October the Post Office Cat
Some thought she was a stray
That had come for scraps along the way
That might be left from the lunch
Of the post office staff; a kindly bunch.
But others knew her for what she was,
October the Post Office Cat.
She had a duty like any employee
To be on time and serve the public daily
And as any other as all know,
Had an official position just so.
October the Post Office Cat.
As soon as the walks were swept
And the doors were opened for the daily visits,
She found her space upon the walk
A bit removed so that none would balk
As they came to do their task or mail whatever.

She often times was given the duty
Of minding some child whose custodian
Had business to attend
In dealing with the letters or packages within,
So she laid there carefully in the sun
Till end of day when her work was done.

She was known by all who came along that way
Parking carefully throughout the day
Making sure that she was not disturbed
As she, her duties did perform.
Watching and listening to the sounds of pleasure
That only can be bestowed on one to treasure.
Yet adults knew not how to measure.

A yellow sign was placed on display
By the lady who ran the insurance office
Who wanted to be sure that others notice
That this was the path taken each day
As the cat came to begin her official stay.

After working hard all day

We Need Binding Referendums Now Feb 19th 2011
We don’t need to go somewhere else to solve our legal problems,
We can do it here in Canada with binding referendums,
But we don’t have binding referendums because they are banned,
And worse, only establishment media moguls can take a stand.
And now and then we even have an election where they boast,
Though no set-date elections allowed and only first past the post,
No proportional representation or equalization,
In our so called stable democratic first-past-the-post nation.
And our politicians are busy taxing and spending right now,
Therefore binding referendums is something they will not allow,
This will not be discussed on TV or written in the papers,
Nor will death with dignity or any other strange capers.

A Moaning Minnie
The old fusspot was tall and lean
but strong and rich men ran off seeing him.
Unbearable were his hurting remarks,
his wife would be a guest often to her sisters.
Every word he uttered made the hearer to shudder.
He would make a hill out of a molehill.
Women gave him more respect, or else
he would be spreading rumours against them.
His verbal assaults scared his fellow teachers.
As he would skip classes and idle in the staff-room,
all others ran off to take classes.
If anybody skived off a class, he would yell:
' You'll be receiving this day's salary as graft'.
His son was afraid of him but his daughter feared him.
When he was bed-ridden once, nobody turned up to see him;
He warned everybody by phone, saying:
' You'll also fall ill.No dog will call on you'
When an officer issued him orders of transfer,
he sat before the office with a cane full of petrol,
shouting, he would immolate against bribery in the office.
The officer cancelled the orders and sent him back.
My God! How many old gits like this one
rail at people with sparks of fire!
