I guess it is the sense of personal satisfaction that racing gives you that I am probably going to miss, because in racing you get that feedback very quickly.

The Race Of Standing Still

I'm racing racing towards it
Like when I was a small boy
Cutting through a waving field
Decorated by summer sunlight
Unable to remember
Unable to forget
Unable yet at peace
Unable yet scared
I'm racing racing towards it with fear and excitement
They seem unseperable
They seem so far apart
They are my close friends
They are my very ghosts
I'm racing towards it
Holding perfectly still
In the race of standing still

A Dead End

When racing motorbikes
around the Isle of Man
one must be aware
of deadly hairpin corners...

one does not see
until it is too late
to avoid or escape
a life racing out of line.

Many a great rider
has died an early death
racing rained, washed out, corners
‘the (sudden) dead don’t see’...

when never
going fast enough
until they have to stop
dead quick.

Attempting to get
a winner’s medal...

when racing the unforgiving
prestigious Isle of Man.

Road racing at the moment because it's still so new to me. I like the fact that they are longer and teamwork is important. I guess the same is true for track, it's just that I have used track this year as a training device to improve my sprinting in road racing.

The Intimidator

He knew when he was a boy
that racing was his game
As he got better in his car
They knew he wouldn't be easy to tame

As his racing years went on
he became to many The Intimidator
In the hearts of many and his son
he soon became their main mentor

He is known today as a racing legend
because of his style and races won
We will all remember that fateful day
The Daytona 500, February 18,2001

His name is Dale Earnhardt
and if you ever saw him race
the one thing we will all remember
is his intimidating face

Miss The Lights

(intro) walking tall, full of tedious charm,
The smoothest (? ? ? ) in (? ? ? )
The mission boys all cross their palms
Dont you know who I am
I guess you miss the lights? huh!
I guess you miss the fame
I guess you miss everybody
Hanging onto your name
Little caesar is prince of the city
? ? ?
In this town theres no pity
This man stands alone
I guess you miss the lights - ha!
I guess you miss the fame
I guess you miss everybody
Hanging onto your name
Sometimes when youre all alone
And the blue turns to gray
Better get down on those pinky knees,
And you start to pray
I guess you miss the lights - ha!
I guess you miss the fame
I guess you miss everybody
Kiss-kissing your name
(instrumental)
A glimmering ? , a twilight star
And so much love for show,
A returning wave from the gallery bar
And share the afterglow
I guess you miss the lights
I guess you miss the fame
I guess you miss everybody
Hanging onto your name
Ha!
I guess you miss the lights
I guess you miss the fame, haha!
I guess you miss everybody
Hanging onto your name
(fade out music and chorus)
I guess you miss the lights
I guess you miss everybody
Kiss-kissing your name

White Russian

(fish, steve rothery, mark kelly, pete trewavas, ian mosley)
Where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
They boarded up the synagogues uzis on a street corner
You can't take a photograph of uzis on a street corner
The dj resigned today they wouldn't let him have his say
Surface scratched where the needles play, uzis on a street corner
Where do we go from here
Terror in rue de st. denis, murder on the periphery
Someone else in someone else's pocket, christ knows i don't know how to stop it
Poppies at the cenotaph, the cynics can't afford to laugh
I heard in on the telegraph there's uzis on a street corner
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
The more i see, the more i hear, the more i find fewer answers
I close my mind, i shout it out but you know it's getting harder
To me calm down, to reason out, to come to terms with what it's all about
I'm uptight, can't sleep at night, i can't pretend everything's alright
My ideals, my sanity, they seem to be deserting me
But to stand up and fight i know we have six million reasons
They're burning down the synagogues uzis on a street corner
The heralds of the holocaust uzis on a street corner
The silence never louder than now, how quickly we forgot our vows
This resurrection we can't allow, uzis on a street corner
Where do we go from here, where do we go from here
We buy fresh bagels from the corner store
Where swastikas are spat from aerosols
I sit in the bar sipping iced white russian
Trying to score but nobody's pushing
And everyone looks at everyone's faces
Searching for signs and praying for traces of a conscience in residence
Are we sitting on a barbed wire fence
Racing the clouds home, racing the clouds home
We place our faith in human rights
In the paper wars that tie the red tape tight
I know that i would rather be out of this conspiracy
In the gulags and internment camps frozen faces in nameless ranks
I know that they would rather be standing here beside me
Racing the clouds home, racing the clouds home
You can shut your eyes, you can hide it away it's gonna come back another day
Racing the clouds home, are we racing the clouds home
Racing the clouds home

Long Walk

I need a long walk, with someone who knows what to do
I need a long talk, I need a helping hand to pull me through
I need a tall drink, with somebody who cares, I need someone here for company
Its time to rethink and somehow find a way to put an end to this mystery
See I dont know, the pain wont go
And the hurt inside is getting so damn hard to hide
So now I pay the price, I wonder how much its gonna take
Ive gotta roll the dice, and try to take all this heartache
But I still dont know, the pain wont go
And the hurt inside is getting so damn hard to hide
I gotta work it out, cause my heart is still racing, racing away
Work it out, cause my heart is still breaking, hey
So now Ill take this long walk, I dont want anybody listenin
cause I really wanna pour it out, and all went out without ever giving in
But I still dont know, the pain wont go
Im still hurting inside and its so damn hard to hide
You gotta help me work it out, cause my heart is still racing, racing away
Work it out, cause my heart, my heart is breaking away
Ive gotta work this out, cause my heart is still racing away
Yeah, work it out, cause my heart, its so much a part of me
Work it out - gotta work it out
My heart is still racing - and Im wasting away
Work it out - Ive gotta work it out...

Unharnessed

Oh how my mind
keeps racing to you,
no matter what I seem to do.
It stops me dead
right in my tracks.
This is how my mind
reacts- to you.

My thoughts are drifting
just like me,
aimlessly like a log
on the sea.
No destination in my sight,
just endless blue
that keeps my mind unharnessed
and racing back to you.

Bad guys win

Intent on leaving.
A world full of pain.
Where death is the release.
Where ashes remain.

She'll put the gun.
Up to her head.
Her heart beat racing.
She'll soon be dead.

Pulling the trigger.
She'll quickly die.
With her last words.
She'll say goodbye.

No one will miss her.
That's her favourite tale.
The unpleasent truth.
Of her epic fail.

Nothing matters.
When you've given in.
Ommited to the darkness.
Of the bad guys win.

Blance, where were you...?

Blance, where were you when I was still alive?
come just to think of it, life was a game;
Recall we were racing on Storrow Drive.

Black vanishing plummet, Oettinger strive
race on marginal speed is not to blame
Blance where were you when I was still alive?

Wolf-colder bite November frost to skive;
Vain was this agon for, distance to tame;
Recall we were racing on Storrow Drive.

Breathless our life was at twenty-five,
live dangerous, on road, afore to aim,
Blance where were you when I was still alive?

Selected Nymph, one promise to derive;
She was a softer misty form, my dame;
Recall we were racing on Storrow Drive.

Apotheotic nacreous form, swan dive;
November of anamnesis, became,
Blance where were you when I was still alive?
Recall we were racing on Storrow Drive.

On The Death Of Peter Hayes

You won't find any life around where his remains will lay
And words of praise won't bring him back his soul has gone away
And though he died young at fifty one suppose he had his day
And for flying in fast planes you might say there is a price to pay.

This morning I heard in the news how Peter Hayes did die
The light plane he and his mate David Noble were in just dropped out of the sky
Near Mildura in Victoria their end came suddenly
A cruel blow to the Horse Racing World and the Hayes family.

A brother to Hong Kong's leading trainer David and the late Colin Hayes eldest son
So much success in horse racing the Hayes family have won
Peter was Victoria's and South Australia's leading trainer and his passing leaves a void
In Horse Racing a household name he was known far and wide.

The Horse Racing World is in shock at the news of the death of Peter Hayes
And though the horse racing writers write the eulogies and heap upon him praise
You won't find any signs of life where his remains will lay
A shy and unconceited man his soul has gone away.

Goodbye Charlton Heston

Goodbye Charlton Heston

I shall miss your acting skills
Your epic movies and the thrills.

You may have been too fond of the gun
Or did it protect your place in the sun?
Surrender it now, this race is run!

To many you are the eternal charioteer
Now you're racing to a new frontier!

I know the Girls will miss you here.

Faster to Get to Madness

Racing to see who is faster to get to madness.
And I sit back and watch this...
Amused that those who are doing it,
Have no clue each will cross the finish line!
And when one is losing their mind...
What difference does it make,
How quickly that is done?

When You Race Against Time

Winning is always an OPTION
An opinion of matter, synchronized illusion
You believe you will get there brining fantasy to fruition
But you lose yourself in the race watching time fly
Reminiscing upon moments when u had time insight
Having a disambiguation of how your life would be but you took it for granted
Now you are racing against time all in regret

Trying to find pieces of the puzzle you lost
Procrastinating on what needs to be done presently
The past has consumed your abilities of engineering your future
Stagnant in your step time moves with nature
That’s what happens when you race against time, trying to rectify past failures
Now you are racing against time when once you had it in leisure

Time waits for no man
Yet man always feel the need to make time
Sensational thoughts met by factual of not getting time back
And only what happens afore is remaining time
Reality in mental amidst as u realize
How you easily took time in compromise
Now you are racing against time in fairytale fantasize

Song for Roxalie and Seth (Running)

running away
that's all I ever do
though I never thought
that I'd ever be running from you

shadows fall
across my soul, across my face
I wish that I could just come back
and take my rightful place

but my heart is racing, blood is pumping
can't believe I'm always running
away from my tears
because I never knew
my thoughts are whirling, head is spinning
can't believe I'm just beginning
to realize all you mean to me
when you're around my skies are blue

dreaming
that's all I ever do
but I never thought
that I'd have to just dream about being with you

pain is lurking
behind every twist and turn
but even after all I've been through
I guess I just never learn

now my heart is racing, blood is pumping
can't believe I'm always running
away from my tears
because I never knew
my thoughts are whirling, head is spinning
can't believe I'm just beginning
to realize all you mean to me
when you're around my skies are blue

please come back, we'll make this right
just take away this endless night
there's no reason to add up the score
we were both wrong, I admit
I don't blame you for calling it quits
but baby I'm not running anymore

now my heart is racing, blood is pumping
can't believe I'm always running
away from my tears
because I never knew
my thoughts are whirling, head is spinning
can't believe I'm just beginning
to realize all you mean to me
when you're around my skies are blue

please say I can always come home
to you

Eastbrook

Though his racing days are over
on the marsh he'll gently graze
where he'll spend his last remaining years
sharing all his days
with herons, skylarks, ducks and geese
from a racing life to utter peace

Small children come and feed him hay
and Suzy grooms him every day
a soft brown horse with gentle eyes
resting underneath the skies
that follow the marsh down to the sea
retirement, peace, tranquility

Muhammad Ali

Once we realize we are all members of humanity, we will want to compete in the spirit of love. In a competition of love we would not be running against one another, but with one another. We would be trying to gain victory for all humanity. If I am a faster runner than you, you may feel bad seeing me pass you in the race, but if you know that we are both racing to make our world better, you will feel good knowing that we are racing toward a common goal, a mutual reward. In a competition of love we'll all share in the victory, no matter who comes first.
