It has been said that we have not had the three R's in America, we had the six R's remedial readin', remedial 'ritin' and remedial 'rithmetic.

We Are So Nitpicking Petty
Do we need someone to lead us?
Someone elected how to treat us?
And if our needs are met,
Will we then stop hen pecking...
Over trivial,
Remedial...
Testaments.
Just to vent!
And ignoring all the messages God has sent.
Do we need someone to lead us?
Someone elected how to treat us?
And if our needs are met,
Will we then stop hen pecking...
Over trivial,
Remedial...
Testaments.
Just to vent!
We are so nitpicking petty,
People never ready to accept the best...
Of what is offered to bless.
We are so nitpicking petty,
People never ready to accept the best.
We've got to keep it petty cause we love to stay upset.
To never be at peace of mind that stays at rest.
Do we need someone to lead us?
Someone elected how to treat us?
And if our needs are met,
Will we then stop hen pecking...
Over trivial,
Remedial...

Just to vent.
And ignoring all the messages God has sent.

People never ready to accept the best...
Of what is offered to bless.
We are so nitpicking petty,
People never ready to accept the best.
We've got to keep it petty cause we love to stay upset.
To confess...
We want to stay the people who will never know rest.

Remedial Law Prof
remedial law prof
has cancer of the prostate
he has enough
of life: five children practicing
their professions and 8 grandchildren
to cheer him up
he is 78
and he says he is complete
no chemo
no surgery
nothing
saw him this pm
teaching still as if the bad news is nothing
living life
and giving it the chance to end itself
with all grace.

Remedial Explanations
If you are not 'vibing' with the times.
With a keeping up of current events,
On multiple levels...
Get a shovel!
Commence to digging.
And...
Make it deep enough to bury,
All those standards and values you treasure.
Know this...
They have become worthless on this ship,
Traveling at the speed of light.
If what I am saying is above and over your head...
That's exactly where the rest of the passengers are.
And free to be,
Away from remedial explanations.

Fragments from the Beach
(Nonasyllabics)
In retrospect the tragic nature
of sea is a taste wept too daily,
too depleted by freedom's rupture;
the eyes have other secrets to see
and deeper use for the detritus
within us: the bright effluvium
of ego dries up, mired as it is
in wealth, that remedial medium.
Blame it on fate, on beach memories--
pebble put in the pocket or shell
fragments; any memento carries
us as much as we it. Time capsule
contains every evening's interval.
The ocean observes its own puddle.

Can You Show Me Where That Is?
If intelligence is not respected,
And fools on the rise are praised.
Why is anyone bewildered,
By the display of lazy people...
And a mediocrity,
That is more acceptable today?
With a discipline dismissed,
And a preference of it...
Clearly shown to the exit,
To be ushered away.
And education is a joke,
When remedial courses are taught...
To 'college' folks!
With the rudiments of a language spoken,
Invokes a discouragement provoked!
'Excuse me.
Can you help me read this? '
Sure.
That is your name tag.
With 'your' name on it.
'Thank you.
I've signed up for advance physics.
Can you show me where that is?
I am so excited to be going to college.'

Priorenicity
You'd like to skip over the next steps,
Because you find what is required...
Too boring to accept.
And yet you expect to get a degree in finance,
With knowing very little about economics...
Or how this knowledge acquired,
Will help you to advance.
Is everyone in this class a student on crack?
'There you go!
Assuming stuff.
I speak for mahselves when I say I is a scholer,
That congratulatedfrom high scool...
With all 'A's in remedial edjewcation.
And all that basick mess you be trying to teach us,
Aint of priorenicity!
Not to me it aint.'
LOL
Trust me!
You will soon find none of this funny.
Who in here wants to learn?
And who in here wants to leave?
All of you have that as an option.

I Just Know This Is 'Not' Your Best Effort
My mother used to assign my sisters and I...
The most remedial tasks to complete.
When we were much younger.
To test our mental capabilities.
Oh...
Those lessons my mother would teach.
And then...
Shower us with praises.
Having us believe,
We were gifted with unspeakable talents.
After connecting 'dots'.
Or...
Knowing which end of a handle held,
Was used to sweep or mop.
And as years have passed us by,
It became clear her tactic and strategy.
She knew we would seek more difficult tasks,
To satisfy her to complete.
And even to this day...
I can hear her voice say,
'This is wonderful.'
As her eyes express...
'Even though THIS is wonderful.
I just know this is 'not' your best effort.'
And with a seeking we sought,
Increasing much more difficult challenges.
Never becoming satisfied,
Just to do our best.
There 'has' to be something 'greater' to achieve.
'I just know this is 'not' your best effort?
And if it is...
Well,
I 'guess' it's...okay! '

To winter in the Midst of his Reign
Thou grim physician, armed with septic shears,
Thou that dissemblest even in death's repose
Earth's quiet pulse and her remedial throes,
How dull thy visage on this day appears!
Let now the dismal heaven give vent, its tears
Come frozen ever; no gale coeval blows
Filled with the ravaged perfume of the rose;
And keep not all fair things forsaken biers?
O haste, then, spiritless minister, thy pains
To charge the sources of the unfruitful earth
For harvests blest in wood, in plot and lawn!
O laggard, on! till fire re-flood the veins
Of Spring here, ay, to trip the vales with Mirth,
As, long night over, does the exulting dawn!

The Bar Has Been Raised Much Too High
There is a standard set,
In the best of an idealistic premise...
To keep as a measure,
That checks one's advancement.
But expectations lowered,
Will eventually affect...
Those once kept high standards.
Slipping to catch the absence of discipline.
And with a mediocrity achieved...
To come alter the notion of ambition,
A proclamation introduce will claim...
The bar has been raised much too high.
Especially for those...
Seeking their need for attention,
And remedial assistance.
With no guarantee for achievement.
'The bar...
It has been raised again,
And much too high!
It must be lowered.
It must be lowered.
Please follow intructions to lower,
Expectations.'
'The bar...
It has been raised again,
And much too high!
It must be lowered.
It must be lowered.
Please follow intructions to lower,
Expectations.'
This is declared from a robotic voice,
Programmed to monitor classroon activities.

On Clinical Trial
Prednisone, Deltazone
Coumadine, Compazine
Bactrim, Cytoxin
VP 16
costly cocktail of chemical war
remedial armies
seeking to engineer
the nauseous statistics
the kindness of treatment
the allure of cure
the punctures in the catheter
switches just beneath the skin
short scars spreading
where tissue is taken out and entered in
the routine challenge for significance
in an open and diverted time
of search for long remission -
a term of judgement and science
a treatment I consent to choose
and tactically look to use
but did not allow to become mine
do not agree by this to be defined
the claims of remission:
disappearance of symptoms
forgiveness of debt
a last release from sins -
and further kind regimes
so caught the while
in a crude philosophy of treatment
that is placed
with me
on clinical trial.

Pondering Upon A Nebula
Lost in the mirror of the sea
and its engulfing eddies
you rolled like a bucket of pearls
chasing a galloping stallion
bleak and white in the night
frothing for a remedial absolution
A stellar soused in yellow flame
skins and bones intertwined with
the frailty of the gods above
you whispered the undecipherable
at the cicatrix of the heart
Like a child in a labyrinth
you flounder in the back of the wind
winding through the streetlamps
rising in the fall of the sun
and all these stagnant trees
passing messages in secrecy
left us rooted in their irony
Your etude left me
with a hunger for your light
Have I failed you
with my sporadic meandering?
In this night where the hellhounds
slavers to a close direst
I reached for your waning coruscation
behind the distant clouds
like a pearl slowly sinking
in the bottomless ocean

An Eccentric II
Was she ever married? Surely you'll want to know.
Yes and no being the precise answer:
yes, to a man who died of colon cancer-
to him she proved a good and prudent wife;
but, no, it was all remedial. The real love of her life
was a viscount who vanished
during a bombing mission over the continent-
or was it the Pacific? T'was him lent
her life it's strange trajectory-
it's sad 'sic transit Gloria' quality.
No, she couldn't forget her lost aviator.
Wrote, you might say, till she was blue
the world over for a clue
to his whereabouts. Was he tortured?
Was he ever, mangled, found? Succumb to some
lonely impulse to leave his life behind-
including among it's jetsam, her?
she doubted it, but never could be sure.
His was the real, the true love of her life.
Can one, at heart, be wed to any other?
Each Thursday she served
lunch at the Center to people she called 'old':
some younger than her, if the truth be told,
age, for her, being a mere tendency to dependency.
In return she got discount tickets to shows.

Anger
Anger i have Anger i did
Anger so hot, in Furnace i lived
Venting and Fuming, Huffing and Puffing
Consuming my Soul, some memories old
Burning and Seething, misdeeds repeating
Spreading hurt and making Hearts cold
Anger so toxic, it heated up my Veins
this hot blood then reached my Brain
all rationale and logic then failed
pelted everyone, lashing words like ' Hail '
Anger so frequent, there was no peace
even in Icelandic cold, i wouldn't freeze
Steaming my actions to undiscovered 'Darkness '
Words like 'Razor ' cutting souls with 'Sharpness
All my Love, this Anger consumed
where did i find it and how come so soon?
Saw it, felt it perpetually in Denial
Let's extinguish it with something remedial
Surrounded myself with things of Beauty
keeping it at bay, like a ritual and a Duty
Sigh... i will Breathe again
When, in my veins ONLY ' love' remains
Anger i can't, Anger i don't
The Coffin of Anger, i Buried alone!

Children Need Their Fathers
The mothers are now saying,
Their children need their fathers.
But weren't they they ones,
Who kept the fathers away?
And had the law hunt them down...
After having the courts chase they,
With warnings to keep their distance...
From these same children,
The mothers are saying...
Need their fathers!
And the fathers...
Who have discovered a peace of mind,
Are no longer trying to find excuses...
Why their fatherless children,
Seem to be out of their minds.
No matter who tries,
To blame their lack of discipline...
With no respect to others to show or give,
And put this on their shoulders...
To claim this is a reaction to their absence.
People who make decisions with ignorance,
Are always guaranteed to put their activities...
In the path of someone else to fault and shame!
'How many children raised by their mothers,
Compared to those raised by their fathers...
Have issues of discipline?
Or sit in prisons?
As a direct result of those who have created,
This statistic...
As if it had developed on its own!
Like hunger, homelessness and racism.'
~Excuse me?
I think you are looking for the excelerated classrooms.
You've stepped into a remedial one,
By mistake.~
'I'm sorry.
I was getting eye contact.
And immediately I thought they were paying attention.
Where are the excelerated classrooms? '
~Up those stairs, take a right...
And they will be the ones,
Where the light is shining bright.
You will not miss them.~

Distinct from others
What makes us distinct from other species?
Is it changing mood with frequencies?
Or special human mind to take care and think?
To think positive even if situation forces to sink
There are numerous lives living on beautiful earth
They all perish and are soon forgotten after death
What makes them distinct from others is well known
They carve out the position of their own
Human beings are above all other living beings
They have established supremacy and reign
They have their own special needs to cater
They change the situation for themselves or alter
Only human mind act with their conscious
Love has been source and remains continuous
It is taken for granted that love is great strength
Individual may do anything possible to go any length
Love is source of and fine product of inspiration
He or she wants it for good culmination
It may be borne out of some good relation
Human race is supreme and this is real indication
We are fully alive and react strongly
We cry out in despair if done something wrongly
There is remedial action in repentance
No one need to tell or pass any sentence

Poetry Readers
Note-Rewrite of the hit song, Single Ladies.
My own twisted sense of humor hopefully comes through this piece
All you poetry readers (7X)
Now if my naughty poetry ways got you fed up
Throw your pens up
Up in this writer's club, gettin' 'em all choked up
Jealous
Cos I'm not afraid to be doin' my own thing
Makes ya wanna trip
Cos some big name publisher noticed me
I'm gettin' big notice from him, he gettin' big notice from me
Won't pay your childness any attention
Cuz I've paid my dues for 20 long years
Ya got no right to be mad at me
Chorus
Cuz if you don't like it then you shoud't be readin' it
If you don't like it then you should't be readin' it
Don't be mad once you see someone big wants it
If you don't like it then you don't have to be readin' it
Wo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh oh (2X)
Cuz if you don't like it then you shoud't be readin' it
If you don't like it then you should't be readin' it
Don't be mad once you see someone big wants it
If you don't like it then you don't have to be readin' it
They got my name on their lips, payin' me the big tips
For my prose tighter then my Dereon jeans
Acting up, bet ya would love to spit in my coffee cup
I could care less what you think
I need no permission, did I mention
Not gonna pay your childness any attention
Cos you have't yet earned your turn
So now sit back, relax and learn
What a real writer is supposed to be
Cuz if you don't like it then you should't be readin' it
If you don't like it then you should't be readin' it
Don't be mad once you see someone big wants it
If you don't like it then you don't have to be readin' it
Cuz if you don't like it then you shoud't be readin' it
If you don't like it then you should't be readin' it
Don't be mad once you see someone big wants it
If you don't like it then you don't have to be readin' it
Wo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh oh
Don't try to hold me back from telling the real truth about the world
I'm just that kind of girl
You gotta deal with it
Fame is what I deserve, riches what I prefer
From this man who has promised that he will make me, take me
Deliver me to my destiny, to infinity and beyond
Fall to your knees
Beg me to forgive
Say that at last you've been owned
If you don't flip over your opinions of me
You'll soon be jobless and alone
And then like a ghost what little talents you do have will be gone
All the poetry readers (7X)
Now if you're fed up with me
Throw you pens up
Wo oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh ooh oh oh oh (2X)
Cuz if you don't like it then you shoud't be readin' it
If you don't like it then you should't be readin' it
Don't be mad once you see someone big wants it
If you don't like it then you don't have to be readin' it
Woo oh oh oh

To live with.....
To, live for while
You need style
For want of honey
You need money
For extra walk
You need to talk
To lead an honorable life
You need very good wife
To run and sustain
You need to maintain
To contain the honey
You need money
You may loose the face
Probably you may loose the race
Nobody in past was able to trace
To get rid of hate you need to embrace
You need not loose identity
Not to go for any enmity
Remember and try always for amity
Money may simply be utility
Have we to cut man for material
Can any one go for its denial?
Is there any way for remedial action
We simple surrender without any reaction
Money is God and God money
Money is success and only key
Its power is felt and realized
Might with it is always symbolized
Life can’t move an inch
Its absence is felt with pinch
You are merely living being
With money you are king
To have it or not to have
It is nice always to behave
Money to play dominant role
Play noble part with responsibility as sole
Nothing moves ahead without money power
Good name and respect earned by fewer
It is not easy to say money is nothing
In today’s life it is all and everything
No one can last without its use
Dangers are many if continue with its misuse
Money is essential and very powerful tool
No one can stay aloof or make anybody fool

Hitting the Mathematical Wall
(after Robert Frost)
Something there is that doesn't love the math,
That sends the frozen needles under skin,
That numbs the skull and stultifies the brain
Before the joy of math discovery begins
Comes sheer torment of quadratic functions-
And who can blame those poor souls that can't add
Two simple fractions or multiply
Signed numbers? -
For there is no reason they can't pass
Remedial math courses with a D
And join the mindless workforce
Of their peers,
Who care not for square roots or logs,
Nor volumes of some pyramids or spheres-
No, they want none of it
In their beer-filled dream,
In their dull and repetitious slumber,
Where there is no x, and no why-
No solution to their life's equation
Which drags itself each day until they die
And take this time a permanent vacation.
Something there is that doesn't love the math,
That wants all numbers and all symbols down,
And lonely is a math instructor's path-
Misunderstood and treated like a clown
By those who care not for what she says.
Gone is the beauty of geometry and space,
The golden ratio and isosceles triangles-
There is just this massive wall above her head,
Where ignorance prevails and knowledge's dead-
Where there are no more questions,
No more numbers,
There is just this nothingness,
Where there's nothing to be said,
Where all the search and all the discourse ends.
