.
One afternoon I got hold of the shoe polish
smearing my face full of Nugget
and I looked like dear old Sofie
and she laughed with white teeth
while cleaning my face,
carried me to the top floor
where we looked out on De Bergen Street
seeing trams passing hopping on the tracks
and the passing people dumbfounded me.
Some of the Portuguese tenants
called me “bambino, ”
giving me Marie-biscuits
and green, purple and black olives
while they stroked through my hair
and still I am wondering
if they were longing
for their children and wives in Portugal?

Ache
Ache woke up this morning and felt no too cool
cause every time I tried to make my mouth move
The pain Im having is so discomforting
Please make this suffering go away
I told my mom what I was feeling
And how long Ive been dealing with it
Knew it was coming, but didnt know how soon
She said Ive reached another adolescent monsoon

Why cant I take it like a man

He was a well-educated man, had his degree in medicine
I noticed his hairy hands... he was a very, very hairy man

He turned around, rolled up his sleeve
I rolled my eyes then suddenly
A horrible pain grew, the next thing that I knew
The doc had pulled my wisdom teeth...out!
Well along with my teeth my money also left me
As he made out the bill, I was moaning
Oooo ahh... the pain is tremendous
Where the hell is my prescription...of codeine?
But when will I speak, how long until my mouth feels natural?
How long will they bleed, when will they heal, wheres the real meal
