What Is Sure and Certain
What is sure and certain
Is death
Who is dead and who is living
Who is learned who is not
Not easy to tell.
We are here to endure
Everything that are
Transitory fleeting temporary
We are here to endure
cold and heat and rise and fall.
We should know pain and pleasure
We are here to feel and endure
And we know nothing is certain
Nothing is sure.

A Monument For The Soldiers
A monument for the Soldiers!
And what will ye build it of?
Can ye build it of marble, or brass, or bronze,
Outlasting the Soldiers' love?
Can ye glorify it with legends
As grand as their blood hath writ
From the inmost shrine of this land of thine
To the outermost verge of it?
And the answer came: We would build it
Out of our hopes made sure,
And out of our purest prayers and tears,
And out of our faith secure:
We would build it out of the great white truths
Their death hath sanctified,
And the sculptured forms of the men in arms,
And their faces ere they died.
And what heroic figures
Can the sculptor carve in stone?
Can the marble breast be made to bleed,
And the marble lips to moan?
Can the marble brow be fevered?
And the marble eyes be graved
To look their last, as the flag floats past,
On the country they have saved?
And the answer came: The figures
Shall all be fair and brave,
And, as befitting, as pure and white
As the stars above their grave!
The marble lips, and breast and brow
Whereon the laurel lies,
Bequeath us right to guard the flight
Of the old flag in the skies!
A monument for the Soldiers!
Built of a people's love,
And blazoned and decked and panoplied
With the hearts ye build it oft
And see that ye build it stately,
In pillar and niche and gate,
And high in pose as the souls of those
It would commemorate!

On a hillock outside the city
On a hillock outside the city
a monument build from marble and stone
guards forevermore,
catching the sun’s
rays one new day dutifully.
It tells true stories
of a nation’s struggle to survive and be free
from oppression and a great trek
across the veldt and over high mountains,
of vicious wild men
and the belief
in the creator God
who came to aid
to save from total annihilation
when they called on Him.

Think It Over
(holly / petty / allison)
Think it over what you just said.
Think it over in your pretty little head.
Are you sure that Im not the one?
Is your love real or only fun?
Think it over, just think it over.
My lonely heart grows cold and old.
Think it over and let me know.
Think it over and dont be slow.
Just remember all birds and bees
Go by twos through lifes mysteries.
Think it over, yes just think it over.
My lonely heart grows cold and old.
Think it over (over and over).
Think it over (over and over).
Think it over (over and over).
Think it over (over and over).
Think it over, just think it over.
My lonely heart grows cold and old.
All right, all right.
Think it over and think of me.
Think it over and you will see
The happy day when you and i
Think as one and kiss the bkues goodbye.
Think it over, just think it over.
My lonely heart grows cold and old.

Sonnet: After Death
A dead person never requires praise,
Nor does rebuking help to change his ways;
What if he wins or loses any case?
His earthly tenure, none can ev’r efface.
The soul that’s dead needs no awards/rewards,
Or posthumous citations, or birthdays;
What does it matter if they be kings/ bards?
No monument, his achievements repays.
And statues, paintings too will not suffice,
To glorify his works or laud great souls;
Just prayers for the dead souls will be wise,
And pleas to God to save souls from hell’s coals.
Death is a full-stop to our life’s sentence!
Where use we must, our sense and common sense.

Herman Altman
Did I follow Truth wherever she led,
And stand against the whole world for a cause,
And uphold the weak against the strong?
If I did I would be remembered among men
As I was known in life among the people,
And as I was hated and loved on earth,
Therefore, build no monument to me,
And carve no bust for me,
Lest, though I become not a demi-god,
The reality of my soul be lost,
So that thieves and liars,
Who were my enemies and destroyed me,
And the children of thieves and liars,
May claim me and affirm before my bust
That they stood with me in the days of my defeat.
Build me no monument
Lest my memory be perverted to the uses
Of lying and oppression.
My lovers and their children must not be dispossessed of me;
I would be the untarnished possession forever
Of those for whom I lived.

The Eight Formations
Your achievements overshadowed
any in the Three Kingdoms;
most famous of all was your design
for the Eight Formations.
Against the river’s surge,
they stand solid, immovable,
a monument to your lasting regret
at failing to swallow up Wu.
When love grows diseased, the best thing we can do is to put it to a violent death; I cannot endure the torture of a lingering and consumptive passion.

To My Bones
In my sleep it rips through
my meagre skin
throws off the red bandage of the flesh
and goes strolling through the room
my monument a little incomplete
one can be prodigal
with tears and blood
what will endure here the longest
must be thoughtfully provided for
better (than with a priest's dry finger
to the rains which drip from a cloud of sand)
to give one's monument to the academey
they will prop it up in a glass display case
and in Latin they will pray before
the little altar made from an os frontalis
they will reckon the bones and surfaces
they will not forget not overlook
happily I will give my color of eyes
pattern of nails and curve of eyelids
I the perfectly objective
made from white crystals of anatomy
can for thoughts
heart cage
bony pile
and two shins
you my little monument not quite complete

Here Great Erasmus resteth all of thine
That Death can touch or Monument confine
Thy Hope and Virtue soard ye lofty sky
Round ye wide world thy Fame & Knowledge fly
Those meet rewards above and these below.
Thus seek Erasmus. What has Death to show?

Arctic World
I dont wanna grow anything in my heart
I dont want to write all these things in the sand
I dont want to listen and not understand
I dont want to tramp up the footpath of stars
Dont want to be an advocate
Dont want to be a monument
There is nothing that grows in your arctic world
I dont want to breathe that smithsonian air
I dont want to listen when they toll the bell
cos I cant take another industrial feast
On the ground, on my back, out there
I want to meet the president
Of a country without sense
There is nothing that grows in his arctic world
There is nothing that grows in your arctic world
There is nothing that grows in this arctic world

Blue Monday
How does it feel
To treat me like you do
When youve laid your hands upon me
And told me who you are
I thought I was mistaken
I thought I heard your words
Tell me how do I feel
Tell me now how do I feel
Those who came before me
Lived through their vocations
From the past until completion
They will turn away no more
And I still find it so hard
To say what I need to say
But Im quite sure that youll tell me
Just how I should feel today
I see a ship in the harbor
I can and shall obey
But if it wasnt for your misfortunes
Id be a heavenly person today
And I thought I was mistaken
And I thought I heard you speak
Tell me how do I feel
Tell me now how should I feel
Now I stand here waiting
I thought I told you to leave me
While I walked down to the beach
Tell me how does it feel
When your heart grows cold
(grows cold, grows cold, grows cold)

I remember my youth and the feeling that will never come back any more — the feeling that I could last for ever, outlast the sea, the earth, and all men; the deceitful feeling that lures us on to joys, to perils, to love, to vain effort — to death; the triumphant conviction of strength, the heat of life in the handful of dust, the glow in the heart that with every year grows dim, grows cold, grows small, and expires — and expires, too soon — too soon before life itself.

Enemy Series: Life and Death from Wizard 101
Life and Death are different
Life is warm
Death is cold
But they still share a school
Life is hope and wonders
Death is whimps and sorrow
But both share the same dream
Life is good
Death is great
Great as the number eight
But afraid of eachother
Life is in death
As death is in life
So whats the difference?
I SAY NONE!

Nearer
Nearer and ever nearer...
My body, tired but tense,
Hovers 'twixt vague pleasure
And tremulous confidence.
Arms to have and to use them
And a soul to be made
Worthy, if not worthy;
If afraid, unafraid.
To endure for a little,
To endure and have done:
Men I love about me,
Over me the sun!
And should at last suddenly
Fly the speeding death,
The four great quarters of heaven
Receive this littlle breath.

Sonnet: All Earthly Things Shall Pass
Build, we may, Skyscrapers still incredible;
Make, we may, monuments, superb, splendid;
Write, we may, manuscripts, more indelible;
Sculpt, we may, statues more, less insipid.
Found, we may empires, umptine, vast, great;
Tell, we may stories that all love to hear;
Reign, we may like Kings unsurpassed, till date;
Do we may great things, unheard by man’s ear.
The glory of our earthly gains shall pass;
The splendor of man’s achievements last short;
The mightiest of earthlings dies, Alas!
Man's grandeur some day surely shall abort.
Man's art may live for longer time than life;
But continues mankind thus, despite strife!

Sonnet VIII
I live, I burn, I drown and I die
I endure at once chill and cold;
Life is too hard and too soft to hold;
I am joyful and sad, don't ask me why.
Suddenly I laugh and at the same time cry
And as I'm happy I must endure grief,
It lasts forever and goes like a thief,
Suddenly I bloom and vanish into sigh.
Thus I suffer Amors' inconstancy
And when I think I am in great pain,
Without thinking, it is gone again.
Then when my joy is a certainty
And my longing for love is not in vain,
I am in pain all over once again.

The Big Red Bus
All nationalities, races and religions
Represented on this world on wheels
As sights of Paris pass by, our senses
Now immune to their immensity
One monument to history merges into another
Each story of glories and achievements
Relating to past battles against foes
Now considered friends
Each represented on the Big Red Bus
