When I was to come to Washington the first time as Music Director of the Boston Symphony, Mrs. Johnson phoned us to find out if they could give us a party and who we would like to meet.

The Symphony Of Music
music has away of projecting
your every-emotion that you
have to give, the art of music
lives inside every-one that wants
to follow it.
the sorrow that it has
gives a symphony of words,
to express the inner-emotions
that music has to expose to
us as we listen to it.
the symphony of music
impacts us as we listen
and compassionately take
it to heart, as we start
becoming involved with
the symphony of music that
is being produced to us.
some-how the art of
music takes us by the
hand and moves us in so
many different ways that we
can't even explain to any-one
that is around us.
we take the symphony of
music as it moves through
us, as we listen with an open
heart and an open mind, and find
the boundaries that combines our
very emotions, thoughts, and feelings,
with the symphony of music that reveals
to us a whole new world of music to
us and being the people of the world.
but what people don't
understand and realise is
that the symphony of music,
goes deeper than what they
had imagined it to go, and
some-how not to show this
bittersweet side of me and
what the symphony of music
does to me and my feelings.
and to have it some-how
over-flowing inside my
veins is some-thing that
i will never-ever talk about
with any-one who knows and
loves me.

Party Girl
They say youre nothing but a party girl
Just like a million more all over the world
I know I shouldnt be raising my hopes so high
But I have seen the hungry look in their eyes
Theyd settle for anything in disguise of love
Seen the party girls look me over
Seen em leaving when the partys over
They cant touch me now
You say you dont mind
Were so hard to find
I could give you anything but time
Give it just one more try
Give it a chance
Starts like fascination
Ends up like a trance
Oh youll never be the guilty party girl
Maybe someday we can go hiding from this world
Maybe Ill never get over the change in style
But I dont want to lock you up and say youre mine
Dont want to lose you or say goodbye
Im the guilty party and I want my slice
But I know youve got me and Im in a grip-like vise.
They cant touch me now
You say you dont mind
Were so hard to find
I could give you anything
I would give you anything
I can give you anything but time
Give you anything but time (repeats)

Party
Well you know I dont get off on workin day after day
I wanna have some fun while Im here
I play the game when its goin my way
And theres nothin like a party when its kickin into gear
Im gettin ready for a party tonight
Yes Im gettin ready to cruise
And if youve got somethin for me
Ive got somethin for you
Baby
Its a party and nobody cares
What were doin there
Baby, its a party as long as youre there
Its a party, party, party!
I cant believe it when some people say
That its a sin that way we live to die
You know, theres never been a more natural thing
Yea theres a brand new story, but its the same old lie
So come on
Get ready for the time of your life
cause Im gettin right in the groove
And if youve got somethin for me
Ive got somethin for you
Baby
Its a party and nobody cares
What were doin there
Baby, its a party as long as youre there
Its a party, party, party!
Yea yea yea yea get down and party if you need a cue
Youre sure to find one in the crowd
Just meet some friends and have a toke or two
In a place where they can never play the music too loud
Get ready for a party tonight
cause Im gettin right in the groove
And if youve got somethin for me
Ive got somethin for you
Baby
Its a party and nobody cares
What were doin there
Baby, its a party as long as youre there
Its a party, party, party!
You know a man doesnt live on bread alone
Hes got to have some lovin each and every night
And a womans got to have it if the truth be known
Lets get together honey, its alright

Party Down
I know the night is silent Ill be insane
Got to find a new place where I can hide from the rain
Ill wait for the weekend to get wasted and then
Gonna get on up so I can fall down again
Party down...party down....party down
This world is crazy, everybody party down
You bring the bottle baby Ill bring the glass
Ill be the animal, you can be the class
I know that memory that can shed us some light
This kind of magic keeps me flyin all night
Party down....party down....party down
This world is crazy, lets all party down
Im just tryin to feel better
I just wanna feel better
Dont waste your life away
Eeverybody party down
Gonna shimmer my shoes on down to the red dog saloon
Just waitin for the sunset to give way to the moon
Been sleepin all day so I can party all night
Hallucinating at the northern lights
Party down....party down....party down

Turn The Music Loud (Rock Lyrics) :
If you're looking for a great adventure honey.
Lookin' for the things you need.
If you're lookin' for times of passion baby.
Someone you can meet.
I suggest the local tavern honey.
I suggest a real good time.
You should try to throw a party baby.
Buy the bar a round.
Try to keep this party going till morning.
Bring along a crowd.
I suggest we go to your apartment baby.
Turn the music loud.
Turn the music way up loud now.
Turn the music loud.
Turn the music way up loud now.
Turn the music loud..
We can keep this party movin' honey.
If we turn the music loud.
Turn the music way up loud now.
Turn the music loud.
We can really crank it up now.
Just turn the music loud.
Turn the music way up loud now.
Turn the music loud.
Turn the music loud...

Give The Radio Back
Hey teacher, what are you trying to do?
I'm getting tired of livin' in this zoo
You slap me in the face and you knock me down
You beat my head right in to the ground
I've never felt this way before
I can't take it no more
So give the radio back
Yeah, give the radio back
Give the radio back to the maniacs
Well, there's a party going on outside
All my friends got ya terrified
Don't call no cops or the state police
Don't break up this blown out symphony
You think I'm wasting all my precious time
You say my music oughta be a crime
Well, give the radio back
Give the radio back
Yeah, give the radio back to the maniacs
To the maniacs
I never ever felt this way before
Ain't gonna take it no more
Yeah, give the radio
Give the radio back
Give the radio back to the maniacs
To the maniacs
Yeah, give the radio to the maniacs
Give the radio to the maniacs
Give it, give it, give the radio
To the maniacs
The little maniacs, you're all maniacs

Music
Things may always stay the way they are
Still my head looks for a change from time to time
I dont really mean to look that far
Turn on the music
Strike up the music
Let the music change my mind
Now dont I dig the big time rock and roll
To sit in the darkness and be somebody else
A time which after all is under control
Crank out the music
Give me music
Let the music fill the air
My dear friend your heads been sinking like a stone
You must try thinking like a cloud sometime
Just leave a happy side out loud sometime
Theres a symphony inside you
Theres a thousand things for you to do
So come on
Let a hush fall on the movie crowd
Boy turns to girl and says I love you so
What I hear in here is violins
Give me music, mr. music
Let the music be there too
Ill never know what to do
Unless you let the music be there too
You see this man his heads been sinking like a stone
You must try thinking like a cloud sometime
Just leave a happy side out loud sometime
Theres a symphony inside you
Theres a thousand things for you to do
So come on
Leave a hush fall on the movie crowd
Boy turns to girl and says I love you so (well, you know)
What I hear in here is violins
Strike up the music, lay on the music
Let the music be there too
Let it be there too

Where's The Party
Working Monday through Friday
Takes up all of my time
If I can get to the weekend
Everything will work out just fine
That's when I can go crazy
That's when I can have fun
Time to be with my baby
Time to come undone
Chorus:
Where's the party [where's the party]
I want to free my soul
Where's the party [where's the party]
I want to lose control
Where's the party [where's the party]
I want to free my soul
Where's the party [where's the party]
I want to lose control
Couldn't wait to get older
Thought I'd have so much fun
I guess I'm one of the grown-ups
Now I have to get the job done
People give me the business
I'm not living in fear
I'm just living in chaos
Gotta get away from here
(chorus)
Intermediate:
Don't want to grow old too fast
Don't want to let the system get me down
I've got to find a way to make the good times last
And if you show me how

Boxer's Wife
She phoned them when the Round was Eight:
'How is my Joe?' they heard her say.
They answered: 'Gee! He's going great,
Your guy's Okay.'
She phoned them when the Round was Nine:
'How is my hero in the fray?'
They yelled: 'He leads; he's doing fine,--
Joe's sure Okay.'
She phoned them when the Round was Ten:
'Is it still Okay with my Joe?'
Reluctant came the answer then,--
No Ma'am, KAYO.

Until It Finds A Tree
A bird flies round until it finds a tree;
its spirit doesn’t tell it one is better,
and even when it lands it feels it’s free
to try another, avian jet-setter.
Inspired by Ricardo Muti who told Daniel J. Wakin (“And the Brass Ring Goes to the Chicago Symphony: Riccardo Muti Says Yes, ” NYT, May 6,2008) :
Mr. Muti called the Chicago Symphony “a perfect machine, ” with the versatility to play huge works like Prokofiev’s Symphony No.3 and Scriabin’s “Poem of Ecstasy” or to display the refined delicacy needed for small-scale Schubert. He remained steadfastly unattached after resigning as music director of the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan in 2005 in an operatic kerfuffle. Orchestra musicians and other workers at the theater had turned against him in an internal political wrangle. “I thought it was time for me to be absolutely free, like the birds in the air, ” he said. “Birds go around and they enjoy their happiness, their freedom. But sometimes it can happen they find a tree, and they like to stop on a tree, and they didn’t know about the tree before. It doesn’t mean one tree is better than another tree. It just happens at the right moment in life.”

We Will Meet Again
Was it the words she said or was it all in the way in which the lady said them?
Her eyes that spoke to me were sending my heart a thought so deep I cant forget them
I guess it wasnt the right time or the place
For love right then
But we met destiny, and it sealed our fate
Chorus:
Well me again (we will meet again)
I know we will (we will meet again)
On my heart its written (we will meet again)
Somewhere, someplace, somehow Ill find her then as I did now... just for a moment
And I will hear the wind that told me
I will return again my love have patience
Lifes a circle, it all comes back around, so until then...
Ill be waiting for you knowing somehow?
Repeat chorus
And if she were standing in a crowd
Shed be the one that I would find among the faces
And if the music was too loud
Itd be her voice that I would hear
Above it all (we will meet again)
I know we will (we will meet again)
I know we will (we will meet again)
And if she were standing in a crowd
Shed be the one that I would find among the faces
And if the music was too loud
Itd be her voice that I would hear
Above it all (we will meet again)
I know we will (we will meet again)
On my heart its written (we will meet again)
From this day till... (we will meet again)
Well me again (we will meet again)
Well me again (we will meet again)

Check out what youre missin
Youre finally close to eighty
On the dot
Some say hes the greatest
One thing is assured
When youre the latest
Youre gonna be hoppin and boppin round the future
All your friends will be knockin on your door
When sidney plays his swingin music, catch it you should take up the
Season you feel the temperature risin
Yeah man the radio is hot, youd never want to stop
Spinning like a little red top, all over town
Now, sisters and brothers, fathers and mothers dig in

Party Time
Party, party, party, its party time
Friday night, Im on my way
Im steppin out
Ive been working all day
You better watch out
cause Im on the streets tonight
Well its party time, Im all zipped up
Its hot tonight and Im ready for love
Jack me up
cause Im on the loose tonight
I want a little action, some company
No main attraction, no star on tv
No long engagement
Reach straight for the gun
No permanent arrangement
I just want some fun
Party, gonna be a party
Party, oh its party time
Well its 9 oclock, Im all juiced up
Gonna find a club
Gonna get hooked up
Where its happy hour till 3 am
She gave me 2 for 1
We made a deal
She gave me 3 for 1
Im thinkin is this real
Ill give you 4 to 1
If you let me drive you home
She said I want some
Action honey, company
Physical attraction is
Good enough for me
No misconception
I just want some fun
No permanent arrangement
As she reached for the gun
Party, were gonna have a party
Party, she said this is party time
Saturday, Im on my way
Steppin out
Ive been sleeping all day
You better watch out
cause Im on the streets again
Well its party time, Im all zipped up
Im hot tonight
And Im ready for love
Jack me up, Im on the loose tonight
I want some little action
Some company
No main attraction, no star on tv
No long engagement
Reach straight for that gun
No permanent arrangement
I just want some fun
Party, gonna be a party
Party, oh yes this is party time
Party, gonna be a party
Party, this is party time
Its nine oclock, Im steppin out
Im gonna find a club
So you better watch out
Im lookin for some fun
Im lookin for a party
Some physical attraction
Should get me started

All Night Long
Well, my friends, the time has come
To raise the roof and have some fun
Throw away the work to be done
Let the music play on
(play on, play on)
Everbody sing, everybody dance
Lose yourself in wild romance
Were going to party
Karamu, fiesta, forever
Come on and sing along!
Were going to party
Karamu, fiesta, forever
Come onand sing along!
Were going to party
Karamu, fiesta, forever
Come on and sing along!
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
People dancing all in the street
See the rhythm all in their feet
Life is good wild and sweet
Let the music play on
(play on, play on)
Feel it in your heart
And feel it in your soul
Let the music take control
Were going to party
Liming, fiesta, forever
Come on and sing my song!
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
Yeah, once you get started
You cant sit down
Come join the fun
Its a merry go round
Everyones dancing
Their troubles away
Come join our party
See how we play!
Oh, yes
Were going to have a party!
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
All night long! (all night)
All night long!
Everyone you meet
Theyre jamming in the street
All night long1
Yeah, I said, everyone you meet
Theyre jamming in the street
All night long!
Yeah, I said, everyone you meet
Theyre jamming in the street
All night long!

World Party
Well its got nothing to do with anything that is real
You just believe in it and its true
You can sooth like an angel or sigh like a saint
You can dream it and see it through
You will live to see a sea of lights
Sparking on the face of a pearl
Climb your own peak
Find a new streak
Get yourself along to the world party (party!)
Now youve been building for yourself a cool place in the sand
Youre thinking that its mighty fine
Youve got dust in your eyeballs, you got mud in your mouth
But its your head, it aint mine
Ive got a madman of my own to contend with
Cursing in the cave of my skull
Turn the other cheek
Find a new streak
Get yourself along to the world party (party!)
Well I heard a rumour of a golden age
Somewhere back along the line
Maybe I dreamed it in a whisper or
Heard it in a spell
It was something to do with the sign of the times
And the only thing that I remember
Is a summer like a pretty girl
Who shimmers and shines
Moving in time
Shaking to the beat of the heart of the world
Party (party! party! party! party! party! party! party! party! party!)
