We always had chocolates and my mother was careful to make sure they were unwrapped in advance so the paper wouldn't rustle in the middle of a performance.

The Poet Tree
Rustle, little leaves above, rustle in the breeze...
Rustle, little leaves of love, rustle mid God's peace!
Rustle, every night and day, rustle every hour...
Rustle, rustle, come what may, rustle mid God's power!
Rustle, for then wise words are formed,
Great expectations made!
Through such as these, men's hearts are warmed
And children's prayers are prayed!
Rustle upon the Poet Tree,
Above the poets' ears,
So they may learn each melody,
These God-picked volunteers...
Rustle sweetly, and gently on,
Persist from age to age -
Let all God's poets write upon
Their separate nearby page...
Rustle until all humans die
And no more poets live!
Until no soul would question, 'Why? '
And there's no cause to give!
Rustle until God tells you stop,
'Dear friends, at last, be free...
'Tis time for you to fall, to drop...
Beneath the Poet Tree...
I've loved each poem, every one...
And Jesus loved them, too!
You've blessed the world! Your task is done!
Your rustle days are through...'

A Poem For My Mother
I need a mother who loves me, who understands me and is there for me
A shoulder to cry on, someone to rely on
But now I am older I can see you will never be
the things I need you to be.
a mother wouldn’t make you cry
a mother would never say good bye
a mother would never cause you so much pain
or call you all those horrible names
a mother wouldn’t tell you they want to die
a mother would never to try to control
a mother would give you all her heart and soul
Everyday I always try to keep all these thoughts and feelings at bay
but it has come to a point where I have to have my say
I needed a mother who would never close the door, but now that you have I realise that me and you are no more.
I live with the hope that one day you will see, how much hurt your words and actions over the years have caused me.

A Daughter's Wish
I wish I had a mother,
That would love me the way she should.
I wish I had a mother,
To accept me for who I am.
I wish I had a mother,
Who wouldn’t belittle me the way she does.
I wish I had a mother,
Who would trust me some of the time.
I wish I had a mother,
That would listen to me when I’m in pain.
I wish I had a mother,
Who would trust me just abit.
I wish I had a mother,
Who would help me when I asked.
I wish I had a mother,
Who didn’t criticize me the way she does.
I wish I had a mother,
Who would understand the pain she’s caused
I wish I had a mother,
Who didn’t have to be right all the time.
I wish I had a mother,
Who would see the good that I’ve done.
I wish I had a mother,
Who wouldn’t make me beg for her love.

Fast thoughts
Siren
Rumble of traffic
Rustle of wind
Singing of birds
Noise of the tv
Cracking and creaking of conservatory
Own soft breathing
Tapping of pen
Rattle of paper
Thoughts
What will this time bring?
What is the phone rings?
Why can't I rid of this hung-over feeling?
What are they doing
And what is he thinking?
Should I feel guilty for sitting and sinking?
Should I be working?
For test that are lurking
What should I wear for work when I'm flirting?
Should I be flirting?
Working my shirt
And being their shine when I know that they hurt?
The sight of my phone
The look of my nails
The book in the background
The newspaper tails
The siren inside
The rumble of words
The rustle of fear
The screaming of thoughts
The need to be free
The cracking and tapping of anxiety
Own soft breathing
Tapping of pen
Rustle of paper
Thoughts
Feeling unhealthy
Fearing the stealthy
Working right now
To one day be wealthy
Making a million
Or giving up bread
The siren of nothing
So loud in my head
Should I get up
And make myself stand?
Make use of this book
This pen in my hand?
Instead I will sit
For a minute of two
And be glad that one day
I'll have nothing to do.

sweet chocolates
who will ever resist
sweet chocolates
we take with
our bare fingers
handing these
chocolates inside
our mouths melting
sweetly these
chocolates in
our tongues
putting heaven
sweet chocolate
so sweet inside
our mouths
playing with
our tongues
guilt food and
sin how do you
really love the
sweetness inside
our mouths
melting with
our tongues
these sweet
chocolates of
hidden sins
burning our souls.....

Mummy News Cries
Mummy don't leave me today.
Mummy he hurts me again and again
Mummy I'm sorry I upset you
Mummy of course I'll go again.
News in the paper of a little girls death
News in the paper of the abuse
News in the paper of a grieving mother
News in the paper of a life gone too soon.
Cries the mother who didn't heed the cry
Cries the mother who failed to hear
Cries the mother who sent her there
Cries the mother for her dead child.

Attached To Happy
I've got my heart unwrapped from being sad...
And,
I'm Happy!
I've got my heart unwrapped from being sad...
And,
I'm Happy!
You've got to notice cause my motive is to flaunt it too.
After all the nonsense I've been through!
I've got my heart unwrapped from being sad,
And...
I am,
Happy!
I've got my heart unwrapped from being sad,
And...
I am,
Happy!
I hope it shows,
That I'm happy.
This side of ecstatic,
Keeps me happy.
I hope it shows,
That I'm happy.
This side of ecstatic,
Keeps me happy.
I've got my heart unwrapped from being sad,
And...
I am,
Happy!
I've got my heart unwrapped from being sad,
And...
I am,
Happy!
I've got my heart unwrapped,
And I'm happy!
With a glad I grabbed it back!
I've got my heart unwrapped,
And I'm happy!
With a glad I grabbed it back!
I've got my heart unwrapped,
And I'm happy!
I've got my heart unwrapped,
And I'm happy!
I've got my heart unwrapped,
And I'm happy!
With a glad I grabbed it back!
I'm glad I grabbed it back!
Attached to happy.
And I'm glad I grabbed it back!
Attached to happy.
So glad I grabbed it back!
Attached to happy.
I'm glad I grabbed it back!

Chocolate!
Chocolates, Chocolates, Chocolates,
Milk- chocolate, Mint-chocolate and semi-sweet,
Yummy dark chocolate is such a treat.
Chocolate yoghurt, sauce and chips,
And the chocolate dips,
One can have lot of sips.
Some are hard, some are smooth,
But at times give you saw-tooth,
Chocolate-shake, Hot chocolate are some drinks,
Which makes you wink.
Chocolate to express your love,
Which makes you feel above,
Chocolate to say sorry,
And then no worry.
So is chocolate healthy?
Or is just a mystery?
Or is chocolate a delight?
But, chocolates are just so right.

A sensual scribble
I was the scribe who woke up at dawn
Finding a clean sheet of paper
And this glossy sort of ballpoint pen
Having the urge to write
Something sensual
My fingers spread the paper
On this table
Where there is so much disorder
Some paper clips and
Floppy discs scattered
Scotch tapes and mail openers
And some still unopened mails
That I did not mind
Not my priority
I was into something sensual
On this clean sheet of paper
On an urge to write
Grabbed this glossy sort of ballpoint pen
And start scribbling
Some lovely head notes
“My dear darling”
Careful strokes in curves
Sliding on paper
My fingers are wildly
Caressing to the shapes of
Sensual letters and words
And breathtaking sentences
“You know that you make me
Hot and you make me wild
And I always remember you”
And I am at the middle
Of so much longing
Using such letters
U and I
And w and e
Lots of ohs and ahs
And s and e and x
L and o and v and e
To make sense
Without pretense
Some exclamations
And pauses of commas and
Semicolons spread on some
Corners of this paper
With so much
Unstoppable anticipation
Somewhere in the center
I pierced this paper
With this glossy ballpoint pen
Writing something
Emphatic
Clinching
And I was at the height
Of my desiring and
So much liking
Something ecstatic
And calming
At the end
It was a beautiful piece
Of a scribble
Written at dawn
And I wrote at the end part there
“With all my love I remain
Your faithful slave”
And a postscript at the tip
Of my tongue
Written with a nip
“When will I see you again? ”
The letter shall be mailed at once
She will understand that pierce
Somewhere at the center something
That was ecstatic and she will remember
Every letter every word was an ember embedded.

And then the paper is dirty
You start with a clean sheet of paper
Write some words, scribble, draw some lines
Some curves, sharp lines, tangent to bold
Lines, and rough sketches of faces and
Bodies, thin lines that get crooked from
End to end of this limited space,
You doodle, you get wild with so
Many lines unimaginable, senseless,
The paper finally looks dirty,
And you do not like it, you crumple
It and throw it in a waste basket,
You get another clean sheet,
And this time, you think what is
It really that you want to make
Out of this new clean sheet of paper.
You think, you ponder, and you need
More time this time not to waste
This clean, glossy sheet of paper.
I think you are doing well with your life.
You see you are supposed to be careful
Every word is delicate and every paper
Is actually accounted.
Never mind guilt, set it aside for a while.

Recent instructions from Noel
Always make your future bigger than your past
Always make your contribution bigger than your reward
Always make your performance greater than the applause
Always make your gratitude greater than you success
On the premise:
That there is a future
That there is a contribution
That there is performance
That there is gratitude
There is no future, no contribution, no performance, no gratitude
The past shall be erased, the reward does not matter
The applause unnecessary and the success a surplusage
I do not need a reward, an applause,
And I do not need any success
Finding a soul in paper clip
Finding a frog croaking in my throat
There is simply no brain on this bond paper
Air in a vacuum
A grand future in today’s little happy faces
A red rose tattoo inside my ailing heart
The best talk in my silence as mute as
A dead ant that cannot climb
The coconut tree
Of the elephant in my palm
Or that little bird in my hand
And we were guessing
Whether it is alive or dead
The little child always laughs at everything
And we simply do not know
His logic
We forget once our childlikeness
We simply forget
The reason of the heart
It is simple
There is no future in my books
There is only today
God bless you, Noel
I always Live for today
The moment
The second
I always see my life in the fresh leaves of lettuce
My future in that in the red rose dewy in the flower vase of transparent glass
And what IS that?
Yes, eternity in the grain of sand
Today in the glowing dew.

If You Wouldn't Be My Lady
Take away the song a songbird sings
Take away the sound that laughter brings
Take the music from a melody
Never take your love away from me
You make me smile
You make darkness turn into warm sunshine
You give me love
The Lord above knows
I wouldn't know what to do if you wouldn't be my lady
I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't here today
I wouldn't know what to do if you wouldn't be my lady
I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't here to stay
Take away the gentle summer breeze
Take away the golden autumn leaves
I can live without blue skies above
But I could never live without your love
You give me life
You make bad times turn into the good times
You give me love
The Lord above knows
I wouldn't know what to do if you wouldn't be my lady
I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't here to stay
I wouldn't know what to do if you wouldn't be my lady
I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't here to stay
I wouldn't know what to do if you wouldn't be my lady
I wouldn't know what to do if you weren't here today
I wouldn't know what to do if you wouldn't be my lady

Writing A Valentine Comp Poem
Many years ago, I wrote a Valentine poem (the year was 1992)
for a competition on the local radio.
The first one I wrote seemed to me OK,
and then my wife told me that it was too long.
Out came the pen and paper
and I sat down and wrote another one.
I sent it in and lo and behold
it was read out on the radio
and neither of us heard it.
We did not even know
that it had been aired
until a box of heart shaped chocolates
came landing on our door.
Being such a kind person,
I’m going to share the poems with you.
They are called appropriately
Valentine Comp Poem 1 and 2.
Read and enjoy what this silly sod
would do to win a box of chocolates
for his love so true.

What a mother should be
A mother is the one who loves you
A mother puts no drug above you
A mother will never make you cry
A mother will never make you want to die
A mother will help you fight your fears
A mother will help you stop your tears
A mother will keep you safe and sound
A mother will never let you down
A mother will daily say I love you
A mother won’t say I hate you
A mother won’t wish you were dead
A mother won’t forget what you said
A mother won’t close the door
A mother won’t let you be poor
Now I ask you, do you have a mother?
Cause’ I don’t, so don’t bother.

Mother Mother Mother
How you cared for us. Don't keep away from us.I won't surive without you/ Mother Mother Mother Your eyes show me the way. When I fall on my way. You lend me a hand to carry on. Mother Mother Mother You had a very hard life. But you gave your baby your own bread from your own mouth. When she feels hungry. Mother Mother Mother If I pass though this word. I wouldn't find you anywhere. Your sweet smile makes me happy. Mother Mother Mother My love for you will go on forever. I love you my Mother Mother Mother forever and ever. written 6/23/08 Posted 10/27/08 In the memory of my mother Esther Ferber Klayton

Careful In Career
Careful in career
Take care
I take care
Its a shame
To go away
Its a shame to go away
Its a shame
To die already
Looking at you
Looking in through at me
Pouring x years of life
Pouring in ecstasy
Performance or ecstasy
Im looking at you
Looking in through at me
Ive come so far already
Ive come so far already
So far
Ive come so far
Careful in career
Take care
I take care
I see the lodgers
They are walking
Hands over my eyes
I see you yawning
Shambling
Drugged up by the heat and so
Looking at you
Looking in through at me
Pouring x years of life
Pouring in ecstasy
In performance or in ecstasy
Im looking at you
Looking in through at me
Ive come so far already
Ive come so far already
Its a shame
Looking at you
Looking in through at me
All in ecstasy
Ive come so far already
All in ecstasy
Ive come so far already
All in ecstasy
Ive come so far already
Ive come so far
Ive come so far
Its a shame
Its a shame
Looking at you
Looking in through at me

Darling Mother! - By Kitty Cotton 10 Years Old.
A poem written by my great niece, Kitty Cotton, who is 10 years old, for her Mother on Mother’s Day.
Darling Mother,
You care and love me with all your soul,
You feed me even though I can be a messy pup!
I love you so much,
Your love and sympathy is all I ask for.
But on that special day I’m going to give you
something.
No, not chocolates or flowers,
No, not make-up and bag,
Something more important, something you gave me
and I’m giving back.
It is my love and sympathy.
Love you lots
Tuns of love, your daughter

Paper Moon
I never feel a thing is real when I'm away from you
Out of your embrace the world's a temporary parking place
umm A bubble for a minute
umm you smile
the bubble has a rainbow in it
Say it's only a paper moon
sailing over a cardboard sea
but it wouldn't be make believe if you believed in me
Yes it's only a canvas sky
hanging over a muslin tree
but it wouldn't be make believe if you believed in me
with out your love
it's a honky tank parade
with out your love
it's a melody played in a penny arcade
It's a Barnum and Bailey world
just as phony as it can be
but it wouldn't be make believe if you believed in me
yes it's only a canvas sky
hanging over a muslin tree
but it wouldn't be make believe if you believed in me
with out your love
it's a honky tonk parade
with out your love
it's a melody played in a penny arcade
It's a Barnum and Bailey world
just as phony as it can be
but it wouldn't be make believe if you believed in me
