I would like to host a show, something like travel or cooking or something like that, something I'm really interested in, and so I'm pitching a couple television shows.

I pitched my last children's show presentation in the mid 1980's. The era of locally produced children's shows was over and the networks were not and are not interested in children's television.

In day-to-day commerce, television is not so much interested in the business of communications as in the business of delivering audiences to advertisers. People are the merchandise, not the shows. The shows are merely the bait.
I was mostly interested in it as a theatrical film. Personally, I am not so interested in television, simply because I don't watch television myself. I'm into movies.

I've often talked about that, and I've been asked that a couple of times and my feeling are that if you have a good show, a bad host will not even hurt the show.

And I'm auditioning right now for a movie, and then I have a script that I'm reading right now for a horror film, and I'm meeting for a couple of television shows that I just had yesterday, and pretty much was offered one of them.

The mass media in the days of newspapers and television it's hard to be able to find a story that's about just what you're interested in at the time you're interested in it.

Talk Show Host
I can't describe the pressure of the hype
Another show they'll have your vein opened up again
But it's all the same they way they sell the game
Sucking out the feeling so you'll never win
Overload...in stereo...I'm sweating like a talk show host tonight
Overload...in stereo...I'm sweating like a talk show host tonight
Despite the high that tends to come out live
The repetition seems to grab the flare away
The radio it seems so shady oh
I'll never hear myself just quite the same again
Overload...in stereo...I'm sweating like a talk show host tonight
Overload...in stereo...I'm sweating like a talk show host tonight
I'll see you on the way down
Overload...in stereo...I'm sweating like a talk show host tonight
Overload...in stereo...I'm sweating like a talk show host tonight

Life goes on pretty much the same way. I've been working on a couple of films on the side. You may see some more. You may even see another television show.

My only general rule was to steer away from things I played with the band over the past couple of tours. I was interested in re-shaping the Rising material for live shows, so people could hear the bare bones of that.

There have been two Geraldo Riveras through his long career. One of them was a reporter who has done some remarkable work. The other was a television show host who did what it took to get an audience.
To Remember
To remember those people who risked their lives
To show appreciation, to show we care
To save our country, they gave their lives
For their families it was like a dreaded nightmare
To support those soldiers and wear a poppy
To give some money, and not be soppy
To wear a poppy and remember that first day poppies grew, that one day it was sunny
Do you remember why
Why we wear a poppy for a couple of days
To show we remember and to show our gratitude is high
To do that, doesn’t pay
So to remember
To be silent
For a couple of minutes
Doesn’t pay
It just shows gratitude
For that one sad day

The fate of attention
I grew interested.
I became interested.
I stayed interested.
I was no more interested.
I was no longer interested.
I grow uninterested.
It is so for every person
And for every thing
We focus our attention on.

Unlike productions in the other arts, all television shows are born to destroy two other shows.
