Three conditions are necessary for Penance: contrition, which is sorrow for sin, together with a purpose of amendment; confession of sins without any omission; and satisfaction by means of good works.

True confessions
In my youth I was often told
That confession is good,
good for the soul.
In a darkened wooden booth
I was expected to tell the truth.
First a good act of contrition,
Confession and then absolution
Penance would be meted out
Thus expiation came about.
Nowadays that’s thought
Old fashioned.
My local barkeep
hears my confession.
Of course he grants no absolution,
He pours Absinthe
and shows compassion.
And I may or may not
Tell the truth
While contemplating
The Absolute.

Confession without contrition serves no purpose.
Sins Of Omission
On the fringes of torso and lips
Straining to hear the voice of gospel choir
Pummelled plains and beaten fields
Were never broken in spirit within
But I feel like were coming around
Yes, I feel like were coming around
Tell me
Cloud burst teeming, insect wave and bite
Yes its true, we are not alone
Tv silence its a narrow entrance
Its a sometimes leading into future time
But I feel like were coming around
Yes, I feel like were coming around
I feel like were coming around
Sins of omission, no love
Sins of omission
I heard it once before in shepherds isolation
Over the horizon in blue and white now, now
Now overcome you can outrun it
When the roarings cease and the right stuff weaves and fits into your life
And I feel like were coming around
Yes I feel like Im coming around, tell me
Sins of omission, no love

Like Father Like Son
He was raised in the english way
His daddy taught him respect, he taught him how to pray
They sent him off to boarding school
Where he learned how to live by someone elses rule
And he went to confession
He went to confession
Holy father wash my sins away
He went to confession
He went to confession
Mother mary take the pain away
He read letters from home at night in his bed
And got this uneasy feeling when his father said
Fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise a good boy
The fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise a good boy
He bought his daddys car and he learned to drive
And when he left school he got a nine to five
He met the girl and he got his spouse
And they had the child and they got the house
And he went to confession
He went to confession
Holy father wash my sins away
He went to confession
He went to confession
Mother mary take the pain away
He loved his son and he helped him build walls and fronts
He knew hed heard it before
Someone had said it once
Fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise a good boy
The fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise a good boy
He raised his son in the english way
And he taught him respect, he taught him how to pray
He sent him off to boarding school
Where he learned how to live by someone elses rules
And he went to confession
He went to confession
Holy father wash my sins away
He went to confession
He went to confession
Mother mary take the pain away
It must be something much deeper than fear or pain
Another child learns a pattern he wont break the chain
Fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise a good boy
The fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise a good boy
The fear of God and the feel of the rod
Will raise the next boy

Nightly I put up this humble petition:

My sins of commission, my sins of omission,
My sins of the Mission Dolores.'

Confessing Sins
when guilt is full
there comes a time when we think of
the possibility of confessing our sins,
the usual sins of omissions
more than our sins of commissions,
to a friend perhaps, but you doubt
for he has more sins than you have
and it might as well end
on the reverse, you the listening tree
and he the barking dog,
or perhaps to a religious group but
you shy away because of their number
and you might as well at the end be the
subject of their gossip
in town for a week or so,
and so you become a catholic again
on a Sunday before your parish priest
you kneel down and confess your sins,
and your dismay the priest says,
'
my son these are not sins anymore
under the new doctrines
with an ending, don't worry my boy
you'll do penance just the same
say three our fathers and three hail Mary's
and don't come back
your sins are the same as mine'
what comfort is this, when sins are confessed
to a person on the same misery and guilt as we are.

War Means
War Means death
War Means destruction
War Means fire
War Means bombing
War Means sorrow
War Means turmoil
War Means tears
War Means guns
War Means blood
War Means confusion
War Means explosions
War Means mutilation
War Means sickness
War Means killing
War Means occupation
War Means loss
And lots more
But after one side
Or the other side
Has finally had enough
And lays down their arms
To surrender and give up
War Means Peace

Sonnet III
I have a hoard of treasure in my breast;
The grange of memory steams against the door,
Full of my bygone lifetime's garnered store -
Old pleasures crowned with sorrow for a zest,
Old sorrow grown a joy, old penance blest,
Chastened remembrance of the sins of yore
That, like a new evangel, more and more
Supports our halting will toward the best.
Ah! what to us the barren after years
May bring of joy or sorrow, who can tell?
O, knowing not, who cares? It may be well
That we shall find old pleasures and old fears,
And our remembered childhood seen thro' tears,
The best of Heaven and the worst of Hell.

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
I can't get no - satisfaction
I can't get no - satisfaction
'Cause I try', and I try
Yes I try, I try
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
When i'm cruisin' in my car
And the man comes on the radio
He's tellin' me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
And I can 't get no satisfaction
Oh, no, no, no
Hey, hey, hev
Ooh baby tell me what I say
Oh well when I'm watching my TV
And this man comes on and tells me
What drink would be good for me
But he can't be a man, cause' he doesn't smoke
The same cigars as me
And I can't get no satisfaction
No, no, no
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Tell me what I say
When I'm ridin' round the world
And I'm doin' this and I'm signin' that
And I'm tryin' to meet some girl
Who tells me baby, baby come back maybe next week
Can't you see I'm on a losing streak
I can't get no satisfaction
Oh, no, no, no,
Hey, hey, hey
Baby tell me what i say
Come here baby
What do ya mean
You don't know what will satisfy me
Yes you do
I've been all around the world
Looking for some girl
And I can't get no satisfaction
and I've got to have some satisfaction

Kindness is the unmatching penance
'O' heart!
Do penance! Do penance!
If you do penance, you can achieve
Whatever you like, in this universe;
Nothing is equal and better than kindness,
Kindness is the unmatchable penance,
People who are kind to everybody
Live for ever gladly and happily'

Habits...the only reason they persist is that they are offering some satisfaction...You allow them to persist by not seeking any other, better form of satisfying the same needs. Every habit, good or bad, is acquired and learned in the same way - by finding that it is a means of satisfaction.

When they took the 4th Amendment, I was quiet because I didn't deal drugs. When they took the 6th Amendment, I was quiet because I am innocent. When they took the 2nd Amendment, I was quiet because I don't own a gun. Now they have taken the 1st Amendment, and I can only be quiet.

Hey hey hey, that's what i say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no girl reaction
'cause i try and i try and i try and i try
I can't get no, i can't get no
When i'm ridin' round the world
And i'm doin' this and i'm signing that
And i'm tryin' to make some girl
Who tells me baby better come back later next week

Sorrow Sins &Love
Stories that never been told.Bitter feelings never been express.Security that never was secure.Confussion and Knowledge not to be told. Emotions cut short, lives that can't be restored Sorrow Sins&Love
A son who looks like his father A daughter who's sed and a mothers sins. The past is to deep as if it eas throwning water.A soldier who is loyal to defend the one thing he loves.Sorrow Sins &Love
Addiction more powerful then drugs love that never been found, wounds that can't heal.A bowl that can't be filled. Sorrow Sins & Love.
Math problems never to solved forgiveness as black as this ink im writting with.Unexplained theories and music without sound. How we express our misfortunes. How can we subside our doubt.
Sins only the devil can understand Sorrow in which jesus weep love knowing one day it would be ecknowledge.
These indregients can't bake a cake but know how will determinate the comfortablity. Those who know the story hold the truth.Look towarf the future to find a better you.Sorrow brings happiness Sins you can repent and Love cover all things.
