No matter how many goals you have achieved, you must set your sights on a higher one.

Achievements
Most people think of achievements
in only monetary terms,
but achievements have nothing to do with money.
They are the goals in life
that our hearts desire.
Someone in a wheelchair enters a marathon
and when they cross the finishing line,
they have achieved something for themselves,
proving they can do anything
if they really want to try.
When we put pen to paper
and finish whatever we are about to write.
We have achieved something
no one can ever take away.
Each day we set ourselves
little goals to achieve
and when we have done them,
we move on to another one.

What Are My Goals?
What are my goals?
You mean...
Like those 'things' I wish to accomplish?
'Yes.
You must have made some by now.'
Well...
The ones I made yesterday,
I've already met.
I did make some this afternoon.
But they've been achieved,
To allow me to rest.
And those I've made for tomorrow...
I am putting now to the test.
'Okay so your goals are...
Can you be more specific,
Than that? '
I'm doing the best I can.
And 'if' I get too specific...
They've would have changed,
Before I can get the word 'completed'...
Out of my mouth.
I know this may be an inconvenience,
But...
Is it possible you could come back,
In a few weeks.
By then I should have a list,
Of my more recent goals accomplished for you.
It's too difficult for me to set goals.
I hate to discuss the process.
That's too time consuming.
I'd rather do and let it be.
You understand that don't you?
Of course you do.
I see it in your eyes!

You Inspire
(09/07/11)
It was the dawn of a new day
The bright orange sun was shining my way.
The sky was a beautiful light blue
The only thing missing “ was you”.
My day cannot begin if you’re not there
That beautiful smile with me you share.
So many things in my life that you inspire
And made me set my goals even higher.
You told me that there is nothing in life
That I can’t do- set your goals and follow thru.
Because of you all my goals except for one
Has been met.
Winning your heart I still must get.

Set priorities for your goals. A major part of successful living lies in the ability to put first things first. Indeed, the reason most major goals are not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first.

Goals
Goals are something we set ourselves,
for everything we want to achieve.
We set them higher than we can reach,
so they become unattainable sometimes.
This is to make ourselves try harder,
to reach the goals we seek.

Know Your Dreams
Claim you will not maim,
Those goals you have named to achieve.
No matter if your shoulders hold a heavy load...
Keep your motor fueled.
Don't be fooled by losers.
Wishing to melt away your 'cool'.
Keep that heat you've got,
Turned up and piping hot!
Don't let that boat you row spring a leak.
Or be stopped by a rocking that shocks...
Your eyes,
Away from the prize.
Keep alive,
Those dreams not meant to idle.
Claim,
You will not maim...
Those goals you have named to achieve,
Accomplish and to realize.
Keep alive your eyes and kept on the prize.
Know your dreams,
Are not meant just to idle.
Keep that heat you've got,
Turned up and piping hot!
And know your dreams,
Are not meant just to idle.
Keep alive your eyes and kept on the prize.
Know your dreams,
Can be achieved and realized.
Keep that heat you've got,
Turned up and piping hot!
And know your dreams,
Are not meant just to idle.
Keep alive your eyes and kept on the prize.
Know your dreams,
Can be achieved and realized.
They're not just yours,
To sit around and idle.

Determined Mind
Goals are something we set ourselves,
each and everyday.
Sometimes we reach them,
other times we won’t.
The ones that seem impossible
we will reach them one day.
For nothing is impossible
no matter how much
we tell ourselves it is so.
With a little determination,
we will reach those goals,
no matter how high.
We will make them possible
the harder we try.
Someone once said
man would never fly.
The proof is in the pudding,
just look up in the sky.
And why did it happen?
It happened through the thought
of a determined mind.

Dream small dreams. If you make them too big, you get overwhelmed and you don't do anything. If you make small goals and accomplish them, it gives you the confidence to go on to higher goals.

Looking From Side To Side
Some take forward steps,
Just to impress.
With a looking from side to side.
Others take forward steps,
To accomplish and succeed...
What some believed they could not do.
And the ones who take forward steps,
To accomplish with the getting of something done...
Have set their sights on heights much higher.
While those who sought with a seeking to impress,
Have discovered they have set no other goals to address.
And exclaim to others they have become bored to death.
The lack of their motivation begins to shows.
Especially when their interests in just getting the attention...
Goes.

No Matter Who
Well its a long, long road when youre out there alone,
No matter what side youre on,
But theres a heart of gold behind the smile
And it brought me to where I belong.
cos Id set my sights on finding you
And Im staying forever, you know its true
Yes Id set my sights on finding you
Dont be lonely tonight, we can make it alright
No matter what you say,
No matter who you are,
Love always finds a way
Finds a way to your heart.
Well its a cold lonely road, but you can survive
No matter which way you choose,
And as long as theres life behind these eyes
Im here with you, win or lose.
If you let your light shine on through
Someone will come round to pull you through,
Yes just let your light shine on through,
Dont be lonely tonight, you can make it alright.
Just hold my hand,
Come with me a while, Ill make you smile.
Just hold my hand
Theres someone who loves you, its me, oh its me.
No matter what you say,
No matter who you are,
Love always finds a way
Finds a way to your heart.
Its alright that you cry if youre lonely sometime,
No matter whos by your side,
cos the love that you look for is inside us all,
But its something you have to find
And Id set my sights on finding you
And Im staying forever, you know its true.
Yes Id set all my sights on findingyou
Dont be lonely tonight, we can make it alright.
No matter what you say,
No matter who you are,
Love always finds a way
Finds a way to your heart.

Zen Creatures
humans think
they are of
a higher realm
when the trees
in their quiet
throw a challenge
as to who
have achieved
higher consciousness
the trees
meditate
all ovr the mountains
a glorious sight
a sacredness
you cannot miss
zen creatures
cared for
staying so still
now they -
self conceited humans
are laughing about how
the trees could be of
a higher realm
when they can be
chopped down at will
yet at their last moment
the trees stand
in all their glory
teaching men zen
taking death
as it comes
as they have taken - life
thinking nothingness
zen creatures
a higher realm
they belong
see how they reach up to god

As for goals, I don't set myself those anymore. I'm not one of these 'I must have achieved this and that by next year' kind of writers. I take things as they come and find that patience and persistence tend to win out in the end.
We never had planned to hijack a ship. We never thought of any war plans outside the Palestinian lands. We wished that the program had not failed and then the warriors could have achieved their goals.
The cooperation of government at its different levels is important and can only be achieved as long as the people of Chicago are directly involved in our efforts and supportive of our goals.

Leadership is not magnetic personality--that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not 'making friends and influencing people'--that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.
