A Big Bright Dream

There is a glimpse of morn on the sky
Where dark clouds are floating high

So look to it and hope to see
A big bright dawn appearing for thee

For life is a mixture of joy and sorrow
Where appears dull and bright morrow

So don't sit back and think dear
That joy and pleasure are commodity rare

For everyone is given his share
Of both smile's joy or pain's tear

So don't feel bad and hope to see
A big bright dawn appearing for thee.

Silver Dreams, Golden Smiles

You came to me
In a silver dream
With a glowing flow
Of a mountain stream
You lift my soul
Way beyond the sky
Just to wake me up
With your golden smiles
Chorus:
Silver dreams and golden smiles
Silver dreams and golden smiles
Silver dreams and golden smiles
Silver dreams and golden smiles
I knew one day
You would come my way
You would help me see
The reality
Heaven and earth
They are one, the same
In my heart I know
When you call my name
Chorus
Dreaming when Im wide awake
See, when my eyes are closed
Flying, I dont need no wings
Being everywhere at once
Hold me, hold me in your arms
Fill me with your glowing grace
Chorus

Were There Hope

I was never in a league of noble gentlemen
To whom she'd cast polite and flitting smiles,
Only distant hope and dying dreams for me!
Or perhaps descent into a game of wiles

To give a chance of sipping wine on heady nights
With her angelic presence to declare;
Above, an aura playing out hypnotic hues,
And I in awe of blonde cascades of hair.

But no! my tiring soul is sinking in a mire
To haunt me for an age and evermore, for
How could I expect to hold her silken hand
When I am but a soulless ghost of yore?

Easter Hymn

Christ is risen and death subdued,
He hath hurled the conqueror down,
And the dark grave's solitude
Lighted from His glory-crown:
Called to His reward above,
See His gracious presence throw
Smiles of peace and words of love
On His followers here below.

Like a star-a sacred star,
Lo! He sits in brightness shrined,
Scattering beams of joy afar,
Beams of joy on all mankind-
Still in sorrow's darkest night,
And on trouble's restless sea,
Those benignant beams shall light,
And that star my guide shall be.

The World Through My Window

Bright sunshine and golden afternoon
Is what I see from my window at noon
Where tender smiles of the lovely clouds
All clear my life's pain and doubt

I learn to impose the rhythm of life
In all the moments and events that survive
When I let go all my past fear
And swap them fairly with faith and cheer

And I put my faith in Gracious God
Who holds my hands in every odd
And heal my wounds and my pain
To show me a glimpse of peace and fain

This is what I see and feel
When I learn to hold on life's deal
And re-establish my faith in life
Where I am bound to live and survive

Life opens the gift of bliss and peace
On my injured life with hopeful lease
Where I do somersaults in rainbow hue
And brighten my life with sun's warmth too

And this is what I see now dear
The world through my window with cheer
Where life smiles back with faith and hope
To show me new vision of life without mope.

You Always Saw The Blue Skies

(frankie miller/ will jennings)
Producer for bonnie: jimmy smyth
Im turned around and lost out here again
Feeling like theres no way out
And without you no way in
Where are you my friend?
I know how hard it is
To keep from crying out loud
To look up in the sky
And see nothing but clouds
The last thing you said
you know my hope never dies
No matter how dark it was
You always saw the blue skies
Oh Im sick and tired of yesterday
I think of all the times I chose the worst things
And I threw the best away
What would you say?
You know how hard it is
To keep from crying out loud
To look up in the sky
And see nothing but clouds
The last thing you said
you know my hope never dies
No matter how dark it was
You always saw the blue skies
I just hope this road keeps turning
Till I find a place to end this yearning
Where were you my friend?
You know how hard it is
To keep from crying out loud
To look up in the sky
And see nothing but clouds
The last thing you said
You know my hope never dies
No matter how dark it was
You always saw the blue skies
No matter how dark it was

No matter how dark it was
You always saw the blue skies

The Bride of a Year

She stands in front of her mirror
With bright and joyous air,
Smoothes out with a skilful hand
Her waves of golden hair;
But the tell-tale roses on her cheek,
So changing yet so bright,
And downcast, earnest eye betray
New thoughts are hers to-night.

Then say what is the fairy spell
Around her beauty thrown,
Lending a new and softer charm
To every look and tone?
It is the hidden consciousness --
The blissful, joyous thought
That she, at length, hath wholly won
The heart she long had sought.

To-morrow is her bridal day,
That day of hopes and fears,
Of partings from beloved friends,
Of sunshine and of tears:
To-morrow will she say the words,
Those words whose import deep
Will fix her future lot in life --
Well might she pause and weep!

Yet, only once, a passing cloud
Rests on her girlish brow,
Her dark eye gleameth restlessly --
She's thinking of her vow.
But quick as light and fleecy clouds
Flit o'er a summer sky,
The shadow passeth from her brow,
The trouble from her eye.

In silvery tones she murmurs forth,
My heart is light and glad,
Youth, beauty, hope, are all mine own,
Then, why should I be sad?
To graver hearts leave graver thoughts
And all foreboding fears,
For me, life's sunshine and its flowers, --
I am too young for tears!

The summer is slowly going

The summer is slowly going
with the dark grey sky
that switches between being cool and hot
and it rains almost every day.

Autumn leaves are falling golden
at the chestnut-tree
next to the garage
and bunch together
as if it’s trying to cover the grass
drawing a golden cloak over it

and I can almost not keep ahead
with mowing the lawn
and raking up leaves
and wonder if a person
can pack troubles
also like this in black bags,

but I miss you so much
and my life is just as empty
as the tree
that stands almost stripped
and nothing can take the longing away.

End of all hope or opening new door?

Forward

Let me look always forward. Never back.
Was I not formed for progress? Otherwise
With onward pointing feet and searching eyes
Would God have set me squarely on the track
Up which we all must labour with life's pack?
Yonder the goal of all this travel lies.
What matters it, if yesterday the skies
With light were golden, or with clouds were black?
I would not lose to-morrow's glow of dawn
By peering backward after sun's long set.
New hope is fairer than an old regret;
Let me pursue my journey and press on-
Nor tearful eyed, stand ever in one spot,
A briny statue like the wife of Lot.

Life a Cheat

When I consider life, 'tis all a cheat;
Yet, fooled with hope, men favour the deceit;
Trust on, and think to-morrow will repay:
To-morrow's falser than the former day;
Lies worse; and while it says, we shall be blessed
With some new joys, cuts off what we possessed.
Strange cozenage! none would live past years again,
Yet all hope pleasure in what yet remain;
And, from the dregs of life, think to receive
What the first sprightly running could not give.
I'm tired with waiting for this chemic gold,
Which fools us young, and beggars us when old.

Just a little bit more color

I play my part with human heart
I play my part in the guilt of the centuries
I play my part with the great hope of the ever lasting.
When my emotions soar,
their who I am, and as defiant as I am.
With opinions so different, words go a skew,
You say I can get through.
I say I know with every encouraging word I show.
I come knocking but not to learn but to teach.
You are already knocking not to learn but to teach.
We are similar indeed.
My ways differ but are the same
I prefer to build someone up over talking about myself.
I only do it if must, an in this conversation we have discuss
So what about you, what life peril have you overcome.
Why do you feel the need to be the righteous one.
It shows you know that, I see it, as a book I've already read.
the question is will you let me in as i did.
We all have our fronts and code of arms, that protects us every day. Sometimes we need to hear it.
You'll be okay.
And every thing gets brighter and adds a little more color.
So my friend thank you for the wave lengths of color.

When I Stop Dreaming

(ira louvin/charlie louvin)
The worst that Ive ever been hurt
In my life
The first time I ever have
Wanted to die
Was the night when you told me
You loved someone new
And you asked me if I could forget
When I stop dreaming
Thats when Ill stop loving you
You may teach the flowers
To bloom in the snow
You may take a pebble
And teach it to grow
You may teach all the raindrops
To return to the clouds
But you cant teach my heart
To forget

PRELUDE TO 'ILLUSTRATED POEMS'

FULL well I know the frozen hand has come
That smites the songs of grove and garden dumb,
And chills sad autumn's last chrysanthemum;

Yet would I find one blossom, if I might,
Ere the dark loom that weaves the robe of white
Hides all the wrecks of summer out of sight.

Sometimes in dim November's narrowing day,
When all the season's pride has passed away,
As mid the blackened stems and leaves we stray,

We spy in sheltered nook or rocky cleft
A starry disk the hurrying winds have left,
Of all its blooming sisterhood bereft.

Some pansy, with its wondering baby eyes
Poor wayside nursling!--fixed in blank surprise
At the rough welcome of unfriendly skies;

Or golden daisy,--will it dare disclaim
The lion's tooth, to wear this gentler name?
Or blood-red salvia, with its lips aflame.

The storms have stripped the lily and the rose,
Still on its cheek the flush of summer glows,
And all its heart-leaves kindle as it blows.

So had I looked some bud of song to find
The careless winds of autumn left behind,
With these of earlier seasons' growth to bind.

Ah me! my skies are dark with sudden grief,
A flower lies faded on my garnered sheaf;
Yet let the sunshine gild this virgin leaf,

The joyous, blessed sunshine of the past,
Still with me, though the heavens are overcast,--
The light that shines while life and memory last.

Go, pictured rhymes, for loving readers meant;
Bring back the smiles your jocund morning lent,
And warm their hearts with sunbeams yet unspent!

Stripped Away

Fuel - Stripped Away
I must have left my soul cracked open
like a door. . .
in the night. . .
Seizing the opportunity
while i lay there sleeping
all the beggars and thieves walked in
and they stole
all i stored inside
I woke to find
a shell of a man
and all i had once believed . . .
Stripped away . . .
Stripped away
Well i sat at Satan's table
and I drank the wine
in a feast of revelry
Till my eyes were red and swollen
and my soul was so held with stains
that just won't come clean
and i tell myself
that i am in youth
What all i could achieve
Stripped away . . .
Stripped away
Well i stared at my own reflection
But i know that those eyes can't be me
My sprit floats in desperation
on dreams like I've never seen
So i reach for you
and draw you near
and pray that you won't be. . .
Stripped away
Stripped away

An Agreement Called Forever

Cave in and try to take away
All that I have, all I betray...
So much damage I've done
Well this I know, that I just fail
Turn me on me
Turn me on me
'Cause this is everything I've stripped away
I've stripped away
This is me, well this I know
This is me, well is it?
Well the youth has certainly gone away
and at times I'd like to erase...
Please don't see that I can't have loyalty
'Cause I just fail.
Turn me on me
Turn me on me
'Cause this is everything I've stripped away
I've stripped away
And I have tried to sit you down and take the fall
look you in the eye and tell you it all
And I have tried to sit you down and take the fall
To look you in the eye and tell you it all..I fail.
'Cause this is everything I've stripped away
I've stripped away
This is me, well this I know
This is me.
I fail...
'Cause this is everything I've stripped away
I've stripped away.

Today

This is To-day, a child in white and blue
Running to meet me out of Night who stilled
The ghost of Yester-eve; this is fair Morn
The mother of To-morrow. And these clouds
That chase the sunshine over gleaming hills
Are thoughts, delighting in the golden change
And the ceremony of their drifting state.

This is To-day. To-morrow might bring death,—
And Life, the gleeful madrigal of birds,
Be drowned in glimmer of sleep. To-day I know
How sweet it is to spend these eyes, and boast
This bubble of vistaed memory and sense
Blown by my joy aloft the glittering airs
Of heavenly peace. Oh take me to yourselves,
Earth, sky, and spirit! Let me stand within
The circle of your transience, that my voice
May thrill the lonely silences with song.
