For a long time, my shows were about people walking out or about getting my gigs canceled or having the presenter not wanting to pay me.

Tv Show
Too much anger trapped inside
Its so hard to let it go
Hope is fading
Im tired of waiting
And Im moving much too slow
The stars above Im cursing
And it still seems Im rehearsing
But the cameras have been
Rolling all the while
This storys getting boring
And the spectators are snoring
I suggest you turn the dial
Life is a tv show
Shouldve been canceled long ago
Life is a tv show
Shouldve been canceled long ago
Life is a tv show
Life is a tv show
Life is a tv show
Shouldve been canceled long ago
I saw a headline in the paper
Of another ticker taper
For a war which has barely just begun
Well be waving our flag silly
As were chopped into piccalilli
And thats not my idea of fun
Life is a tv show
Shouldve been canceled long ago
Life is a tv show
Shouldve been canceled long ago
Life is a tv show
Life is a tv show
Life is a tv show
Shouldve been canceled long ago

Wanting To Be Near You
Wanting to be near you.
Wanting to be near you,
Once again.
Baby.
And wanting you to know,
I am your friend...
Until the end.
Somedays I feel defeat.
And this shows.
Somedays I'm not as strong...
Or comfortable.
I can be weak in mind.
And from time to time...
I am needing more from you!
You're deep within my heart.
This you should know.
Right from the very start,
We were one.
And if I've said or done,
Something you can't forgive.
Please tell me then and there!
Make me be aware,
Instantly!
Baby.
I'm wanting to be near you!
Wanting to be near you,
Once again.
'Til the end.
And wanting you to know,
I am your friend...
With no one and nothing,
In between!
Wanting to be near you.
Wanting to be near you,
Once again.
Baby.
And wanting you to know,
I am your friend...
Until the end,
Of time!
I am wanting to be near you.
Come what may.
Everyday...
We live.

Big shows are more like events and small shows are more like traditional gigs.

People from major labels were afraid to go to Black Flag gigs throughout most of the band's existence. They treated our gigs as something threatening. I'm sure that it probably was. They probably had reasons to be scared.
Another misconception is that an order is canceled when you hit 'cancel' on your computer. But, the fact is it's canceled only when the market gets the cancellation.

Each of our 900 shows so far was different - maybe that's what makes the fans come back to our gigs time and again. And that they're always part of the show. Phish concerts are a communal experience.

CNN canceled all the shows I was on. They're going in a different direction, but that's their privilege. They own the business.

Cancel
Oh. I almost canceled my promise
I promise to be a poet
Oh. I almost canceled my travel
I walked to the plans of nature
People termed the luck and success
I say cancel the term
I replaced it with misfortune and failure
People termed the optimism and courage
I say cancel the term
I replaced it with pessimism and fear
Actually many people have canceled the event of his life
Like envelop the trash
But most are not aware
For want of excessive good fortune and success
Like living in Paris with her luxury sparkling
Where it is very common in nature plan
And I will not claim any success
Because it all do not touch anything on me
The day will exist that will give you the sense
So it is not worth it when you want to cancel
There will be a place that will give you the opportunity
Because life is something that we need to glorify {magnify God who gives life =}

Lord Of Almighty God
You are the most powerful one of all,
Always telling your people to tell other people about you,
Wanting everyone to stop the heatred,
Wanting people to stop fighting,
Wanting people to worship you and not other adols,
Forever loving you,
Reading the Bible,
Writting music about you,
Giving lessons to the younger gernerations,
Never wanting people to stop believing in you

5th Avenue
Written by gerry beckley, 1984
Found on perspective.
Walking down 5th avenue
I saw him walking there with you
People see and people talk
Word travels fast round my block
Might just save you the price of writing
I could save you an hour or two
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Dont know what to ask of you
My mind is gettin so confused
Even when I really try
Keeps sounding like Im saying goodbye
Somewhere deep in my heart Im hurtin
cause I keep on remembering you
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Such a long way to go
How many times must I look up and say
What kind of fool am i
But I cant turn my back on the times that we shared
No matter how I try
Walking down 5th avenue
Cant seem to shake the thought of you
Even in the dark of night
Your memories of shining light
Though Im tryin to change direction
I pray what I saw aint true
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Such a long way to go
Do, do, do, do ...

Deadman Walking
The enemy is at the door
The enemy within.
Dressed up in the strangest clothes,
Smells of drinking Bombay gin.
There's a deadman walking
And his shadow's growing long.
There's a deadman walking
Taking it in
before his time is gone.
My father was a Russian Jew
My Irish mother crazy.
I see summer, winter, fall.
When grown men
cry like babies.
There's a deadman walking
And his shadow's growing long.
There's a deadman walking
Taking it in
before his time is gone.
Solo
Wish I never had to leave.
Wish I'd never known.
Wish I could stay here forever.
Watch my garden grow.
There's a deadman walking
And his shadow's growing long.
There's a deadman walking
Taking it in
before his time is gone.
There's a deadman talking
And his shadow's growing long.
There's a deadman talking
Taking it in
before his time is gone.
There's a deadman walking
deadman walking
deadman talking

It took us two years to get our first real gig. That was a big dream. We ended up booking a lot of our own gigs and putting on a lot of our own shows. We were trying to get our actual music across, trying to make a connection there.
Do We Accept
Why are there people struggling to live
Why are there people wanting to give
Why are there people feeling such pain
Why are there people with nothing to gain
Why are there people full of greed
Why are there people desperate to succeed
Why are there people with hatred for all
Why are there people not wanting to fall
Why are there people dying each day
Do we accept that this is okay
Time Travel
Time Travel
Walking slowly quickly threw the desert looking
wanting water finding sand
finding sand but wanting water looking quickly
travelling in time
time travelling
making way to way of time
making tao to tao of time
day is gone nite is ici
cold is here to stay love is cold
and gone away
time travelling
travelling in time
finding sand but wanting water quickly looking
wanting water finding sand
Walking slowly quickly threw the desert looking
For ewe love.
Time.

Rocky Mountain Suite
up in a meadow in jasper, alberta
Two men and four ponies on a long, lonesome ride
To see the high country and learn of her people
The ways that they live there, the ways that they die
One is a teacher, and one a beginner
Just wanting to be there, wanting to know
And together they're trying to tell us a story
That should have been listened to long, long ago
How the life in the mountains is living in danger
From too many people, too many machines
And the time is upon us, today is forever
Tomorrow is just one of yesterday's dreams
Cold nights in canada and icy blue winds
The man and the mountains are brothers again
Clear waters are laughing, they sing to the skies
The rockies are living, they never will die
Up in a meadow in jasper, alberta
Two men and four ponies on a long, lonesome ride.

Why Is There No Happiness
Why is there no “happiness….”
Having no heart to pulling apart
Hearing the same words over and over
Dieing is for the week…..
Wanting to cry but cant theres no tears to fall
Eyes are dry turning in to dust
wanting to go on to fined a preppies
To an answer for “Why is there no happiness”
Walking a lonely on this rode
What lese to no where
Looking ahead to see something new
A sine never been seen by anyone
Saying there is no happiness…
For the people who don’t want to get hurt.....

Walking On The Edge
Keep on, keep on, whispering in the night
Theres no problem if its not in sight
In the face of annihilation
We still plan futures for the children
Keep on whispering in the night
People talk its just cocktail chatter
What we say, anyway, doesnt really matter
Everybody, time is tight
Were walking on the edge
Of the long black night
From the left and from the right
Theyre walking on the edge
Of the long black night
And waiting on the big bang
Wake up, wake up, yes this is your life too
The light of spirit also burns in you
In the face of extermination
We still plan futures for the children
Get up, yes this is your life too
We talk and talk and shake our heads in wonder
Nothing that we can do
Can stop us from going under
Everybody, time is tight
Were walking on the edge
Of the long black night
From the left and from the right
Theyre walking on the edge
Of the long black night
And waiting on the big bang
I sit here and contemplate my future
And all the songs that we all sing
Dont really do a thing
Everybody, time is tight
Were walking on the edge
Of the long black night
From the left and from the right
Theyre walking on the edge
Of the long black night
And waiting on the big bang...

A Long Time Ago
Sitting here , all alone
Wondering what to do
Life went faster than the time
I had to achieve the things I had in mind
Their disguise , I see with my eyes
Many things I should have realized
A long time ago , long long time ago
Never changing , ever aging
It drags from day to day
I wish that I had found myself
Before it robbed me of the time
Oh no , oh no
I should have realized
A long long time ago
A long time ago
A long time ago
(break)
Seeing things , open doors
People invited me into
Oh they were so good to me
And always helped me on my way
Then I woke from this dream
Known that I should have realized
A long time ago
Long long time ago
Another day , another way
I dont care what people say
No , I realize that theres no other way for me
Suppose Ill just have to live from day to day
Oh no , oh no
I should have realized
A long long time ago
A long time ago
A long time ago

Time
When I considered how my life is spent
They cry but I know that everything is heaven sent
But why do people lie when all they want is truth at their tables
The sky is looking very blue today
Its so fine Id agree with every word you say
About it it must be said it doesnt mean much at all
Time you make changes
Time youll add ages
Time is walking with you by your side
Theres no reason that we should complain
In the night everybody looks the same
Its so sad but we dont seem to be going forward at all
(time)
(time)
Time
Time you make changes
Time youll add ages
Time is walking with you by your side
Time you make changes
Time youll add ages
Time is walking with you by your side
(come on time)
Time you make changes
Time youll add ages
Time is walking with you by your side
Time gentlemen please
Time
Time

Let's Go. Out.
Let's go out to the Melbourne show,
Said the kids to their mum, please let's go;
Then Mum says, and when shall we go there,
The kids just say as long as we go, we don't care.
They get ready, and go early that day,
Not caring how long, that they'll stay;
Soon they arrive, and go through the gate,
Maybey they'll leave when it's really late.
They see the rides, amusements too,
All sorts of drink, and junk food to chew;
They decide, to visit the side shows then,
Also the young scream, see the pigs in their pen.
Next; Mum decides her turn has come,
For the country women's cakes, would be fun;
All sorts or cakes, and art in glass around,
But please go quietly, Mum says not too much sound.
Now it's dad, he wants to go on a ride,
On the scenic train, with his kids at his side;
At the end of the rides, the kids feel sick,
Let's go get the showbags, and go home quick.
In the show bag pavilion, so many to buy,
Which ones shall we get, the little ones sigh;
Shall it be lollies or biscuits, and a toy show bag too,
Look, there's a great one,10 in one, is that true?
Just before they leave, to go home,
Mum says one is missing their on their own;
But soon they turn round, and there they are,
I only was wanting to go ride on that car.
Now time to go, we've all had so much fun,
Walking round the show, in the warm sun;
But now it's time to go home to bed,
Cause I've run out of money, the fun has come to an end.
