What you have when everyone wears the same playclothes for all occasions, is addressad by nickname, expected to participate in Show And Tell, and bullied out of any desire form privacy, is not democracy; it is kindergarten.

My parents had very high expectations. They expected me to get straight A's from the time I was in kindergarten.
Privacy under what circumstance? Privacy at home under what circumstances? You have more privacy if everyone's illiterate, but you wouldn't really call that privacy. That's ignorance.

Impersonal Third Person Invitations
I've never been into,
Impersonal third person invitations.
With expectations that I participate,
In the enjoyment of activities.
I believe if someone wants me,
To appear in their environment personally...
At least that wish to me 'personally',
Should from them be extended.
'You didn't show.
And we expected you.'
I didn't receive from 'you' an invitation.

The 'Good' Life
Wake up in the morning to screaming,
Reporters getting into your personal life,
No privacy,
As you walk down the street,
You are followed constantly by people you do not know
No privacy
You break up with your girlfriend, for the fifth time
It’s on the cover of a magazine
No privacy
Every fucking shit we take,
It’s recorded somewhere
No privacy
You die a tragic death at a young age,
People who you have never met attend your funeral
No privacy
This is what we call the “good” life…

I always assume that democracy is the only good form of government, quite frankly, and democracy is always to be preferred.

It is a paradox that far too few Americans participate in the wonderful ritual of democracy that we call Election Day.

I was coming home from kindergarten--well they told me it was kindergarten. I found out later I had been working in a factory for ten years. It's good for a kid to know how to make gloves.

How Long Does This Sedation Last?
Senators and Governor Generals are all appointed,
And we are expected to show that we are not disappointed,
And dumb politicians can’t be recalled because that’s not allowed,
The system is great, they say and we are compelled to feel proud.
Where all terrorists and prisoners have Trudeau’s Charter Rights,
All the way to the appointed Supreme Court with their legal fights,
And political candidates with the most votes have always won,
Though the combined votes of the loosers was more but no reruns.
And without binding referendums, nothing is allowed to change,
Democracy with no proportional representation strange,
Is this a graphic illustration of a sleep walking nation?
How do we get out of this form of political sedation?

My Best Friend
Flashes of my past,
Come back to me.
Everytime I blink,
A vision appears.
The first one is,
When I was at my old school,
Getting bullied.
The next one,
I was being bullied,
And the teachers didn't stop it.
Then,
I was at the park,
Getting picked on by older guys.
Next the vision came,
So fast,
I passed out.
While I was passed out,
Visions of when I was bullied,
Swam in my head.
One of getting punched,
One of getting called names,
One of getting tripped.
One of getting ran over,
And one of my friend,
Helping me up.
She always helped,
And always stood up,
To the bullies.
She protects me,
Because of,
Two simple things.
One I'm weaker than her,
And two,
We've been friends for a long time.

Fake Plastic Trees
Her green plastic watering can
For her fake chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself.
It wears her out
It wears her out
It wears her out
It wears her out
She lives with a broken man,
A cracked polystyreneman
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins.
And it wears him out
It wears him out
It wears him out
It wears...
She looks like the real thing.
She tastes like the real thing,
My fake plastic love
But I cant help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run.
And it wears me out
It wears me out
It wears me out
It wears me out
If I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted
All the time
All the time.

Our Founding Fathers crafted a constitutional Republic for the first time in the history of the world because they were shaping a form of government that would not have the failures of a democracy in it, but had the representation of democracy in it.

The presidency itself is not a partisan institution. It’s the one office in this nation that represents everyone and it demands a duty of care for all Americans. That is precisely what I will do. I will work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me as I will for those who did vote for me. Now, every vote must be counted. No one’s going to take our democracy away from us, not now, not ever. America’s come too far. America’s fought too many battles. America’s endured too much to ever let that happen. We the people will not be silenced. We the people will not be bullied. We the people will not surrender. My friends, I’m confident we’ll emerge victorious. But this will not be my victory alone or our victory alone. It’ll be a victory for the American people, for our democracy, for America.

Sometimes you have to be careful when selecting a new nickname for yourself. For instance, let's say you have chosen the nickname 'Fly Head'. Normally, you would think that 'Fly Head' would mean a person who had beautiful swept-back features, as if flying though the air. But think again. Couldn't it also mean 'having a head like a fly' I'm afraid some people might actually think that.
