Boston
Where the ferries come to shore
She never really knew how good it would feel
To finally find herself in a place so warm and real
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
The girl she was in New England
Is different now and dead
In all the local bars
She flirts and tells the boys while they're talkin'
She's from Boston
She comes from Boston
Talks to her family now and then
Through e-mails and postcards
She tries to explain to them
That education and occupation will have to wait for now
She loves the Rasta, reggae rhythms, her dreams have changed somehow
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
The girl she was in New England
Is different now and dead
In all the local bars
She flirts and tells the boys while they're talkin'
She's from Boston
Her toes dig deep and deeper in the sand
She's seduced by the sunsets and her new life at hand
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
The girl she was in New England
Is different now and dead
In all the local bars
She flirts and tells the boys while they're talkin'
She's from Boston
She wears a Red Sox cap
To hide her baby dreads
From Boston

The Ship That Never Returned
On a summer's day while the waves were rippling, with a quiet and a gentle breeze;
A ship set sail with a cargo laden for a port beyond the sea.
Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.
There were sad farewells, there were friends forsaken, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander on a ship that never returned.
Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.
Said a feeble lad to his aged mother, I must cross that deep blue sea,
For I hear of a land in the far off country, where there's health and strength for me.
Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.
'Tis a gleam of hope and a maze of danger, and our fate is still to learn,
And a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.
Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.
Said this feeble lad to his aged mother, as he kissed his weeping wife,
"Just one more purse of that golden treasure, it will last us all through life.
Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.
"Then we'll live in peace and joy together and enjoy all I have earned."
So they sent him forth with a smile and blessing on a ship that never returned.
Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

God's....
what you have taken which is
not yours
shall be returned
with all the penalties and interest
and surcharges
what you have given with a meek heart
shall be returned too
in the same manner
but this Time it is God
that gives you more than
you can ever expect
must you choose greed then?
must you stick to avarice?
you give a seed
then you shall have a tree filled with fruits
and even birds
nest there and find their rest

Do You Feel It Too?
Im like a toy balloon
And someone cruel has cut the string
Im drifting out of sight
My heads too light to find a thing
Oh baby, life is like a cartoon movie
Being with you makes it groovy
Everything you do is new to me
And do you feel it too?
Do you find another joy in every little thing you do?
Oh do you feel it too, do you find the only thing
That matters now is me and you?
I cant believe my ears
You know I hear such crazy sounds
Each time I talk to you
And walk with you Im off the ground
Oh baby, love is great, you just cant top it
Got the ball we mustnt drop it
Girl there aint a thing can stop it now
And do you feel it too?
Do you find another joy in every little thing you do?
Oh do you feel it too, do you find the only thing
That matters now is me and you?
Tell me baby
Oh baby, life is like a cartoon movie
Being with you makes it groovy
Everything you do is new to me
And do you feel it too?
Do you find another joy in every little thing you do?
Oh do you feel it too, do you find the only thing
That matters now is me and you?

No Longer Adrift
No longer adrift, I have returned;
Returned to the place of my birth,
The origin of my love's declaration.
I have returned to the sweetfullness
Of timelessness, on nature's breast
Yearned and in mourning, as since scorned.
But I still have my faith, I still have my love,
For the voices they speak to me, through your words.

Fire Down Below
Words and music by bob seger
Here comes old rosie shes looking mighty fine
Here comes hot nancy shes steppin right on time
There go the street lights bringin on the night
Here come the men faces hidden from the light
All through the shadows they come and they go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below
Here comes the rich man in his big long limousine
Here comes the poor man all you got to have is green
Here comes the banker and the lawyer and the cop
One thing for certain it aint never gonna stop
When it all gets too heavy
Thats when they come and go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below
It happens out in vegas happens in moline
On the blue blood streets of boston
Up in berkeley and out in queens
And it went on yesterday and its going on tonight
Somewhere theres somebody aint treatin somebody right
And hes looking out for rosie and shes looking mighty fine
And hes walking the streets for nancy
And hell find her everytime
When the street light flicker bringing on the night
Well theyll be slipping into darkness slipping out of sight
All through the midnight
Watch em come and watch em go
With only one thing in common
They got the fire down below

Should I Wear My 3-D Glasses?
Mommy...
Who are they in those cages?
'They are the ones,
Who couldn't believe
They were being deceived!
And when they discovered they were...
They went nuts.
And started roaming the streets.
Begging from those living in the inner city,
For food to eat! '
And who ar they over there?
'Those are the ones who lived in the inner city! '
How come they don't look crazy like the others?
'They've been used to being locked up.
Most of them all their lives! '
~Boston! You gotta bid higher than a 4 low,
If you playing with me.
Hey...
Bring me some chips and a Heinekein,
If there are any left.~
Mommy,
What's a 4 low?
'I don't know!
That exhibit has been there for years.'
How come their cage door is open,
And unlocked?
'Who knows?
Maybe they are just comfortable being there.
Come on.
Let's look at the new exhibit upstairs.
I really want you to see that one! '
Why mommy?
'That's the one they are talking about!
They actually have on display,
Several groups of different people...
Who are expressing affection, concern and respect
For each other.
I want you to see that one.
I don't believe it myself! '
What is that one called?
'Death of Pretensions.
It has been filmed! '
Should I wear my 3-D glasses?
'Yes! I'm glad you reminded me.
I want you to get front seats.
I want you to sit up close.
I'll be sitting right behind you.'
Why, mommy?
'I don't know if I'm ready for it.
Your young.
You can handle it.
While you are here...
I may go back to find out what a 'Boston' is! '

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything
arr! Arr! ARr! ARR!
We are the pirates who dont do anything,
We just stay at home and lie around,
And if you ask us to do anything,
We'll just tell you we dont do anything!
Well, Ive never been to Greenland,
And I've never been to Denver,
And Ive never buried treasure in St. Louie or St. Paul,
And Ive never been to Moscow,
And Ive never been to Tampa,
And Ive never been to Boston in the fall!
'Cause We're the pirates who dont do anything,
We just stay at home and lie around,
And if you ask us to do anything,
We'll just tell you we dont do anything!
And Ive never hoist the mainstay,
And Ive never swabbed the poop deck,
And Ive never veer to starboard,
Cause I never sail at all.
And Ive never walked the gangplank,
And Ive never owned a parrot,
And Ive never been to Boston in the fall!
'Cause were the pirates who dont do anything,
We just stay at home and lie around,
And if you ask us to do anything,
We'll just tell you we dont do anything!
Well, I've never plucked a rooster,
And I'm not too good at ping pong,
And Ive never thrown my mashed potaters,
Up against the wall.
And Ive never kissed a chipmunk,
And Ive never gotten head lice,
And Ive never been to Boston in the Fall!
(Spoken part)
Pirate Captain's Log, 2002,
Who be this band Relient K?
And why be they so full of contradictions?
We don't know, what he did,
but we're down with Captain Kidd,
We don't wake up late for lunch,
But we all eat Captain Crunch,
We don't smoke,
We don't chew,
We watch Captain Kangaroo!
And Ive never licked a spark plug,
And Ive never sniffed a stinkbug,
And Ive never painted daises,
On a big red rubber ball.
And Ive never bathed in yogurt,
And I dont look good in leggings,
And Ive never been to Boston in the fall!
(Ladies and Gentlemen, let's give them a hand!)
We are the pirates who don't do anything,
We just stay at home and lie around,
and if you ask us to do anything,
We'll just tell you we don't do anything!
We are the pirates who don't do anything,
We just stay at home and lie around,
and if you ask us to do anything,
We'll just tell you we don't do anything!

There Is Such A Thing
There is such a thing as bravery.
That would be me.
But still I quake in my boots.
Acting cool.
There is such a thing as honesty
But you have to have bravery
To wield it
There is such a thing as
Knowledge of Self
But you have to brandish honesty
To learn it
There is such a thing as peace
But you have to Know your Self
To find it
There is such a thing as Happiness
But you have to find Peace
To embrace it
There is such a thing as Fear
But if you’ve found your bravery
You can stare it down
Quaking in your boots
