Half The World
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Half the world hates
What half the world does every day
Half the world waits
While half gets on with it anyway
Half the world lives
Half the world makes
Half the world gives
While the other half takes
Half the world is
Half the world was
Half the world thinks
While the other half does
Half the world talks
With half a mind on what they say
Half the world walks
With half a mind to run away
Half the world lies
Half the world learns
Half the world flies
As half the world turns
Half the world cries
Half the world laughs
Half the world tries
To be the other half
Half of us divided like a torn-up photograph half of us are
Trying to reach the other half
Half the world cares
While half the world is wasting the day
Half the world shares
While half the world is stealing away

Half The World
Half the world lives,
Half the world makes,
Half the world gives
While the other half takes.
Half the world hates,
Half the world runs away,
Half the world's late,
Half the world praises the day.
Half the world is,
Half the world was,
Half the world thinks,
Half the world does.
Half the world lies,
Half the world burns,
Half the world cries
While the other half turns.
Half the world cares,
Half the world weeps,
Half the world shares,
Half the world keeps.
Half the world sings,
Half the world laughs,
Half the world brings,
Half the world tries to be the other half.
End.
London River
Half a score o' sailormen that want to sail once more,
Cruising round the waterside with the Peter at the fore!
Half a score o' sailormen the sea will never drown -
Seven days in open boats a-drifting up and down! -
Out to find another ship and sail from London Town!
Half a score o' sailormen broke and on the rocks,
Linking down Commercial Road, tramping round the Docks,
Half a score o' sailormen, torpedoed twice before,
Once was in the Channel chops, once was off the Nore,
Last was in the open sea five hundred mile from shore!
Half a score o' sailormen that want to sail again -
And her cargo's all aboard her, and it's blowing up for rain!
Half a score o' sailormen that won't come home to tea -
For she's dropping down the river with the Duster flying free -
Down the London River on the road to the open sea!

Look at the Time! (A Drinking Song)
Look at the time! It's half-past six!
Time for me to be getting my kicks!
I'll have some whisky,
It'll make me frisky,
And then I'll get up to my usual tricks!
Look at the time! It's half-past seven!
And I feel that I should be going to heaven!
I'll have some rum
'Cos I'm not dumb,
And then I'll be drunk by ten to eleven!
Look at the time! It's half-past eight!
I didn't know it was getting so late!
I'll have some brandy
Instead of shandy,
And then I'll be able to face my fate!
Look at the time! It's half-past nine!
(And I know that this doesn't really rhyme!)
I'll have some gin,
It's a bit of a sin,
It's time for a party and I'm feeling fine!
Look at the time! It's half-past ten!
Time to go back to bed again!
I really think
I've had enough to drink,
But I'll be back on the bottle tomorrow again!

Half Blooded Brothers
You my blood half or full were brothers, regardless of what you do to each other, you my brother half or full, .
We keep each other good, you my brother half or full. We take care of each other, because we brothers half or full.
Imma stop trippin, it'll take a while, because im use to bullshittin and prickin, but you my brother half or full.
Stick together we will stay alive, all the bullshit I said, I've been a asshole, shit who hasn't, but you my brother half or full and I guess that's what family does.
Arguments and verbal brutality towards one another is what we do, because we will always be brothers half or full. Blood half or full, it doesn't matter, because we are brothers till the end of time, your my brother half or full.

Half A Man
This big old queen was standing on the corner of the street he waved his hanky at me as I went rolling by I pulled the truck up on the sidewalk and I climbed down from the cab with my tire-chain
My knife as I approached him he was trembling like a bird I raised the chain above my head he said, please, before you kill me might I have one final word? and this is what he said:
;i am but half a man, half a man Id like to be a dancer but Im much too large half a man, half a man Im an object for your pity not your rage oh, the strangest feelings sweeping over m
H my speech and manner have become much more refined I said, oh, what is this feeling? what is wrong with me? she said, girl, it happens all the time and you are half a m
Alf a man look, youre walking and youre talking like a fag. half a man, I am half a man holy jesus, what a drag

Escape.
Let me escape,
From my own machinations,
From my own bitter creations,
I feel like I am in an ice cage,
There's half water and half ice,
I am half frozen and half shaky,
I am half alive and half dead,
I feel like breaking through this cage,
My soul wants to runaway,
Breaking these walls,
Out of my isolation,
Out of my despair,
In this revolution,
Out of this confusion,
And escape,
Out of this hollowness,
Out of this pain, half endured and half erupting,
With this volcanic heart, aching hard,
Out of myself,
Out of this lava I breathe...
Out of this story, untold, unread,
And escape, just escape...

Half As Much
I've been up and and down the highway
And i've seen what a man can do
To some little girl along the byway
That's why i sing this song to you
If you find your baby's gone
And you don't know where or when
You wonder, yes you wonder
If you'll ever see him again
Just remember, remember
These simple words i brought
Soon it won't hurt half as much
No it won't hurt half as much
No it won't hurt half as much as you thought
'cause i been up and down the highway
And i watch them as they pass by
Broken hearts and i wish that they'd go my way
I'd save them every little teardrop they cry
Won't you listen?
If you think you can't go on
And life ain't got it for you no more
You're waitin' every night
For him to come walkin' through that door
Just remember, remember
These simple words that i brought
Soon it won't hurt half as much
No it won't hurt half as much
No it won't hurt half as much as you thought
Well, it won't hurt half as much
No, it won't hurt half as much
Lord, it won't hurt half as much as you though
Fades
And everytime you're sad, you cry
You feel like you...

Truth Are Lies.. Lies Are Truth..
speak your truth from your quivering lips
but also your lies comes through them..
your half lies are also your half truths
yet your half truths are also your half lies
what shall you talk about them if your thruth are your lies
and your lieas are your truths
then this world would be filled of noise
being lies and being the truth
until all of us will be lost
what to believe and follow
will it be the half lies
or the half truths?
which one is to choice
the truth is yours but also are the lies..
so let us all live with he truths and the lies
within our hearts within our minds
till we are lost in a maze of half lies and half truths

Half As Much

If you love me half as much as I love you
You wouldnt worry me half as much as you do
Youre nice to me when theres no one else around
You only build me up to let me down
If you missed me half as much as I miss you
You wouldnt stay away half as much as you do
I know that I would never feel so blue
If you only loved me half as much as I love you
Repeat both verses

Half Ourselves
there is a broken jigsaw
that needs to be fixed
it is this heart and that heart
they are never at peace
- read the news -
are we just half ourselves?
the other half perhaps
we have to ask of it from - the divine
engineered as we are
only half ourselves
until we find the other half

Give Me All Night
(carly simon/gerard mcmahon)
I have no need of half of anything
No half time, no half of a mans attention
Give me all the earth and sky
And at the same time add a new dimension
Half the truth is of no use
Give it all, give it all to me
I can stand it
I am strong that way
Give me all night
Give me the full moon
And if I cant take the whole of you
Give it to me anyway
Give me all night
till the last star fades
And if you cant take my heart and soul
Take it from me anyway
Dont give me fountains, I need waterfalls
And, when I cry my tearsll fill an ocean
The pain of love Ill accept it all
As long as youll join me in that emotion
Half of lovin is no fun
Give it all, give it all to me
I can stand it
I am strong that way
Dont leave me guessing alone
Dont walk me half the way home
You can do that tomorrow
Just give me give me all night.

On Love Half Realized
Even in the dream
Never lay your lashes
For half-realized love.
Half curtailed dreams
Torment the eyes.
Implant not half-recalled memory,
In the terrain of heart, for it pricks
And wheezes restlessly therein,
Rattles agonizingly,
And flashes like lightening in the blood.
Let go away love half-realized
For Love, Fondness,
And Love Madness
Are always unfulfilled, half-realized.

The Higher Mathematics
Twice one is two,
Twice two is four,
But twice two is ninety-six if you know the way to score.
Half of two is one,
Half of four is two,
But half of four is forty per cent. if your name is Montagu:
For everything else is on the square
If done by the best quadratics;
And nothing is low in High Finance
Or the Higher Mathematics.
A straight line is straight
And a square mile is flat:
But you learn in trigonometrics a trick worth two of that.
Two straight lines
Can't enclose a Space,
But they can enclose a Corner to support the Chosen Race:
For you never know what Dynamics do
With the lower truths of Statics;
And half of two is a touring car
In the Higher Mathematics.
There is a place apart
Beyond the solar ray,
Where parallel straight lines can meet in an unofficial way.
There is a room that holds
The examiner or his clerks,
Where you can square the circle or the man that gives the marks.
Where you hide in the cellar and then look down
On the poets that live in the attics;
For the whole of the house is upside down
In the Higher Mathematics.

Half moon
In the business of mooning
Gibbous cornered half moon
Clings to the sky
Hanging off the lampposts
And smiling at the sun
Her half spat out reflection of light
Burns holes in our near sane minds
The age
The phase
The time gone by
With the moon changing moods
In her sunlit shadowed self
She croons half bit out songs
Star songs
Of night, light and her half light
Half moon
cornered moon
gibbous gibbous
shadowed moon.
Half of the American people never read a newspaper. Half never voted for President. One hopes it is the same half.

Half A Heart
Half a heart,
Left to share,
Half a heart,
If you dare,
Half a heart,
Forever give,
Half a heart,
Left to live,
Half a heart,
If you dare,
Give half a heart,
To show you care,
