Some of the most rewarding and beautiful moments of a friendship happen in the unforeseen open spaces between planned activities. It is important that you allow these spaces to exist.

And the beautiful open spaces, the forests of Pennsylvania, the recreational uses that come from having these green open spaces and forests, they contribute dramatically to the level of our tourism, dramatically.

What Have I?
What have I, save what you've given?
Nothing, surely nothing I would keep.
What have I, save the love that's livin'
inside my heart where it did creep?
Slowly it showed me what it's like
to feel at peace each day.
Never to question why it came
and never to have to think or say
why?
What have I, save the moments we've spent,
vacant spaces that do not count?
What have I, save the contemplation
that those spaces don't amount
to anything as meaningful to my life
as the moments that define
how I feel on every day
just because you're mine?
What have I, save how you've loved me?
Nothing, surely nothing I would need.
What have I, save how you allowed me
to be myself in every deed?
And to follow my path wherever it leads
and to know without exception
you join with me
and you let me see
that I never have to ask
Why?

A Fact Of My Life
I am always rewinding things
To hear what was missed between
The spaces between the spaces...
Words that were not spoken
Wonderful things never said
But were going through my mind
Like a hard rubber ball
Bouncing between the walls
Of the spaces between the walls....
Echoes reverberate
With incessant sound
Of inarticulate voices...
Incomprehensible
Maddening hollow sounds
Crash against walls of hollow sounds...
Which drive me to madness
Trying to coexist
In a world outside me...
In which hollow sounds
Resound against crashed walls
Of rewinding empty spaces....
That is my life
What else can I say....

Vast Times And Vast Spaces
VAST TIMES AND VAST SPACES
Vast times and vast spaces
Preceded our being here
Vast times and vast spaces
Will be should we disappear-
Yet our hearts tell us
A revelation from God we be-
And wherever the Universe takes us
We’ll go on for Infinity.

The Non Spaces
the
non spaces
a waif,
knows many
a waif,
knows many
who
will dress
his
wounds?
will you?
once,
the
sleeping
smile of
innocence,
melts away
in to the crowd,
vacant stares
only remain
the
non spaces
Careful
not to
hold on
too tightly
to life's
taut string
too
tightly?
who
will dress
his
wounds,
will you?
breaking,
it drifts
arrogant
strides,
crippled
a waif
knows
the
non spaces
a waif,
knows many
you are
that waif,
adrift.

Her Empty Spaces
She knew
the rain well.
It,
filled her
empty spaces.
So did I.
She had a
bland,
albeit,
deliciousness
about her
Her thickened
sweetness
was ladled
upon my
tongue,
time and time
again.
a beautiful
woman,
who,
painted
beautifully.
delicate
br ush
strokes,
caressed
her
coarse
canvas
fi ner details;
that of
love,
she ignored.
Yes,
she was
a beautiful
woman,
who,
painted
beautifully.
And the rain...,
It filled her
empty spaces.
So did I.

The Men of the Open Spaces
These are the men with the sun-tanned faces
and the keen far-sighted eyes-
the men of the open spaces,
and the land where the mirage lies.
The men who have learnt to master
the forces of fire and drought
and the demon Flood's disaster
in the fields of furthest out.
The men who have stood together
and shared in the fight with fate
and known the strength of the tether
that holds a mate to his mate.
Who ride with a gallant bearing
where every saddle's a throne,
and each is an emperor sharing
an empire enough for his own.
They are strangers to airs and graces,
and scornful of power and pride-
the Men of the Open Spaces,
who rule the world when they ride.

We are flexible and alive,
We are flexible and alive, outside of any known pattern, theory, worldview, medical, scientific data, observational studies, spiritual path, practice. Find your rhythm, your pattern, your space, the spaces, the spaces that are right for you.

It Is You All The Way
during times of my confusion
when i have no one to trust
when there is simply no one that i can talk to
no one to be with
on these dark moments on these moments
that i feel like it is alright for me
to leave
to die
to be annihilated by all the monsters in my mind
when i begin to view a resting place
spreading green spaces
flowers all in white
a door that is open that i can easily close
and have my own time with you
it is just you and my hands and my words
and my monologues
just you
because the rest do not want me
because the rest of this world is unkind
and too demeaning
it is you my rain
my sunshine
my confidante
just you in this
and that.

Implications Of Empty Spaces
some poems
use spaces
of implied emptiness
between the lines
during the reading emptiness
may tug at the subconscious
begging reason intellect rationalists
understanding
to comprehend
messages
in empty spaces
the mind heart soul turns

To Enhance The Vast Spaces
TO ENHANCE THE VAST SPACES
To enhance the vast spaces,
Dark matter and energy
With human dreaming-
Mind and Memory.
From our little planet,
We will try to reach so far-
Our voices will be heard
As every dimming star.

Amarelinha
Draw a pattern of
Rectangles
On the ground
And I will throw
A stone
Inside one of
The spaces
Then I hop
And hop
Avoiding this
Line and that
To retrieve
What stone I
Have thrown
In my life
Let us talk
About my life
Seriously
Now, I jump
From past
To present
To present
And past
And future in
A very confusing
Manner
And then
Time, this time
Line does not
Exist anymore
My life is that
Stone and you
Are one of those
Spaces
That rectangle
I jump in
And then we stop
This hopscotch
It is dark and we
Have to stop playing
We must go home
Now

Speech Behind Speech
Speech behind speech
That teaches itself under the touch and sight
In the night-bound city
Uncovers spaces where no spaces were before
Language of light
Uncovers spaces where no spaces were
Between the image of it and your face
Language of silence
Surface and see and touch
My name was left [?, maybe "expected"]
Speech behind speech
That teaches itself under the touch and sight
In the night-bound city
Language of light
Uncovers spaces where no spaces were
Between the image of it and your face
Language of silence
Surface and see and touch
My name was left [?, maybe "expected

Moments
We have treasured moments
we collect everyday,
as we walk our journey
along life’s long and winding road.
Moments that we want to keep
for some sad and lonely day.
Moments to treasure,
when the sun refuses to shine.
Moments to remember
and call upon at anytime.
Moments when we are blessed,
with love and friendship divine.
Moments that we gather,
with love in our memories.
Moments, beautiful moment,
we gather everyday.

Minimalist Death Cyphers, A Meditation In Nine Rounds
.
for Mooky,
not even two hearts
could contain your

1
Blue cornflowers
lean forward
Reach again
One hand
What cannot be seen
in spaces between
matters
Sky has no memory
2
Lean forward
One hand
in spaces between
Sky has no memory
3
Reach again
What cannot be seen
matters
4
O ne hand
in spaces between
Sky has no memory
5
What cannot be seen
matters
Blue Cornflowers
reach again
6
In spaces between
Sky has no memory
Lean forward
One hand

Sky has no memory
lean forward
One hand
in spaces between

Matters
Blue cornflowers
Reach again
What cannot be seen

What cannot be seen

Confined Spaces
I tend to write and I don’t know why
in confined spaces wherever I am.
My desk is filled with odds and sods
giving no more than
about six inches to write within.
Sometimes I write parked in my car
sitting behind the steering wheel.
Its not that I write better
sitting like a shrivelled up prune,
it is just that they are the only spaces
I can get my writing down.
In a confined space somewhere.

The Moments After
In the moments after you had gone
It seemed as though time had
Gathered together
To stand beside me,
Perfectly still
Waiting expectantly for me
To cry or scream
To speak or just to breathe
My first breath alone
Without you
Lonliness poured itself empty into me
Filling all of the spaces
Sorrow had missed
In the moments after you had gone
The world was suddenly strange
And cold
All that I once knew to be true
Became secrets untold
Noises whispered softly around me
Careful not to disturb the
Fragile awareness
That insists it is real
That I see but don't recognize
That I touch yet can't feel
What once was is no more
Now each and every moment
Consists of the moments after
And not one moment before
