There be those who say that things and places have souls, and there be those who say they have not; I dare not say, myself, but I will tell of The Street.

I Dare You
God only knows how I've needed a friend
Who can see the boldness and pride
Someone strong enough I can put my faith in
Someone willing to let me inside
So be a man and be my man
First Chorus:
I dare you to need me
Like nobody else
I dare you to feel me
Like you've never felt
I dare you to want to want
To wanna be good to me
Baby you've got your reasons
Dangling from kite strings
But you can open your hands, let them fly
Oh I know you wont always say and do the right things
Oh but some things are worth a try
So if you can, be my man
Second Chorus:
I dare you to know me
Like I've never known
I dare you to show me
That I can be shown
Dare you to want to want
To wanna be good to me
Tell me I,
Tell me I'm the one who deserves you
Oh and every time, every time you know that you want to
I dare you
Third Chorus:
I dare you to hold me
Like you never will (again)
Kiss me and leave the world standing still
Dare you to want to want
(repeat first chorus)

I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS THAT MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE,
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WAKE THE THINGS THAT SLEEP INSIDE,
I ONLY WANNA SEE THE LIGHT THAT SHINES BEHIND YOUR EYES.
THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW,
AND THERE ARE MANY PLACES THAT I WISH TO GO,
BUT EVERYTHINGS DEPENDENT OF THE WAY THE WIND MAY BLOW
CUZ WE NEED EACH OTHER,
IF WE BELIVE IN ONE ANOTHER,
AND I KNOW WE'RE GONNA UNCOVER,
WHAT'S SLEEPIN IN OUR SOULS
CUZ WE NEED EACH OTHER,
IF WE BELIVE IN ONE ANOTHER,
AND I KNOW WE'RE GONNA UNCOVER,
WHAT'S SLEEPIN IN OUR SOULS
I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS THAT MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE,
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WAKE THE THINGS THAT SLEEP INSIDE,
I ONLY WANNA SEE THE LIGHT THAT SHINES BEHIND YOUR EYES.
THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW,

BUT EVERYTHINGS DEPENDENT OF THE WAY THE WIND MAY BLOW
CUZ WE NEED EACH OTHER,

WHAT'S SLEEPIN IN OUR SOULS
CUZ WE NEED EACH OTHER,
IF WE BELIVE IN ONE ANOTHER,
AND I KNOW WE'RE GONNA UNCOVER,
WHAT'S SLEEPIN IN OUR SOULS,
WHATS SLEEPIN IN OUR SOULS,
IT SLEEPS WITHIN OUR SOULS,
SLEPIN IN MY SOUL
BECAUSE WE NEED
YEAH WE NEED
BECASUE WE NEED
CUZ WE BELIEVE

Truth or Dare
The truth is I loved you, I dare you to remember
The truth is you hurt me, I dare you to share my pain
The truth is I wanted you back, I dare you to say the same
The truth is you never said sorry, l dare you to try
The truth is I protected you, I dare you to not run away
The truth is you squandered trust cheaply, I dare you to lay the first new stone
The truth is I did insane things, I dare you to stop the insanity
The truth is you lied for nothing that was real, I dare you to face the truth

Stranger On A Quiet Street
When all the thrills have been forgotten
The chill of night can call them home
And all the dreams that you left stranded
Will slowly start to come along
I felt it as she slipped away, slipped away
I didnt have the words to say
When I saw the stranger
A stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
You can go straight as an arrow
You can go straight as you dare
Walkin the old straight and narrow
Dont always get you there
The sun was shining when I saw it all
She was moving to a different beat
When I met a stranger
A stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
It came to me out of the blue, out of the blue
There came the moment that I really knew
When I met a stranger
A stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street, on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street
Stranger on a quiet street

The Same Street
Written by don gibson.
I still live on the same street, that we lived on.
The same old street, where memories were made on.
I shouldnt stay,why dont I go? .
Each day hurts a little more.
It wont be the same street anymore, since youve gone.
It wont be the same street anymore.
Each day I walk alone, where we once walked before.
See all familiar places, where we talked before.
But I cant run,from memories.
Theyre mine and they belong to me.
It wont be the same street anymore.since youve gone.
It wont be the same street anymore.

Dont Go Down That Street
Dont go down that street
In those shoes that squeak
cause I get afraid that you might not come home
Careful how you speak
When youre on the street
cause theyve broken down all the telephones
Dont go down that street, no no no
Dont go down that street, no no no
Dont go down that street
Dont go down that street
Where the brave boys meet
cause Im chicken feed when theyre on their own
Dont get in that car
Things might go too far
(line in japanese)
Dont go down that street, no no no
Dont go down that street, no no no
Dont go down that street
(japanese talkover by miko)
(ooh, ooh, aaah, aah)

Two Souls
Whatever happened to the value of our love
Ive seen you change
Ive seen it coming slowly, these changes
Youre not the same
Its not too late to start over
Its not too late to turn around
What are the things important to you?
Cant be the money
Well I got news for you
Two souls (should be two souls together)
Two souls (in the life that we planned)
But youre working obsession is squeezing me
Out of your world
Id rather live in a dolls house in a small street
Where it always rains
You kid yourself youre working all for me
But older kids play with bigger trains
Its not too late to start over
Its not too late to turn round
Its like we live in separate worlds
Cant buy the lost time
I want my share of you
I want my share of you
Two souls (should be two souls together)
Two souls (in the life that we planned)
But youre working obsession is squeezing me
Out of your world
Cant buy the lost time
I want my share of you
I want my share of you
Two souls (should be two souls together)
Two souls (in the life that we planned)
Out of your world

Treat Myself
Theres a place I can go
When the tensions high and Im feeling low
In a falsh I can be in an another space
As a different me, have a new id.
I think Ill treat myself to all the pretty places in my head
Yes, Im going to treat myself to all the pretty places in my head
Theres no rich, theres no poor
Everything is love, no such word as war
Theres no black and no white
Rainbow colors they, dress the days and nights, lifes a paradise
I think Ill treat myself to all the pretty places in my head
Yes, Im going to treat myself to all the pretty places in my head
Its amazing how the mind
Can do what you want it to
It can take you to a time
Where youll want to stay forever
Feeling everlasting pleasure
If your lifes in a place
That you can hardly bare
Come along with me to mental ecstasy
I think Ill treat myself to all the pretty places in my head
Yes, Im going to treat myself to all the pretty places in my head
(repeat)
(backgrounds) whatsoever things are lovely
Whatsoever things are pure
Whatsoever things are honest
Whatsoever things are true (repeat)

Set Yourself Free
Walk on the lane of fantasy-street,
See the stalls of fantasy;
You need not buy them,
They come to you for free;
All you need is to dream,
When the world is still asleep;
Make your dreams your own,
Just like the rays of hope;
You can achieve what you are worth of,
For things are for those it belongs to;
And thats not all, you can be a vendor too,
For dreamers old and new;
Or be just there to watch the world go,
Smile is what rules the world;
Dare to dream or just dream to dare,
Be what you want OR want your whats.

Dared Dream
Dare to dream
Of happiness and Fate
Dream of the life
That we can make
Dare to dream
Of sadness and sorrow
Dream of the possibilities
That can happen tomorrow.
Dare to dream
Of a life that doesn’t end
Dream of Eternal Happiness
With all of your friends
Dare to dream
Of the things you can’t see
Come on, take the risk
Dare to dream with me.

Macleay Street and Red Rock Lane
Macleay Street looks to Mosman,
Across the other side,
With brave asphalted pavements
And roadway clean and wide.
Macleay Street hath its mansions,
Its grounds and greenery;
Macleay Street hath its terraces
As terraces should be.
Red Rock Lane looks to nowhere,
With pockets into hell;
Red Rock Lane is a horror
Of heat and dirt and smell.
Red Rock Lane hath its brothels,
Of houses one in three;
Red Rock Lane hath its corner pubs
As fourth-rate pubs should be.
Macleay Street, cool and quiet,
Is marked off from the town,
And standing in the centre
The tall arc lamps look down.
The jealous closed cabs vanish
That stole from out the row,
Fair women stroll bareheaded,
And theatre parties go.
Red Rock Lane, hot with riot,
Hides things that none should know;
The furtive couples vanish
Through doorways dark and low.
Lust, thievery, drink and madness
In one infernal stew—
And Mrs Johnson, raving,
Walks out—bareheaded too.
Macleay Street hath its swindles,
But on a public scale;
Macleay Street hath its razzles
Until the night grows pale.
Macleay Street hath its scandals,
But—only this is plain,
That nothing is a scandal
Down there in Red Rock Lane.
Macleay Street looks to Mosman
In morning’s rosy glow,
And freshly to the city
The summer-suited go
While wild-eyed, foul and shaking,
Red Rock Lane wakes again.
This morning at the Central
They’re fining Red Rock Lane.
The Central says “the risin’”,
“Seven days”, or what you will;
Macleay Street says, “Drive slowly”
When any one is ill.
The law sends Black Maria
When Red Rock Lane is dead.
But doctors come in motor cars
When Macleay Street’s got a head.
The grey-faced, weedy parents
Sunk in Red Rock Lane holes—
They worry, pinch, and perish
To save their children’s souls.
The fairy of Macleay Street
Shall never soil her hands—
Her Pa is independent,
Or high up in “the Lands”.
And—well, there seems no moral,
And nothing more to tell,
But because of that fierce sympathy
Of souls to souls in hell;
And because of that wild kindness
To souls in sordid pain,
My soul I’d rather venture
With some in Red Rock Lane.

Last Living Souls
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Take a gun
Or how you say
That's no way you behave
Just a law, a new begin
Sing a song that doesn't sin
And it grows
Hey, you know
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last to get away to some another day?
Do we know
Well, we know
Doesn't seem to be complete
Are we, are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Are we the last living souls?
Get up, get up, get up, get up...
What you say?
Cause all I was on
I got it down wrong
I see myself to get
And the Lord, seeing all now
Can you take us in
The part that comin' on
The coldest man doesn't see it's all
We go to the car
I see you walk to the far
And when you get there do you see
You fit the last you need on me
Cause we're the last living souls
We're the last living souls
Yeah, we're the last living souls
We're the last living souls

Dream.dare.seek
Dream to dare and dream what others don’t seek
Seek to dare another dream that dares to dream.
Dare to dream the dream that others seek
Seek the dream that others don’t dare.
Dream yourself away from here
Fly yourself away from fear.
Across the barren lake of infinity
Towards the beaming celestial city.
Seek what your heart desires
Beyond the haggle and twist of buyers.
Where the world cannot be bought or sold
Hearts are the only things made or silver and gold.
Dare to let your mind take flight
Away from darkness into the light
Forever and ever this world shall turn.
Our hearts and eyes, lies to burn.

Places in the Heart
There are places in the heart,
that are still unmarred by
understanding -
those places that we have
kept hidden for so long
from all those prying eyes,
prowling in the darkness -
There are places in the heart,
filled with childhood memories
of laughter and joy,
hope and new beginnings,
those places that we revisit
secretly and tenderly,
those places that make us
feel alive again -
There are places in the heart
that know no boundaries,
no limitations, but unrestrained
happiness of a smiling child,
filled with wonder and love
for the world, feeling both
godlike and tiny, overtaken
by the invisible presence
that permeates the moon
and the countless stars -
There are places in the heart,
where life is filled with miracles
and questions lead to more
questions, prompted by infinite
curiosity and the desire to know
the essence of things,
there are places that only
you and I know,
those places that remind us
who we really are -
For we are the essence
of life's joy and discovery,
truth and beauty, love and
tenderness, that penetrates
the cracks of a fractured world,
we are those places in the heart
that know no end and no beginning,
but love and only love,
that sings through us like
warm summer rain.

Dare to Believe
I dare to believe that the sun will come out
I dare to have faith that the time is right
For me to reach the top of my game
To say goodbye to heartache and pain
I dare to believe that for the very first time
I will truly get what I want to be mine
And no, it’s not a never ending love
Nor even a fortune dropped from above
No, I dare to believe that I’m all right
That I’m the best that’s ever been
The smartest, the funniest, the best overall
I dare to believe in myself, that’s all.

Soul Dance
I will dance with you
It will be the dance of my soul
I will be open and honest
Show you my inner being
I will trust you
Take you to places in my soul that have been broken and restored
Places that cause pain and healing
Places that have hated and loved
Places I have forgotten and remembered
Places I have not visited in a long time and places I go every day
I will dance with you the dance of my soul
And feel your soul dance with mine to those same places in yours

The Street Of Hope
Today I found hope in the street of hope
Because I was looking for hope for such a long time
But I never found until today
And I still have the feeling that I was looking in the wrong places for hope
But maybe I was comfused before
Or afraid to make a move to the street of hope
To find hope
But I learnsomething that you have to go that extra mile to get where you Want to go
But sacrifices have to be made
Now that I found hope in the street of hope I can be more relaxed
I know what I was hopping for
I was hopping to move to the street of hope

Disconnected
I watch you stumble through the morning
I watch you stumble home at night
Silhouetted by a sun without sunlight
I've watched you walk straight through an evening
When you're laden with the day
And the light of the moon, it only gets in your way
From a bedroom window I was anyone
And the street I look upon is my runaway
But I'm connected to the places I don't feel connected from
I'm connected to the place that I don't feel like I'm from
This is the kind of town where everyone knows each other
And everyone hates that they know each other
And no one is getting any younger
From my bedroom window I was anyone
Every street I look upon could be a runaway
But I'm connected to the places I don't feel connected from
I'm connected to the place that I don't feel like I'm from
I'm connected to the places I don't feel connected from
I don't feel connected from
So move on here now
You don't belong here now
You don't belong
You'll never belong
You don't belong here now
You don't belong here now
You don't belong here now
You don't belong
You'll never belong
You don't belong here now

Interpret My Thoughts
To these things seen- what ode is there to memories past?
of people known, of places cherished
of times and cities, of oceans, of nightmares, of love, of hatred
of good, of evil
Of these things, is there an ode?
a song's soft whisper, a moment's touch
a distraught feeling, a cynical being.
It makes no sense-am I blind?
Is there a light to embrace?
or have I fallen from this race?
A race of what? Of peoples? of nations? of cultures? of times?
What is it to be human?
These questions I dare not state.
The answers a blessing? - Or unwanted fate.
