We have had more sales for this year's grand prix than any other, and we have been helped in that by the fact that Jenson had 10 podiums last season and looks like a winner. It is good for British motor racing if he is there and doing well.

Driving To Work (Revised)
Took a scenic route to look at jacarandas
in bloom - sadly their purple was stripped
by last night's rain, stuck behind a slow-
moving police van, no chance to play Grand
Prix again
Next time I'll keep to the highway, people
claim they see deer and giraffes in the
sanctuary next to the road, I would love
to see any but am always racing - it'd be
so such fun
Currently I have to watch other cars with
a hawk's eye after a crash yesterday, two
drivers not looking at a roundabout went
for the same spot, now I glare at drivers
with laser eyes
To make sure they are clear before I drive
off; I love my little Suzuki too much to take
any unwarranted risks' - speeding only on a
straight stretch of road is allowed in my
history book

I go to see grand prix every year, and I watch every race on TV for sure. I probably go to three or four CART races and three or four Formula One races.

The Race Of Standing Still
I'm racing racing towards it
Like when I was a small boy
Cutting through a waving field
Decorated by summer sunlight
Unable to remember
Unable to forget
Unable yet at peace
Unable yet scared
I'm racing racing towards it with fear and excitement
They seem unseperable
They seem so far apart
They are my close friends
They are my very ghosts
I'm racing towards it
Holding perfectly still
In the race of standing still

High School Heart
(jerry laseter/kerry kurt phippips)
That ol drive-in is a parking lot
They made a shopping mall out of our make-out spot
The oldies station plays all those songs
We used to sing
And even though that ol high schools gone
It started somethin thats still goin strong
I swear sometimes I can hear that ol bell sing
cause you still slide in close to me
Just like you did in my ol grand prix
You still get a little jealous
If I speak to jenny barnes
That yearbook smile still drives me mad
With all thats changed, Im so glad
Youre still lovin me
With that some ol high school heart
Id take off runnin to mrs. walkers class
Lipstick on my cheek and a note in my hand
Im still runnin late cause I still cant pull away
From your lovin arms
Every time we touch, you make it feel brand new
I guess thats why Im still fallin for you
Youre still lovin me
With that same ol high school heart
cause you still slide in close to me
Just like you did in my ol grand prix
You still get a little jealous
If I speak to jenny barnes
That yearbook smile still drives me mad
With all thats changed, Im so glad
Youre still lovin me
With that some ol high school heart
Youre still lovin me
With that some ol high school heart

My grand dad
I remember you grand dad
Back since I was only three
I remember you granddad
How much you adored me
I remember you grand dad
How you made me smile
I remember you grand dad
You made my toddler years worthwhile
I remember you grand dad
Your lovely smell of tobacco
I remember you grand dad
The love for others you would show
I remember you grand dad
When I came to see you, you would give me a jellybean
I remember you grand dad
You always made me feel like a queen
I remember you grand dad
And I miss you everyday
A Dead End
When racing motorbikes
around the Isle of Man
one must be aware
of deadly hairpin corners...
one does not see
until it is too late
to avoid or escape
a life racing out of line.
Many a great rider
has died an early death
racing rained, washed out, corners
‘the (sudden) dead don’t see’...
when never
going fast enough
until they have to stop
dead quick.
Attempting to get
a winner’s medal...
when racing the unforgiving
prestigious Isle of Man.

The Intimidator
He knew when he was a boy
that racing was his game
As he got better in his car
They knew he wouldn't be easy to tame
As his racing years went on
he became to many The Intimidator
In the hearts of many and his son
he soon became their main mentor
He is known today as a racing legend
because of his style and races won
We will all remember that fateful day
The Daytona 500, February 18,2001
His name is Dale Earnhardt
and if you ever saw him race
the one thing we will all remember
is his intimidating face

It's Grand
It's grand to be a squatter
And sit upon a post,
And watch your little ewes and lambs
A-giving up the ghost.
It's grand to be a "cockie"
With wife and kids to keep,
And find an all-wise Providence
Has mustered all your sheep.
It's grand to be a Western man,
With shovel in your hand,
To dig your little homestead out
From underneath the sand.
It's grand to be a shearer
Along the Darling-side,
And pluck the wool from stinking sheep
That some days since have died.
It's grand to be a rabbit
And breed till all is blue,
And then to die in heaps because
There's nothing left to chew.
It's grand to be a Minister
And travel like a swell,
And tell the Central District folk
To go to -- Inverell.
It's grand to be a socialist
And lead the bold array
That marches to prosperity
At seven bob a day.
It's grand to be unemployed
And lie in the Domain,
And wake up every second day --
And go to sleep again.
It's grand to borrow English tin
To pay for wharves and docks
And then to find it isn't in
The little money-box.
It's grand to be a democrat
And toady to the mob,
For fear that if you told the truth
They'd hunt you from your job.
It's grand to be a lot of things
In this fair Southern land,
But if the Lord would send us rain,
That would, indeed, be grand!

At the British motor show
At the British motor show
in London
I do not know what
caught my eye first
between the red sign
triangulating down stating:
“Join Vodafone today
for your chance
to win this Maserati Spyder
worth 74000 pounds sterling, ”
or the blonde girl dressed in red
in front of it
with a red Ferrari T-shirt
accentuating her breasts
and red plastic close fitting pants
stretching much too sensual at places
standing next to a blood red Ferrari
Grand Prix car with Bridgestone,
Shell, Vodafone and Olympus stickers
plastered all over it
with one hand on her hip
and the other down
at her side
and red polished nails gleaming
just as bright as her smile
and I would have seen her
by a mile.

Grand Illusion
I saw you in a dream, it hit me like a bright light
Flashing on a screen, visions of my whole life.
I used to chase the moment of desire
Back to when my young heart burned like a fire.
It was just a, nothing but a grand illusion.
Heart was quicker than the eye.
Nothing but a grand illusion,
Legend in my own mind.
I held you in my arms till the other side of midnight.
Kept you in my mind, you got me through some long nights.
Standing on the threshold of desire,
Caught between the madness and the fire.
Chorus
It was all a grand illusion.
Hand was quicker than the eye.
Nothing but a grand illusion,
Legends in our own minds.
I used to chase the moments of desire
Back to when my young heart burned like a fire.
It was just a, nothing but a, it was all a grand illusion.
Nothing but a grand illusion.
It was all a grand illusion,
Legend in my own mind.
It was just a grand illusion.
Nothing but a grand illusion.
It was just a grand illusion,
Legend in our own mind.

First Encounter - Jean Todt
another kind
old gweilo
Jean Todt
thank god
he doesn't talk fast
as the Grand Prix cars
I met him and the Malaysian Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Ng Yen Yen
at a dinner the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur in June when Todt was chosen as a tourism ambassador of Malaysia to help promote the country particularly in France and Europe. Todt came across as a very friendly man. He was very obliging in his conversation
answering one reporter at a time. He told us that he loves Mechelle Yeoh and Malaysia. Todt is the founder of Peugeot Talbot Sport; Team Principal for Scuderia Ferrari,1993-2007 and was the CEO of Ferrari from 2008-2009.

Long Walk
I need a long walk, with someone who knows what to do
I need a long talk, I need a helping hand to pull me through
I need a tall drink, with somebody who cares, I need someone here for company
Its time to rethink and somehow find a way to put an end to this mystery
See I dont know, the pain wont go
And the hurt inside is getting so damn hard to hide
So now I pay the price, I wonder how much its gonna take
Ive gotta roll the dice, and try to take all this heartache
But I still dont know, the pain wont go
And the hurt inside is getting so damn hard to hide
I gotta work it out, cause my heart is still racing, racing away
Work it out, cause my heart is still breaking, hey
So now Ill take this long walk, I dont want anybody listenin
cause I really wanna pour it out, and all went out without ever giving in
But I still dont know, the pain wont go
Im still hurting inside and its so damn hard to hide
You gotta help me work it out, cause my heart is still racing, racing away
Work it out, cause my heart, my heart is breaking away
Ive gotta work this out, cause my heart is still racing away
Yeah, work it out, cause my heart, its so much a part of me
Work it out - gotta work it out
My heart is still racing - and Im wasting away
Work it out - Ive gotta work it out...

Unharnessed
Oh how my mind
keeps racing to you,
no matter what I seem to do.
It stops me dead
right in my tracks.
This is how my mind
reacts- to you.
My thoughts are drifting
just like me,
aimlessly like a log
on the sea.
No destination in my sight,
just endless blue
that keeps my mind unharnessed
and racing back to you.
