I tell you that the curse of God Almighty is on the saloon.

If I had to choose between putting a saloon or a liberal church on a corner, I'd choose the saloon every time. People who drink up the pay check in the saloon are less likely to become Pharisees, thinking that they don't need the Great Physician, than those who weekly swill the soporific doctrine of man's goodness.

Like An Orb
inside the saloon
your hair is cut
the people around
are speaking using their eyes
you are sleepy
watching the hours go by
there is silence
no matter what music drifts
in the saloon
what noise is there
you do not care
and so you only witness the
shadow of their unspoken words
through their eyes
the world goes on
nothing is perturbed
like an orb

One with Darkness
When ever I go out I go out fighting
Screaming for chance to finally end up dying
I have to murder to fulfill my end of this deal
Death is imminent, but something that I’ll never feel.
This is my curse, this is my curse
Sign upon the bloody line I should’ve thought of first
This is my curse, this is my curse
This is my curse, this is my curse
Killing for a living this can’t get any worse
This is my curse, this is my curse
How can I ever love someone else
When murder is my life, and I can’t even love myself
Every night I wake up next to another dead whore
Someone please stop me I don’t want to murder anymore

The Almighty Sea
The almighty sea reigns higher than them all.
The almighty sea will always stand tall.
The almighty sea will be your fall.
The almighty sea reigns higher than them all.
The sea is responsible for many a death,
Drowning the victim for its every breath.
Engulfing the bodies, in its wave,
Sending their souls to the grave.
The sea is a murderer killing by the millions.
Everyday people, normal civilians,
Are taken away by the monstrous surges.
And out of the ocean, a corpse emerges.
The sea is can kill in a matter of hours,
With the sheer extent of the waves’ powers.
Surely nothing can stop the water in its path,
Immersing the world in its wrath.
The almighty sea reigns higher than them all.
The almighty sea will always stand tall.
The almighty sea will be your fall.
The almighty sea reigns higher than them all.
An Accursed Day
I curse the day I met you mourn.
I curse the day I dour departed left.
I curse the day that I was birth born.
I curse the day of self-sought death.

Sleep's Curse
Sleep’s Curse
The curse of sleep that lies within,
May only be known by two therein.
In sharing one heart,
They create the part…
The curse of sleep that lies within.
The curse is thus so one can poll,
When one is half of another one’s whole.
It goes like this, in both it works.
There’s no escape from this one’s jerks.
When one is gone and the other’s there,
They both can’t sleep for no one’s near.
Each one will worry, and each one will fret.
Gaining no rest you can very well bet.
Reflect the curse with each together.
Neither one sleeps beneath the feather.
One seeks comfort the other to protect.
In this the curse laid bare and seen,
Sleep they shall never glean.

The Drunkard's Funeral
"Yes," said the sister with the little pinched face,
The busy little sister with the funny little tract: —
"This is the climax, the grand fifth act.
There rides the proud, at the finish of his race.
There goes the hearse, the mourners cry,
The respectable hearse goes slowly by.
The wife of the dead has money in her purse,
The children are in health, so it might have been worse.
That fellow in the coffin led a life most foul.
A fierce defender of the red bar-tender,
At the church he would rail,
At the preacher he would howl.
He planted every deviltry to see it grow.
He wasted half his income on the lewd and the low.
He would trade engender for the red bar-tender,
He would homage render to the red bar-tender,
And in ultimate surrender to the red bar-tender,
He died of the tremens, as crazy as a loon,
And his friends were glad, when the end came soon.
There goes the hearse, the mourners cry,
The respectable hearse goes slowly by.
And now, good friends, since you see how it ends,
Let each nation-mender flay the red bar-tender, —
Abhor
The transgression
Of the red bar-tender, —
Ruin
The profession
Of the red bar-tender:
Force him into business where his work does good.
Let him learn how to plough, let him learn to chop wood,
Let him learn how to plough, let him learn to chop wood.
"The moral,
The conclusion,
The verdict now you know:—
'The saloon must go,
The saloon must go,
The saloon,
The saloon,
The saloon,
Must go.'"
"You are right, little sister," I said to myself,
"You are right, good sister," I said.
"Though you wear a mussy bonnet
On your little gray head,
You are right, little sister," I said.

Sonnet- The Mystery Of God And Creation
What mystery shrouds the creation of God?
How mysterious is the Almighty One?
Did man evolve or was he made by Lord?
How can man call as God the Moon or Sun?
What harmony pervades the Universe?
What destiny awaits man on this earth?
Are sufferings, the Almighty One's curse?
Why God has made men of unequal girth?
How long ago, the Universe exists?
Why did God make one earth and many stars?
Despite their weakness, how men show their fists?
When Nature destroys, so does man- made wars.
And yet, God proves His love for human race;
And when man sins, God shows His angry face!

Simple Race
In morning and in evening I pray
Earnestly fall to his feet to show the way
If at all I am doing anything wrong
Virtually with tears and in religious songs
It is the only way to feel guilty
As we are called children of almighty
We are made by him from simple clay
He is the only one to show us with comfortable stay
We are human being and may err
It is neither folly on our part nor error
But a gamble that every individual takes
In quest for obtaining sweet cake
Sin or no sin yet it is great load
Some of the secrets are not to be sold
They are confessed before almighty
With pure heart to regret and feel sorry
He is there with kind heart
To forgive all our sins for new start
We got to assure him of good conduct
This is known to all with simple fact
I shall stay wherever I am
Nothing should bother me or them
He is merciful and our savior
No one is superior or no one is inferior
Let us live as single entity
Prove your worth with nobility
No one takes you for granted
You lead the life as you wanted
Curse or no curse it is your concern
But forget soon when tides turn
Go before him and confess
Life is to be moved on as simple race

Only Friends
I went into a saloon last night
and a notice stood out
like a beacon light.
The notice read as follows.
There are no strangers here,
only friends.
There is no frowning,
only smiles.
If you are feeling lonely,
this is the place to come,
as there is always
someone to talk to,
for there are no strangers here,
only friends.
19 April 2008
Note:
The poem was written around a quote that hangs in the saloon of the western town I helped build. The quote: There Are No Strangers Here - Only Friends came from my friend and our Town Mayor Papa Bear (Derek Lewry)

A Strong Believer
A strong believer,
Always looks at a negative,
As a right.
What was meant for bad,
Was meant for good.
Joseph's brothers,
Were jealous and mean.
He still believed,
In the almighty.
Joseph's boss wife lied,
Had him through in prison,
For false reasons.
He still believed,
In the almighty.
Job lost everything,
He was left with nothing.
He still believed,
In the almighty.
When someone else gets,
A larger helpin,
I realize that it's not,
The only blessin,
God is given.
I keep in mind that there,
Will be more than that,
I will be gettin.
I believe,
In the almighty.

Mouth Almighty
This town belongs to you and your tricks of confidence
All the pavements for miles around are littered with your footprints
Now every girl I get close to seems to be wearing your perfume
And the clock strikes the letters of your name
Both midnight and noon
But I used to shoot my mouth off
Till youd had enough of me
Once or twice nightly
I know Ive got my faults
And among them I cant control my tongue
But if you didnt believe me
Why did you have to leave me
With my mouth almighty
Mouth almighty thats what Ive got
Mouth almighty telling you whats what
Mouth almighty
I wish Id never opened my mouth almighty
So I threw away the rose and held onto the thorn
Crawling round with my crooner cufflinks and my calling card cologne
But the realization of being replaced starts to tell tales across my face
Without a soul to talk to or a hair out of place

POEM-6
Oh! Mighty, Almighty!
How grateful were we to Thy ways!
When the two of us
Thou impinged by Thy Grace!
Oh! Mighty, Almighty!
How best did Thee we praise!
When the two of us
Together did Ye raise!
Oh! Mighty, Almighty!
My eyes are swimming in brine!
For the two of us
Thou hast parted, for me to pine!

O God, Show Mercy…
O GOD, SHOW MERCY…
O God Almighty, Our Father in Heaven,
Let go with the wind the foe’s threats;
Punish the unwise and the unworthy,
Let them hold their tongues behind the teeth.
O God Almighty, Our Father in Heaven,
Weaken the treacherous men…
They just pretend to be Thy servants,
For their own good, let them lament.
O God Almighty, Our Father in Heaven,
Show mercy to those who serve their land;
Without harming their own country,
Let them breed their descent…
O God Almighty, Our Father in Heaven,
Let us rise – wipe out the feud.
Show mercy, save us, heal our souls,
Let us defeat the fraud…
O God Almighty, Our Father in Heaven,
Let the foe’s threats go with the wind…

Peace, Be Still
Petrified in the boat they were panicking
as the waves of the sea came cascading in.
You awoke Lord and commanded the sea.
'Be still, ' You said with such authority.
'What manner of man is this' they cried
amazed as they saw the wind and waves subside.
The storm was quelled and the wind did cease
The Almighty obeyed, they were left in peace.
Mightier than the raging and tempestuous sea.
Mightier than the clashing thunderstorm is He.
The Almighty One is The Sovereign Lord
and wind and wave have to obey His word.
You were there Almighty God before life began
as the creator of heaven, earth and man.
The Alpha and Omega Whose work is done.
The Son of God and the Almighty One.

Ice Handler
I know an ice handler who wears a flannel shirt with pearl buttons the size of a dollar,
And he lugs a hundred-pound hunk into a saloon ice-box, helps himself to cold ham and rye bread,
Tells the bartender it’s hotter than yesterday and will be hotter yet to-morrow, by Jesus,
And is on his way with his head in the air and a hard pair of fists.
He spends a dollar or so every Saturday night on a two hundred pound woman who washes dishes in the Hotel Morrison.
He remembers when the union was organized he broke the noses of two scabs and loosened the nuts so the wheels came off six different wagons one morning, and he came around and watched the ice melt in the street.
All he was sorry for was one of the scabs bit him on the knuckles of the right hand so they bled when he came around to the saloon to tell the boys about it.

You Curse At The Girls
They say you curse at girls
Don't you know it isn't right
You could get yourself in trouble
You've been living in a different world
Looking for another fight
Sifting through emotional rubble
Hey boy, don't you get it
One day, you're gonna regret it when she's gone
Hey boy, you can bet it
You'll be blue
Each time you curse at girls
You curse a little at yourself
Don't you know a girl gets angry
Hey boy, don't you get it that
One day, you're gonna regret it when she's gone
Hey boy, you can bet it
You'll be blue
They say you curse at girls

The Ears And The Eyes
so many things my ears have missed
if only the Almighty has set them for
more vibrations of excitements such as
those of rattling earth plates pulling
buildings and us off our feet
so many things my eyes cannot see
if only the Almighty has structured them
to see the realms, so many other worlds
we would know and be friends with
so many things the mind cannot fathom
if only the Almighty could raise it out
of the mundane to concentrate on the
essence of his creations, and to string
their relationships one by one into
a necklace we could all wear how
perfect a world we could all be in
