If you put a ten dollar bill under the rug instead of spending it, that is capital formation. It represents ten dollars' worth of something that might have been immediately consumed, but wasn't.

Having-Less-Is-More
Money isn't 'everything' you know?
'Ooooohhh mon ami,
Big dummy you!
YOUR money may not be 'everything'.
Or not nearly what it use to be.
However...
SOMEWHERE someone is spending it,
Caring less about your limitation.
Or who has good or bad or indifferent credit.
And they have yet to accept greed as a motive,
To live a happy life! '
I am not referring to foreigners,
I am talking about us...
Living today in 'this' country.
'Oh?
I see.
So you've already adopted,
That 'Having-Less-Is-More' attitude?
Good for you.
You make me proud.
But as for me...
Give me a ten dollar bill anytime.
Even a five dollar bill,
Seems less than a dollar these days.'

100,000 Pennies
I broke into the bank on Sunday,
You should see the money I got.
I couldn't drag it home 'til Monday,
'Cause it sure weighed an awful lot.
Then I sat down to count it,
And much to my surprise,
A whole lotta little brown, little round coins,
Rolled out before my eyes
Chorus:
I've got a hundred thousand dollars worth of pennies,
Not a solitary dollar or a dime,
And I don't believe there's many,
Rich men with a problem like mine.
And I don't think this is any
Kind of ending to a perfect crime.
I've got a hundred thousand dollars worth of pennies,
And I'm spendin' it a penny at a time!
Now a steak sure would taste delicious,
And I've forgot how a beer would feel,
But the man just might get suspicious,
If I gave him eight hundred pennies for a meal.
So I guess I'll just weigh myself again,
And buy me another stick of gum,
I've got a hundred thousand dollars worth of pennies, Lord!
And I'm livin' like a penniless bum!
Chorus:
I've got a hundred thousand dollars worth of pennies,
Not a solitary dollar or a dime,
And I don't believe there's many,
Rich men with a problem like mine.

After the $700 billion bailout, the trillion-dollar stimulus, and the massive budget bill with over 9,000 earmarks, many of you implored Washington to please stop spending money we don't have. But, instead of cutting, we saw an unprecedented explosion of government spending and debt, unlike anything we have seen in the history of our country.

A Reformed Penny Pincher
I've figured it out,
I'm more on top...
Than just a dollar.
And I don't bother,
To worry about how many I've got.
I've figured it out,
I'm more on top...
Than just a dollar.
And I don't bother,
To worry about how many I've got.
My worth is not how much I've got up in my pockets.
Copped up in stocks.
Or...
Those markets to be watched.
Nor do I pinch a penny,
Everyday to pitch a fit.
Because I know that pinching pennies,
Makes not a bit of sense.
I've figured it out,
I'm more on top...
Than just a dollar.
And I don't bother,
To worry about how many I've got.
My worth is not knocked up,
Or rocked by losing dollars.
Or scream and holler...
About what I have not.
My worth is not how much I've got up in my pockets.
Copped up in stocks.
Or,
Those markets to be watched.
I guess I'm just a reformed penny pincher.
Believing my self worth a richer picture.

the Seated Dollar
(Murder of Wild Bill Hitchcock,08/02/76)
He tossed it down upon the bar,
careless of its worth and weight.
To ease his thirst required Whiskey
Then he’d find a woman for a “date”.
Saddle weary and in pain
From the Long and Dusty trail
Bill had rode hard to reach Cheyenne
to rest his boot on this bar rail.
His fate that day did not include
A decent bath or indecent touch-
The Men he gambled with grew angry
His fast gun hand –not fast enough
Someone grabbed that silver dollar
Not bothering to check the date.
The body, whitened with death’s pallor, .
the dead man’s hand; the Aces and Eights.
The seasons turned and turned again
Whole generations turned to dust
The pilfered dollar was collected
Inherited, passed on in Trust.
I lay it gently on the velvet
Careful of its worth and weight
my seated Dollar set requires
a specimen of this grade and date
.

I have a record as governor. I have a record of cutting spending. And I talked yesterday not only about we ought to cut spending, I talked about how we've cut spending in Mississippi and how if you did the same things in the federal government, you would save tens of billions of dollars a year.

Inflation is when you pay fifteen dollars for the ten-dollar haircut you used to get for five dollars when you had hair.
If GE's strategy of investment in China is wrong, it represents a loss of a billion dollars, perhaps a couple of billion dollars. If it is right, it is the future of this company for the next century.

Top Dollar
Well I tried to find something
Something to hold on to
I thought it was you cause Im sick and tired
Of trying to make something
Something out of nothing
I guess since you were bluffing
Now I think Im losing my mind
The pain in my heart
Was it worth the price?
The pain in my heart
Was it worth the time I wasted on you?
Youre giving me the top dollar blues
And I gave you it all, all
All that I could give you
Youve taken what Ive given
Ynd thrown it all away
Like its nothing
Never meant nothing
Now Im left with nothing
What an awful price Ive paid
The pain in my heart,
Was it worth the price?
The pain in my heart,
Was it worth the time I wasted on you?
Youre giving me the top dollar blues.
Ive bet all my money and thats how it goes
You ran a good race
But you lost just by a nose
Its true.
Baby, youre giving me the top dollar blues.
The top dollar blues,
I gave you it all, all
All that I could give you
And the top dollar blues
Top dollar blues

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.

But you say, does it represent change? The change is that we are fighting an insurance industry that has killed health reform for generations. They're spending tens of millions of dollars right now to defeat this bill, and we're on the doorstep of winning a great victory for the American people.

For The Conceited Woman...
often your talk
boils down to how attractive you are
or have been
and i just keep on listening
i think i must give you the challenge of shane:
walk down the road
have a hundred dollar bill in your hand
make a man choose: sex with you or the hundred dollar bill.
it's fine with me: i'll give you a hundred more.

How Deep Can An Ignorance Get
I'm telling you...
I saw a five dollar bill.
When you were discussing,
The clarity of the sky.
And how that has not been seen,
In quite sometime.
We'll discuss that later.
Now go see if you can find someone,
With a rope or ladder or something.
Or find someone with a flashlight.
I know what I saw.
And I saw it from up there,
Where you are.
'How deep can an ignorance get? '
There you go getting philosophical.
'No one told you to jump down there,
Like a fool.'
Who are you calling a fool?
I've got more than five dollars in my wallet.
And I bet you can't say that?
Can you!
'You are right!
But who is asking who for the assistance? '

Too Much Of Heaven (rough Edit)
Too much of heaven
Can bring you underground
Heaven
Can always turn around
Too much of heaven
A life and soul hell bound
Heaven
The killer makes no sound
They're still talk about money
That's right and too much of heaven
C'mon my friend
Ley me tell you what it's all about
It's called money dependence today
And people just keep going on looking at the dollar bill
And nothing else around them
No love no friendship nothing else
Just the dollar bill coming on into their pocket
Into their bank account and that's
Too much of heaven bringing them underground
Let me tell you what it's all about
It's called money dependence today
And people just keep going on looking at the dollar bill
And nothing else around them
No love no friendship nothing else
Just the dollar bill coming on into their pocket
Into their bank account
The answer
Is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing
Oh let me tell you what it's all about
Too much of heaven bring you underground

Unfettered Bound
George's face on the dollar bill
has that wry smile
his hair tarnishing white
the eyes lidded;
the lips thin and slight.
He rests in the cradle green bill;
lucre in Prosperity's Night.
I lay upon the bed in dream
wondering
how I might squeeze from that dollar bill
meaning
to banish meaninglessness.
But clutch it I do
in numbers round
expectant that Joy magically
will arrive;
unfettered;
unbound.
But it does not
and it's pursuit
dominates my life
George gallops
away
way back in time
and I
horseless
wonder if he knew
would he turn
and wait
for me
unfettered
bound.
